I was platinum coverage holder with selecthomewarranty. I called to report a claim on broken refrigerator, your ice maker is not in the coverage you want to pay extra fee to have that added. I said, no I want to work on the broken refrigerator for now. A technician showed up from APEX Appliance Repair Service. He looked inside/out, opened the back coverage touched couple of things, closed the covered and said compressor is broken could be fan. I asked, this is still repairable right!. He said yes, I need to get approval from warranty company. With parts and labor costs, I am not sure whether they will approve it or talk about replacement. I did not get call for 2 days. I followed up as this is needed working item. Lady on the phone kept me waiting for sometime! And said the sealed unit is not covered under the policy terms. I said, technician said, it is compressor and is fixable. Lady says, no sir compressor is in the sealed unit. (if the compressor is in the sealed unit, then what you mean my compressor is covered?) Immediately i figured out this is a rip off company. I asked for her manager/supervisor. She said there is no one else who can help other than her. I asked about cancellation, it will be $75 to cancel. I said. That's fine. Give the estimate how much i would get back! Oh, no the person who looks into that is on break right now. I will open a ticket and ask him/her to call back. You can guess now! No ticket, no call back. I don't understand why they make their living this way? I feel like the people on the road begging are more decent than these people. There is no place to write review on their site, they are all paid fake reviews from time to time to grab more fish!.

This company was the best in price versus competitors. I'm not sure how the claim process will be since I just purchased the policy.

The agent was rude and did not listen to the service repair tech that YOU sent! She called him on a three-way call and disregarded what he explained to her.
My claim was denied - I was initially told it was not "normal wear and tear" -
When I appealed because the repair service YOU sent specifically said "normal wear and tear" I was denied again - and then I was told it was because the report said - "no hot water & leaking"
She said "Leaks are not covered" I explained the leak was caused by the failure of the heating element... I didn't have a leak... that caused the break!
The repair guy explained that he saw no visible leak, just a damp floor, you will find that at any broke hot water heater!
The service man called me after this call and said I can not believe what they are doing!
English is my second language but the fact that I wrote that there was water coming from a water heater should not make your claim denied!
It is an old water heater that needs to be replaced due to normal wear.
Never appoved my claim for a broken shower faucet. Put me through a bunch of stress when I was calling them every day. Horrible experience.
Fairly straightforward pricing. Reviews seem decent. They did try to upsell multi year. No review of the company themselves as of yet.

Answer: Scam. Do not trust. They lie and will NOT cover your items.
Answer: Based on Internet searches but quickly found out that they are a SCAM.
Answer: After filing 5 claims, and one tech that wanted to pad his pocket resulting in me fixing my own leak in a toilet at my expense after paying their tech. And another tech wanting to get my pool setup for summer at150. More than I already gave for deductible she didn't fix my pump or water line to my pool. Both denied by select home Warrenty. And 3 more that I paid their techs for then had to fix it myself. Now my freezers compressor is out and they took money out of my bank account without my permission after saying they would go ahead and fix the freezer well guess what they declined it. And said it wasn't covered when in the contract it says it is. List all meat and others because of 3 weeks if waiting for them
Answer: They are fast when signing you but so slow in responding and they are a total scam had to pay out of pocket for my leak repair that they should fix
Answer: Stay away from this company, get your money back ASAP. The longer you wait, the less money you get back.
