I've been using few dating sites for people in their 50+ in parallel and despite seniorpeoplemeet didn't help me to find my soulmate (unlike primetimelove.com, which did), I have had quite a few very nice conversations with the ladies using the site. I'm not a stupid kind of guy to be fooled, so I was careful in my choice. You guys who complain a lot, try to think of the dating sites like of real life: definitely not easy, expensive sometimes and lots of wrong personalities on your way. But if you're determined enough, you'll finally get lucky. Don't give up and keep positive attitude to your lifes!
Don't touch it with a bargepole! Seek4Match Or any other big legit site is better and way cheaper. My review about SeniorPeopleMeet will be totally negative, although I don't usually write reviews, but now I can't keep from complaining about this scam site. What happens when you subscribe to SeniorPeopleMeet is you start meeting fake profile after fake profile. SeniorPeopleMeet website automatically bills you for a year-long membership without even asking you. Shame on them! What a scam!
Gave this a try and I quite like it I must say. A very nice lay out and some lovely people. Im not sure how successful it will be for me. The reason I took so long to try it is that ive been very fortunate on PrimeTimeLove.com and I even know a couple that got married through that site, so its still my 'number one' but I think it can help to try others out too and improve my chances of meeting someone special through setting up more dates 'in person'. Wish me luck!
Im looking for true love so it always made sense to me to join a site where I can make friends with ladies around my own age and have that instant camaraderie where you have things in common and similar backgrounds. The two sites that I had heard and read the most positives about were this one and one called Primetimelove.com. I decided Id give both a shot, starting here and will try primetimelove.com next month. After I got divorced a few of the guys at work said I should try the fun dating sites and find a nice young thing to look after me! But I know im too long in the tooth for that stuff and want something serious. So far, its just a couple of weeks in but I am enjoying the experience. Im not getting many responses so maybe ill fare better on the other site next month, but I do like searching and reading the interesting profiles. All in all, I think im going to enjoy my online dating experiment!
My dear husband sadly passed away last year after suffering from a serious illness and its fair to say that Ive been in something of a rut ever since. My son purchased me a one month subscription on Love Begins At as a joke, I suppose, but also as a way of showing me that there are ways and means to meet new people. I enjoyed trying the site even though its not really love im looking for I dont think, as im still a bit raw, but I enjoyed the experience of speaking with people and have since purchased a six month subscription on PrimeTimeLove.com and even met a couple of gentlemen over the course of the past few weeks from that website. At 61 im hardly looking to sit in the back row of the cinema with someone, but its nice to share things and have that companionship and connection, which I feel is essential for all human beings. My son is delighted for me and im certainly enjoying finding new friends.
I have been a member on this site for around 5 months now and can recommend it. I met one woman a few times but were both taking it slow for the moment and still enjoying the novelty and social side of meeting other people. Im also a member on PrimeTimeLove.com and have met some wonderful lady friends there too, so overall I'm very much sold on the online dating idea and would urge anyone who is thinking about it to stop thinking and jump right in, the water is warm!
I think its a good idea but bad execution. You can find real people on Match.com or Chemistry.com (they're related) and they do honor age-bracket setting - and some of those same people here, so they do have SOME real people. I think the big problem is their algorithms for "matching" you are bogus - it seems like some random computer program to me. And a preponderance of members without pictures is always a concern. Give this one a miss - there are better sites.
I'm not a fan of feeling my age but when it comes to dating it does make sense to look for people your age for companionship, at least for friendship. SeniorPeopleMeet provides that chance but I was left a bit disappointed after the end of my 3 month membership subscription. Overall, I met more people on primetimelove.com so will be going back there.
I will just say be prepared to pay to utilize this site. Nothing is free about it. Poor customer service. I'm not even sure there is customer service. Might just be auto responder emails. Not a good way to meet people. You're better off going to church, the grocery store, local community center events. Save you money for better things.
Interesting site, quite similar to primetimelove.com in the way that it has both a high number of members and some really good search options to help you whittle down the masses and separate the wheat from the chaff. Would definitely recommend as someone who has been using sites like this for a number of years.
He was on Our Time. I was on seniors meet. After years on the free sites it only took a couple weeks on this paid site to meet my mate. We have been together over three years now. I would say, "give it a try". If your future love is on this site you will find out fast. Don't plan on staying on it for months. One should do the trick. Good luck.
I'm 63 y. O., 2 children, 5 grandchildren, divorced and looking for a partner in life. I had no luck with this site, mostly because of lack of ladies from my town, but I found another site I'm more happy with: primetimelove.com.
I don't say SeniorPeopleMeet is bad, it's just no luck for me.
It's well known that match are behind this site so expectations are high when you sign up. It's certainly easy to use which is important for me. But for all the promise I think I still prefer primetimelove.com as it was the first site I joined and ive had a few dates from it. It was worth trying ourtime I think but for me its a case of if its not broke then there's no need to fix it.
This is my review of SeniorPeopleMeet by Mollie in Devonshire. I must say I like this site a lot. After meeting some true gentlemen on PrimeTimeLove.com I heard about SeniorPeopleMeet and thought why not give it a try as well! So now I have two memberships and im having a ball. It does take a while to get used to checking your messages and clicking everything in the right place, but if I can manage then anyone can!
SeniorPeopleMeet.com is a terrific site for viewing and (hopefully!) meeting new friends of the opposite sex (and, perhaps new mates). I am also impressed with their customer service as I had a concern and the CS rep resolved the concern rapidly and made my day this morning (2 January 2015) when I found her response in my email.
I meet a guy that was 71 years old at first we hit it off great. Then after 2 weeks he never contacted me to say that he doesn't want to see me anymore. I think that it was very rude of him not to tell me that it was over. I can't wait till my subscription is over. I will never ever use a dating website again. I thought being that age he would be a gentleman and say how sorry he is. Broker
They've deleted my profile numerous times, reinstating only after I complain. The last time was after i did a minor edit, saying "Happy Holidays." That triggered the delete. They don't offer to extend the subscription for the time that your profile isn't up either. Basically taking money out of your pocket for nothing.
It is another website that sucks your money an still don't have any men. Just to many profiles that never answer a reply I have yet to join one of these senior citizen dating sites that there are men and not just profiles to fill in the spaces.
If other dating sites are like this one, god help online daters. Difficulty navigating subscription and membership cancellation procedures. Two weeks into a one-month subscription, I cancelled. Also sent emails to SPM customer service requesting confirmation of cancellation in the event I am billed again. Continued to receive flirt messages despite cancellation. Called People *******@*******920 three times, insisting on cancellation confirmation. The site has no business integrity. Caveat emptor. Always research a site before giving out that credit card number!
This Site is a scam, I paid for one month subscription and haven't heard from them but they sure took my money. Any email I send them comes back to me saying it couldn't be delivered/. Don't waste your money here
Im really getting into this online dating stuff now! I signed up for SeniorPeopleMeet initially & now im a full member on PrimetimeLove.com as well! With those two sites im getting a really nice balance of having lots of opportunities to chat with other people who are using the sites over email messages and also getting out & about and meeting some interesting people in person. Im not often bothered by time wasters, nor do I get many offensive messages. Its just a nice place where I can go onlne and speak with people who are similar to me (lost my partner to cancer in 2014). Good clean fun that you can turn to when you wish (sometimes I go a few days without logging on) and a great way to stay positive and enjoy life at a time when being sociable is harder than ever. Very pleased I gave it a try!
I just realized that every reply from a man has used the same seven words. It's either a setup or a scam. They seem interested via a reply, like, or flirt. Then when I reply, I NEVER heard back from anyone like they never sent it. Usually after this, their photo was removed. Some profiles were lean with few words describing themselves. Hopefully, you will be reading this review/warning before you decide to sign up. Not so sure some members are active as before I signed up, I am sure that I saw a few faces and their photos from 5 plus years ago. I can't imagine that someone would remain on this site for so long or resubscribe a second time. If we think it is a scam or something unusual is going on, then it probably is. Also, they overcharged my credit card as others have mentioned has happened to them. No luck getting that corrected!
I think there was one or two credible men on the whole site. The rest were only looking for sex. Hard to take anyone seriously after too many of those experiences. I suppose they should monitor and make sure that the women on there really aren't hookers in disguise!
Stop! Save your money and DO NOT sign up for this site. It's a total scam. This site "matched" me up with people from all over Canada and the US although my criteria stated I wanted to meet people within a local mileage range. They also sent me "matches" of men who smoked, different ethical backgrounds, non-religious men, etc. All of my criteria was not even used. I even recieved messages from men who are in the 40's... so much for it being a 50-55+ web site. I have cancelled my renewal and it better be done or I will take legal action. You can't even get a response from Customer Service except for an automated reply. Forget this site - spend your money on joining a group class or something in your neighbourhood. Good luck.
My paid membership ends next week. I have been a member for quite some time. It used to be pretty good. Now it is all about the view count. My daily matches are usually people who have not been on the site for quite a while or are over 10 years younger than me. Also don't think they adhere to the 50 year old limit since the merger with Our Time. "Who Do You Like" automatically sends out 2 views when you sign on. I have a view count over 150+ on some people whose profiles I have never viewed. Be careful where you rest your mouse.
Profile censorship borders on illegal. I tried to mention that my membership was expiring on 7/18/15 on my profile. Guess what got removed and never posted.

After signing up as a free member I got a 25% off offer. After charging to my Paypal I realize that the amount did not jive, they had tacked on a one time $3.99 processing fee hidden in small print on the second page of signup form. I complained and got full refund but it just seems if they are deceptive there, no doubt elsewhere. I like OKcupid much better. No and deceptions there and I've actually met real people!
Tip for consumers:
Read the small print!
They care more about how to extract additional money from you with various add on's than they care if you really can find a match. I paid for a 6mo trial but wont renew. There is a way to remove the auto renewal under account info, but they don't tell you that... I just ran across it. Anyway, Im not pleased with this site and wished I would have done some research first.
