“Not that bad!”

Norman B.
2/15/16

I've been using few dating sites for people in their 50+ in parallel and despite seniorpeoplemeet didn't help me to find my soulmate (unlike primetimelove.com, which did), I have had quite a few very nice conversations with the ladies using the site. I'm not a stupid kind of guy to be fooled, so I was careful in my choice. You guys who complain a lot, try to think of the dating sites like of real life: definitely not easy, expensive sometimes and lots of wrong personalities on your way. But if you're determined enough, you'll finally get lucky. Don't give up and keep positive attitude to your lifes!

“Shame on these scammers”

Don't touch it with a bargepole! Seek4Match Or any other big legit site is better and way cheaper. My review about SeniorPeopleMeet will be totally negative, although I don't usually write reviews, but now I can't keep from complaining about this scam site. What happens when you subscribe to SeniorPeopleMeet is you start meeting fake profile after fake profile. SeniorPeopleMeet website automatically bills you for a year-long membership without even asking you. Shame on them! What a scam!

This is nothing but a gambling site with algorityms built in to make you feel you have plenty of contacts. These people aren't really writing to you, it's the site that is doing it so that you will respond to someone. It's really ashame that they are ripping people off and making millions.

I joined Our Time a year or so ago. I did find several people I was interested in, but they all lived 150 to hundreds of miles away. All others I found were poorly educated (some high school, high school, some college), quite conservative, and think that a turn on for a woman is a big, pot-bellied man holding up a huge fish he just caught (seems to be the majority of profiles). Of all the flirts and likes that I receive every day, most turn out to be repeats of old posts or bogus. Now my profile photo looks pretty good, but I have never had anyone favor me. The only person I actually met on this site, who claimed to be a caring gentleman (not!) turned out to be merely interested in using women for sex, then moving on to someone else. I too, cancelled my account and was charged the next month anyway. After months, I felt so lonely and decided to give it another try. This time I joined Senior People Meet and learned only later is is doubled up with Our Time. It's the same old story--several months of searching with no luck, and again, I will have to figure out how to really cancel so they don't continue to charge me. Have you noticed there is no way to contact a real person to complain? So I give up. Dating sites, I have concluded, are only wishful thinking and I'll just have to be content with living the rest of my life alone.

Why was the ability to contact SeniorPeopleMeet made difficult to impossible, for people to find. Nothing user / member friendly about conducting business that way.

I phoned the number given on my card statement and it was not a valid number. This leads me to believe the negative reviews, in reflection of my own experiences on the site.

Though I agreed to try it out for a month, my card was charged for 6 months last October and it is only now that I've found any information about this site, that will be given to those who are investigating this scam.

Yes it is possible to meet someone within your locality you connect with, though my 2 meets were bad experiences. Sure the one was married or in a committed relationship, with how he responded to questions over coffee. Asked if I ever seen him out and about with another woman, not to acknowledge that he had ever met me, but if I wanted to make plans for something, to call him in morning. Did once but he had plans, then the message came that he wanted to pursue a special interest. Totally convenient, as he knew I would not tolerate being with a cheat.

Found site a waste of time and to even think that another clown I engaged with in correspondence is probably some twit kid sitting behind the screen and having their laugh.

I joined SeniorPeopleMeet after reading a newspaper article on the growing number of silver surfers meeting up with each other for friendship and companionship. I must say that I was a little sceptical at first and did feel that there was still something of a stigma behind the online dating fad. However, my opinion has slowly turned around, to the point that im actually now meeting gentlemen in the city/ surrounding areas every couple of weeks or so! Its not all through SeniorPeopleMeet, I joined PrimeTimeLove.com too in order to compare it and have ended up using them both. I usually go for high tea or to the theatre (with pre-drinks) for the dates but would recommend going to a class with your match, as its a far better way to interact and see them out of their comfort zone! It also ensures that you always have something to talk about, for example if you do a pizza making workshop or salsa class, there is little room for awkward silences and you end up having a great night, even if you decide not to meet again. To conclude my review, I dont know if ill find the mythical L O V E, as a stout 54 year old I had all but given up long ago, but I have been pleasantly surprised by using two sites at just how generous and interesting most of the men I speak to can be. I guess you could say that Im very much converted to online dating now!

Drug GHB combined with aphrodisiac, victim seems concious and even enthusiastic but has no idea of events nor can remember anything. Contact OPP Lansdowne and Kingston Police if attack suspected.

DON'T-DON'T DO IT. I SIGNED UP BUT CALLED TO CANCEL ANY RE-UP (TO INSURE NO MORE $ WAS TAKEN). THEY ADMITTED WHEN ASKED THAT MEMBERS' PICS. CURRENTLY ON-LINE MIGHT BE FR. PAST MEMBERS THAT DROPPED OFF-LINE, EXPLAINING WHY NO ONE EVER GETS BACK TO YOU. THEY COULD NOT ONLY BE LONG PAST MEMBERS BUT THEY COULD BE DEAD! "I SEE DEAD PEOPLE" HAS REAL RELEVANCE HERE. ARE THERE ANY LEGIT DATING SITES? DOUBTFUL.

I signed my mother up for this site and helped her communicate on it. The MAJOR PROBLEM is that they don't mention that you're automatically signed up for auto renew. They told me that they did notify me at the beginning, which is laughable. I'm sure it was disguised in the smallest font type. It also took me a lot of searching on the website to stop the auto renew. PLEASE BEWARE. THIS IS A SCAM.

I am disappointed in this site to say the least. People who "viewed" my profile absolutely DID NOT view it at all. The matches I get each day do not reflect the criteria I selected. I have twice received matches that are FEMALE when I am clearly signed up as a FEMALE SEEKING MALE. That is appalling. $30 was charged to my card and I did not authorize it to my knowledge. I would NEVER pay $30 for one month especially when the service I am getting is Nothing like what I was told to expect. I am requesting a refund and personal contact from SeniorPeopleMeet.

Based on what I see, it is a total rip off. They "list" you and provide you with computer generated likes and emails. The subject line of the message are so similar if not exact, it is definitely a FRAUD.

I totally agree with James W.- this site is ABSOLUTELY NOT what it used to be. I am also a member for quite some time, but will not be renewing. Profiles keep 'disappearing'... mine AND others, as well as inability to access my OWN account. The response to my continuous inquiries is unsatisfactory, and problems are just NOT being fixed.
It is now Aug. 4- almost a month later- and after submitting multiple complaints to their 'Customer Service'... my profile still continues to disappear/ reappear completely for no known reason... sometimes for a day or two at a time. Today, I signed on to find my total composed profile has disappeared with only the photo still online- no change from what it's been for a lengthy time (ie within their so called guidelines), no reason given. ALL of my paragraphs of description have suddenly disappeared. (describing yourself, etc., can take considerable time and effort! I won't be renewing my membership- and clearly their 'customer service' couldn't care any less!

Among the worst sites I've ever seen! Immediate scam is the "free" trial, after only 15 minutes they charge you $100+ for 6 months worth of time; then their supposed cancellation links either aren't where they say they are-or don't work. You have to give your credit card to get the "free" time - should have been my definite red flag. Then, even though I'd not even filled out a profile, somebody (probably an automated "bot" flirted with me; plus 5 men were immediately in my queue as interested in me. Utterly ridiculous. There's more about getting your money back below - but stay away! They are all about taking your funds and not about any actual kind of service. Here's how hard it is to disentangle yourself... if you delete your profile, it still doesn't cancel the fees they charge. And even if you also delete their automatically installed "auto charge renewal", that still doesn't get you a refund. Then you have to dig into their Terms & Conditions and find out the only way to get a refund is to snail mail their offices. Or send an email request. Then you send the email request and get a canned "help desk" response - still nothing about refund and cancellation! Thank heavens I used PayPal. I was able to freeze the transfer before they got my money, but it still took 10-15 days to get it back into my accounts.

Tip for consumers:
Truly fraudulent site. No service; only ways for them to take money from you.

SeniorPeopleMeet is a rip off. There are so many fake profiles and scammers. There isn't a way to contact customer service. I had messages from a man that claimed to live in San Antonio and when I did a Been Verified search for him, there were no results for San Antonio. I told him to stop messaging me because of what I found out and he did but then I noticed a few days later he had changed the city he was from. He's a scammer and it should be easy to let the website know but it's not.

Also my age limit is 64 to 74. Almost all of the matches are men in their 50s so it really doesn't matter what you put in as your age range. Totally useless.

I only paid for one month and I am so glad that I did because I will not be renewing. I've gotten lots of looks and some of the canned messages but very few actual messages. I am an attractive fit woman with an interesting profile so it's not that I am not appealing. I think many people use this site as entertainment to pass the time and as somewhat of a social network instead of having real life friends.

I told them to remove my card info two weeks before the "suspect activity" got worse. It came to a boiling point today when I realized it was sending messages to people I didnt send messages to. I CHANGED MY PASSWORD AND profile information to say "I am going to a real site" and then they charged my card without my authorization for tokens I didnt authorize. I have been forced to freeze my bank card because there is no telling what else they will try.

I had previously tried out the SCAM site Smartdate.com (which I heard about in a FACEBOOK AD) and had just realized it was a total scam when I clicked on the SENIORpeoplemeet.com ad, also on FACEBOOK. Seniorpeoplemeet.com is even worse than smartdate.com, if that's possible. They advertise as 'free' initially but you can only put up your photo free, you cannot receive any messages without signing up for their automated monthly program - which I didn't do. (How stupid do I look?) Anyway, I went to the trouble of entering some basic information - without even a photo! - and got a message from someone. That seemed strange to me as I had not yet typed in any descriptions of what I wanted, etc. Once I did that and uploaded a photo, the rapid response of messages was identical in nature to smartdate.com except that this site would not let me actually look at them until I paid them money. I had never before tried out any online dating site & these 2 just happened to catch me in an adventurous mood.

Word of warning - Do NOT put in money for a site that says it has a free trial period. If the whole thing isn't free (without entering ANY payment info), do what I do and consider it a complete scam. The chances are extremely high that it is.
