The company's reputation is significantly marred by persistent customer service issues and a frustrating return process. Many customers report long wait times and ineffective communication, leading to dissatisfaction and a lack of trust. While some reviews highlight the quality and comfort of the products, these positives are overshadowed by complaints regarding incorrect orders, inadequate support, and hidden fees related to returns. Overall, the sentiment reflects a growing frustration among customers who feel misled and undervalued, prompting them to seek alternatives from competitors known for better service.

I purchased my daughter a pair of sandals from shoes.com as a birthday gift. She tried them on in our house and they didn't fit so I exchanged them for another size that same day. Shoes.com required me to pay in advance for the exchange and said they refund the price once they received the return. Two weeks went by and still no refund. Today they sent a pair of sandals back to... me and refused to refund the purchase because they claim the sandals were worn, insoles dirty, toe and heel price tag and they were unable to resell. Only the sandals they sent back were not the same ones I returned. I returned the sandals with tags attached and in all the original packaging. On the sandals they rejected and sent me, the tags were removed and the box was smashed. My daughter tried them on inside our house to see if they fit which they didn't, so i returned them for another size. I have now paid for two pairs of sandals, one of which is the wrong size and shoes.com refuses to issue a refund.
I just wanted a good pair of work boots with great arch support and plenty of cushion. I choose a Timberland made boot placed the order and looked forward to getting my new pair of work boots. 10 days later, I get an e-mail from Shoes.com saying the order was canceled because they could not get the product. My issue is this why cause me a 10 day delay before notifying me that the product is no longer available.
Customer Service Stinks! Never again!
Purchased running shoes from shoebuy online at Wal-mart. Returned them but then Shoebuy sent the shoes back to me Erroneously claiming shoes were Worn and Dirty. I wore them on carpet for all of 5 minutes! I see others have had the exact same problem with returns to shoebuy for the exact same (erroneous) claim that the returned shoes were worn and dirty. Obviously this is their SCAM policy. Customer service claims they're doing a "image review" so we shall see but I'll never ever buy from them ever again.
My order came to 311.96, shoes.com put a hold on my account for that amount and are taking out the individual price for each shoe until all shoes have been shipped and then they will release the hold of the total amount. NO WHERE IN THE PAYMENT METHOD DOES IT MENTION THAT. THIS WILL BE MY ONLY AND LAST TIME ORDERING FROM SHOES.COM. THIS IS NOT THE WAY YOU DO BUSINESS. DONT ORDER FROM THEM!
Anything to make a sale. Send the wrong color shoes just in case they stick. Then you want to return them? No problem except for the $6.95 restocking fee. In the fine print as part of the free return policy they advertise. These guy are very bad.
Buyer Beware. This company has a real con business going in the industry. They are selling "used shoes" and trying to pass them off as "new." The tragedy is that when you return the dirty and repacked shoes (as you received them) - they just ship them back and charge you for the used shoes-saying you wore them. Second hand Shoes.com should be ashamed providing sinful service and sticking it to a first-time customer that will never return again. Once again-do not shop here or buy here! -Steve G Columbus, OH
I ordered a pair of under armour dhoes and they sent me the wrong color. They told me i could return and reorder but the shoes are out of stock in my size. Very disappointed. Wish i would have read all these reviews before i ordered. BUYER BEWARE
If I can give a 0 I would. Let me start of with I bought some gym shoes they were not cheap. I purchased a Wide instead of regular. I realized it when I wored it to work 1 day not 2 not 3 just 1 day. When I got home I took them off to see why it was so comfortable and realize it was wide so I had these returned and to expedite my replacement which were the exact one's same size but regular I purchased them and waited for my return refund. They are refusing to return except it because I wore the shoes one day. They were in good condition but refused them and returned them to me. So I called spoke to a Walter he wasn't able to help asked to let me speak to a manager transfer me Paul couldn't help aaked Paul so your a manager he pauses and says "no I'm a superviosr" here we go I asked for a manager not a sup." Which I'm guessing he wasn't even a sup. The manager suppose to be calling me ha! Yeah let's see if that happens because apparently there isn't one on site. I asked for corporates# he gave me *******929 you can't even talk to a live person and to leave a voice mail the voice mail was full! Run people they are indeed cons. Don't do it! You will regret it.
I tried twice to place an order with them and got an error with my payment method both times I tried. And my payment info was valid and correct. So I gave up and did not order and recd no email about my "order". Then the next day find out they charged my card both times for pre-auth. Wrote them now they have my money for 3-5 bus days and offered no explanation other than I encountered difficulty placing my order. DO NOT USE THIS SITE! Much better options for shoes out there...
My experience was very similar to most of the complaints. Buy shoes from them, poor fit, return them and they send the shoes back saying they had been worn, are scuffed, etc., which is total nonsense. I wrote them a nasty letter saying they should have at least provided notice they were returning the same shoes back (they looked fine to me). So they respond by saying someone in customer service would review the images. What? Someone takes pictures of the shoes when they come back? Yeah, sure. I never heard another word from them. They all should be in jail for mail fraud.
I bought 2 pairs of winter short boots, and kept one. The other pair I tried on in my home, wrong size, then returned. They said the boots were worn, and scuffed. I sent them photos of the white white soles, rubber, no scuffs. They ruled that the boots were worn. Still has tag on. I am giving them to my daughter and being done with them. Customer service is horrid. Agreed!
They keeping sending me email about their shoes on sale. By applying the promotional code. When I apply the code, it said it is already applied but the price did not change and if click to verify, it said this product does not offer a promotion. This scumbag try to trick people to buy their shoes.
I'll try to keep this short and sweet. I ordered a pair of shoes. They were shipped out that day. When I received them the next day I tried them on and they were too big so I went a requested a Return Label. The next day (a Friday) they were shipped back and I tracked them and saw that they arrived on the next Monday. At the end of the week they sent a shipment back to me. It was the same style shoes but they were disgustingly filthy and worn. When I contacted them I was told that I returned the shoes in that condition! I am a 64 year old woman who had the shoes, that didn't even fit, for less than 24 hours yet I did all that damage! I filed a report with the Massachusetts Attorney General's Office for consumer fraud and I filed a claim with PayPal since I used them as payment. When I complained yesterday they offered me $15. This has got to be a scam. In all my years of purchasing items online I have NEVER seen anything like this horrible company.
Shorted me $6.07 on my exchange of the exact same shoe in a different size. I did not wear the shoes, only tried them on, and returned them in the exact same box. Trying to call their customer service is a joke. They are rude and difficult to understand. Save yourself the hassle and don't buy the shoes from them. Time wasted and poor customer service is not worth it.
Non-existent customer service. Ignore calls, emails and orders until you try to cancel. Only send orders after you never hear from them, and cancel. Initially deny receiving order when you check online. Read customer reviews, and their Better Business Reviews. Many complaints. Issues with them with UPS, too. I had to file a fraud complaint with my credit card co. To get my money back, and it took a very long time. No matter how great their price is, it won't be worth the hassle... if you even get your shoes, and if you do, if they're 1) the right shoes, size, etc. and 2) if they're in brand new looking condition. Read their reviews...
Purchased 2 work boots soft toe on sale for gift. Only they sent steel toe! They didn't have them in soft toe. Sent them back (they came in 2 boxes). Then purchased more expensive, different brand for gift. ***1) They made the mistake and now want to charge $7.95 x 2 for re-stocking. 2) They didn't give me any credit for the second order. I sent all the literature with a letter of explanation, but got the form-letter of re-stocking. Also wrote the home company two weeks ago and still no response! No
More Shoes.com, I'll stay with a more reputable company!
I have spoken with customer service multiple times about regarding a refund after nearly 3 weeks without resolve. I've learned my lesson here. A good price doesn't stack up if the return policy has no integrity. May pay a little more from Zappos, but they're true to their word on returns or exchanges. Lesson learned.
How can this company still be in business? How can they send a competely different shoe that is EVEN a different size. OMG would never order from them again!
Do your research before you buy from this company--it has a terrible online reputation. Alas, I didn't do my research. When my order finally arrived, shoes were the wrong brand, wrong size, and wrong color. Called customer service, got my return ticket and was told they would wave the restocking fee, and refund my money when they received the shoes. Two weeks later and I am still waiting. The only way to get the shoes I want (and they are the only ones to at least claim they carry them) was to reorder. Order #2 came--wrong brand, wrong size, wrong color. Same drill--return the shoes and wait for a refund. A month after my initial purchase, the company has nearly $200 of my money and I still have no shoes. Customer service rep didn't seem at all surprised by the above problems and offered me the same 30% sale price on the shoes that is currently advertised on their web site should I be foolish enough to order for a 3rd time. When I finally did my consumer research on the company, I learned that my experience with this company was pretty much par for the course. Buyer beware.
Answer: Apparently they do not care. Not a real good omen for staying in business very long.
Answer: Stay away! I tried to make an exchange, and they charged me for the new shoes and then claimed that returned shoes were worn and damaged and wouldn't give me my money back. I wore them long enough to try them on and even then the shoes were so small and stiff that I couldn't get my feet into them! I asked the customer service "manager" (the 4th "manager" I spoke to) if we are allowed to try on the shoes and shes said "yes of course" to which I said then why do you consider what I did wearing them? She didn't have an answer. This is a scam to sell off damaged or defective merchandise. Stay away.
