Customer service is slow to respond and shipping and handling costs are obscene! I don't know why it is such a battle to get combined shipping!
99% of things on the websites are not only more expensive than stuff in their stores, but more expensive than eBay too.
I bid on a brooch, weighs 3 oz, paid $7 on a winning bid, ended up paying $17.85 for shipping and handling!
The bids are outrageous on certain items. I wonder if they have people bidding up the pricing and the online items are not tax deductible.
When you say estimated shipping (which is always too high) then why do you not return $ if shipping is lower than your estimated price?
I have been shopping Goodwill's online auction for years. They have gone from bad to deplorable. I don't understand how they are not held accountable for the unconscionable way they do business. I totally agree with the negative reviews posted on this site as well as many others. To think they use their lying and cheating business tactics under the guise of helping disabled individuals. What a lie! I bid on and won an auction at the Spokane, WA Goodwill on 3/12/18. The item was lost. Spoke extensively with FedEx and it was confirmed that the package was lost. FedEx provided me with a claim number to provide to the sender. I could not believe how they basically disavowed any obligation to provide a refund. According to their policy they relinquish the claim to the buyer and It's your responsibility to get a refund from FedEx. I will never bid from this location again! They are a bunch of uncaring scumbags! They are so full of it. As others have stated, their shipping and handling is ridiculous. I believe they overcharge and keep the difference. Personally, I am on a mission to have them investigated for the way they do business. I'm contacting the BBB in Spokane and other agencies who can investigate them. On a personal note: I have a disabled daughter who works at the local Goodwill and am disgusted how Goodwill work these hardworking, dedicated workers for slave wages and it is considered legal. What kind of organization takes advantage of disabled individuals like my daughter and others to fatten the salaries of their CEOs and others in their organization? It's sad because my beautiful daughter and others love their jobs, are hardworking and just want to be accepted like anyone else. In addition to stealing from people that buy and support the local stores and online auctions, how can they take advantage of God's beautiful and special people? Woe to them. What does it profit a man to gain the whole world and lose his soul? There is a day of reckoning for us all.
Ususally Goodwill is just a few days behind on shipping. It's understandable due to employees battling covid throughout the pandemic and such. But The Redwood Empire Goodwill specifically told me that my order would be shipped last Friday - eight days after purchase - (This is Tuesday) and was not. When I inquired the 2nd time I was advised that their store was waiting on shipping/packing supplies. REALLY? You guys can't maintain a level of supplies to fulfill your customer's shipping needs? You guys couldn't have gone to a Wal-Mart or Dollar General and picked up some supplies to hold you over til the actual shipment arrived? Way to go in putting your customers FIRST! You have exhibited very poor management skills and inventory awareness making for a poorly run business. People should NOT have to wait 11 days to get tracking because you can't pay enough attention to detail to order shipping supplies to stay fully timely and functional in your operation. SHAME ON YOU GOODWILL OF REDWOOD EMPIRE! I can not recommend purchasing from this particular store if you want your goods in a timely manner.
Answer: It did not get lost they did not get the price they wanted for the said item so it's lost they will wait for a while and realist it under a different item number and raise the shipping price and bid price with the auto bods so they can get a higher price for the item
Answer: Well look at the salary of their CEO vs. The salary of the Salvation Army's CEO. That will tell you what kind of "non-profit" it is.
Answer: If buyer got to leave their personal experiences with this company, they wouldn't exist in a year. They aren't going to risk that. Only honest sellers want their information posted for everyone to see. So don't expect it from Goodwill.
Answer: If you aren't using paypal or a credit card, there isn't much recourse. With paypal, the seller has to prove you received the item. If they can't, you will get your money back.
