Horrible customer service. DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE! Its an overpriced, glorified, air mattress... with failure points... then when it fails, they want to phone troubleshoot rather than actually fix the issue. If there was a negative satisfaction number I would give them a -5. RUN from this procuct and support that it is tied to.
Had my Queen Performance Sleep Number since 2015. When I had taken it apart to move I noticed the foam piece that lays between the air chambers and pillow top mattress cover was torn around where the air chamber edges were hitting it, and it looked close to the whole edge being ripped off.
I called customer service last Nov or Dec and told the lady the situation. She said they would be sending new parts, never said anything about cost or that I would be paying anything. On the return label and order it included the foam sidewalls so I sent in those too. I never received the replacement parts so I called a few weeks ago and the gentleman I talked to was very nice, but told me the original order had never been put through and that my total was $383.59! I was kind of shocked, I did explain to him my original conversation with CS, and he apologized. I felt like there was nothing I could do because I had already sent them my parts so I obviously needed the new ones. Paid them.
Got my parts yesterday, except I received the pillow top mattress cover instead of the foam. I call and she says that piece isn't on the order, YEP exactly! So now they tell me I owe another $100+. I ask them what about the piece that I never even needed that I paid almost $300 for? She told me I can ship that back and they'll refund me. Lots of wasted time on this.
Good customer service would have just sent me the freaking foam topper for free seeing as they screwed up several times.
I have had the bed for a number of months the underbed lighting comes on in the middle of the night, I turn it off and it comes on when I am in bed, sleepnumber tech support had me unplug it and plug it back in. It worked for a little while then started up again, I got tired of unplugging and plugging in the bed; after calling again I had to argue for 40 minutes to get a tech to come to the house to fix the sensor it took another 6 minutes to get a tech scheduled. Hopefully the problem gets fixed
My bed starting leaking and their customer service is HORRIBLE! They do offer service, at your expense, and they are way booked out (since they have a lot of leaks) so I have no bed for 2 months. <<< AVOID >>>
WE PURCHASED OUR MATTRESS AS WELL AS THE MECHANICAL BED FRAME, AND ABOUT TWO WEEKS LATER, WE DECIDED, NEITHER OF US, COULD GET A DECENT NIGHT'S SLEEP...
THEN WHEN WE WANTED TO RETURN IT, ALL HELL BROKE LOSE AND THEY WANTED TO CHARGE ME AN ADDITIONAL $250.00 TO REMOVE IT, AND THEN THEY WOULD TAKE BACK THE ADDITIONAL HARDWARE, THE TILTING MECHANISM WAS NON REFUNDABLE, SO BUYING AND RETURNING THE MATTRESS COST ME $4600.00 ADDITIONAL.!
DO NOT BUY THESE BEDS, UNLESS YOU ENJOY SLEEPING ON A BLOW-UP MATTRESS AND THEN TAKING A LARGE CHUNK OF FUNDS OUT OF YOUR WALLET AND THROWING IT AWAY,,, BECAUSE THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED TO ME!
GIVING IT 1 STAR, IS A COMPLETE OVERSTATEMENT!
When we were buying our sleep number bed in November of 2019, the sales rep simply said it would be covered by a 25 year warranty, which sounds impressive, but they failed to mention that after only 2 years, we would have to start paying for at least a portion of the repairs (both parts and labor) and from what I've heard, people that bought sleep number beds more recently get an even shorter period than that before they start having to pay for repairs. As it is, our sleep number bed has been very unreliable. In just over 2 years that we've owned it, we've had to have the pump replaced once, and an air chamber replaced once, which were completely paid for, but now, one of the foot warmers needs to be replaced, but they would expect me to pay over $150 to have a technician come over and replace the part. I declined the repair because it isn't worth that much to me to get it fixed, given how much I spent on the bed, and also because the foot warmer still works on the lowest setting. Please learn from our mistake buying from them and don't believe their claim that they have such an awesome warranty!
The bed is a glorified air mattress. The customer service from Terry at the Geneva location and the women that works there is horrible. They do not return calls. When I bought it, Terry said the only dollars I would be out if I returned the bed was the $250 delivery fee. Then he remembered that was waived for Memorial Day and I would be out nothing. This was important to me as I had not shopped around yet and would not have bought without further research. He said why not try it since I'd get a full refund and not lose on a delivery fee due to the Holiday. Now I find out there is a return fee of $250. When I told him I'm disappointed that he did not volunteer this information to me, he called me a liar. He claims there is no possibility he mistakenly left out that information, therefore I am a liar. Basically, he claims to be incapable of error. The lady that works with him who I first spoke with promised that they would call back about my situation but clearly they disregarded me call.
Worst customer experience of my life. Will not ever do business with them again. They treat you like you are an inconvenience once they have your money.
Terrible. $8,000 for a flex fit bed and we have a 7" gap between our head that your pillow falls through at night. We've dealt with it for years. Couldn't allow our kids to sleep in bed with us for fear they'd fall into it and suffocate when they were little. I finally have had it and refuse to sleep with a body pillow between my husband and I every night to attempt to fill the gap. They supposedly compensate for upgrades but the mattress we want to replace it with is a model down and on sale so they won't compensate in any way. $3,600 more to replace a mattress that should be perfect still 5 years out! So, their warranty only covers individual parts-then replace each part of the mattress until it is fixed, I don't care! I've been told by 2 salesmen that it's been redesigned due to the flaw and clearly the newer model is better. I would never buy from them again. Now I'm stuck with a very expensive base and will have to go buy a new mattress elsewhere I guess. How can they be in business if they don't stand by their product?
I have this sleep number bed my wife and I purchased, we were excited at first due to us both having lower back problems. We were on the edge due to a big purchase. Big mistake, worst bed ever, from the day we made purchase it took almost 2 months for bed delivery, once delivered and assembled by sleep numbers techs, they broke the bed plug in wall outlets which left my bed disabled. We also purchased their expensive bed sheets which discolored within the first month and started tearing up high where the split is, we have a hole on our sheets maybe 12" wide. They did take care of broken plug 1 month later from when it first happened. I now have a leak in one of the air chambers, my mattress hangs off on one side, I reached out to customer service being bed should be under warranty, it's a new bed and expensive I might add. They refuse to take care of any issues I have unless I want to pay for new sheets and new air chamber out of pocket on top of also paying for a tech to come out and replace air chamber. People this is by far the worst bed out there, don't waste your time or spend your hard earned money on these poor made beds and not have the support or warranty to back it up. There is plenty of good beds out there for a 1/4 of the price. So your research and stay away from these crappy beds, once they have your money, that's all they care about. I've called them spoke to representatives, managers and they tell me their is nothing they can do for me to resolve my issues unless I pay for parts myself which should be covered. Coincidentally all the times I called no one ever placed any notes to my issues or notes were deleted.
I PURCHASED A SLEEP NUMBER BED FROM THE BLUFFTON-HILTON HEAD ISLAND SOUTH CAROLINA SLEEP NUMBER STORE. THE SALES REPS WERE GREAT BUT THE PRODUCT IS TOTAL JUNK!
WITHIN A WEEK OF DELIVERY THE ELECTRONICS FAILED AND THE LEFT SIDE WILL NOT HOLD AIR.
I TRIED TO GET A REFUND BUT THEY REFUSE TO GIVE ME BACK THE DELIVERY FEE! WISH I HAD A BUSINESS WHERE I COULD CHARGE SOMEONE FOR A FAULTY PRODUCT AND GET AWAY WITH THIER MONEY AND NOT STAND BEHIND THE PRODUCT! I SPENT $1400 FOR A MATTRESS THATS TOTAL JUNK AND NOW I GET THE PLEASURE OF SLEEPING ON MY SOFA!
SLEEP NUMBERS RESPONSE WILL ONLY MAKE YOU REALIZE THEY ABSOLUTELY DO NOT CARE ABOUT THE CUSTOMER THEY JUST BASICALLY ROBBED OF THIER HARD EARNED MONEY! THEY EVEN WANT TO CHARGE YOU $200 TO PICK UP THEIR FAULTY PRODUCT!
ANYONE THINKING ABOUT SPENDING YOUR MONEY HERE BETTER STEP BACK AND THINK HARD ON THAT THOUGHT…
YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED! PLEASE PASS THIS ALONG TO ANYONE YOU KNOW THAT IS THINKING OF BUYING A NEW MATTRESS.
If you buy a product for a Christmas gift from any company website that has a clue, they will let you know if you can expect the product before Christmas. Not Sleep Number, they don't mention anything about your order showing up after Christmas even though I ordered it on Dec 17th. Turns out it's arriving on Dec 28th!
And then when I use the Chat to complain, the rep says that this is their shipping policy... bedding orders only ship 4 business days after placing the order. I ordered a freakin pillow, how does that take 4 days to process. Then the rep ends the chat before I'm done typing!
NEVER BUY FROM THIS COMPANY!
Only reason I gave three stars is because the product is good. Our bed was scheduled for delivery on April 16,2021. The delivery was made an hour late by two men who could not properly communicate in English and who did not represent Sleep Number in a positive light. In addition to the mattress, we had bought the Flex Fit Adjustable Frame. The store salesperson told us the legs on the frame were adjustable from 6" to 11" but the delivery people insisted they were not adjustable. They left the mattress and frame in our garage and said they would come back another time. I called Customer Service, who explained how the legs were adjustable, and together we decided that a longer leg would work better and arranged with them to send us the 16" to 19" legs. I asked Customer Service not to allow the original delivery men to deliver to us again. The same men showed up on April 21st to install the bed. They argued with us about how the frame would fit and were generally disagreeable. Luckily, this bed should last us the rest of our lives because I would never go through again what we experienced with the Sleep Number delivery.
I bought 6 mattresses from this company (5 king & 1 queen mattress all at once) and it was the biggest mistake I ever did. The company does not stand behind its super-overpriced product and flat out lies to customers on the phone when someone requests service. I had this done to me multiple times, for different issues. A couple of days ago, I spent 3 1/2 hours on the phone with them, trying to figure out another problem which at the time could not be resoled unless they sent a technician over. And yet again, they wanted to charge me for the service call. To add to this, the technicians that eventually came failed do the job properly. There is no specific protocol to be followed by them, no paperwork given to me on the service, and no paper-trace for me to call and complain... how convenient... right? This company sucks! They have the worse service. They have come to my house 4 times so far and each time they fail to rise to the occasion and prove me wrong when I say that they really suck! Don't buy the Sleep Number mattresses. I am sure there are alternative choices out there, more economical, sold by companies that stand behind their product. Sleep Number certainly does not stand behind its products. They should be ashame of the way the treat their customers. They are an absolute disgrace!
We bought a split top king sized sleep number bed 2y 3 m ago. Paid $10K for it, but justified the price because husband has back problems and it had a 25 year warranty. It did not help the back problems. It is a glorified air mattress that requires special (expensive) sheets. Didn't like it from the beginning. After contacting Sleep Number within the "try it for 100 nights" campaign found out that the "try it for 100 nights" is only to change the base, not return the whole bed. Now, 3 months past the 100% warranty (which lasts 2 years) we got a message that the foot warmer has a problem and we should call customer service. They want to replace it for $249 (they said that is 32% of the cost which is what the warranty now covers) plus a $99 technician fee. I told them to cancel the order. What happened to the "25 year warranty"? It makes me nauseous that we haven't even finished paying for this bed (we used their financing after making a sizeable down payment) and we are already stuck with breaking parts. We will probably end up getting rid of it, taking thousands of dollars in a loss. So frustrating!
Awful company. Took 6 months for them to fix double billing of $5000 bed, then bed broke in 1 year and they made us pay for the parts to fix it. Wish we never bought from them.
Disabled vet and disabled spouse purchased this I8 bed in March 2015 and have had continuous problems with this gap and slant of mattress on both sides. We paid over $7,019.96 for this bed yet it is unbearable to sleep in at night. I contacted Customer Service and they state Sleep Number finds a 6" gap acceptable on these beds. So if you want to sleep on a slant and can use only 1/2 of the twin side of a bed then this is the bed for you. We own 3 Sleep Number beds and this is the worst of all. Military disabled vet has breathing issues as well as spouse so this bed was supposed answer to these issues BUT it does not come with a warning that your bed will separate and slant to the center so both partners are miserable. I find this unacceptable practice for Sleep Number Company to know there was a design problem from the beginning of marketing since I was told they tested a strap to hold bed together but found it tore open so that was removed and it is their choice to market a bed with severe issues to sleeping a conducive night of rest. I sleep most nights in our living room on couch since this bed causes me so much back pain fighting to stay in a position hugging the edge of bed.
Note: Sleep Number took down this first review of this bed so we will see if they only allow good reviews to be written on site.
Worst Scam Ever
The sales people blatantly lie to your face. I asked sales associate Desiree if the bed was fullly refundable, and she stated with a smile no less, yes it is, except for a 199$ service fee. I agreed to the service fee believing I could get a refund of my $7500. Come to find out when I tried to return, they are stating they will not refund the flex base. DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM SLEEP NUMBER. THE SALES STAFF BLATANTLY LIE TO YOU!
Sleep Number bed promotes the "100 Night Trial."
I was led to believe that the trial would be free. When we purchased the mattress, we were told about the $200 (two hundred dollars) delivery fee. It seemed high for delivery, but we agreed to it. What we did NOT agree to, was the $249 (two hundred and forty-nine dollars) delivery fee for the return of the mattress. To my best knowledge, this is above the cost of any deliveries in our area. Deliveries for large items in our area are below $100, when there is a cost at all. High-priced items such as these (this mattress was almost $3000 (three thousand dollars) carry no shipping fees at all. I was also told I cannot return the mattress my own. I did speak with Veronica, the "case manager" who told me she did not care about my reporting their practices, and that she would not work with me.
This amounts to deception. The "100 Night Trial" really costs $500 (five hundred dollars rounded up with taxes) for those of us who find the sleep number mattress impossible to sleep on.
This company is a joke. Scammers at that. I went in to there store to try there beds out was told with every matress to lay down than they would air it down to where I like it than air it back up before I would get off it. Did this with each mattress was kinda excited about buying one. Paid 200$ for delivery was no other option after having the matress for one night it just wasn't working for me. I honestly couldn't tell the difrence between my air matress for camping and the one I purchased from sleep number. Called them to return it was told could not return it until 30 days called back 14 days and they setup a pick up date for two weeks than was informed it was going to cost 200$ more just for them to pick it up... I'm out 400$ for something that took 10 min to setup and no jk 1 min to pick up for one night of use... don't buy if you don't try rolling around in it
Answer: For sleep number mattresses...YOU pay for return shipping even though it doesn't cost $249 to ship it back they're going to make money off of it
