Biggest Regret
February 10, 2021

The worst purchase we've ever made. The $8k spent is not the issue. The issue is that the bed is uncomfortable, wakes you up when it does the air adjustment thing and has taken up a large amount of time for us to be on the phone with customer service just to figure out all things wrong with the best.
Learn from our mistake and DO NOT PURCHASE A SLEEP NUMBER BED

We walk into a sleep number store and was quickly greeted by a friendly salesman. He gave us the five star treatment. He had us lay on every bed finishing with the flag star unit with the 6k speaker system with the overhead tv saying why this bed is the best in the world.
After the presentation, he said if you buy today, we will throw in etc, etc, etc. ( high pressure sales) We were reluctant, but the salesman told us he had one for years and they never break and some other sales person backed them up with the same statement. We decided to go with the I8.
Then we were handed a contract to sign, and this where we made our mistake. The salesman quickly told us what the contract had to say, point out that he had some more customers if the store, and "don't worry about it, sleep number backs up their product" ( complete lie)
Once we got it home, we at first thought it was cool because of the features.
In about 11 months, my wife's side kept deflating. After many calls we quickly found out that when this thing, that NEVER breaks does break, and even before we got it payed off. Most importantly, you have to come out of pocket for both the parts and labor for their "warranty".
Bottom line, we bought a glorified air mattress. Not even close to being worth it. My advise DON'T BUY!

I've had a Sleep Number bed for the last 20 years and its been the best sleep of my life. Unfortunately, my mattress split apart from wear and tear and I ordered a new one. When the delivery person came, he immediately said, "That's not going to be able to get up the narrow stairs". I asked him to try because the moving got my old Sleep Number up the stairs. It does take strategy and with thinking it through it can work. They tried and said they can't do it. Ok I do get that part but what I heard after that was NO NO, NO from three customer service reps and two more NO's from the delivery team. They wanted nothing to do with trying to help. I asked them if they could take the base apart and that I can't be the only person having this problem. They said no...I could upgrade to a King which comes in two pieces or a split Queen which did not have adjustable base. I am so disappointed in the company. They weren't like this 20 years ago. The idea of searching for another bed that can be as comfortable is heart wrenching for me. Unfortunately, I can't recommend this company sheerly based on the customer service experience I had today.

A Great Mattress - Until It Wasn't
June 18, 2021

After nearly four years of peaceful sleep, I awoke to lying in the Marianna Trench. My mattress was apparently exhausted in more ways than one, one also being my new sleep number. It took two weeks for what I thought would be a repair team to come to the house. Nope. For $99 (not covered under warranty), they just diagnose the problem. Except they didn't, explaining it could be one of several problems and I was to call the next day with the results of the experiment they left me to do.
After being passed through three customer service representatives I was informed I needed a new air chamber (68% covered by warranty; credit card please) plus, yes, that will be another $99 service call. The repair part is shipped to your house. Then you get to wait, again, for a service team to arrive to install it.
As for repair service, my first call was disconnected. My second call I was informed you do not find out until two days before the service exactly what time they will arrive. So if you schedule your life more than two days in advance, be prepared to take the entire day off. In my case, they called at 7AM the day of the appointment to reschedule the arrival time. I will say that all their service representatives were very polite.
If you are considering a Sleep Number mattress, here is my advice. Understand the 15-year warranty depreciates faster than a new car and the service call is not included. If and when the bed breaks, bring your patience, your checkbook, and acquire a spare mattress to sleep on for a month.

I called Sleep Number four times with issues about the base. Four times I left my number and never received a call back! If we buy another bed, it will not be Sleep Number!

Don't walk away, RUN AWAY! Do not trust them when they tell you that you do not need a remote for the adjustable bases. Although that may be true initially, just wait until you have issues with the adjustable base because it WILL HAPPEN! In order to trouble shoot the base you HAVE TO HAVE THE REMOTE! Oh and the fact that you have spent $11,000 for the bed does not matter! You still have to BUY the stupid remote!

I literally spoke to the manufacturer of the adjustable base and the remotes are included for free with the bases. However, they try to ding you another $50 for the stupid remote that they received for FREE! HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THEM! THEY WILL NOT HELP YOU IF YOU HAVE ISSUES!

By the way, if this happens to you, call the base manufacturer. They will at least send you the remote for the cost of shipping and will actually TRY TO HELP YOU!

WHAT A JOKE SLEEP NUMBER! TERRIBLE SERVICE! I will be posting this review on EVERY site that I can find!

I will NEVER BUY FROM YOU AGAIN and EVERYONE that I know will hear about this story! I did't even $#*!er with you on the cost of the bed. That's what I get for being a good customer? SHAME ON YOU!

The adverstisements look great and the customers on tv and celebrities on the radio make you think this bed will solve your sleep problems. This is the worst bed I have ever used. It was also the most expensive. The bed is not infinitely adjustable. It adjust in increments of 5 so if you want a 52, you have to go with 50 or 55. Now that seems petty, but when 50 is too soft and 55 is too firm, what are your options? I wake up at least 3-4 times a night in this bed. I shift from side to side and cannot stay comfortable in one spot even when I am on my back. If I get 3 solid hours of sleep I consider it a win. The bed does not constantly adjust to your body. It adjusts when I get in it and that is it for the night. No matter how I toss and turn, it stays the same. The trench effect that you may read about on other sites is real. You can get lost in the middle of the mattress and have to climb out to one side or the other. We thought this would be a mattress that we would enjoy, but it is a very overpriced nightmare and a waste of money. When you see the advertisement for mattresses under $1000, do not believe it. After you buy the mattress, frame, and their mattress cover (they will not warranty your mattress without their overpriced cover), it is easy to be over $3000 for a bed. Open your wallet and watch the money fly out. For that same price, you could buy a really nice mattress that will not let you down.

Just like the story there are lumps that make the bed very uncomfortable. Spoke to cs several times there is no way to fix it.

Besides this the edges of the bed and middle of the bed is made some sort of wall that does not move with the air mattress making these area unusable. You cannot sleep in the middle of the bed without feeling like there is a high spot under you. Same for the edges. This removes about 18 inches from the bed side to side. I hope you are a toothpick.

They say there is a 100 day trial period. What they fail to say is that is for the mattress not the base. So you can return the mattress but you are stuck paying for the frame. It does not matter because the base is universal, right? At least that is what they say. Nope, another manufacture said it would void the warranty.

The bed will deflate over time. I found the mattress nearly empty without anything telling me it was deflated. If it is set on 65 and it is really at 5 it should let you know.

The controller has to be rebooted over and over or the remote loses connection. The be does develop a low spot. The cover over the air mattresses will move deforming the bed.

Do not purchase a sleep number bed! It is the worst purchase I have ever made.

Have had bed for just under 3 years. For the last year there has been a progressively bad dip in the middle of the bed (so that we end up rolling to center several times a night and have to "climb" back to our sides). Called for repair. Had to pay just under $300 for replacement pieces. Was scheduled, received confirmation 2 days before appoitnment for repair. Called day before to confirm correct address (when i made the initial appointment i told them i had moved and provided new address). Found out the day before (when i called to confirm) they didn't update the address. They updated it an confirmed we were still on for next day. A few hours later we receive NEW appointment time that was 2 weeks later. Rescheduled us without calling... they assigned us a day we were out of town. Called to try and fix and found out there were no earlier dates and to reschedule is going to push us out even further. So we'll sleep on our couches for the next 2 weeks. Sure hope they don't decide to cancel without explanation and call again as we've now moved our trip to accomodate new appt. Will not be purchasing another one of these beds.

We purchased our queen mattress 6 years ago. We loved it! Then the pump went. Called customer service and they sent out a service guy. He said we need a new pump and that customer service would call and arrange it. They did, with a price tag of $200 (wow what a warranty) but whatever we need the pump so okay please order it. 3 weeks later no pump arrives so I check my credit card and there is the charge, so I call the customer service # and they inform me that these pumps are on back order and have been since last February. So, the girl tells me I have to pay for the pump and then I will be added to the back-order list with no ETA. None?!?! They have no idea when they will be available to ship. (You know the same BS chain supply issues) Now paying $200 already had me irked but paying $200 for something that I might not receive for a year (again she had no clue and couldn't even guess) I ask what else we could do, and she told me "You can buy a new 360 mattress" WHAT!?!?! I guess I will be purchasing a new mattress, but it certainly will not be a sleep #

This mattress feels exactly like an air mattress. We got ours over a month ago and I haven't been able to have a good night sleep since. I am a healthy 125 lbs person with no chronic pain. Every morning I wake up sore in this bed all over and sometimes with sciatica pain.
You definitely sink towards the middle at night. The sleep IQ is just a joke. It tracks my sleep from 6-11 pm?! When I'm not even in bed. We called and told them that the bed squeaks. A technician came to check it. We said that it feels and sounds like air mattress. He said yes! IT IS AN AIR MATTRESS! They should say that to everyone. This is an expensive air mattress. And there's no free trial! The mattress was 1300$ and they deduct shipping fee when you return it which is total of 500$. I am so happy they delayed our delivery last minute and I canceled the frame that I ordered. I read everywhere that you can't return that. Much different than what we tried in the store. And the worse part is, I wrote two reviews with low rating and they deleted them. I talked to customer service which told me they review them and delete spams. No wonder on theirs website their rating is above 4 and everywhere else it's 2/5! They tricked me with this!

My wife and I ordered a bed a month and a half in advance for our relocation across the country. We had a delivery date set a month in advance.
The day of the scheduled delivery, I received a call saying that the bed wouldn't be delivered for another 2 weeks. We called our sales rep Tami because we had no place to stay after that night. She said she moved the delivery date to the next day (a day after our originally scheduled date).
That day, the bed was not delivered during the scheduled timeframe. We received an email and call saying that the delivery had again been pushed back, this time 7 days. We tried calling and texting Tami multiple times, but never got a response. When we called the store, they said she was busy with a customer.
Although we canceled our order (after waiting on hold for 30 mins), we have incurred another 4 nights of hotel expenses while we wait for another company to deliver a mattress. I wish we had never considered Sleep Number and would strongly advise people to avoid ordering from them.

If I could get a no star I would rate it
My experience with this company I thought it was good until after 60 days using the $4500 mattress that I was told by the salesman that I would not regret the purchase, well here I am, I honestly think they're product it is NOT worth $4500, So I called the 800 number to inform that I wasn't happy with it and to come back at to pick it up, we'll the representative stated that I was going to get only $1,800, $200 they were going to deduct it for restocking fee, I asked about the platform, he simply stated that it was not cover for return, that in the fine print states that that base the sale was final, so, I'm stuck with a piece of@/:^%# and $2,500 in the hole, all they representative said was " I'm sorry", (you got stiffed) frustrating that they NEVER, EVER MENTIONED ANYTHING ABOUT THAT WHEN I MADE THE PURCHASE, my advice, STAY AWAY FROM SLEEP NUMBER (POS), a $50 Walmart air mattress selling for $4,500. Priceless.

I have a Sleep Number bed we have had it since December 2016 we do not like the way the chambers are on the queen mattresses.
My husband has his sleep number less firm than mine so when he's not in bed with me I adjust my bed and then as soon as he gets into bed the excess air in his pushes over to mine and makes mine more firm I do not like it. It is uncomfortable it has made my knee messed up as and my hips.
I have called sleep number to help me Resolve these issues they have sent me one pad for the bottom of my bed because I Can Feel the Bass and I'm waiting for the top part of my bed to make it more comfortable they keep telling me for the last 2 months it's on backorder it's on backorder will this is becoming ridiculous and I do not like my Sleep Number. I do not recommend anybody to buy one. I strongly suggest go spend your money somewhere else because it's not worth the money. They also told us when we bought the bed that it will not get hot like a memory foam well it gets hot like a memory foam and the sheets they tell you to buy to keepe it cooler does not work and now they say oh you can buy the cooling system for $1,700 are you freaking kidding me. Why would I invest more money into a bed I do not like..

We bought 2 beds a few years back; the I8 and the C2 for our son. The base of the I8 warped and they replaced it without charge. My son's bed got a crack in the plastic where the hose connects into the chamber. This is not from rough housing but cheap manufacturing. I was told that the warranty is on a sliding scale after 2 years and it was going to be $88. The rep was an absolute jerk. He asked how on earth would both beds be leaking. He actually started singing and humming to a melody that he made up. I couldn't make this up if I tried. I was pretty annoyed and then he told me that I signed paperwork that clearly stated this. I told him he sounded like a used car salesman and to stop all the singing and chitter chatter and take my credit card and I would never buy another bed from Sleep Number again and would leave a nasty review. You know that &$#@ brought up the paperwork again? I am still problem solving the I8 before I give them another red penny. This company is a joke and needs to do a better job of hiring customer service reps. Buyer beware and if you call customer service and get a singing rep tell him to suck it

We ordered a top of the line Climate Control 360 bed during the President's Day Sale. Delivery time was going to be 6 weeks. Ten days after ordering, we got an e-mail ad from Sleep Number showing the bed we ordered at $700 LESS than we were paying. The store manager said, "No problem, call customer service and request the lower price under our standard 30 day price match guarantee. Once an order is placed any changes have to go through customer service." Customer service said they couldn't find the ad we were talking about so we e-mailed it to them. Two different customer service managers told us they would not honor the lower price. We cancelled the order the next morning. At that time we found out the $1100.00 headboard we ordered could not be cancelled because it was "custom upholstery" and cannot be returned, no matter that it hadn't been made or shipped yet. An interesting note here is every Sleep Number store has several "custom upholstery" headboards identical to the one we ordered in the store, so it isn't really a custom item, just a corporate scam.

We ordered a top of the line hybrid matress and adjustable base from another comany on Friday and it was delivered Sunday morning. It was a third of the Sleep Number price and we didn't have to wait six weeks.

FREE TRIAL IS A SCAM!
November 3, 2020

So the basic story is that I went to Sleep Number to get some good sleep and when it was all said and done, they didn't refund my money and I still owe them money even though I returned the bed in the FREE TRIAL PERIOD. Before I got the bed, I was assured that everything would be refunded. I don't have money to be giving away. I wanted to invest in a nice bed but all I got was a nice ride to the SCAMVILLE. Never in my life, I was lied to soooo bad. I understand that the salesman and sleep number are there to make money but they shouldn't have to lie, cheat, and steal to get it. I don't appreciate it and my sore back doesn't either.
