Soft Surroundings

First time I ordered was in Aug. & after completing the order I found out I had to wait 24 hrs. Before finding out that it would not ship until Dec., so I canceled. I should have learned as I ordered again & it still has not been delivered. I will never order from this store again as customer service is of no help.

I ordered a robe on June 6th, it is now July 27th, still haven't received it. It never said out of stock or on back order. It was finally shipped Lon July 19th and the tracking number is useless. When I called FedEx they said it was and has been in Hutchinson Tx for the last 5 days. They said for me to call Soft Surrounding and ask them to file a claim. I did and they told me they can't file claims til 10 days after shipping.
I would have never ordered it had I known it would take over a month + to receive it. This is the last time I will ever order any from them. Horrible customer service.

I ordered 600 dollars worth of clothes for wife for xmas, i ordered 3 weeks out, then told most were coming in after xmas, the only item coming on time was the free faux throw, i canceled, they were pretty easy about that, but... i really wanted to surprise my wife with all the things she picked out. If at time of ordering i knew the time delay, i would have not even bothered. Reading all the reviews here, the same theme comes up a lot. They did cancel it right away when I asked, to be honest i was hoping they would rush ship, or something. Can you imagine letting 600 dolllars in sales go away like that? I guess they make money some other way.

Lots of beautiful clothing here - very high quality materials and design. The stores are an experience. Associates are very friendly and helpful. Website is easy to navigate and I complete purchases very quickly. The catalog is beautiful - love receiving it every month!

I love soft surroundings! I love their clothing! Yes, there have been some problems with timeliness in my returns during Covid, but we all have struggled, so please give them a pass on this one. They are wonderfully helpful on the phone When I've placed orders that they have not been able to fulfill due to demand, they have compensated me for these inconveniences. I will continue to shop there because their clothes are beautifully unique thank you Soft Surroundungs!

I've been getting catalogs for a number of years and ordered some items over the years, however, I don't know why they charge so much for their clothing. The quality is no better than Macys or JC Penny! I've had a pair of slacks that turned to some weird color when washed, a sweater that unraveled before I got it out of the bag, winter tops that were so thin it was ridiculous. I'm just not loving the quality of these overly priced items. I have been disappointed everytime. The clothing is very pretty but that's all. I will just ask them not to send anymore catalogs.

I received a catalogue with a lovely dress that I wanted to purchase. The item is also shown on the website. Started receiving pop ups with pictures of a blouse that I also liked. Received catalogue with photos of the blouse and dress last weekend. Tried to order both items. One not available until after June, the other until after July. Isn't it false advertising to show items that are not in your inventory? Ordered pants in February that won't be available until after Memorial Day. Nothing said on the site about a delay. Never again.

You have NO idea how it breaks my heart to write this review. But, I need to make sure others know what to expect. I'm sure that the company had to have been sold. Their customer service is now among the WORST in the country. I am STILL waiting for a refund on items I returned almost 3 months ago! And they promised they'd follow up and call me back (2 of their reps promised to call me back within 24 hours -- one being a manager!). NO RETURNED CALLS! And, I just received two items I ordered on "final sale." BE WARNED! If the item arrives and clearly is 2 sizes bigger than what the tag says (and you KNOW how their sizes run because you've purchased dozens of items from them over the years), they will not allow you to return it! And, if you order something on "final sale" and you follow the instructions to the letter on laundering it, and you find that 2 of the buttons have fallen offer (you run back to the laundry room and someone else already has their clothes in the washing machine). The buttons are never found. They REFUSE to even give you an online credit. You're stuck with the items. Unfortunately, this is one customer who will never do business with them again. They used to create the most fabulous clothing and had THE BEST customer service -- not the case now SO sad...

This is the second time I've come across this issue with Soft Surroudings. The items photograph beautifully, so I thought I'd give them another chance. I looked at a top - it was on sale for $19 in a size XL and $50 in a 1X. I called customer service and got the run around - everything from "we'll make I. T. aware of the error" to "It's our policy". Furthermore, was shocked to see they charge for shipping no matter the size of the order and will charge a handling fee as well as return shipping if something doesn't work out. So, the person who orders an XL and likes her purchase will pay $28, the person who orders a 1X and doesn't like her purchase will pay almost the same for NOTHING. No thanks - there are too many other retailers out there who offer great products with free shipping and excellent customer service.

This company has the worst return policy ever you return a item expecting the amount you paid less $7.95 because that's what it says on the return policy but no! You also have to pay the original amount of your shipping in other words you are going to be out a minimum of 20 to 25% of your original purchase what a joke and the quality is not that good I will never buy from them again and believe me I will tell anyone in my path to never ever ever buy from soft surroundings! EVER!

I was a faithful customer of Soft Surroundings for many years. I loved their unique clothing, styles, and the many natural fabrics they used. Now almost everything is a blend of natural & synthetic or a flat out synthetic fabric. Their catalogs don't provide as much detail about clothes as they used to, and often the way items are photographed you can't see the details of the item and there's nothing in the description that helps. Plus shipping and returns are expensive. These are all trends I am seeing in other women's clothing catalogs that I have purchased from for years. Fortunately I found an Asian seamstress who is willing to copy clothing items I already have and like. I purchase the fabric and send it to her. Even with mailing the fabric and item to be copied back snd forth it's the same or less cost than what I can get from Soft Surroundings. And I get my 100% cotton, linen, silk, etc.

I have TRIED to place 3 items so far from them. It takes around 2 months to get to me. I guess they ship from China maybe? The X-S was so HUGE that 2 people could get in there. Ordered XX-S and that was also HUGE.
I tried to order a top and perfume a month ago. Just realized I never got it. Called them today and turns out, there was no order placed by the customer service!
The images are great on their catalogs but the quality and customer service is extremely poor.

Soft Surroundings are way overpriced for the quality. Even the outlet is too expensive as well. I live on a fixed income and can't pay a lot for nice clothing! So here is what I do:

I am 63 but still very small. I wear a XS to S petite I like the classic wrap dress and just got one for $12.50 at Ebay. It was pre-owned but in perfect condition! I also got a classic wrap dress for $20. I have boho tops for pennies on the dolllar!

I like that the dresses have cotton in them. I hate polyester material. So this is how I buy Soft Surroudings clothing. At Ebay and hardly worn! Give it a try!
