Sudden interruption of funds confirmed. First sale on my website & they halted all my brick and mortar business transfers to "verify" my account. Asked to perform tasks that are literally impossible. (I have NO Delivery!) Online customer service useless. They only tell you to call in & wait for hours. Haven't fixed it days later. Data glitches, expensive equipment. And never link your Etsy. Etsy will take a cut of EVERY transaction on Square, no matter if it's an Etsy sale or not. GO WITH YOUR BANK, no matter how much more it costs! Square is not worth the hassle. I deeply regret this choice.
Never used square but Cash app is the same company. Horrible experience with direct deposit. They lie and say get your direct deposit 2 days early that's a lie. They hold your money until they see fit to give you the money You worked hard for. Go figure. I will never use them again as soon as I get my deposit (hopefully this century) im closing my account and going back to Chime. How dare these scummy companies tell us if and when we get Our hard earned money! I should have read the reviews first 95% are bad. And customer service are rude and read off of scripts you get no real resolution. I feel a class action lawsuit brewing.
Square has constantly been closed during business hours. They have delayed payments, and been extremely rude if you need anything from them. They say I don't know instead of finding out what's wrong and will completely end the chat while you're still asking questions.
They are the rudest company we have ever worked with. If you haven't signed up with them, I would suggest finding another route. Someone who has actually been trained on how to help others and help businesses. I'm beginning to wonder if Square is a shell company.
Ps I have used square for years and this year is the absolute worst. They have never been so outright rude and disrespectful. One of our businesses is photography the other is cleaning.
A deposit error happened to the wrong bank account and the customer service just hung up on me when i tried to get help called back to speak to a supervisor they would not transfer me then i started swearing after asking 5 times to pass me to the supervisor then he told me he would hang up if i continued swearing i told him i asked 5 times without swearing and you still did not do it so i accentuated my swearing 100% then he threatened to block my number thtas what those fkn idiots do when your money is lost. Saty away from square again i state it.
I was a Weebly customer for many years and they were really good but once they sold to Square, forget it. They have bugs in their system that will cost you money (eg randomly not charging the customer shipping) and their customer support is worthless.
Square has been the biggest disappointment I have ever experienced while being in business in the past ten years. I switched my multi million dollar company over and once I purchased the devises we quickly became a number. Would not recommend to any of my friends and family.
Square is an absolute garbage company. Zero communication, zero support, rates get hiked arbitrarily, bank transfers frozen with no warning or reason. These guys are thieves. Wish I could give them zero stars for wasting my and my business's time.
I know that's too much to ask. I can't tell how many times a simple phone call for support turned into a headache of repetitive times saying one's email name phone and so on. Not even getting to the problem or less likely getting an solution. Ridiculous Square. Stop using and outsourcing out of country to people who barley speak and understand the language let alone can here us talking. So frustrating to use a company that is riddled with software challenges —as a business owner I've about had it!
Our small business relied on Square for over four years, processing tens of thousands in sales. Then, one day, they decided to hold over $4,000 in payments being processed. They then proceeded to deactivate our account for absolutely no reason, citing that, per their General Terms of Service, they can drop us at any time for any or no reason. I called several times, had a couple of ongoing email threads. NOTHING. No reason given, zero support provided. This company does NOT have their customer's best interests at heart and openly preys on small businesses who can't fight back.
Have been utilizing square for my business as a licensed cosmetologist since 2011 without issues except for unexpected fees. However Friday 6/24/22 after finishing a few clients, I needed to transfer money over to my bank account and was told my account is "under review" for suspicious activity. I called and was unable to get any resolve. They have no fraud department so I'm not even sure who is "investigating my account". I asked to speak with a manager, was told one would return my call by end of business day Friday. It's now Monday 6/27/22, I'm still unable to withdraw money or get any customer service from the company. My business funds are on hold without reason. Was given a hold time of 24 hours and we are well past that. I have not had any charge backs, refunds, etc that would initiate a review. The lack of warning, explanation, compassion or integrity during a time that is already hard on business owners is unacceptable.
Answer: Square is a legit company, just a deeply unethical one that will leave you out to dry if they can get away with it. And they can get away with it.
