My company ships a lot of media mail (music books). With the USPS, we have to take the packages to the local post office. They won't allow you to print media mail labels on their USPS website. However, with Stamps.com, we are able to print the labels and the postal carrier picks up the package and scans it on the spot. This saves us a lot of time and money constantly driving back and forth and standing in line! The other Stamps.com options are great. I recommended Stamps.com to everyone we know. We have added a photo below and blocked out the owner's address for privacy.
Their system is very buggy... it will work for a few months on one computer, then suddenly stops working... they'll advise to change to a different browser, or state they no longer support Apple computers (thanks for that, we don't all have PCs here at our office); often their website is down. Half the time they want us to update the downloaded program, the other half the time they want us to log on and only use it online. Their monthly fees are way too high for small businesses, and their staff is hard to reach (to put it politely). If you can find another service, DO SO!
Stamps.com saved me from standing in line at the post office on a dozen occasions this holiday season. Great! But it took 2 hours and three phone calls before I successfully printed my second mailing label. Some type of internal security issue.
I was able to use the included scale for automatic weighing on only 1 day out of 10; bug in software doesn't properly login "stamps connect", which is needed for auto weighing, with stamps.com.
Password requirements for stamps.com not the same as for "stamps connect", which renders using either interchangeably a frustrating experience if you start out with a password good on only one of the systems.
You can't use your email address as your user name because you can't use a period in the user name (like *******@gmail.com) Another non-intuitive "feature".
To me, the term "Address" is not the same as "recipient", but there is no place to specify recipient ( just put the person's name on the first line of the address). Again, poor user interface.
It isn't clear how to print two labels on one sheet of paper sometimes, and only one at a time other times.
Overall, I think I saved around $10.00 on $120.00 in postage for a monthly $17.00 fee. My original plan was to Cancel right after the Holidays, but I may wait a few more months until I'm vaccinated. My local post office has a small lobby, and is always busy.
However, I still need to go into the building to drop off packages because there is no large drop box outside. I make and ship cloth face masks for friends and family, and ship all over the country - two or three shipments of 2 or 3 packages a month. I can't justify it on cost, but for now, my wife says I can on safety.
Tip for consumers:
The monthly fee means you have to ship a lot (>$100.00 per month) to get your money back. With COVID, however, not standing in line at the post office waiting to ship a package is healthier, and since I’m over 65, probably worth it even if I only ship a couple times a month.
Products used:
Stamps.com to select shipping options and print postage paid labels. Also used the scale to manually weigh and enter weight for pricing.
Asked to log in when already logged in memory. Can't print now and fed up with the Incompetent website.
Stamps.com is great! No more standing in long lines at the post office to buy stamps or have a package weighed and have postage added.
Very easy to use, and so much easier than mailing even two or more items at the post office. You can just go in, drop off, and get about your day.
We have used Stamps.com for several years and rely heavily on their service. It has been a great money saving tool for our business
I find them easy to use, easy set up, Great Customer service if something does go wrong, good response on the phone in getting a live person too!
So far, Stamps.com has done everything I need it to do and is capable of doing much more. I am very pleased with this software.
Great app. Easy to use and very convenient. I'm wheelchair bound so I don't get out but I'm active with my computer- Stamps.com is just right.
We have not been able to ship anything internationally through Stamps.com, no matter how hard we've tried. Domestic shipping is not a problem...
I have not been to the post office in at least a year. I do nearly everything on Stamps.com. Love it.

Stamps.com is easier than opening a can - quick, time saving site! It gives you a lot of options and takes out the deciding.
NO lines, easy printing, variety of stamps, make your own, nice gift for students away from home, great for the elderly and handicapped.
Stamps.com has been my mail method for over 13 years. I love the convenience they prove as well as superior customer service.
I have been a very happy user of stamps.com for years. It is simple, professional and efficient. I like the savings, too!
Stamps.com charged me a monthly fee for 2.5 years without sending any notification emails or receipts to make me aware of the chargesI just happened to spot it one month on my statement.
It was impossible to cancel onlineI had to email their "customer service" and they only cancelled it after several rounds of going back and forth over email. Email responses take several days. They completely ignored my multiple requests for a refunddidn't even bother to refuse the request, just ignored that I even asked for one at all. It seems to be a company policy to ignore refund requestsI contacted multiple customer service agents and every one of them completely ignored my requests for a refund.
This is hands down the worst customer service I've ever had from any company I've ever dealt with.
Please take my advice and STAY FAR AWAY from Stamps.com, you can get a better service for free from other companies like PirateShip (and they actually provide helpful and friendly customer service, with quick responses often within a few minutes.
I found that Stamps.com is for the casual user not just for larger businesses or high volume users. Great!
I am 84 and Stamps. Com saves me running to the post office. Very convenient as I am handy capped. Is a blessing
Continue to have problems with printing stamps, and really hate the way process to get refunds or credit
I love Stamps.com and the way it frees me from ever talking to a postal clerk. I wish they processed REFUNDS faster because that can take weeks.
I HAVE BEEN DOUBLE CHARGE SINCE MARCH 2020 IT IS NOW OCT. 2020. $19.95 X 8 MONTS SO FAR.
HAVE TRIED CALLING MANY TIMES ON HOLD WITH NO RESULTS. TRIED EMAILING THEY SAID SOORRY TRY CALLING. I AM NOW IN DISPUT WITH CREDIT CADR COMPANY TO RESULVE.
Great tool for an individual and small to large organizations. Good internal organization tools and easy processing.
Monthly fee prohibitive for a regular user without a business. (But I can't resist it!)
One of these days I will drop my membership.
Your service and site has completely made sending mail and packages easy, with out me having to spend time traveling to town. Thank you
No support for OS X users, so we're forced to use the web interface which has extremely limited capabilities. I've contacted customer support several times asking for help and have gotten no help except "move to Windows and use our app." Gee, thanks.
The other huge weakness I've found is that the web interface uses the USPS API to validate addresses, but not all addresses are in that system. My local post office confirmed that several times for me, so if I ask the post office to mail something, they simply tell me the address is almost certainly correct but they can't guarantee delivery. Stamps. Com REFUSES to allow an address they can't validate. I've had to drive to the post office several times to mail something... kind of defeats the purpose of stamps.com. My own business address can't be verified so I had to use one they suggested. One of my large clients, a very large hospital, can't be verified. Supposedly the Windows app allows you to relax the address checking rules but I don't think the web interface provides it.
There doesn't appear to be a way to just get a quote on shipping other than starting an order, putting in the data, getting the value, but then the order can't be deleted (or at least I haven't found a way to delete it).
The interface to the scale is clunky so I just manually enter the weight
The service works most of the time, so I just work around the annoyances and drive to the post office a couple times a week to deal with problems stamps.com isn't willing to address. If I can't figure something out, no sense contacting customer support because all they do is tell me to switch to Windows.
