“PERFECT”

My company ships a lot of media mail (music books). With the USPS, we have to take the packages to the local post office. They won't allow you to print media mail labels on their USPS website. However, with Stamps.com, we are able to print the labels and the postal carrier picks up the package and scans it on the spot. This saves us a lot of time and money constantly driving back and forth and standing in line! The other Stamps.com options are great. I recommended Stamps.com to everyone we know. We have added a photo below and blocked out the owner's address for privacy.

“Too Many Flaws, Inconsistent functionality, High Price”

Their system is very buggy... it will work for a few months on one computer, then suddenly stops working... they'll advise to change to a different browser, or state they no longer support Apple computers (thanks for that, we don't all have PCs here at our office); often their website is down. Half the time they want us to update the downloaded program, the other half the time they want us to log on and only use it online. Their monthly fees are way too high for small businesses, and their staff is hard to reach (to put it politely). If you can find another service, DO SO!

This is so easy to use, the customer service staff are quick and eager to help. I love not having to run to the post office and stand in line to get something done.

Rates when compared to others offering the same service, Stamps.com is more expensive to use - would use far more often if rates were reasonable - maybe too greedy...

You start out at stamps.com with a free trial, then after a month it's only $15/month. I swap books with other people (using swap.com) and instead of $3.21 per shipment (because of delivery conf) it's anywhere from $1.64 to $2.66, depending on how I package it, which INCLUDES Delivery Confirmation. That's a savings of up to $1.50 PER PACKAGE! That's a lot. Great prices, the software is the easiest thing in the world to download (even for the electronically challenged) and it puts a simple shipping icon on your desktop, they offer a FREE 5-lb. Weight scale that works with the stamps.com software (just plug it into the USB slot on your computer, put the package on and it will weigh it automatically), and other freebies (like 2 credits to your account for $10, stickers to print actual stamps right at home, free boxes of many sizes, etc.); additionally, you can print the postage for any package right onto plain paper at home, and if you accidentally print the item twice or decide not to use the label, they will refund the money to your account. You add funds directly from a credit card or bank account, and it tells you exactly how much you have left at all times, and how much each package will be including any changes. I RECOMMEND THIS TO EVERYONE!

They keep you well informed and have no problem downloading the stamps to the envelops. By having the stamps in your computer they are ready when you need them.

As a solo practitioner, I appreciate the fact that I can prepare certified mail from the office. I rarely need to go to the PO anymore. That is a big time saver for me!

Easy and reliable. When working properly pick up and delivery is good.It beats using ups or fedx. They are much more expensive and not reliable and also do not supply boxes etc for priority mail.

This is one of the best offers for any business, save time and able to print your stamps and also receive a discount on the stamps. I would recommend this to any one.

They sent me a trial offer to test "stamps.com" they not only did not give me the 9 stamps promised in my promotional offer, they charged me $1.00 for the one stamp i did print.

Tip for consumers:
Don't use it. USPS is maybe a pain, but they are honest and reliable.

Products used:
I bought one stamp that cost me $1 on their supposed "Test Promotion". It was supposed to be free, in fact the sheet they sent with the "promotional offer" had the blanks for 9 stamps, but only one printed and i was charged one dollar

I use this for stamps and packages occasionally. It should roll over my balance each month. It continues to delete any monies in my account and start over each month

I live in a rural place so if I did not have Stamps.com I would have to drive in to town to get postage costs to email to my customers... It would be impossible... And it's easy to use...

Although, I don't use Stamps.com like I use to, it's still great to have. Print stamps as I need them or need to send small packages, it's on standby. Just walk to mailbox and it's off.

We ship a lot - it works great for within the US but for international shipping I wish there would be a way to save all the custom information as we ship the same products and I have to re-enter the same information again and again and again - eg save description, price, weight and HS code.

Printing problems--when the Printer icon pops up on the screen, showing a page of stamps being emitted form the printer, instead of actually printing the stamps, the icon flashes on and off.

Unless you opt for a subscription, you can only send mail by Priority. If you opt for a subscription, you have to use it a lot to save any money in the long run.

Sometimes it works. Sometimes it doesn't. We've called for support and it works and then it doesn't again. We're throwing in the towel and cancelling our subscription.

Best thing I've ever done! When other attorneys run short on postage, this is their first stop. So easy to sit at my desk and mail things all over the world.

As a business owner, I can tell you this business has the worst customer service I have ever experienced and I deal with distributors and suppliers on a DAILY basis. Called May 15th and literally waited 45 minutes for an answer. Spoke with the lady for a few minutes but had to go because a customer was calling. Even after I gave her all of my information I was still unable to get into the account. Called again that following Monday (May 18th) and waited for another 40 minutes and never got an answer (keep in mind this is my business account I use for shipping out packages to my customers and has all of my customer information in it that I no longer have access to) so I decided to hang up and just use their contact form to hopefully get assistance. By the way there is no chat or email to use. That was Monday morning, later that day I submitted a post to facebook as I was running out of options to get my account back up and running. The next day I received a comment from a lady and then another comment from stamps.com asking me to contact them via *******@stamps.com. That was on Tuesday. As of Wednesday night I have yet to hear back from anyone at the *******@stamps.com email or from the contact form and I have been trying to get a hold of someone since Friday. So here it is almost a week and I still can't get access to my business account. By the way they are also deleting comments on facebook. I have screen shots. The comments were not inappropriate only explaining the situation and asking was stamps.com still operational.

I like it a lot and it is very user friendly (unlike face book). I do think the monthly fees are a bit high for a nonbusiness user like I am. Other than that it would be perfect.

While it beats going to the Post Office constantly for stamps, it is just average in website usablility. The folks at the Post Office didn't even how how to use it.
