I received a brand new Stauer watch from a loved one--in the box, never used. It looked great--was a Morgan Silver Dollar--but did not work at all. I changed the battery--still did not work. I called Stauer's customer service, who politely told me to go pound sand because I did not know age of watch (still in its packaging). So I sent it off to a wach repair place, which informed me that the internal workings were cheap. $277.00 later, I have a nice watch. Stauer's customer service is unreasonable less than responsive. The watch looks nice the original internal workings are cheap.

Opted to source a different present for a gift while waiting for this to arrive. Jewelry was smaller in size as appeared in photo which was disappointing. I sent immediate email asking for refund. Three calls later (8 days and long hold times) still waiting for sales rep to provide RMA# so I can return ship and then wait more days to be refunded. I have already spent almost 75 minutes on the phone trying to contact them. Me living in Pacific time zone and their 4:00PM Central time zone closing makes it even harder. Very disappointing. What company with good customer service waits more than a week to provide a RMA number? Why do I have to wait for the sales rep to generate it? Not one I want to work with.
Stauer's Ruby Red Romance Ring, # WB067, has never been shipped. Ordered Feb 14, I have called many times. Each time provided a shipping date, all of which have come and gone. Now waiting over 2 months. Called again last week, on April 8, and was told the new shipping date is "MAYBE in May". VERY disappointed. I thought my wife of 57 years would love this ring, but I am not certain if she will ever have a chance to actually see it. Stauer includes a prominent "The Stauer Promise-100% Customer Satisfaction Guaranteed" statement on their website. It is simply not true.
It was easy to shop but the shipping charges were supposed to be $6.95 not $9.95. That is my only issue at this time.
My husband ordered a gift on 12/27/24. After placing the order we received an email stating the item was backordered & would ship soon. Here we are in February 2025 & item is still on backorder. On January 19,2024 I ordered a watch which came with a free Sparkling Tree necklace. The tree necklace was out of stock so they arbitrarily substituted another item without even contacting me. When I questioned them about this, they said it was their practice to substitute another free item of their choice and if I had wanted to return it and the watch, they would have deducted the postage from my refund. By the way, the cost of my watch was $29.00 and the postage and handling was $29.95. Talk about highway robbery. I'm going to have them remove me from their mailing list - I don't like the way they do business!

This is an update to my 12/20 review--If I could give this company 0 stars, I would. After a long conversation with a service rep, who said that I had not paid for an ordered product that I had cancelled but they sent anyway, I agreed to pay for the product. I just received my credit card bill that shows that Stauer did receive my original payment in November and then received the payment that I made after the phone call in December. I will never, never, never order from StauefrViva Terra again and I would advise others to Never order from them!
Ordered through Viva Terra catalog ( used to be a great online company but recently taken over by Stauer). The item that I ordered was backordered...it was a birthday gift, so the date mattered. After several weeks of getting delay messages, I called to cancel the order. During the call, I was told that the item was still backordered and the order was cancelled. The order was later shipped (after the cancellation!). I received a bill for the order even though it was cancelled. Stauer customer service was unhelpful and said that I still owed for the shipped item, even though it had been cancelled. Very disappointed and I will no longer be a customer of Viva Terra or Stauer
This company charges exorbitant shipping charges. $30 on a $170 purchase. Then have the nerve to charges non refundable sales tax on shipping charges. It was $12,50 plus tax to return the item so that tells you the $30 to ship it should more than cover the return and even restocking. Bottonm line? My refund amounted to less than the item purchased. Cost was $209 refund was $165 for a $169 item! In other words it cost me $45 to receive and return an item. In my 75 years I have never experienced this lack of customer service for an item that is not clearly described in their catalog nor is their intricate sales tax or shipping charges overtly explained. Do not bother to call they are totally arrogant and self serving, Avoid this highway robbery at all cost. Do keep a copy of your catolog to verify your purchase!
I was pressured to get Platinum membership with a promise that I would get coupons more than the cost. However, I never got the coupons and was told they don't mail it. So I requested to cancel the membership. I have called numerous time for a month and they keep saying it will be cancelled and I will get th refund of $129 in 5 to 10 days. I have been told the membership the membership was cancelled on 10/3/2024 but no refund yet. This is ridiculous and unacceptable! Rating should be 0 for unprofessional business practice.

I placed an order for a necklace & pendant assuming it was still in stock. It's been almost 2 weeks and it states it's on back order. I called and was told it would ship by the end of the week. I checked today and the status states it's still on back order. I do need it by the end of October so all I can do is continue to wait because I really like the pendant as a gift I will be giving to my best friend.

I could only use one promo code on an order. I used ENS195-01 for order price of $49 & received an email that shipping was $5 with promo code TECAB201 and that overrode the discount code. Is that correct... $5 s&h vs. $19.95? Same items...same shipping method...$15 difference. Doesn't compute.
I had a problem with the website giving me the free shipping which was stated in an email. I got a response within an hour that it had been corrected. Within an hour. That's the kind of customer service I like. This is the second watch I've purchased from Stauer. Based on this experience it probably won't be the last. Good job.

The watches are pretty, however they don't work. I have two different styles, both were worn once each, then placed in a jewelry box. About three months later I checked them and both were not functioning. The digital part of the hybrid was working not the analog. The other is analog and was dead. Replacement of the batteries did not help. So if your looking for a good looking watch that will work for a short time this is the brand.
Stauer LLC is not a watch company. It is an E-Commerce business, located in Burnsville Minnesota, that started up in 2002. Perhaps the town is well named based on complaints from consumers. Basically the company has stuff made in China and sells it on the internet. It is not an original scheme, Chinese companies do it all of the time.
If you go to Stauer's website it is a virtual hodgepodge emporium of clothing, housewares, jewelry, lotions, ect. It is like an upscale surplus store online. Anyone who believes that they are getting quality merchandise, or a good watch here, is begging for trouble. The website also sells Swiss Alpine Military, Swiss Tactical, and Nautica watches. Stauer also offers a "high end" watch brand called Charmex that are allegedly Swiss made.
Evidently the company stocks anything they can flog for a profit. You can't blame Michael Bisceglia for trying to scam a buck here and there, because people didn't do their homework.
The quality and beauty of this watch is unsurpassed. I've received many compliments about it. People want to see it up close, they want to scrutinize it. Then, I tell them it's completely automatic- it requires no battery. Then, when asked about the manufacturer, I say "Stauer"; they start repeating "Stauer" as if memorizing it for future reference, for when they have time to check the company online.
I have ordered products for several years from Stauer. I have never had any problems with their products. I have had many complements with them as has my wife. I am awaiting an order now and my wife keeps checking the mail and says that she can hardly wait for it to arrive.
