The format of the site has changed recently and the prices are awesome but...the turn around time for orders is terrible. It should not take three weeks to ship out. You get paid what? Go on vacation for two weeks? After nearly 3 weeks my order finally shipped and the it is taking another 7-10 days? Back to thred up I go. Oh and custom service? Like a group of living zombies reading from a bad script. The past 2 orders I placed have left me speechless - almost. Ridiculous.

I helped my 91 year old mother pack a box full of high end never worn or barely worn clothes and shoes. Swap com confirmed receipt but lost box during move. They kept saying they would post items. Never gave us money. Finally said items were lost and promised meager $100 but then never sent that either. Use Poshmark instead. Who cheats a 91 year old woman for more than a year?

On November 12 2023 I purchased three used cardigan sweaters for a total of $27.84 cents (they were clearance items) which included the $9.99 shipping well about seven days later I only received one of the three items I purchased from them and was refunded $6.42 but my refund should have been about $13 I sent three emails asking why they didn't refund me for both of the items but they refused they use to be good at customer service but since they have been managed by a different company they have become awful to buy from you never know if you will get what you paid for and their customer service is a joke. Do yourself a favor don't purchase anything from them you will save yourself a lot of aggravation

Just remember you've been warned if you take a chance and they mess up your order and don't communicate with you and keep some of the money they were supposed to refund to you

Swap.com has in the last six months made a huge advertising presence along with a push to grow. They have difficulties fulfilling orders, have began passing off sub-standard quality, and have poor communication about orders. They no longer care about the customer. I will take my money elsewhere. They charged me for an item I didn't receive, then my order before that was supposed to come in a couple of weeks because they were backed up. I finally got my November order in January. I have been a customer since their beginning.

Steer clear, Thread Up has grown but they remain quality without the weird business practices of overcharging and no communication.

All five items, but one pair of shoes was really scuffed I had to work on them. I was charged for an item I never received.
Ordered a few pairs of pants to make the $10 shipping fee worth my while. After my order was confirmed, one of the pants got removed from my order... because they were already sold? Still got charged the $10 shipping fee except now I was only getting sent 2 pairs of pants. I finally get the pants (takes a few weeks), and even though one of them was specifically labelled Size 22, they were actually a size 32, which means they're way too big for me. I look up their return policy and they charge a $5 shipping fee for all returns, even if it's their fault. Since the pants were $10, I would be going through the hassle of returns just to get $5 back. They also have two different customer service emails listed: *******@swap.com and *******@swap.com, so it seems like a hassle to try to fight for my money back. Now I paid $26 and only got 1 pair of usable pants. I may as well have just shopped at a real store.
Waited a month for order. Items I ordered got taken off my order. Item I did get doesn't fit. If i do return it may take 2 months to get anyway. Money wasted. Can't win with swap.com. Use to be a good site, now it's the $#*!S. My advice never shop with them, if you know what's good for you.
I have ordered from Swap several times and the product is usually as described. However, the shipping has become unbelievable slow. The product is shipped from multiple warehouses and there is no way to track a single item out of an order. Part of my order was lost, and as it has a single tracking number, UPS can only tell me that it was delivered. Swap has no way to actually contact customer service and diverts all shipping inquiries to UPS, who can't help. I ordered my last order on July 1st, and it stilI has not arrived on July 23. It is not a good business policy to make excuses about shipping delays without any attempt to locate the package. I prefer Thredup and will use it in the future ~ they still manage to ship in a timely manner.
Update on this review: I finally was able to contact Swap, and they issued a refund. It was not quick, but they did credit my account.

Don't order with the expectation of receiving the product in reasonable time, just to be safe.

Up until recently, Swap.com was a great site. It has gone completely down hill. They are taking 3 months or longer to process items. Their quality control measures are completely arbitrary. They've rejected items I've sent in that were brand new and still had the tags on it or listed them as "fair condition." It's impossible to get anything more than a canned response. STAY AWAY.
Swap.com has twice in the last month excluded items from my order and charged me for them. They were more pricey items (in the $40 range). The first time I thought it was a fluke, but now that it's happened again, I'm beginning to wonder if it's not done on purpose. I've tried several times (3 or 4) reaching out to their customer service, with no response. They are completely ignoring me. I ended up having to dispute the charges through my credit card company. Save yourself the hassle and shop elsewhere. Shame on you Swap.com.
I love dealing with Swap.com. Easy, painless, trouble-free. Description of the items clear and simple to understand. Pictures are great. Packaged nicely, very clean and neat. Coming very fast. What else do you need? I'm giving all stars!
Before this site was bought by someone who wanted to turn it into a mini-ebay it used to be excellent. When it was just trading books/video games/dvds/cds it was nothing short of amazing! They even had a guarantee for deadbeat traders with a credit card charge system to make sure the swap went through. Then they added crap - trading tons of junk, people trying to swap high dollar items for their worn out stuffed animals. It was horrible. The quality of trades plummeted and numerous traders never sent items. Sometime during this they quietly dropped the trade guarantee so you were left with no recourse if a trader did not send their item. Now traders will complain and leave negative feedback instead of communicating. Customer service could care less if you're alive. Stay away!
I previously wrote a negative review but I need to correct it, because I did not understand the swap.com process. When you get your first email from them about a box being processed, it might look like everything was rejected, which is what happened to me. But then they ended up posting a bunch of my items. I just needed to be patient. They were very professional in dealing with my frustration. Now I will definitely send more items their way. I haven't bought anything yet but the kids clothes look great.
Swap auto-listed and sold my $600 suit for $8.40. Eight dollars and 40 cents! Swap used to be good for sellers to get a decent cut for nice, good condition items. You could also custom price your clothes, say if they were 100% cashmere or rarer items. Now they auto price things without the seller's permission and sell them at whatever price their algorithm produces. I tried to get them to take down my listings that were grossly underpriced and they didn't! I sent the box in 3 months ago having no idea they would screw me over like this! Sellers will inevitably leave when treated so poorly!
When I started I made roughly 40 to 50% but they changed their policy so the owners of swap.com can make a lot more money so for every item that sells for $10 or less you only get $2 I also didn't know that buyers can use 50% off coupons so there for my Boutique items brought me in about $2 an item do not send your items here take them to local stores that buy them outright because they pay low prices but slap.com will pay you even less we are warning you all these write-ups don't do it unless you don't care about getting next to nothing back

I ordered two items from this company and as of 1/27/2022 it has been 2 months and the items have not even shipped. Been ordering from Swap for 4 years and had no problem but as of about 1 year ago Swap has basically stopped shipping items. The worse part is that I have written customer service 5 times and they have never gotten back to me to explain what is going on. Wish I could give them no stars. STAY FAR AWAY from this company. Also, You'll also have to use your credit card company to get a refund.

They used to have hundreds of items load every day. Mostly awesome brands/good quality. I'd have 20-30 items in my "storage" that I would have shipped every few weeks. In the last four months things have taken a drastic turn for the worst. Some days no new items are loaded in any category. Brands have gone down hill and prices gone up. I've messaged swap multiple times about this only to get a generic response. Something is not right. I miss the old swap :(
Ive sold over 24 items so far on Swap, and not once have I gotten a payout. They keep telling me that all of the money goes towards my shipping fee and after doing the math I've definitely exceeded that. Scam.

I bought clothes while pregnant, and loved the low prices. However, when it came time to send items in to sell, let's just say I could have gotten better pricing off Craigslist. My items were selling awesome off the site, but when it came to getting a payout for my items, I got ripped off, BIG time. They take 25% of your individual sale item, then take an additional $1.50 for handling. Which I understood, they have to make money too. So my total payout (I thought) after all THAT was taken would have been 23.00, I ended up getting $10.00 after they took commission fees out. Needless to say selling on swap.com is a rip off.
I sent in $2000 worth of beautifully pressed, brand name clothes since I've gained a few pounds, and need space in my closet. They sat on the clothes for 120 days... and then gave me $1.65 for all of them. That's one dollar and sixty-five cents. Don't waste your time. Also, the last two shirts I bought from them had stains on them, so it's not like their standards are "so high", they ship substandard product all the time.
Before inflicting the worst possible experience on their customers, this used to be an excellent site to trade media. Everything went off the cliff following the introduction of the Swap Market, which then was replaced by Swap Valet. I tried out Valet service, which aspires to be like a recycling-focused Ebay, and my item was not accepted. That didn't really do anyone any good. The customer service here has been abysmal since both the failed introduction of Swap Market and the takeover from the Finland team. Recommend you stay far away..
I ordered an item on 12/15/21. It is now 61/2 weeks later and still do not have my order. Web site states they are behind, now processing orders placed between 12/27 and 1/6/22. But yet my order still has not processed! I have contacted 5 times with only an automated response to check web site for frequently asked questions!. I am now requesting a refund. I don't have high hopes of receiving it though. Learn from my mistake, stay away. They will never see me again.

Ive been shopping there recently, placed 2 orders of 300$ each. Buy everytime i asked a simple question or a request the answer are unclear, careless or simply negative. What a rip off. Steer clear of this site. Yes, the items you order may be "new with tags," but they come with holes or other damage. They sell Wal-Mart t shirts with the price still on them and have the gall to charge more than the price tag. Never again.
