T-Mobile has a rating of 1.2 stars from 1,938 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers complaining about T-Mobile most frequently mention customer service, new phone, and sim card problems. T-Mobile ranks 240th among Mobile Phones sites.
I've had T-Mobile for 5+ years now and I've found that while mistakes are sometimes made, (usually during ill-advised store visits) their phone based customer service is very good at making up for it. Any time I have called them with an issue they have been very quick to correct it and to give me some kind of compensation or perk to make up for the loss. While the website has had a few issues in the past with user-friendliness, they have made regular improvements over the years that help immensely. If you demand perfection constantly, not the carrier for you, but if you have a tiny bit of patience, they do come through in the long run.
Phones are junk and they then charge you to restock their junk. In store makes a sale and then cant help you with anything and believe me...you WILL have problems. Customer service? Our entire family had TM phones and now are completely disgusted with the "service". Plan on spending hours on the phone as you get put on hold, swapped around, cut off over and over again, and get told something different with every call. Have had constant glitches with the GPS, volume, camera lens etc etc etc. They used to be worth the extra money every month but NO good reasons to stay with them anymore. Steer clear.
All they do is lie I've been with them almost a year and can't wait to be done. No one in customer service has a clue what they r doing they will make ur life miserable I have the work and then you go somewhere else

I've been with Sprint for 16 years & it wasn't that great to begin with but since they became t-mobile the service has gone from mediocre to horrible.
They slow down data transfer speed but your phone will still say 4G speed.
I will be filling a report about this with Consumer Protection Agency or any other relevant government Agency.
Tmobile just bought mint mobile, the monopoly is insane & we, the consumers, need to protest such monopolies, seek out class action lawsuits, elect government officials that will prevent greedy-capitalism/anti-real-capitalism

Terrible customer service for the business side. The people migrating people over from Sprint have absolutely no Idea how to do there jobs. 25 hours of my time and 4 months still not done! Still in a semi workable Limbo with no end in sight. So many promises broken. I was just told that our 18 line account wasn't big enough for a manager to help with!
Tip for consumers:
Use someone other than T-Mobile!

I have phoned t-mobile 20+ times to try to sort this out, but not one time has anyone every returned my phone call. It's been 6 months and they are now threatening dept collections, but still won't return my calls.

Zero stars. These businesses are just so unethical. I've been humming along with a $55 per month internet charge for months and all of the sudden, they charged me an extra $236 with no "heads up" - no warning. I'm on the phone with billing now who are insisting it is an "equipment charge". Just don't auto-pay anything these days. You cannot trust companies with your payment information.

Called a store about getting phone replaced after kid destroyed my wife's phone. We was turned away after a half hour drive because we're Sprint customers? We had T-Mobile SIM cards on their network since two years ago. Gave us a difficult time when we said screw it we're switching companies then if they won't help us. They immediately tried sending us to collections as well instead of letting us pay off total on next billing cycle. Complete shady business tactics they were pulling. On top of this they always refused to change name on plan after we got married as well. Very annoying, crappy company from our experience. Service was always spotty too.

T-Mobile to soon require use of debit card only. No longer will they accept credit card starting in July 2023. This may lead to a change in carriers. I hope not. There has not been any problem in using my credit card in the last few years. Giving out back act info is also a deal breaker. What genius came up with this idea? Don't "Bud Light" your product

I would give them 0 stars. The most horrific experience after being their customer for 11 years almost... Worst customer service ever, with people that are lying in your face when actually don't want or cannot resolve your issues, worst signal and especially if you have a 5G phone don't expect to have 5G signal anywhere. Also I've bought a $1400 Samsung Galaxy S 20 Ultra 5G from them and after only 3 months didn't work properly and they've done nothing for 6 months of weekly complaining. In the end they changed it with a refurbished one the blocked after 2 days. So please do yourself a favor find a better option, my experience was traumatic as I lost many days on the phone with them, not hours, in 6 months I've lost days! Just yesterday the whole day until past midnight when I was done with them for good.
Tip for consumers:
Run away from TMobile. They will take your money super fast but never care for their customers.
Worst signal everywhere and uncapable "specialists"

Wow I don't know where to begin. Not happy at all can't receive picture messages from some people or calls... they blamed it on their carriers. Of course not their fault lol. The free phone I got for my kid locks you into a two year contract I've had to pay 300 dollars so far I've been with them for 2 weeks and my next bill will be ready in 11 days... just a joke to talk to anyone, I guess I'll have to deal with $#*!ty service for 2 years or pay them 800 dollars to get out... feels like I could have got some lube at least... -10/10

The T Mobile in Midland Park, NJ. Forgot to mention the free phones have hidden fees remaining that doesn't cover the total fee on the free phone!
His Exact words were you will never pay more than $140.
I asked about taxes he said never more than $140. (2× he told me)
The first 2 bills were less the 140. Each were a different amount. I'm like Ok?
So, I get my 3rd bill and it is for $156.OK?
Nothing can be done and it is too late to return!
Wow, should I be shocked I was lied too?
As soon is the free phone is paid for back to these bastards I'm leaving T Mobile. For sure.
Look at those sixes. Wow.
I don't recommend liars. Straight up.

In the past three months our phone bill which hsd always been $100.00, went yo $180.00, then $188.00, new bill arrived today, $192.00. Was told Bill went up because I made international calls to Belize, ok, and I paid that bill. The past two months their operators are so incompetent they can't give me a legitimate answer as to why my bill hss doubled. Closing account today, never use this company ever.

Worse company or whatever you want to call them! 1 1/2 years after complaining they finally offered me a booster for my home. GUESS WHAT? Still have problems! CSR has lied to me twice! Outsourced to the Philippines and can't understand them most of the time!

The biggest bunch of crooks going. Seriously. Just to get my phone unlocked took 30 customer service members. To get a complaint about that finally taken seriously took a further 15 reps. The lies I have been told is quite outstanding and they appear to work on the premise that eventually you will give up. You cannot speak to the same person twice; the next along the line knows nothing about what the previous person has said or done. You are worn down by forever repeating yourself. I didn't know whether to laugh or cry. I have never known a company like it.
'Unlimited' isn't. They tamper with accounts. Yuck. Bunch of thieves. Avoid, avoid, avoid.

If you're a use to be sprint customer good luck lol. These people on both ends are just foreign idiots. Will give you the absolute run around on the phone and bounce you back and fourth between sprint and T-Mobile. You'll get no answer. All they'll say is you're the problem in a round about way. My sister and I were over charged by $1700 and they won't refund it. Happened in the middle of their merge due to no communication on their end. If I could give zero stars I would. Take your service elsewhere and put these scumbags out of business because we'll be doing the same.

Had these jockers for over 2 years.
Hardly anything good to say about them.
The most unreliable coverage, their customer service reps are utterly clueless.
They will sign you up to plans T mobile doesn't have.
When they throttle you back ( aka prioritization) they will literally cut you off from dara/ internet.
Their " unlimited plans" are just a lie, T mobile doesn't have " unlimited data plans" - none!
Their app is as useless as they are, you can't connect to get your account information.
" service unavailable " is more than a common error message you'll get trying...
Their reps ( overseas of course) care only about the reviews they are asking you to write at the end of every single phone conversation with them.
In short, just a bunch of lying scammers disguised as a reputable business.

T Mobile is $#*!. Nothing but a big $#*! circle you have to go around. Can't add lines online, can't upgrade on online. Full of crap. The down payments for phones are ridiculous. Why would I put $600 down on a $700 phone. Crazy, f**king bananas. Do what I did, got to Verizon, pricey, but well worth it! Trust ME!

We had T-Mobile for years. Never got good service. They don't care about their customers. Now we sent back the service booster boxes and they "didn't receive them". How do I know they're not lying? They're charging me $600 and I will not pay that due to them possibly lying to get money. They just turned off some of my family's phones who are still with Verizon today. We thankfully switched to Verizon a few months back. This company is so shady. Go to Verizon!

I left t mobile 7 months ago, and they are still charging me $10 a month for a line I have no idea even existed! There is a credit for leaving, and said would send a check but every damn month get another invoice saying payed $10 from the credit. Customer service is non existent. I just waited on hold for 1 hour to get this once and for all figured out, but no one picked up. Waste of time and I think they are just hoping they can get away with screwing people over. You can't do anything about it cause no one there cares. The stores have no idea how to help. Just call that number they say. I HATE T MOBILE!

Loyalty to a company doesn't mean anything anymore. We have been T-mobile customers for 22 years and recently made a change that triggered a $600 charge for boosters from 10 and 14 years ago. After 4 calls and escalation, I was told pay the fee or your account will be suspended. They also said we are more than happy to cancel our services as well. Wow, is all I can say. We will be escalating this to T-mobile wireless via snail mail since that is the only way to file a dispute…are we in 2023 or 1950? Anyway I am sad that we will no longer be supporting, referring or using T-mobile in our future.

T mobile is the worst company. Sales and customer service is deceiving and lying at this company. They use bate and switch technique. My bill is five times bigger than what I agreed to pay originally. I've been on the phone with them so many times, sitting for several hours, they say they will fix their mistake and nothing gets done.
Each call takes many hours and seems to have a little to no progress or impact, for five lines it's supposed to be $200 a month and we were charged $1150 in one month ( 5 separate charges)alone and they have no idea why this madness continues with no end!

I was going on trip to Philly from NYC. The device had steady connection all the way down the NJ Turnpike. Facebook/Google Maps/Amazon pages were opening good. Battery life is about 3.5 hours and it does give some heat, but not scorching. I could keep it in shirt pocket. I always turned it off when not in use, so I didn't encounter the sleep problems people faced.
I lent the device to a friend who used it with her Kindle fire and she loved the speeds.

I migrated over from Sprint to T-Mobile over 7 months ago (Dec 2021). Promised the same rate as I had with Sprint and free phones for the migration. After 20 different call ins and in person meetings with local T-Mobile store manager, they are have been charging me for equipment charges ever month. My bill is $65 a month more for 3 phones. Although everybody I talked to agrees it should be fixed, no one is authorized to fix it. Unbelievable!

Update- This issue is still not resolved. No attempts from company have been made to resolve these issues. Don't waste your time or money.
Do not do any business with Sprint or T-Mobile. Sprint robbed me of over 500.00 dollars. When attempting to get a refund I was lied to several times. Calling customer service is the most painful task anyone can do in a day. Every time you call, you have to start your story all over again and the wait times can be astronomical. Are they not taking any notes about the 30 times I have had to call call? And dozens of attempts later, still not resolved. With a company this large, you think they would be obligated to refund their customers with money that was wrongfully charged/billed. Months of calling and getting transferred from one customer service rep to another, I have been left with nothing but wasted time and a bank account that is short over 500.00. They have even admitted their mistake in overcharging me but still no resolution. Please don't waste your time and money. If there are any issues you will be promised everything and anything, but you most likely will be left with frustration and regrets. I have always been friendly and kind and always paid my bills on time for years. But to them that doesn't matter. They would rather lose a customer than resolve a wrong doing. To this company, YOU DON'T MATTER. What a shame. I am looking for assistance on how to file a formal complaint but of course SPRINT and TMOBILE are not assisting with that either. Even after acknowledging that they made a mistake in overcharging me for hundreds of dollars.

Had their service for 4 months. Wasted over $1000 in paying the bill that was promised at $160 then up to $190 and topped at $225 a month. As a fireman we need phones at times and they left me with NO service not even roaming in several areas. One spot I drove 20 min without any service. But like a fool I listened to their crap and kept them then I said I'm done with them and returned everything in the mail and got a good local service Thumb Cellar! Best choice ever and here I am 4 months and several hours later with over seas useless call center and providing my banking info for a refund cause paper checks don't exist for them and not gotten my $228. Lots of promises and same BS. People stay away! Do t do it. Buy a prepaid!

... And they're friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable.
I've had T-mobile phone service for over 5 years, but for a brief and horrible period when I was seduced by another carrier. Now I'm back with T-Mobile, and paying less.
So it occurred to me to turn to T-Mobile for my internet needs. Now I'll be saving $25 - $40+/month (my current carrier charges whatever they think they can get away with).
I just got my new equipment. No cables to snap in a storm. Just plug it in, scan the code. The instructions are very clear, even to an old fart like myself.
AND I get Paramount Plus for free for a year!
I win! T-Mobile rocks!
