“They are very good at apologizing!”

Kristy S.
2/27/15

I've had T-Mobile for 5+ years now and I've found that while mistakes are sometimes made, (usually during ill-advised store visits) their phone based customer service is very good at making up for it. Any time I have called them with an issue they have been very quick to correct it and to give me some kind of compensation or perk to make up for the loss. While the website has had a few issues in the past with user-friendliness, they have made regular improvements over the years that help immensely. If you demand perfection constantly, not the carrier for you, but if you have a tiny bit of patience, they do come through in the long run.

Phones are junk and they then charge you to restock their junk. In store makes a sale and then cant help you with anything and believe me...you WILL have problems. Customer service? Our entire family had TM phones and now are completely disgusted with the "service". Plan on spending hours on the phone as you get put on hold, swapped around, cut off over and over again, and get told something different with every call. Have had constant glitches with the GPS, volume, camera lens etc etc etc. They used to be worth the extra money every month but NO good reasons to stay with them anymore. Steer clear.

I have been a Sprint customer since 2000. There were times when there was poor signal but it improved greatly. There were suburban areas where there a little or no service then it improved. I was happy with Sprint. When the T-Mobile/Sprint merger was complete my reception went to near nothing. Places where I had great service there was little. I could use my phone in the office with Sprint, T-Mobile I can't send a text message at times because there is no signal. I thought it was my phone. I work with 3 other people that have T-Mobile and they have the same issue... no service.
Now the customer service staff at the Flowood MS store are great. They are friendly and helpful. They will go above and beyond to help you. They get 5 Stars. However the "servicing the towers" excuse is old. I'm not in the cell tower business I don't know how long it takes to upgrade a tower. However I see a lot of towers and nobody is around them and my signal still sucks. I am considering AT&T or Verizon after 20+ years. T-Mobile needs to get the signal back to Sprint level before the merger or I will have to leave.

I called them to see if they had service in my area. I was told by three reps. That I have 100% service. I ordered a phone and had it activated. I tried to make a call when I got home and there was nothing. There was no service. I called them and explained it, thinking they would fix the problem. To make a (very frustrating) story of what I went through short I ended up being referred to one person after another seven times. After a few days of calling to figure the problem out I finally got a supervisor. I was told that I had good service where I live and it should work. After about 30 minutes of going back and forth he checked. He comes back to the phone and tells me that there is no T-Mobile service in my area, but I need to send them $330.00 anyway for the phone (that I cannot use). I told him that I will send the phone back. He told me that they won't accept the phone back, that they want $330.00 from me. He said that I have to pay for the (useless to me) phone no matter if I send back the phone or not. I started getting harassed by their lawyer for the money. I explained it to her. She even hesitated when I told her what they did...sent me a phone that they KNEW I can't use. "Well...they want the money." I'm still being harassed. I learned my lesson about T-Mobile the hard way.

I got a Samsung watch through promotion. The watch was free, just paid taxes, in exchange for 2 years of line service. I just found out recently I've been paying $12.50 a month For the last 15 months. That means I was not getting the promotional offer and I am paying $10 a month for the line. Through chat corresponded with a gentleman name Jason For over an hour. He was supposed to get back to me today, follow up in regards to the full refund of $187.50. Because last night he could not give it to me he stated it would be refunded $12.50 over 24 month. I do not want that I want my $187.50 refunded. We have bought phones through T-Mobile I purchase a watch through a promotion through T-Mobile we have four lines through T-Mobile. My family has been with T-Mobile not just under my name but under other family numbers names for our family and a hole has been with T-Mobile for years and years. We deserve to be compensated back the $187.50 one time refund not allotted over many months. Btw Jason did not follow up. And to top it off I just found out I over paid for 2 promotional phones. Looks like $300. The monthly payments proceeded over 2yrs

I have been with the company since 2008 and I they have changed for the worse. They use to care about their customers, but now they only care for their profits. I have had issues with Samsung phones twice on less than 6 months! To get a replacement is rare without shelling out another couple hundred dollars.
The service is poor and does not work in areas locally and when traveling. The Samsung phones are having problems but They do not notify customers or they run diagnostics that cause your phone crash then offer nothing but dishonesty and too concerned with placing blame then they tell you "you can always upgrade. Just pay $185 to get a phone today. " Sounds like a BIG SCAM TO ME!$! They find ways to get out of warranties, the so called insurance, and accountability of misinforming customers! I also asked for a superior, Igor, and he was so much worse than the reps! Condesending, arrogant... but they care about customers? Doesn't sound like it to me! I would never recommend this company to anyone! Save your money, time and effort for a company who cares about customer satisfaction!

If I could not give them a star at all I would. I became a customer back in September. I was told my bill would be 112.59. Every month I have to call after receiving a text reminding that my bill is coming due and it always says 140.74. Every month I have had to call customer service which is always a engthy call, to have them "fix" the issue. Every representative I have spoken to, says the issue is resolved and moving forward your bill will be correct. Each month I have to call back, because the issue has NOT been resolved. This last representative tells me that the correct bill amount ISN'T 112.59, that it's actually 122.74. I know that this is a small difference but at this point it's the principle. Before becoming a customer I had heard great things about them. I am VERY disappointed that I was not lucky enough to have had this so called "great experience." I was with Verizon for 20 years, I am now having huge regrets switching. I would end my service with T-Mobile TODAY, if doing so didn't result in getting screwed even more, costing me the full price for my devices. So now I am stuck with my awful decision. Best believe when my contract is up I WONT be renewing my contract. These two years can't go by fast enough! I do not look forward to dealing with customer service for the remainder of my contract. If you are thinking of switching to T-Mobile, I strongly advise against it! Do so at your own risk of disappointed and frustration!

Tip for consumers:
DONT DO IT!

I had about 250 bucks left to pay off an iphone. Unfortunately the recession hit me hard and I ended up homeless. Lost everything. Naturally i couldn't make any payments. But instead of giving me time to get back on my feet and then resuming payments, they hit me with a massive late fee of about 700 dollars. If i couldn't pay 250 there was no way I could pay 950. So there was nothing I could do. They tanked my credit score at the worst time, making it almost impossible for me to pull myself out of the gutter and sign a lease. But hey, at least their corporate executives are doing well financially! I feel unimaginably betrayed by the insanely large and arbitrary charge they placed on me. If i could have just finished paying off the phone it would have been fine. But there was no way I could float a bill that amounted to paying for an iPhone twice. They asked for an arbitrarily large amount of money in the form of a late fee, and when I couldn't pay, they tanked my credit at the absolute worst time. I highly recommend you buy a phone somewhere else and signing with a different (and cheaper) cell service.

Don't trust T Mobile when they tell you your bill is a certain amount! I have been paying other fees as if paying for my bill and someone elses. I am usually charged a extra 30 to 60 dollars a month without stating what the extra charges are for. Also do not fall for their "Free" phone plan! When you add up the extra payments on their phone from providing your own phone... you can buy 4 of the same phones with their extra charges. Don't get suckered into that scheme! I am done with them and switching companies. Update: I returned everything back over to T mobile. Instead of billing me where I canceled my service with them, they are sending my bill to collections as a act of revenge where they was going to charge me a 70 dollar hidden fee outside my billing cycle and charge it again added to my bill which would have been 200 dollars. NO 5G internet and cellphone service anywhere cost 270.00 dollars a month. Also I found out T Mobile are also a Banking Institution like USAA insurance. Any company that offers dual service tied to a bank will steal money from you any way they can. I am now with Verizon, same service and a whole lot cheaper!

Tip for consumers:
Beware! T Mobile is also a Banking Institution

I have been waiting for over a month now for a new upgrade only to finally find out that I received an e-mail saying it was canceled. Naturally I called them and they couldn't figure out what the problem was, they didn't provide much help all they can do is 'reprocess' it. Which now means I have to wait another 24 Hours before it even goes in, kind you, the phone was supposed to be here a week or two ago. While I was on the call they tried to get me to take advantage of their new 'promotion' which I declined, because last time I got a 'promotion' it up'd my bill quite a lot despite being told it would not effect my bill at all. This is super frustrating, I don't want to place another order, I already had a order and now I have to wait even longer, I estimate I'll probably get my new phone 2 months from now! And before you say "just get it physically!" I already tired that and said the deal was only available through the App/Website. This freaking ridiculous man. I want what I payed for and am very dissatisfied.

Paid $75.00/month for unlimited data but only got 200 megabytes because T-Mobile has no cell towers in this area. Called in May to ask what was going on and rep said since T-Mo has no cell towers I was on AT&T network and data is capped at 200 megabytes. Told him I wasn't paying $75.00/month for essentially no data and he agreed it made no sense and said he would switch me to their $25.00/month plan with no data. That was late May. On June 9th I switched service to AT&T so I could get data. On June 19th T-Mobile bills me another $75.00 (takes it out of my account). Call and they say they couldn't switch during the billing cycle. Yet they have charged me $75.00 for the UPCOMING billing cycle!

So T-Mobile has charged me $150.00 for 2 months of "Unlimited" data service and I've gotten a total of 200 megabytes of data! You could not PAY ME TO GO BACK TO T-MOBILE!

So I thought I would maybe use my hot spot itermittentlyso I "suspended" my account on 2/28/23. Today
I got a notice my bill is ready. I called and apparently you have to still pay almost what the hot spot costs to have it on hold which no one ever explained when I suspended the unit. So in order to cancel it I had to pay $19.99 for not using it. RIP OFF. DO NOT USE TMOBLILE Half of the time it was sketchy for even recieving a signal.

Be sure to ask if there are any charges you need to be informed of.

I had trouble activating my new Google Pixel 7a. After calling the CS specialist Thursday August 3, she deactivated my "old" phone, placed a request to activate the Google Pixel & DEACTIVATED IT TOO! I was without service all day til I walked into the store on Avenue H in Rosenberg. Within less than 2 minutes, MANUEL did his magic" and activated my phone! He is a genius! Thank you, Manuel, for taking the time to listen to my tale of woe & frustration & getting my phone activated! You ROCK

Me and my family has been with Tmobile for a long time and their services has gone down! Been having problems with them for a little over a year but I always gave a second chance. Had a watch line that wasn't even working properly. Store told me the number wasn't paired correctly to the watch and I called customer support, was told the same thing but when I asked for a refund or credit for the months that I paid but never got to use, they turned it around and said they can't verify that it wasn't used, even though IT WASNT PAIRED. T-mobile gives false information and when you pay a lot more than expected they just tell you "sorry, I don't know who you spoke with but that's not how we do it" they need to train their staffs better.

T-mobile store employees are no better! They don't know anything and cannot do anything on their end as well. All the staffs can do is stand there and sell phones! I DO NOT RECOMMEND T-MOBILE TO ANYONE!

I been a tmobile customer for 14 years and I can't believe I'm still with them. This is the definetly the last month with them I rather not have a phone. I CALLED in to make a payment and the charge me a stupid $5 fee to make a payment early, and the only reason was, I work crazy hours and for some reason I can get there app to take my payment. But that's not even the worst part I just bought the new S8 phone and paid it in full cash. Once I got home it wouldn't work so I CALLED in and they told me it was not set up on there end and they had to charge me a $20 upgrade charge for it to work properly. That right there is some B. S. I just paid tmobile $750 now they want another 20 to allow it to work, A big $#*! YOU tmobile way to rob your long time customer I mean ex-customer

I used to suggest TMobile to all my friends and relatives. This is no longer the case. In the last year, their service has gotten horrible. They've added lines incorrectly to our account through promotion mistakes and have been unable to remove them. At one time Tmobile had incorrectly added seven lines to our account with only four people on the account. They said it was representative errors, or that I had been tricked into adding line but they were unable to remove them. I spent HOURS on the phone with them and in store only to have representatives say each time it was all fixed but it never was. Finally two months ago I closed my entire account. I was also assured it was closed and I check to see I no longer had access to any account info online. Today they auto drafted $140 from my account stating that one of the fraudulent lines that I had reported as being assigned to us in error was still active. They still are trying to charge me for a line, service and phone that is not in use for a total of around $800 total. Again they assured me the line is close but I never receive any invoices or bills or paperwork documenting what they are charging me for...just a representative that says "take my word for it." I've reported TMobile to the BBB so I DO NOT RECOMMEND them.

I recently got 5g service with t-mobile and it's the pits.
If you're in a good service area it is fast but, if you like to go to the beach or the mountains or, as in my case, are 10 feet out of the coverage area it sucks. I get no service at home, even connected to wifi.
I'm also a truck driver and need service for emergencies and road conditions and get nothing from Pendleton, Oregon to Ontario, Oregon except for a brief moment through Baker City. I had to drive 10 miles to report a roll over.
I've called technical support and have had several texting conversations and nothing has improved.
I keep telling them that 5g doesn't work for me and want my money back and my 4g service back and nothing.
I feel they're stonewalling me past my money back period so I'll be stuck with this.
Stay away from 5g until they can cover as much as 4g.
And another thing, how come the 5g phones can't get 4g service but get LTE, 3g, and 2g? That's just stupid and would solve their lousy 5g problems until they really can reach the same coverage areas.
STAY 4G for a few more years if you want any service.

Tip for consumers:
That 5g coverage is terrible and 5g phones don't receive 4g service, even if connected to wifi.

July 13th my account was compromised. Spent many hours on hold as well as communicating via FB messenger. After wasting hours of my time trying to fix the issue, I was told they had it corrected and would "escalate" my account to the fraud unit. For some reason a TMobile representative cancelled my account instead of reporting it as fraud and contacting me to change my personal Information. They would credit 1 month on my account for my trouble. Yesterday, I received a text that they were charging me the amount they were supposed to credit, plus an additional $10.
I called today regarding the charges and am not able to access my TMobile account, nor can they access it. I had been on Hold over 3 hours and have been transferred several times, escalated to a supervisor call, and hung up on. I am typing this message while on hold. I called TMobile again and am again transferred to a Supervisor. He informed me my account was never reported to the fraud department. Then in mid sentence put me on hold. I was on hold for over 2 hours and he just hung up on me. Now I will have to report to my credit agencies and my bank due to their errors. Talk about security and data breach! I will be going with another company as soon as I get this straightened out.

I came in to replace my screen protector and I was attacked by rudeness due to me only coming in for that. I pay for insurance and there should not be an issue for me to come in just for that. The manager Karla was right next to the mobile expert Manny who seem like he was annoyed that he had to replace it as well as that, was the only reason why I came in the store.
I know commission is what they make their money off, but the customer service is not what they are there for. Manager Karla should have said something. It's not the first, second or third tome coming into that store. I usually work with another Expert but she was not there, which I asked for when the rudeness started and they dismissed me quickly stating she was not there. It was not just myself coming in for a replacement it was my mother as well, and she notice it to. Your face to face with customers and there service was not the Magenta Glove. And not to sound racist they only catered to the Spanish community not helpful when you walk in.

We changed from AT&T to T-Mobile only because they offered two free iPhones and the monthly cost was supposed to be low. Instead there are hidden costs such as international calls (besides others). Which per the contract was included in the monthly bill.
Instead, we were charged almost $200 for a 30 minute phone call. When we called the support line, we got the runaround and they claimed that it was free only if you made calls outside the United States to local cell phones in another country there was no charge. This is not specified in the contract, and hence should've been reversed, and given credit for the entire amount which they did not. In addition, we were being charged for the Internet services, which we did not have even though we returned the server the same day we purchased the phones. Hence, they should've been zero charge, which ultimately was reversed but still we had to jump through hoops to get it done. It involved several visits to the local store to reverse the charges and almost 4 weeks before it was reversed. As far as reception of voice calls and drop calls it is abominable. They do not have the coverage that they claim to have in the so-called 5G network.
If someone is contemplating on switching services I would strongly advise against using T-Mobile.
I would give them a zero rating, if they were such a scale
