I purchased five bags for the first time a month ago. Four came immediately. The last took about another month to come. I was very concerned as to the delay, however the Real Real kept in communication with me on a regular basis to update me on the warehouse situation and the shipping info. I appreciated it. My bag came finally and all was well.

Received a fake Chanel and they were to quick to respond and willing to help... but shouldn't all this hassle have been avoided by having the items actually authenticated before selling? Their "authentication services" seem to be either too lax or completely nonexistent because I was able to tell the item I received was a fake at first glance.

The item descriptions are very vague. They generalize a lot but if they would just take the time to actually measure the item it would be easier to find a good fit. Like say says size large but fits more like medium or this item is tight in arms. Just talk about the fit more. Say if it has stretch or if it's not. I buy lots of clothes off this page unfortunately 1/2 become goal clothes or I consigned them elsewhere.

I was really excited about this site and bought several items, and then... I received a pair of fake Tiffany earrings. I let the site know... sent photos etc. but they hotlydenied it, saying how hard they work to authenticate. Really? I have a real pair of the same earrings and Ray Charles could tell the difference. And then to return them, ew boy, what a ridiculously rigorous process. I said, 'forget it' and gave them away. Won't be buying anything from therealreal.com ever again. Burn me once...

I'm a long time Consignor and a shopper or at least I was until recently, Unfortunately I've had back to back poor experiences recently as a Consignor and as a shopper. There are many other choices if I want to sell my premium designers in new condition and 50% off. I don't go to the real real to heavily discount unnecessarily. So unfortunately I'll be rarely consigning at The Real Real going forward. Regarding shopping, there are mistakes on listings and I buy premium designers which are always final sale and The Real Real wont take them back, so I'm now no longer a shopper. Finally the responses from the customer service agents are often condescending. Overall my experience recently has not at all been positive.

Beware - if you buy something from them they probably won't let you consign it on their site if you decide you no longer want it. Had several items they refused even though they were bought from them (and majority not used or only worn once). I explained I purchased from them and was told it is not a place to resell used items. Isn't that what they do? And also that their designer list is constantly evolving. One pair of Prada shoes was never worn by me but not accepted now for 'excessive wear'. And I was told that I could be lying - they have no way of knowing. Great customer service!

Shopping from Australia the site showed all prices in AUD, and a flat shipping fee was applied to my large order. My purchases arrived over three UPS deliveries within ten days. It was a great experience.

I ordered a LV Speedy 30 bag, wich looked like new on the site, and in real life it had a big stain on the handle and was much more worn out. I contacted them immediately, but since then i got no reply... Stay away from them!

Received "high rise jeans" - they were mid to low rise. I had to pay $12 each way for shipping, including the return, so I am out $24 for jeans that didn't match the site description. This isn't the first time I've run into this issue with TRR.

Your Associate was very pleasant, professional and listened to clearly understood the reason for my phone call. She promptly provided guidance for my inquiry. It was a pleasure not to speak to a recording or an answering service that is placed out of the countrya real plus!

Horrible experience sending an item for consignment. I sent a full length beaded gown in the quality garment bag and with the wooden hanger that clasps the garment in place on the hanger. They sent the dress back in one of those cheap garment bags that was half the size and meant for a suit jacket or a very short dress. My gown was bunched up in a pile at the bottom. I can't store my dress without a bag, and now it needs to be steamed since it was balled up for days. I tried speaking with customer service to get them to replace the garment bag, but they claim to have sent everything back and at best will give me a credit to the store. Horrible customer service experience. Do NOT consign with them - they will not take care of your belongings.

The company took possession of my goods. Valued them at a price. Promised to return my items if they didn't sell at that price. Promised not to lower the price before returning them. Instead the sold the items at a lower price without telling me and gave them to the buyer. Broke terms of contract and theft of goods.

They Sold me a FAKE Louis Vuitton Bag. They are still selling fakes and not doing anything about it.
I took this bag to Louis Vuitton to be repaired! I used it once and the leather ripped. They informed me it was fake. How embarrassing!

I purchase more and more of my wardrobe on this site because the clothes are very well-made, stylish and clean. If you have ever felt icky about wearing previously owned clothes or thought you might hurl when you stepped into a consignment shop, don't worry. The Real Real does not need a trigger warning. The clothes are very clean and show no signs of wear. They are delivered in sweet little bags that can be re-used for travel or to keep you organized. The site is easy to navigate with consistent photos of the merchandise. Returns are easy and the staff members are exceptionally good at their jobs. Clothes, shoes, bags, and especially jewelry are fun to browse. You can build a list of your faves and get notified when the price drops. And every hour there is new and exciting merchandise to browse. It's the website you would design for yourself.

I was told that I could send items back for store credit. When I immediately replied back that I would like to, I received no response. I have tried several additional times to follow up with this, and have not been successful.

Additionally, they are now requiring consignors to submit their Social Security Numbers in order to receive payouts or site credit for their consignments. This is absurd and a total violation of privacy. No other consignment site requires this. I will not do this, and therefore will not send any additional items to be sold on The Real Real.

People are always complaining that they want to speak to a real person well you get a RealReal person here! Get it? Seriously though, the rep I spoke to was kind, attentive, and efficient! Someone got back to me right away and from there it was the easiest thing ever. I am completely satisfied with my experience and the customer service is what makes me a repeat customer anywhere. Thanks again you guys!

Most of the products were satisfactory.
However, unlike the description of 'Condition: Excellent. No visible signs of wear',
One of the products has large contamination.
I'm guessing it probably happened during the packaging process.

Sold over a thousand dollars worth of merchandise in perfect condition for $80 commission. Do not be fooled their commission structure is meant to confuse you, you think you're selling for nothing less than 65% of whatever price they come up with (always ridiculously low), then they continue to decrease it with no notice and pay you 20% commission. It's AWFUL! They sold 3 of my items without me ever knowing or approving the price, example $350 Ramy Brook dresss for $75 and I got $15, it still had the tags on it! Now they are trying to charge me $200 to send MY items back. You're better off with ANY other service or selling on your own - you will always come out on top. This whole thing is one big scam meant to rob you.

Very pleased with my first purchase. It went smooth and fast. I also like the payment options you guys offer. I think a payment plan is very convenient for those who can't pay the full amount at once. I am planning on shopping with RealReal in the future. Thank you!

The original quotes of my items were higher priced then when they actually listed them. I mailed in 7 designer items, 1 was rejected and was to be mailed back. Another wasn't listed correctly resulted in wrong pricing. Rejected item was lost (stolen) and never returned even though I was compensated and the other item I'm still working on to get compensated correctly. Beware that not everything goes smoothly. Will not consign with them again.

I was pleased with my RealReal purchases as two out of three fit very well and looked good. Both were high quality items. That said, one had a frayed hem all the way around, which was not listed in the online notes. I liked the dress enough to keep it and have it fixed but was disappointed that the damage wasn't mentioned as it was very noticeable and, in my opinion, not wearable as is.

I sent a couple of very nice dresses that retailed for around $400 here. Both were in excellent condition. After they priced them, put them on sale and then I got my cut I only received around $13 for each. I would have kept them for that!
