Thought, I'm very satisfied of the fast shipping, and good deals offers by the company,, I'm not feeling the same when it comes to the returns. It seems like not just the returning fee, around $16, is deducted but also the percentage that was given when I purchased them. Other than that, I'm happy being TRR customer.
Awful company for consignors. They take advantage by pricing the items very low and almost immediately discounting them. Instead of the RealReal getting a commission as mediators, they give a commission to the seller. When I saw how much they discounted (and immediately sold) my item, I asked them to return the rest. They charge $15 per item to return them. Additionally, they keep $10 off the monthly check as a "check by mail fee". Their model is not working and the customers are punished for it. Stay away!
They Sold me a FAKE Louis Vuitton Bag. They are still selling fakes and not doing anything about it.
I took this bag to Louis Vuitton to be repaired! I used it once and the leather ripped. They informed me it was fake. How embarrassing!

I was told that I could send items back for store credit. When I immediately replied back that I would like to, I received no response. I have tried several additional times to follow up with this, and have not been successful.
Additionally, they are now requiring consignors to submit their Social Security Numbers in order to receive payouts or site credit for their consignments. This is absurd and a total violation of privacy. No other consignment site requires this. I will not do this, and therefore will not send any additional items to be sold on The Real Real.

I am pandemic shopping dresses for my Son's wedding and have ordered from several sites, including big name department stores. The RealReal is the top site for service, hands down. Shipping is quick, reliable, and packaging feels luxurious. Return policy is very easy to use. I've saved over 90% from retail on the dresses I've ordered.

People are always complaining that they want to speak to a real person well you get a RealReal person here! Get it? Seriously though, the rep I spoke to was kind, attentive, and efficient! If you crave well made clothes and shoes and also want to offset your carbon footprint, The Real Real is the site for you. I purchase more and more of my wardrobe on this site because the clothes are very well-made, stylish and clean. If you have ever felt icky about wearing previously owned clothes or thought you might hurl when you stepped into a consignment shop, don't worry. The Real Real does not need a trigger warning. The clothes are very clean and show no signs of wear. They are delivered in sweet little bags that can be re-used for travel or to keep you organized. The site is easy to navigate with consistent photos of the merchandise. Returns are easy and the staff members are exceptionally good at their jobs. Clothes, shoes, bags, and especially jewelry are fun to browse. You can build a list of your faves and get notified when the price drops. And every hour there is new and exciting merchandise to browse. It's the website you would design for yourself.

I was pleased with my RealReal purchases as two out of three fit very well and looked good. Both were high quality items. That said, one had a frayed hem all the way around, which was not listed in the online notes. I liked the dress enough to keep it and have it fixed but was disappointed that the damage wasn't mentioned as it was very noticeable and, in my opinion, not wearable as is.

One of the products has large contamination.
I'm guessing it probably happened during the packaging process.

My husband purchased a Chanel boy shopper which I picked out for my Christmas present. It was a final sale. I was disappointed because the real real did not disclose that on one of the handles the leather was coming off. I own several authentic Chanel bags that I purchased new and I've had for many years. I have never had the leather come off of the purse. It makes me question the authenticity of the bag.

The items are great, however they often come smelling "used" ie with the previous owners perfume and this is not listed in the listing. Also I've sent in a cashmere sweater to be sold and it still hasn't yet and I have no idea where the listing is… rates are abismal for commission

I sent a couple of very nice dresses that retailed for around $400 here. Both were in excellent condition. After they priced them, put them on sale and then I got my cut I only received around $13 for each. I would have kept them for that!

Every purchase i have made has been authentic merchandise, ships out fast and have never had a problem or issue where I had to send back. I feel confident in all of my purchases and love that I can buy with knowing that my purchase is real.

I purchase quite a bit of merch at TRR from clothes to shoes to Chanel bags. 90 % good experience. The only trouble I have had is in the condition description, with a few item being in poor condition. The return process has been easy ( except for handbags) on the items I don't want.

If you send items to be sold, takes a minimum of 3 -4 weeks before they can process them and get them up on their site for sale. There is no rhyme or reason regarding what they will accept for sale. I have had to escalate more than once for them to take items (which were initially refused) from Designers on their directory. I had an issue today - trying to re-consign at item. I asked NOT to speak with the person assigned to me (as he has horrible follow through). Left a message for his Supervisor who did not call me back. The incompetent person assigned to me called me back and then hung up on me! Called in again and got stuck in another queue to try and get a name for escalation. The person who answered had no idea who to refer me to and said she would take a note but it would take 24-48 hours to get a response! HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!

The app is a dream to use and has great photos and notes on sizing. I found many fab items that all arrived beautifully. Every piece but one worked for me size-wise. The only thing that was confusing on the app was the return procedure. I sent a few emails to clarify but didn't hear back. Luckily I live in LA so I did it in person. The first person I saw at the store was so rude to me I was shocked. I found another desk with a lovely person to handle the return and they were just as professional as the shopping site and all is well now.

I've been shopping with TRR for the last 4 years and recently purchased 2 pairs of expensive shoes (1 as a present) and they both look fake. Contacted a Customer Services straight away and they still haven't resolved my issue nor acknowledge my follow up emails for the last 2 weeks. Ignorance is not a customer service and I'm truly disappointed.

Bought a Narcisio Rodriguez jacket, final sale. Opened package to find the jacket was damaged it looks like a cigarette burn on the front, which is very obvious. The product description identified a "minor mark" in front. Not minor at all, and I'm stuck with it as it is a final sale. Had same issue with a white cashmere Valentino jacket which had a noticeable stain on the front. I will never buy final sale items again, but TRR should really allow for returns when the garments are damaged and you are not able to tell from the pictures the extent of the damage. In other purchases, and consignments, I've thought the customer support was very good, though.

Originally got an email from UPS saying my package was delivered & it wasn't. It came the next day. Then my other package came a few days later (i ordered two items). But the second package came absolutely destroyed. Like the box was no longer a box just pieces of cardboard and the only thing protecting the item i ordered was the Real Real white bag it comes in which wasn't even white anymore. They need a better shipping partner for such expensive items. Need to require signature and pack things better. My item came dirty and without the strap i was expecting. Probably won't be ordering again..

I have had nothing but a great experience with the RR. Everything I have ever purchased arrived quickly and as described online. And, on the rare occasion when I had to return an item, the return process was seamless and my credit card was credited immediately. The only negative I would point out is that I wish the shipping was free and that returns were free as well.

This experience undermines one's ability to be confident in their online purchase process as its unclear whether TheRealReal will honour binding transactions.
