Cut the grass, pulled weeds, finished with mulch all in 30 min! Did a fantastic job! Thank you Roberto Lopez from Lopez Landscaping and tree Services. *******226
Don't bother working with them! They are useless and using bots and not qualified leads that request a job and want to pay 50 bucks while some projects are minimum $500-750. No customer service total bs and you will lose loads of money on "leads" as they call them but it's just fake accounts that show some sort of activity.
I used the service once, next time I tried to use it my account had been deactivated. They tell me it's because I am associated with a company I have never even heard of. Then won't tell me how I am connected or how they came up with the connection.

Took my computer to Venom, PC this am with Blue Screen and got it back at 6pm with a new hard drive with all files cloned. Very reasonable cost and I will return. Highly recommend Venom PC in Urbandale, Iowa. $#*! Nelson

The 5 stars are very much deserved. We had a Tuff Shed that we'd given away to someone who would dismantle it and take it and all the trash away. He made a huge mess, including wallboard and insulation we had in the shed strewn around the yard and the shed only half torn apart after more than a week. Enter In-Home Hauling and Nilton. They brought their big truck and between the two of them finished the demolition, took away the pieces and all the stuff we'd stored in the shed, and finished in a day--a pretty rainy day, at that. They even picked up little pieces from the lawn and swept and washed down the patio and driveway. It looks GREAT! They're worth every penny of the reasonable amount they charge.

I initially signed up for the service, as a professional and had NO luck. That was BEFORE the price increase. Then, when I needed a moving company and a plumber, I turned to Thumbtack in hopes of finding a reasonably priced, local professional to hire for these services. As a consumer, I was disappointed in the responses I got, they were WAY overpriced. As a provider, with 5 star reviews and a longstanding history of excellent services, I wasted time and money on Thumbtack for finding new clients, I have never gotten a single response from the quotes I have sent. I am pretty convinced that there is something shady about this company and I don't think that my quotes are even being sent. I won't use Thumbtack again, because there is no way to even track or confirm that the quotes are being sent/received and that doesn't make sense. Food me once, shame on you... fool me twice, shame on me!

The problem was one I thought run of the mill. Jarid Hardee fixed it, letting me know other things, repaired, which he attributed with having compounded problem. This was a biweekly issue, that has not reoccurred in months! Professional, punctual, purposeful making plumbing problems prevented!.

So far we are a little uneasy with this site. We have had a few quotes out and some no shows to the job. Recently we have had a new quote come in and well the gc's license number is non existent with the state. I thought we were protected by this site and people are screened? Another thing is the gc wanted $35k up front. How legit is this site and are we truly protected? Aside from possibly being scammed we don't know who we are letting into our home if they are not being screened. Thank you.

As a widow in an older house in Phoenix lots of minor repair jobs stack up. A leaky toilet hose rotted some drywall. My wooden back fence needed attention and my swamp cooler was constantly whining. I had a leak in the garage roof. Ian Kinkade from Midas Welby's not only did the repairs, but made me comfortable about having him in my home. He's on my list of favorite people.

I have used Thumbtak and what I have found is that they are a vehicle for start up vendors that often (or on my cases) go out of business when the project does not work out. In two cases Thumbtak's resolution team stated that "there is nothing that they could do as the vendor is out of business". In one case a nursery (Blue Print Landscaping) planted the wrong trees (I paid for Pear Trees and they planted Maple) of which I paid more than $2,000 for and in the other case a vendor/electrician broke one of my exterior $500 cameras and said they would pay for it and they too went out of business and Thumbtak only offers their condolences. Go to Angie's List. Some how I thought Thumbtack was reputable and they are not.

I hired a handyman from this site he didn't finish the job and wouldn't give me half of my money back can't say his name right now because I am going to take him to court but when over i will because I don't want this man to take advantage of another single black woman in Birmingham it's the honor of it took 700 dollars from me

At first everything was fine, I was getting recommendations but then I had upcoming projects and each time I was getting these outrageous number for little things. You can't go in and delete a project it just wants to know which of the recommendations did you use. People message you over and over. I found the worst wedding decorator on there. She communicated well through thumbtack then after I paid she disappeared. I think thumbtacks needs stricter rules for people offering their services. Like Thumbtacks need to start accepting reference numbers where they call the previous client or the thumbtacker for feed back. Too many people are getting scammed

Do not use thumbtack! They use your legal name/information without permission and then when you complain about it on their contact page, they hang up on you! Definitely a BREACH OF PRIVACY. Also, you'll pay $10 or more on every quote that someone contacts you on even if they don't choose you! Then thumbtack blames you if you don't make the sale. Their app is horrible and they try to strongarm you into choices you don't want! Don't use thumbtack!

Very disappointed that this service cant give me any information on why I violated terms on an account I have never had.
Their reply:
I do understand that you wanted to know more about the account that is linked to yours, we didn't take this action lightly, and I understand that you aren't happy with the decision. But due to the association we uncovered, your account will remain closed.
Until we can address and resolve the concerns, neither account standing can be reconsidered. You're welcome to have the owner of the account with the business name of xxxxc reach out to us to understand their next steps.
But they wont tell me anything. So beware. If you want to open an account to grow your business but some other hacker has used your name or something to rip someone off you may never clear your name.

I called Ryan and asked for a quote and basically he didn't give me one on the phone, basically said he will give it to you when he gets here. Needless to say Ryan was supposed show up Thursday and he didn't he said he could come on the Saturday because I told him I already had the garbage disposal fixed, it was just an Allen key needed to turn the blades. So we talked on the phone and he decided he was gonna come on Saturday between 1 PM and 1:30 PM. It is now 3 PM and he still hasn't shown. I'm sure he's not showing at this point. I have nothing good to say about his work, and I have nothing bad to say about his work because he never showed up for me to review it but that should tell you a lot about the person doing the work. Ryan The Handyman from Thumbtack!
Tip for consumers:
I haven’t had much success with thumbtack actually no success, and I don’t understand why I keep going back. It just seems like a lot of these local handyman plumbers electricians they don’t advertise in the papers like they used to. Now they go to the apps which is ridiculous because they have to pay for a lead whether they get it or not. They should get back to an ad in the papers or good old flyers always did the trick when I had my painting business many many years ago lol

I tried to see if this would work to get some work on the side. Quoting jobs I tested the waters first quotes normal rates. Mind you Iam THEE cheapest garage door company around. $60 service call?! Unheard of everyone else is 80,100,120 and so on. I tested the scam water on a repair I quoted 50 bucks! And they passed after receiving the quote. Lmao deff inside thumbtack workers posting fake leads

First off, they could care less about you. (The provider)
Second, it's nothing but fake customers and the tack won't give me the customers contact info so I have to use there site to contact my "customers".
Third, there website disign is awful. After I pay there stupid qoute fee, I have the right to every bit of their contact info.
Fourth, because I need thumbtack to reach out to my customers it almost always ends in disaster because there servers work less than half the time.

I joined this site in hopes of better my business as photographer. At first i thought the site as great until i realized you cannot contact any of jobs being requested in your area they make sure to hide all contact information. As a result you pay $8.99 for 5 credits to send a quote to the costumer who seems interested in your services. You lose money on buying credits for quotes for leads they send you.
The site is rip off and should be reported to the BBB.

Thumbtack should screen skilled tradesmen (HVAC /Plumbers) - I have an employee who is advertising on thumbtack who has been driving my company truck and doing work. Who would do business with someone like that.Do not be confused, he is not AOK.

Hi Peter,
I’m so sorry that this has happened. It’s definitely not something that Thumbtack stands behind. We have a great Marketplace Integrity here team that would love to talk to you about this. Please give us a call at (800) 343-1710 at your earliest convenience.
We look forward to speaking to you!
DO NOT use this website. There is no customer service to call. How does a business function without having customer service? There is no number to call. When you call a number provided, you are asked to text with someone about your issue. Really? This is your best solution? EXCLUDING many customers who might rely on this service? This website has been terrible from the beginning and has not gotten better, possibly worse. I would recommend gigmaster/bash or backstage. Or even simply finding people yourself! DO NOT USE THIS WEBSITE.
Tip for consumers:
dont use it

While I have hired a few pros from Thumbtack that did a great job, they are not truthful in saying that all of their pros are licensed and insured. I actually had a cabinet refinisher that I interviewed tell me that he had neither. It was a waste of my time and his. The pro that I hired does have a license and insurance, however I am going into the third week of having my cabinets painted in a mid-sized kitchen which I feel is way too long for someone who is supposed to be a professional. I could have done it myself in that amount of time. It may not have been as good of a job (I can't even tell yet how good this job is going to turn out) but it would be done. My point is, be very careful when hiring someone on Thumbtack, ask a lot of questions and get a timeline in the contract. It seems that any pro can be on there and claim that they can do the job.

I am a model in the Bel Air, MD area and have had the pleasure to work with Jared Wolfe. His work is priceless and he is very nice to work with. I recommend that if you are ever able to shoot or work with him that you do! It will be a great experience and opportunity for you! He is one of the best in the area!

MaryEllen Yeo tutored my daughter for the SATs over the past. She was fabulous and helped bring her scores up. I would thoroughly recommend MaryEllen as a tutor for any student. My daughter said, "Mom, MaryEllen is more than a tutor. She is like a Life Coach!" I totally agree as MaryEllen gave her hints an advice on how to approach any situation.

I contacted 5 of their "Pros" and not 1 of them got back to me. And if you go on Thumbtacks website to find anything else you'll find there is no way to contact you but they will send you a No Reply email wanting to know if you hired them? How can they not see NO ONE contacted me? They suck will never use or recommend.

I have known Monib Thomas as a life coach and counseler for 17 years. I have experienced his expertise in my life, as well as sent others to him for help. Ive never met anyone who was not extremely impressed with the guidance, help and recommendations he has provided. I would never hesitate to give him the highest reference and review possible.

If you looking for a handyman to do plumbing work in your home this is the place to go to find one. Most of their so-called pluming professionals are NOT licensed. If you are looking for a licensed and insured plumber to come into your home try Homeadvisor.com. Homeadvisor requires all of their professionals to be licensed and insured.

Vendors and Professionals BE AWARE
Thumbtack will charge you wrongfully for leads, even tho they admit you should not be charged, they still don't give you refund for it. You get charged even tho lead is not in your budget range. I have email from support team member stating i should not be charged automatically but declined to give a refund for charged amount! How much money did they wrongfully charged and how much money did Thumbtack made profit out of it?
