Cut the grass, pulled weeds, finished with mulch all in 30 min! Did a fantastic job! Thank you Roberto Lopez from Lopez Landscaping and tree Services. *******226
Don't bother working with them! They are useless and using bots and not qualified leads that request a job and want to pay 50 bucks while some projects are minimum $500-750. No customer service total bs and you will lose loads of money on "leads" as they call them but it's just fake accounts that show some sort of activity.
They take your money whether the lead is viable or not. Even when the season is "at rest", for: example dead of winter, and July (vacation month). The leads keep flying - but no one seems to be serious. People type in while drunk at night thinking about doing a kitchen or bath remodel, then wake-up and change their mind. You get what you pay for. It allows people to shop for home and commercial improvements to real property the same as you would shop for a 12 pack of toilet paper at the big box. They are not screening consumers correctly. Also, they are screening contractors for EPA RRP rule certification, which means they may be enabling breaking of federal law. HELLO FEDS, WHERE ARE YOU?!

The owners name is Rufus Banfield, he works out of lake nona and he is pleasant, polite and, a steady hard worker. He pressure washed my vinyl covered double-wide home, including the drive and side walks. All the trim and front door. His work is excellent to say the least and very economical!
Tip for consumers:
none at this time.

I had high hopes and I have received one dog walking job since I signed up 4 months ago. I had one possible who ended up going with someone else. Seems like you have to pay out money with nothing in return. I have had better luck get referrals by word of mouth.

Random people looking for maybe taking a music lesson send a request and we-teachers have to pay to respond them.
It'd be better if we-teachers just pay one amount for year and students can see our profiles and decide if contact us or not.
This methodology of marketing is not convenient for us.

This group of people were sending me fake quotes so I would send a response to the customers and they would charge me for sending these responses. They have done it multiple times. Thank God my husband warned me, and I unsubscribed. Beware, they are pure greedy thieves, and they constantly raise their fees and change their web settings so they could make more cash at the customers losses, they do not even inform the clients ahead of time on the price changes. They are not trusty. Their web must be shut down.
In my eyes they deserve to go to jail.

Don't plan on building your business reputation on this website. As soon as you get established with reviews they will delete your account and tell you they currently do not advertise for your business category anymore. It happened to me. I have had my business with them since 2011 (that is 8 years). I had 10 - 5 star reviews and they just threw them out and deleted my account. I even paid for a criminal background check to just have my account deleted. They are a horrible business.

Brandon painted my house and never finished. He did little prep, bad workers and did a sloppy job. Now I have to hire someone else for a few thousand more. What a total ripoff. Even got paint on my brand new roof. I complained and Thumbtack never helped me get him or my money back.

Just started using thumbtack about a week ago! This site does not even have a call center that you can call in and ask questions they talk to you via text only and chatting on Internet, extremely unprofessional! Can't get my questions answered never got a job hadmore than 10 job quotes in less than a week. The credits jumped from two credits to 14 credit I've spent around 40.00 bucks for nothing... it's extremely frustrating to deal with your business through texting this company at this time I would not recommend some te it's extremely frustrating to deal with your business through texting this company at this time I would not recommend Thumbtack

My A/C stopped working last night and was worried the next day of who I will call to look at it. I saw this Thumbtack website and filled out a request. In just about 10 mins Fernando called and said he can look at it this afternoon. He came in about 1/2 hour. He looked at it and then told me what needs to be done. I thought he needs to come back to do what needs to be done but he said he can do it now. I was so happy that he did it, changed the thermostat, freon needed to be refilled and then he serviced my unit. He is very professional, very quick, honest and respectful. I would recommend thumbtack and ask for Fernando. Thanks Fernando.

I was very happy with the work of CLS-Max. Chris is the owner and he completed my projects in a timely fashion. Professional and efficient.
I would recommend this handyman service.
I will certainly call CLS-Max for other projects.

The crew was very professional and they worked very quickly to get me moved into my new apartment. They were very friendly and personable. There was a delay for them to get to the location, but that is understandable given that there was a severe thunderstorm at the time they were scheduled to arrive, so we had to move it forward and they were delayed with the customer before me. But once they got there, everything was taken care of, and more quickly than I anticipated. They were able to get everything done in a two hour period and there was some big furniture which needed to be broken down and put back together again. There were a few scratches on the bed headboard, but I was able to cover them with scratch cover.
I would recommend their services to anyone wanting help with a local move in Jefferson City or Columbia.

There isn't a good way to make money on this website as a photographer. You can get lucky and hit a few shoots that'll make you money, but you'll end up spending the same in bidding for the quotes or paying more than you made.
Their model is this; you send a quote or have it automatically setup to send and if they customer replies in any way... you pay for the quote, which could be from $5-$50. This adds up really quick and most of the time you just get people that are trying to get a better idea of what's offered or trying to field the market and see if they can find a better price. You usually end up on the losing end of this model, thumbtack doesn't really care at all, they're making money on it and aren't going to change anytime soon.
Also, it's really skeptical when all they have to do is have a team of people asking bland questions to your quotes to create a payday for themselves.

After reviewing how much I have invested in Thumbtack comparing to what I have received, the losses don't justify the earnings.
Many Thumbtack pros have expressed their frustration as well for the way Thumbtack charges its fees. Instead of being an App like Fiverr and other ones where the client truly hires the Pro, and the App charges through their own system, Thumbtack chooses to take the money regardless whether the pro gets hired or not.
A simple reply from a client means a charge for the Pro. This is unethical and absurd.
Clients don't know this policy and they are entitled to ask questions to the pros. And a simple reply means a service charge for the Pro, plus, with different amounts.
Again, this is absurd and a heartless way of doing business.

I am a beauty pro who signed up for thumbtack and revived tons of leads that never followed through for services. I had to get another debit card due to thumbtack continously charging my account crazy amounts of money multiple times a day for clients I didn't receive. Horrible company!

Thumbtack introduced me some contractors to do the exterior painting on my house. The contractors promised to finish the job in 1 week. I paid them 100% of payment they asked for. They did not show up. I waited for four weeks till I cancelled the order and asked for a refund. The contractors disappeared and refused to refund me. I contacted the construction contractors board (CCB). The CCB told me the contractors had no license to operate. I contacted Thumbtack. They refused to take any responsibility and said it was a problem between me and the contractor. Thumbtack is full of scams and corrupts. AVOID THEM.

Romario is the best contractor I have ever worked with. Not only does he do the job perfectly, he goes beyond the job specifications and makes sure what he does looks spectacular with everything around it.
It was a great surprise to look at what he did and I am very happy with it. Complete house painting, stone wall building, fence rebuilding and painting, and land care is that he did.

I've been using thumbtack for a long while. And have gotten some great clients from it. But recently they changed their pay scale and its just a cash grab for A lesser product. They changed the face of it in their newest update (my assumption got bought out) and since then it has slowly gotten worse for their "pros" and more expensive for leads. In which they promoted to us that sending a quote was free. The part that they didnt tell you that if the person responds you get charged. Not for their service working but just for you using it. My highest bill was $53 in but i didnt actually have a conversation with a person. And i'm pretty sure it was a bot. Because i did not hear back from the person just got a initial "are you available for my date" then was charged for it. If the service gets better it may be something to use if they chance the pay scale but they also dont do refunds just credits to your account.

This company is a FRAUD! There should be a class action Lawsuit on this company. Not only do they violate clients and professionals rights they are very deceptive and eluding in their practices! I will never use this company again! Worst company ever and they allow thugs to steal money from their so called clients.

I've been a member on thumbtack for 2 months I must of gave out 30 quotes for cleaning homes, and got no work at all I kept buying points it went from 2 points a quote to 7 points a quote I spent more the $90 hopping something would happen but to my disappointment nothing.
Thumbtack just eats your points and is a scam please don't fall for them they will send you 20 jobs a day and you will give 20 quotes a day and nothing will happen!

1% of Thumbtack leads are real, probably the one who the number of client is available all the other are fake, actually if you read the good reviews below, they are the same name you find on the leads (Jacqueline b, Michelle H, Elizabeth G, Rachel M etc.) I receive Jacqueline B lead probably 3-4 times from different location! Anyway I send 35 quote with no response at all, never! Don't waste your money, Thumbtack make money on you but you will get nothing not even one lead book, only if the client is real but they are rare!
Tip for consumers:
Only use lead where you see "Phone number available after sending quote" that the real client! Avoid the others most of them are fake!

I am a pro, and from what I have seen, one of the best on Thumbtack - over 116 hires (they just removed 7 hires from my profile without any explanation) and over 77 5 star reviews. They have continued to raise the cost of credits, as well as the number of credits to quote jobs with Federal price limits for my profession. When competitors pretend to be perspective clients, they do not refund the credits when jobs are mysteriously removed. Been with them 2 years and looking for alternative sources for my money!

As an Illustrator I thought this site was very useful for gaining new clients. You get emailed client requests daily and have the option to quote your service and price. You have to pay for credits, in order to quote on jobs but it's worth it and your not competing against hundreds of people for the same job. Only five people can quote on one job. When you compare this to sites like Elance, I would say this is a better option.

We hired Oak Harbor Excavating and Landscaping to repair some damage to our landscaping. They came out and completed about 70% of the work within a few days. I was very satisfied with the work that they have completed. Since it was early February, he was not able to purchase the plants that was needed. We agreed that he could finish the job in the spring when plants are available and install a railroad tie. It is now mid-August and he has not returned to complete the job and is avoiding all my calls and text messages. Beware when dealing with this company.

Reporting you guys to the Better Business Bureau. Just found out we paid $50 for 2 lead requests. We got neither job. Called Thumbtack to explain how they calculate these fees and said he wasn't sure but thinks its by cost of job. Then he suggested I not use their service. BEWARE -SCAM!
