I am senior management professional who works for a top 5 global consulting Firm with 20+ years of experience, and hold an Ivy League education. I thought I would have my resume re-written to see what all the hype was about, and after spending $200, I was bitterly disappointed. The resume sent back looked like a child wrote it, the format was very junior, the turn-around times from the writer were slow, and the wording lacked any actual substance - it was rewritten using non-specifics and generalities. Honestly, my original resume looked much better. To be sure, I floated both versions of my resume (the original and re-writen) to recruiters I knew all across the industry, and they agreed, the re-written version was a downgrade from my original.
I'm disgusted by this company. I'm a professional in the recruiting industry and I thought with the situation with the Cornoavirus it would do me good to see if another company could write a better resume for me in case I end up affected. I paid over $200 for this "Service" only to receive a resume a college kid could have written.
Moreover, I received word it would be completed by May 1. I didn't receive my resume first draft until May 6th! Then when I got it it was utterly crap. They eliminated all work past 2016 and highlighted accomplishments from 2015 and back. I can tell you as a specialist in the industry, nobody cares about your achievements 5 years ago: They want to know your current achievements.
The cover letter is so unbelievably basic, I cannot believe I paid $50 for that piece of garbage on top of this ridiculous resume I'll have rewrite myself.
My writer didn't even ATTEMPT to fix the issues I brought up on my resume. They ran it to two pages but then left 3/4 of the 2nd page blank when it could have been filled in WITH MY EXPERIENCE!
Save your money for a real resume writer who will work with you personally or learn how to write one yourself because this is a waste of money and a total garbage service.
Right to the point: what I got was a rough draft with misspellings and needed changes. What I got for an end product was just the same rough draft. Right now I can ill afford to spend money on something like this junk. I warn anybody reading this that is is a scam and run away from these people!
I have been experiencing similar problems as others have written. I paid for an Academic CV and Cover Letter to apply for PhD positions and received a product that makes me sound like I just got out of high school. Many grammatical and spelling errors; "I have done researches on multiple topic"... that'll get me considered for academia.
After the initial draft, I replied within 24 hours. Most of my page long email was to correct their errors and try to explain that I needed my CV to sound more professional and relatable to my field. They came back with a bunch of nonsense as to why I was wrong for requesting that. Two days later (Friday), I received an email 10pm to say my second draft would be ready in 24 hours. I got it Monday morning, and it just so happened to be the last day for any edits!
Customer service has told me that they will do it again, or get another writer but no refunds are possible. To add to it, they've pointed the finger at me saying, "Our resume writing process is collaborative in terms of being able to provide the writer with feedback on all drafts, you have only provided your writer with feedback once."
I agree with everyone, this is a total sham and loss of $250 for me. Stay away.

I really do not understand why a certain amount of words are required for this review. I believe I left a positive and satisfactory review in the first sentence. Yet it required 50 more words.

Answer: It depends, if you want to pay for a mediocre format riddled with errors that has the language equivalent of a high-schooler. You will end up paying $100 for something you could have sat down and done in an hour and a half.

Answer: Be careful with this company. They post 1000s of fake reviews to hide the real ones. Note that they do not post their phone number or address on the website. I had to file with the BBB to get a refund after never being contacted. This is a SCAM company - you are better off writing your own resume, trust me on this

I've been assigned 3 different writers and have received a subpar product back each time, written by someone who's first language is clearly not English. The best part, I paid $100+ for a "LinkedIn Rewrite" and this was where the writer copied and pasted their version of my resume into the boxes for LinkedIn. You've got to be kidding me... Don't waste your money!
Answer: I am on month two and still have not received a finalized document. Currently, I've gone through 3 different writers and still do not have a usable document. My original resume, cover letter and LinkedIn are far better products than what I've received from TopResume. If you are thinking of using this service, please PASS. Answer: Don't waste your money. All of these "reviews" are probably fake. I actually paid them $189 and never even got a usable resume. Find a better company. These guys are crooks!
