I recently used Trademark Engine service to apply for a Trademark.
They made a mistake on my name (owner's name), i reached out to them on the phone and they were not willing to help me, just asked for extra money because they said they made no mistake, i did the error in their opinion.
I definitely wouldn't be able to call myself 1985, it's not a misspelling error, they assigned me another name and wanted to charge me extra to fix it.
Can you please me let me know how to report them?
Also the website is very misleading!
Don't waste your time and money with thieves!
I did a search on their site for a name, then purchased the basic TM for 69.00 They double charged me. Then I research and the name is taken by someone else. OK SO I wanted a refund, emailed and called them to cancel the whole order no reply. 2 days later I get another charge for 275.00. WTF! I am disputing charges. AND CANCLED MY C. C.
Uspto changed the rules in view of this, they could not register a trademark for me, they also did not return the money I do not recommend contacting them because they took the money and did not perform the service
Yes, this company WAS very helpful... They researched my trademake, told me there were no matches, they submitted my trademark and took additional funds to monitor however, I only found out it had been declined from an ambulance Chaser trademark attorney trying to get my business to look into 2 "issues"... 1, my trademark was supposedly "similar" to one that was submitted before mine and 2, it had the color blue in it? OK WHAT? The color BLUE? REALLY?
I called the company, stayed on hold until a recording came on that said they would call me back... NO CALL! I went through their chat and got 2 what appeared to be generic bot responses... not going over it with me AT ALL, just said I could go look myself? WTH did I pay these people for?
A couple of days later and STILL NO ONE has called me back from this company! Buyer BEWARE!
They tease you with the $49 filing fee only to upsell you. By the time you add up all the charges it comes to over $600 for what you can do yourself directly through the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) for $350. The process is a little bit more tedious but worth doing yourself. Then TME slaps you with a $199/yr monitoring subscription I did not agree to! Called to cancel that and get a refund to be told had I called yesterday they could have processed the refund. That's total BS. Called my credit card company and put the charge in dispute. I get a cancellation email but no indication they are refunding the $. Stay away from these scammers and go directly to USPTO to file your patent or trademark.
This company is extremely disorganized and will not spend the money to fix their website. I called in to use my 20% off and really it was not worth it. I should have gone back to legal zoom. I now have to spend more money to change the address as they had the wrong address on their files. I will make the address change and pray the documentation actually makes it to where it is supposed to go. DONT USE THIS COMPANY they can't even fix their website and have to do everything manually. I called to speak to the manager and he refused to get on the phone with me but had 10 minutes to speak to the customer service person about why he was no going to get on the phone.
My application did not get approved because of how I answered the questions with the application. They gave me no legal advice on how to answer these questions so the application would be approved. When I paid an extra $150 to them to help me correct the mistake they told me they couldn't help me and I had to higher an attorney. I thought they were attorneys? I'm going with an attorney now. Considering how simple my trademark is I'm surprised how difficult and expensive this process is and how little help they have offered.
*UPDATE: I emailed their support staff asking for a refund on the extra $150, which they gave me and apologized for not being able to help. At this point I've had to purchase a trademark lawyer to help me with the application.
I spent plenty so that this site would handle my trademark. I wind up with a zillion spam emails from all over the place, and after almost a year, learn that some government bureaucrat has nixed my application for all sorts of reasons. How helpful has trademarkengine been throughout this frustrating process? Not at all! I'm supposed to deal with a tangle of legalese myself -- What a waste of money!
Tried to contact this company re: a bill they sent for the service that's been cancelled months ago because our order wasn't process. We've been refunded that time (months ago) but lost $200+ for the cancellation (was told they could not refund it), now they're sending a bill of $1000+ for what? We've been on hold for 30 minutes and asked for call back but no answer. Several emails stating to call for cancellation. FYI this has been cancelled months ago, please review the file and communications. Please beware!
I signed up and registered my trademark. They billed me for $49 as agreed to in the offer. On the offer page it stated that it was the service fee of $49 PLUS the USPTO fees. I happen to know that the USPTO fee is $250. A few days after I submitted the application, they charged my card $350 ($100 more than the actual fee). I called to inquire and they said that the extra $100 they retain... This is dishonest. I encourage you to read through their offer page. No where in this offer does it state the additional $100 they STEAL from people who are not familiar with the process and the fees. I will be reporting this company to all the relevant authorities. This ad should not be eligible for advertising as they are scamming people and stealing their money.
Answer: For my first Trademark, I was recommended to use Trademark Engine. That was a big mistake. The site doesn't do any extra work. YOU essentially are entering the EXACT fields that are required on the actual USPTO website and then they simply copy and paste all the fields on the USPTO website for you. I am NOT kidding - you can literally go and check both sites. You are paying $99 to Trademark Engine for just doing this. Oh and BTW, their nonsense about 'Researching to see if the TM is taken" is literally a 5 second job on the USPTO website. You just need to enter the Trademark term that you want in the search box (TEAS) and see if it has been taken. They make it sound like it is something massive. Besides this, they actually had the nerve to over-charge me. So they charged their fee and they charged me $275 to file with the USPTO (the USPTO filing fee). It was only later, when the USPTO sent me the email confirmation, did I realize that the actual cost was only $225 - so they happily charged me $50 extra. These people are scam artists and they refuse to talk to me about this or answer emails. I have filed a dispute now with my card (who told me that they will get the refund soon). Stay away from this company and file yourself.
Answer: They keep charging you for a subscription you do not sign up for.
Answer: My first dream business has turned into a nightmare. It feels like someone else is just making money off of whoever enters that hook without actually helping business owners who are looking to create a unique brand. The trademark registration process is misleading, and it seems like they are taking advantage of people. Many people don't understand how the process works and end up paying a lot without any guarantee of approval. I am one of the people who now need to cancel the whole position, and it is bitter business now.
Answer: No, i got scammed here. This whole operation is a scam.
