I booked a hotel on Traveluro for a cheaper rate. I later found this review and was worried about the legitemacy of the service. In the end, all worked out as expected, so it's not all bad.
SCAM SCAM. Went to hotel on the day and traveluro hadn't sent our booking to the hotel at all. Called customer service with international number with huge roaming cost and was told it would be rectified. Called again & Was told twice that an agent would call me back but no result. Stuck at hotel for last 3 hours waiting for their response. Not sure if I book another hotel in higher price now and have to follow them up for refund. Better to avoid them.
I booked a leisurely trip to Pismo Beach CA, which is located in Central CA., over a month ago. I purchased a non-refundable room, because I live in California, where our winters normally are mild. However this past January we have been hit extremely hard with unusual bad weather including flooding, and high winds. Because I didn't want to jeopardize myself or my mother on our safety, I sent an email to Traveluro requesting a cancellation because of the severe weather and indicated in the email that severity of the cancellation. The customer service representative wrote back to me the following day, indicating that I did not request a cancellation request within a timely matter, ( two weeks prior to my arrival) and therefore I was not entitled to a refund. Mind you, the state of CA is now under a State of Emergency! Furthermore, the customer service representative didn't note the correct name of the hotel I was booked with, which tells me that she didn't even read my email. It is apparent that Traveluro could give a crap on the safety of their customers. Lastly, I attached a photo of Traveluro's cancellation policy, pertaining to unsafe weather conditions,…obviously they do not adhere to.

I called to get a refund on our hotel room a week prior to our stay due to the event being cancelled. They told me they would have to submit it to their escalation team and that I would hear back in 24-48 hrs. No response. I email them again...no response. I call them - select the refund department and the phone just rings and rings. I call back and select the booking department and they answer immediately. Give me the same run around. I'm told someone will call me today...instead I get an email telling me they they could not refund my room and gave me a list of to-dos that I would need to fulfill to possibly get it refunded. I called the hotel and they said it would be fine if they refunded my room. They are blaming the hotel, however it is Traveluro that has my money and the power to refund it. Traveluro put zero effort into refunding my room. I do not believe a word they said. They are greedy, scam artists at best. Apparently they need the money more than my Family of 5. I will NEVER book through them again. Shame on YOU, Traveluro.

I was on hold at Customer Service *******798 for a half hour, TWICE, no one picks up. Try to log on at Traveluro's website, your account will not be recognized. Neither the "Change" nor the "Cancel" your reservation button WORKS. THEY'RE IMPOSSIBLE TO REACH! Their cancellation verbiage says BEFORE the particular cut-off date is refundable. AFTER the cut-off date is non-refundable. Leaving... the cut-off date itself? Whcih I guess might be negotiable? IF only you could REACH THEM? WHICH YOU CAN'T! Needless to say, I will never use them again.

I booked a room at Fort Pontchartrain in Detroit through Traveluro back on December 22nd 2021 for July 18th 2022 for $143.00. When I arrived at the hotel they had no reservation for me. I ended up having to pay the hotel $321.35 to get a room. So I ended up paying $464.35 for a room that was suppose to be $143.00. I have been going back and forth with them and the hotel trying to get reimbursed for over a month now. Traveluro never paid the hotel so the hotel can't help me. I finally had to file a complaint with my credit card company with the advice of the hotel to get it resolved. The Account Manager at the hotel said they have had other complaints about this company. DO NOT use Traveluro / Splitty.

Sharing this review as a real person who booked an expensive reservation and then panicked after reading reviews. This is a legit booking service and I had no issues. Just wanted to put that out there for those of you who have the same panic after booking - and then looking at reviews.
A couple months ago I was planning a trip and found a $500 lower cost for a resort in Jamaica on Traveluro - compared to other options. I found the deal through Trivago. I had never heard of Traveluro but I went ahead and booked it. It never even occurred to me that anything recommended by Trivago could be a scam. I just assumed it was legit. After I spent $5,000 on this hotel - which is a major all-inclusive vacation chain, I didn't think about it again until two days before my trip. A couple days before my trip as I was getting prepared, I logged into the Traveluro website to get the info on my reservation. And it listed that I had no reservations. Then I got a vague text about 36 hours before my trip that said the hotel was confirmed and paid for and they provided a confirmation number that was listed s 0. It was feeling somewhat shady. So I googled the company. And oh buy the reviews are really concerning. I started to panic that I was going to arrive in Jamaica to no hotel - and lose the $5,000 they already charged me. So I called the resort directly to confirm my reservation. They had my reservation in their system. Turns out it was all legit. No issues. Thank goodness.

The hotel booked was not the one advertised. When I told the receptionist I booked through Traveluro they laughed in my face. This is a joke of a company. Take your money somewhere else.

Made reservation on TRAVELURO website on March 23,2023 for 4 night stay at Crowne Plaza Santo Domingo, An Ihg Hotel. When putting the confirmation number provided by TRAVELURO in IHG app it's not recognized. I contacted both IHG and Crowne Plaza Santo Domingo on March 24th and was advised no reservation. I contacted TRAVELURO and was advised that it can take them sometime to book the room. This is concerning as the hotel could possibly be oversold or sold out and now TRAVELURO has taken my money and not provided me with guarantee room. I've contacted TRAVELURO multiple times and have not received my confirmation. Filling a report with the attorney general office.

My husband ACCIDENTALLY booked the wrong date for a ball tournament and they refused to change date or give refund bc it was one day after the cut off date. The said they would look into it but after a month of communication back and forth, they said they can't refund bc it's past the cut off date. So the hotel didn't get the money, we didn't get the money back but Traveluro gets my money for doing NOTHING! They do not take any considerations so be careful if you book through them.
Tip for consumers:
Be sure you watch the cancellation date and don’t need to make any changes after it bc they will not help you.

Horrible and stressful experience until CINDY AVENION successfully resolved my issue. Spent over 3 hours on the phone, one agent hung up on me, lost connection over 4 times after 10-15 minutes on hold, email exchanges were very robotic, "non amendable, non refundable" and had to insist to talk to supervisor several times…Although my request was granted, it wasn't worth the extra savings. I only received confirmation the morning of my departure leaving me limited time to book elsewhere at a much higher cost.
This agency would be more profitable if their "non amendable/non refundable" policies were abolished and more agents had common sense like
CINDY AVENION!
Tip for consumers:
Shame on the owners for focusing solely on their profits and not valuing their customers. They’re the losers as they would make more profits by getting rid of their non amendable/refundable policy.

I do not know where to even start. The most horrendous, scammy, deceptive travel booking site of all sites. The company is based out of Israel and the customer service is awful. I booked a stay at the ritz Carlton through traveluro 2 months prior to the actual stay and on the day that I was suppose to check in I called the hotel and they told me that my reservation was CANCELLED. I called traveluro and they advised me that it's not cancelled on their end despite me telling them that two different reps from the hotel telling me so. I told traveluro to refund my money or modify my reservation and they advised me that they will not do it. They later sent me an email that my reservation is confirmed with a booking number. I called the hotel back to confirm and they informed that my reservation was cancelled TWICE. I called traveluro and they continued to go back and forth with me and stated they they will not cancel my reservation. I told them that it has already been cancelled and to simply refund me my money. They ignored my request and now I'm disputing with my bank. Such an awful deceptive travel site. Do not waste your time and money booking with them.

Pre-paid weeks in advance (***7332) for Times Square for Broadway: got E-mail confirmation then NO notice my hotel was switched. I arrived to CLOSED HOTEL! Thought I got SCAMMED as it took 1-hour to get Traveluro on phone: was relocated another 12-blocks away. I called Traveluro back (M*****) saying this location was UN-acceptable because now I have to walk 15-blocks at 11-pm as I was concerned about the subway that hour. I also said because of location, the hotel's own posted nightly price was $50 cheaper: I was staying 8-nights. I was told to give 2-3 mos for response.
POOR COMMUNICATION again: after nearly 6-mos, I called Traveluro back and supervisor (G****) wanted ME to call the hotel for the $400 credit when Traveluro should/could have called 6-mos ago, and provide Traveluro with hotel's confirmation for the credit! I reminded this "supervisor" that my business is with Traveluro directly. After all this time, my reasonable request was DENIED

They booked us into the wrong hotel at 3 times the regular rate for a room at that hotel. Run for your life; don't book with them. They Pocketed about $400 by charging me $600 for a $200 hotel room.

This outfit is dangerous. They charged me for hotel fees that could only be collected by the hotel, making me pay twice. Then they refused to refund the money they improperly collected. I believe this is fraud, and have initiated an investigation. It ruined days of our vacation, and the lingering trouble of going through the courts is miserable. TRAVELURO IS NOT TRUSTWORTHY OR RELIABLE. YOU WILL BE SCAMMED
