Switched my truck 1 hour before pickup and wanted me to drive 25 or 45 out of my way to pick up a smaller truck. Booked just over 1 month in advance. Completely useless service.
I understand hold music... but yours makes me want rip my ears off of my head. I don't mind the lady speaking. It's the background sound that is just horrible.
NOT WORTH 1 STAR Beware truck we rented was badly damaged on top of it had a gas leak only got one load to my new home and had to take it back called u haul and was going to refund my 210.00 I prepaid for and didn't now I have half my belongings in my new home and half at my old home and they are still letting people renting the vehicle what a horrible company and you can only drive 40 miles per hour because it shakes so bad shame on you u haul and a prepayment was made we even just asked as well for a safe truck to get the rest of are belongings safe to are new home and they wouldn't do that as well
Moving mother in law we reserved a truck and vehicle trailer and the day before we were to pick up said reservation I get a call stating that the trailer that has been reserved is no longer available and that the closest trailer is an hour and half away and that I would need to go pick it up which my response was no we reserved it at our closest uhaul facility and that they should bring it there which they refused so I cancelled the trailer. We were also told that with the truck reservation that we would get a one month storage unit. We werent told that we had to be put on a list. This is unnacceptable customer service as now my mother inlaw has to shell more money to get a storage unit (no not a uhaul facility anymore)
U Haul is an absolute joke‼A family member of ours is moving from Sask to Alberta he booked a 6X12 trailer and PAID for it, the day we go to pick it up. They no longer have that trailer in their possession. Called U Hauls 1-800 number they double booked the trailer without telling us and all they could do was give us a MUCH smaller trailer which by the way doesn't fit everything we have! I DO NOT recommend renting from U-Haul‼‼

Sends me to another place every time you go to a new place you have to go on there website and put all the info in again finally after driving all over at Pete we finally get a u haul at 3:30 pm not to mention the numerous phone calls and was in the phone at least 3 hours. I would never use them again. However the drop off in Inverness was very easy and quick yay way to go Inverness. I can't even rate them a zero there that bad I also put in a complaint and was told some one will get back to me in 24 to 48 hours nope not at all then spoke to another person and she told me 5 to 7 business days what are

Dont use this business, they over charge for truck rentals and have outrageous hidden fees. I rented a $20 truck for local pickup of furniture and was charged over $200!
Rented a 6x12 trailer, did the online check-in and paid immediately. The night before pick up, U-Haul sent me an "update", telling me happy birthday, we have a 5x8 trailer ready for me.
I had to cancel this reservation on the phone because a cancellation option did not exist on their website. Then I had to book again but was only able to find a 6x12 trailer 250km away from me. It took me 6 hours to pick it up and cost me 100 bucks extra on gas.
Of course, U-Haul will not reimburse me for that.
Now, 2 weeks later, I need a 6x12 again, and I asked customer service to guarantee that I will not be punked again. But U-Haul does not have any internal communication. Their customer service asked me to call some local agent instead of taking care of my concern.
U-Haul is a dinosaur. Their customer support and their equipment is middle age. Their trailers don't even have a jack wheel. Impossible to unhook it when it is loaded or even when it is empty for a smaller person or woman.
They step me up as a service center and then didn't give us the proper login and it took months of people calling trying to book but guess what, we couldn't log in.
This company stays in business from one & dones. Awful-lies, not just a little nothing they say is the truth. Wild goose chase for trailer. We wasted a ton of money and time
Pick up says $20/day. NOT TRUE. Had the truck for 48 hours and it just cost me $100! I drove less than 50 miles. That's disgusting. Talk about hidden fees and lies. Never again uhaul, you're a scam!
Once again Uhaul proves what a $#*!ty company they are. I made a booking thee weeks ago, checked on it several times. Recieved confirmation and a text Today. Spent an hour standing at the desk and WHAT you don't have my trailer! You want me to drive 2 HOURS TO ANOTHER TOWN. I live in Edmonton an now I have to drive to Wetaskewin. You are messing with people's lives for gods sake. You think this is acceptable business practice. Oh they kindly offered us the 50.00 guarantee WTF. It will cost a lot more than that for the gas and time lost. You SUCK. And it costs them nothing... they chargeback the 50.00 to the last guy who rented.

I reserved a truck online and paid in full. I then logged back in to add additional drivers but could not find out how to do it. So I called UHAL customer service to get assistance. I was informed that I did NOT have a confirmed truck and location that was why I couldn't add a driver. I informed them that I specified all that when I reserved and paid for the truck. I was then told that I would be contacted by a representative about 2 weeks from my date if and when a truck would be available. I have given months in advance so this is very frustrating to think that I may not have way to move my family. I have called other rental truck places and found better rates and guaranteed trucks. I thought UHAL was a more established proffesional company then this. I will NOT be using them for anything or recommending them either. V/r James Beaty

Ordered a 15' truck from BC to red deer ab for 13 th September.
Received a mail yesterday requesting if I could tow a trailer for them and u haul would pay me $250 for it.
This morning I got a call from Simran Kaur@ there distribution centre advising that I had to collect the truck in summer land. I asked if she was joking as it was a 4 hour 35 min drive from my location.
Her reply was take it or leave it as there is nothing available. I requested to her is there were any bigger (or smaller) or trailers available in Vancouver.
Her reply was there is nothing and if I was not satisfied to cancel the order.
SIMRAN KAUR SHOULD NOT BE WORKING IN ANY CUSTOMER RELATED POSITION AS SHE IS TOTALLY UNEDUCATED AND CANNOT SPEAK TO PEOPLE.
As for Uhaul this I is the second time this has happened.
Last round we ordered 2 x super movers for $1200 and on date was charged $3800.

Uhaul is degrading from 10 to 0. Moving to another city, the agent made an appointment for pick-up, the next day when I called only to know the pick-up location and time were totally different from what she told me! And she even did not inform me of the change! I had to change my moving date--imagine all the pain and mess I had to suffer to make this big change! I spent 4 hours on the phone to modify this reservation eventually reached to a manager because the online system did not allow me to modify and no available spots online but I had to move the next day!
The pain was finished yet. When I went to pick up, the staff told me it's not available. Then what's the point of making reservation?! He kept on telling me my old reservation was at another time another location, but I came here for the current new reservation, the old one did not count anymore! Such a pain with such an idiot! He asked me to wait until I got mad on the phone and wanted to complain, he said something's available now. Seriously? Why not available at my reservation time and I had to wait and got mad so to get him to work on that?
Long distance driving is very expensive with Uhaul. I was told there's a flat rate when I made reservation, but when I was billed by kilometres was told there's no flat rate! What horrible and stupid staff Uhaul hires.
It's bloody panic experience with Uhaul. Very low quality service, extremely messy, super low quality staff. Avoid it, save your heart attack, plan your move earlier, borrow vehicles from friends, or rent from other business—now there are many and cheaper!
Rented from U-Haul fully recognizing I might have to get my rental from an alternate location. Responding to a text I checked in and was informed that would be the case. The problem is I rented both a truck and a car dolly but they were going to be in two separate locations. The associate informed me that they didn't have people who moved vehicles working for U-Haul and it wasn't in their job description so nobody was going to bring both pieces to one location. I was transferred to a supervisor who said it wasn't the company Didn't commit to having the truck where I had rented which we both agreed to. When she read the policy There is nowhere that it references locations (plural). Rather than try to meet my expectations she asked if I just wanted to cancel the reservation. No idea how global corporation Doesn't have a process for moving a vehicle a couple of miles down the road and why they wouldn't care about customer experience. Further I happen to be passing by one of the locations yesterday and they had multiple trucks and car dollies at one location so very confusing
My family and I have used U-Haul for our moving services many times over the years and it was easy and convenient. That was not the case this most recent time I reserved a one-way truck. I made the reservation six weeks in advance and specified a location that was in close to proximity to my residence. I received a call the day before and was told the truck was in a town about a 3 hour drive away. The scheduling person was very cold from the moment we connected and this was before she gave me the news of the location.
I was bounced around to many people and was finally told that their one-way fleet doesn't have any sort of service to bring trucks to locations and the website noted one would get a call two days before and I was given a call a day before. The site also makes note they will try to find a location near the one requested, but it could be a location further away (such as 30 to 40 miles I believe), but not close to 150 miles away.
Be very wary of any one-way rentals with this company. I was able to reach another company and the individual I spoke with was so very kind and helpful. In addition, this other company offers unlimited mileage with their trucks.
If I could have given a half or less of a star I would have and I'm so sad to say my U-Haul days are over.
First off, the wait to talk to someone is horrendous. But then when you get to talk to someone and they tell you lies…very upsetting. I was told "no charge" when I called to extend a few hours… only to bring the equipment back and get charged full price. I called to report the situation only to be told that she made no notations to that…so I told them to pull the call. They claimed they did and that she said "it never populated a charge but it could when I returned the equipment, but this has happened before and it didn't charge so there shouldn't be one when you turn it in." The supervisor said that she told me of a possible charge so they couldn't do anything. I said I would have kept it the full time if I had known that. They don't and didn't care. Money if tight for everyone and I feel they didnt do me right. I won't use Uhaul again.

Answer: From my experience I've noticed uhaul only allows you to review the pickup and dropped location and generally where I am at least, those folks are great and helpful. The huge conglomerate running the show is at fault but there seems to be no way to easily review them specifically. They screwed me too and I wondered the same. Maybe some folks had a positive experience but I believe you are correct. Negative reviews are definitely being screened out. Sorry you had a crappy move too.
Answer: I did a complaint online and then called but with the same result, they couldn't find me in their system. I need to wait 24 to 72 hours for the manager to investigate.
