CEX is by far one of the worst companies i have ever purchased a product from. Amongst the awful customer service team, there is also the awful staff in stores. I bought an iphone 6s from them and was promised a warranty that COVERED accidental damage. To my distain the screen starts to bend and come away from the display on the mobile phone as they sold me a phone with non "Apple genuine" parts. They fobbed me off and told me the screen was coming away because i DROPPED IT. So not only did they deal with my complaint with the worst care ever, they also accused me of dropping my phone, i am very good with phones so knew this wasnt a fault of my own. I then went to apple and they gave me a report that sated that next to none of the parts in my IPHONE were real iphone parts. This means i was lied to about my warranty and i was sold false products. They make you pay full price for a second hand BRANDED product that next to no real parts in it. They treated me like dirt and the staff in the store were rude and lied to my face as well as multiple people i asked to go in and question. They really need to train staff on customer service and what their policies are because i don't even think they know themselves.
IF I could give no stars I would! Do not I repeat do not order online from this company! I have no choice but to keep ordering until I get a right item as I have a voucher I have to use. I have emailed the managing director directly it's so appalling and I have had no help for the 3rd time I have had to place an order to get a correct item that works! 1st one cancelled, fair enough, 2nd GoPro wrong one, 3rd one A grade faulty and missing a vital part on camera And so back to local store again for refund! 4th told by online service to order again and they would help to ensure what is being sent is correct etc and guess what? Nope they didn't aNd have dispatched it anywAy! I have lost money in car parks and petrol and time wasted and I have a special needs son who came with me and it upsets him to queue and have to wait for them to check an item I just received in the post by them! I then had to get family help to have my son as he was upset and didn't want to go! I have no doubt I will be there again to refund my 4th order as it hasn't been checked! I paid more for an A grade to ensure this didn't happen but there was no point! No response to messages or emails in time either. No phone number and now I see why! Help my latest order number is ******* but I should all too late! Have had it now and wish I never bothered as it's stressing me out now!
I had this phone 4 months then the charging port broke. I got told it had a speck of dust in it and it was my fault. They told me to go elsewhere to get it repaired. Second Cex told me I had dropped it so therefore ii invalidated the warantee and they didn't want to know. THE WARANTEE ISNT WORTH THE PAPER ITS WRITTEN ON. Go somewhere else
Recently I purchased a 7200RPM 500GB SATAII Hard Drive from the CeX online store. The checkout went smoothly, and my order was despatched the next day.
When the item arrived, to my delight the packaging was exceptional! A (folded over) jiffy bag, followed by two layers of bubble wrap and two paper bags would ensure that any hard drive would survive the punishment of Royal Mail.
When the hard drive was revealed, I was astounded to find out that it was a Segate hard drive (In my opinion the best brand). But, on inspection, I found out that this particular hard drive had only an RPM of 5900 (As it was an energy saving model) I let this slide, because of the cheap price and hooked it up to my PC. No bad sectors, and it was a VERY quick drive in benchmarks.
All in all, a brilliant experience. Just a shame it wasn't what was advertised on the website.
I went through website selling half my DVD collection (keeping my favourites). I don't use them and thought why have them cluttering the place up. The site is easy to use.
I chose to receive payment via voucher as I had in mind to purchase 2 Google Chromecasts from them with the proceeds of the DVDs.
I packed up and posted them on the Tuesday (sent them via Collect and Plus) and received the voucher Sunday evening. I received emails letting me know they'd received the DVDs and when they had finished testing them. I also had prompt replies to a couple of questions I had regarding the transaction.
I purchased 2 x C ratings' of Google Chromecast, as the previous reviews of C graded items were good. I wasn't disappointed.
I think 1 product came with original cables and neither had original packaging, which didn't bother me in the slightest. Other than that, they're in mint condition and work brilliantly.
I can now use my TV more than my laptop or phone, as I can now "cast" everything to the TV.
UPDATE: I've been that impressed, that I've now packaged up all my remaining DVDs and sent them off too. I'm embracing the digital world. Now that I have Chromecasts, DVDs really aren't needed.
I was very impatient with them, yet they were professional, polite and patient with me over a query I had. I really can't fault them.
I was going to sell a camera to CEX but after seeing all the bad reports about them on here i'll keep my stuff! Thanks sitejabber!
Slowly got worse until the point were they don't Evan book stuff onto the system a few quid off every time you sell something
They agree a price then they try to knock you after testing even if tests come back good, Don't waist your time.
Three times I have tried to get advice about a product, and each time I get directed to irelevant page, poor poor customer services, I for one will shop elsewhere
The local cex Inverness is very terrible usually you are kept waiting in line for up to twenty minutes even if no other customer is being served, today I decided to visit them to do a trade in however I left the store very angry as I was in the line where the signs say to stand but the staff member totally ignored me and took others in front of me despite me making it obvious I was waiting next there was numerous other staff standing gossiping behind doing nothing to help serve eventually another member of staff served me there was absolutely no word of an apology either Sam was the staff member who refused to acknowledge me yet even though he heard me complain about him then to make it worse as I was leaving the store the staff member who served me and the one who ignored me were laughing and taking the mickey out of me yes before I had even left the shop this is disgraceful I have an illness and can do without this unnecessary attitude will never shop with cex Inverness ever again its filthy as well the staff eat take away while serving too be warned if you decide to go in there try elsewhere if you possibly can.
Answer: Go to resolver.co.uk and make a complaint against CeX, they will take it more seriously
Answer: B grade should mean operational but will have visible signs of use, I would avoid and buy on ebay probably get a nearly new one that hasn't been through the hands of muppits
Answer: Unlocked simply tells you whether or not a product is open to all networks or locked to a specific one. For example, if a product states EE/Virgin/3 then it will be locked to that specific network, if however it says unlocked or any network you are able to put any service provider into that product. The A and B seen in the product description is a way pf grading the phone and stating what condition it is considered to be in. A grade is the best grade possible for a phone/table/laptop/camera. This means that it should be immaculate and have all of its original accessories. B grade is considered used and may have some general wear and tear marks, which will not affect the usage pf the product. It may not have its original accessories but will come with anything that is required to allow use the product properly.
