I had a great experience using Uniplaces to book a place for 6 months. Very quick to find the right place - all the info is online. When I arrived the place was exactly as described. Thank you Uniplaces!
Unfortunately, I had to cancel my booking and the room was seamlessly re-let to another student I knew. Nevertheless, Uniplaces insisted on its strict cancellation policy, which meant that I lost the booking fee and the first month's rent (€700 in total) without anything in return. Very unfriendly and unresponsive customer service, out to maximise profit, unfortunately I cannot recommend. In future I can recommend everyone to use idealista.
Uniplace of Porto Portugal, I book for two month, the site is lagging and never working properly, they keep emailing you the same thing and assure you they here to help and they will help and assure you to assist if the place isn't what you want after you report to a issue, they actually don't respond for three days and then ask pictures and videos like you need to make a case and decide to keep all your rent and leave you dry with no money, no place, what kind of booking site does that? My son Christmas gifts in the water because they screw us up.

Unfortunately, however, the arrival was not coordinated by you directly with the accommodation provider, and so the check-in had some issues on that move-in date.
Additionally, please keep in mind that, as communicated, the personal information filled on your booking did not correspond to the reality, which led to an acceptance that would not have happened otherwise.
Despite this fact, the accommodation provider and Uniplaces mediated a viable alternative regarding the dates of your stay, which still allowed you to stay in the bedroom you booked, and which you did not accept.
As such, and because you chose not to fulfil your booking in the listing you booked, the reservation had then to be cancelled whilst applying the offer's cancellation policy.

Uniplaces is a greedy non transparent company. They keep the first rent and every month they charge a fee both to the tenant and the landlord, and they are not very clear about this when you deal with them. As a tenant if you dont like the house, they will not pay you back. As a landlord, if the tenant ruins your house they will not pay for anything.

Stay away from Uniplaces unless you want to overpay and get ripped off, there are many other free classified ad websites where you don't pay a fee.
I booked an apartment in Milan around the beginning of this month. However, the owner changed some renting conditions in Uniplaces page after I had booked! I don't know why they let the owner do it and I think it's really not fair to me and my friend!
I've tried to contact Uniplaces by sending several emails and making a call since yesterday morning, until now there's still no answers even in the mail. The move in date is closer and closer and I still waitng for the solution. I don't want just to contact them only on the day I move because I don't want to take a risk if they were not answer within that 24hrs.
I've booked with Uniplaces 3 years before around this time and I have to say that I used to trust this platform a lot. The responses were much faster and helpful. If you see this review, at least, please give me some answer. I will not make any negotiation with this owner until I hear something from you.

I have had a horrible experience with Uniplaces. The photos exposed in the website are not as reality. Once I get in the apartment I wanted to cancel it. I did it before the 24 hours and now Uniplaces don't want to give me my money back. That completely sucks. Besides, it is expressed in the website that I can always have help to get another and it is being exactly the opposite! They keep insisting in not refund me. What is worst, I even speak with the landlord. He agrees with me, is not as in the pictures and he thinks I have the right to change my mind. And Uniplaces says the owner does not want to cancel the reservation! They do everything to keep the money!
I went on Erasmus last year, and loved the experience. I was afraid that something could go wrong, but uniplaces made me feel safe about my reservations and the landlord. I arrived and the landlord was very nice and the house was exactly how it was in the photographs.
Uniplaces contacted to know if everything was ok. I seriously recommend Uniplaces if you need to book a house in another country and need to trust that the house is exactly what is advertised. If I study abroad again, I'll defiantly use Uniplaces again.

Do not book with uniplaces! Since they do not verify the property advertised nor do they verify the landlord! The apartment we rented in Porto was a scam! And it was so tiny that it was not even half of the floor area shown in uniplaces. On top of this, the lady who showed us the apartment has not yet returned the deposit. We had vacated the property in May. She's been dodging our emails and calls and now she's finally stopped responding. Advise you not to book on uniplaces to save yourselves from this agony!

The room I rented was absolutely horrifying. I've never seen such a mess. Everything smelled horrible, and there was fungus on literally every piece of cutlery. The landlady put out her sigarets on random places in the house. I had no privacy at all and didn't feel safe. And uniplaces listed it as 'visited', that was obviously a lie. No one in their right mind would stay there.
When i contacted Uniplaces about it, they simply told me the nonsense story that they were sorry but couldn't help.
Worst company ever, I've personally contacted others who used uniplaces and we're going to start a broad informing campain for Erasmus student at my home university to warn them for Uniplaces and their dirty business.

This is an online platform for international students like me to book and pay for rooms in London directly. It was easy to search for properties around my uni, the payment was secure and I am currently living in the room i paid for. The pictures of the property were a very true and real representation of the room. Terrible experience! DON'T USE THIS PLATFORM! We booked a room that was supposed to be in Madrid, and it turned out to be an hour away from Madrid. They are pirates. Stay away from this company!
I paid for a reservation that I had to change for reasons of force majeure. I discussed the change with the owner and she had no problems with this. After the change we had to cancel the trip and Uniplaces does not want to return the money as a deposit to the owner or me. They want to keep the 1600 euros that I paid without giving me anything as a refund, not even to the owner of the apartment that we wanted to rent.

We ukrainians, we were forced to relocate in another country... I booked studio in Paris, before that Uniplace's help answered very quickly. Than landlord said me I should sent deposit BEFORE move-in date on MoneyGram to ANOTHER NAME and these transfers are not protected in any way. If I don't do this - I can cancel booking. Uniplaces don't answer me, I want my money back (700 euros). Today 30 of July, rent will be start 1 August, so now money in Uniplaces bill and they should return it to me... Booked ID *******

I booked a room that looked nothing like the pictures. The walls were mouldy, the door was broken, the floor was cracked and the kitchen was not as described.I reported the problem to the site within 24 hours of arrival, with pictures to prove it, and the owner admitted the faults but they were not fixed. I didn't stay in a place that was harmful to my health, but I still didn't get my money back. The costumer servise is not helpfull at all they never want to give you compensation.
I had a problem with the landlord because she decided not to give my deposit money because she used it all~ in her hosipital money. When I requested my money again she said that I used too much gas water blah blah which were all included in the monthly payment but she said she will not give me the money because I used too much haha I had to come back to my country and I sent the Uniplace about this problem. They were so unhelpful. They contacted me by phone but their attitude were like believing all the things that landlord said about me and saying that it was me who was unacceptable in behaviour. How about stop doing the business if you guys are going to work like that. Such a bad service. I will never use it again and I will keep on giving bad reviews to everyone.

My son found a room beginning of may on Uniplaces but the room was not free. The owner, Anna Piccini, offered another room in a family where he could stay. All this without problems. After he went out end of july 15, we are still waiting for the deposit! He never was in the first hired room, so he made no dammages. Nevertheless Anna doens't want to pay back the whole deposit! Yesterday, after 3 months asking, we recieved only half of it.
I booked my room in Uniplaces and all went great! As soon as I started to search for a house in Madrid I had the support of one of the agents and they made my life so much easier They replied to all the questions I had and contacted the landlord for me on the ones I had for him. The whole process was really smooth and I definitely do it again if I need to go abroad.

Uniplaces is not a trustworthy site. They have insensitive people who does not care about the money of their customers.
I took a temporary accommodation in Barcelona for one month, so that i can search for my permanent accommodation easily. I booked one room from uniplaces 25 days before shifting, to avoid last minute problems. They charged me completely for the Booking. Now when I was about to leave my previous accommodation, just one week to go, they called me and said that my booking is cancelled, Find a new accommodation, and we will completely refund your money (including our service fee). This was the first thing i wanted to avoid, so that I am not running here and there at the last minute, but the same situation happened because of them. The mail said that it takes from 5-10 days to refund your money. I told them that i require the refund urgently, as I am a student here, I do not have extra funds. I can only book a new accommodation, when I have that amount. It has been over 2 weeks now, I have not received my refund. They do not reply by mail as well.
The whole mistake has been from Uniplaces end, but it is me, who gets to suffer at the end.
I suggest that Uniplaces is not worth relying and further recommendation.

Please bear in mind that when Uniplaces has to process a booking cancellation, we do so immediately and automatically process the refund (when it's applicable, like in your case). Due to banks procedures, we inform that it can take up to 10 business days to reach the provided bank account, depending on the customer's bank and country of residence.
However, if the user opens a dispute with their bank entity (as happened in your case), the transaction is frozen by the bank itself. As in our communications, we recommend that you approach this issue directly with your bank, since we have issued your refund but it has been blocked by the opened dispute - and we can’t solve a dispute opened by you directly with your bank.

This site is only for showing and booking the apartment, nothing more. If you have an issue with the landlord they just say we don't have a legal right and they protect the landlord at all times.
Proof of that is that a month ago I did a negative review and they do not upload it (it complies with their rules).
They do NOT worth the money they charge at all.
If it was 20 Euros instead of 300 I wouldn't expect anything from them and they would have positive feedback.

I really warn you from booking through this platform, I had the worst experience of my life because I was scammed by a trusted and verified owner. They only protect the owners and not the tenants. They do not even let you contact the owner before. When the owner accepts you the website takes 90 euros and then makes you in contact. Do NOT USE IT AT ALL!

I was in a hurry to move to Paris, and I thought the website would save me. All it did was stress me out. I had finally found a studio for 1,0090 euros a month even though it was tiny. On the map it said it was within peripheral paris. I checked the street and something didn't match up, so I called Uniplaces and asked them to verify. Yup, the person was advertising this studio in Alfortville, and pretending it was in the 18th arrondissement. I went through various situations like this, until I decided to just air bnb, for super cheap, then the second day in Paris I found a SUPER AMAZING apartment, for only 800 euros a month... in a top neighborhood. Uniplaces is a rip-off. DO NOT USE IT.

They accepted my request even though I didn't want to and I told them I was not able to meet the dates. I had to pay €255,00 for service fees for absolutely nothing. I also have to pay the first month of rent! NO ONE listened to the story and did not care about it. Unreachable. ABSOLUTE SCAM!

Uniplaces is TERRIBLE, I rented a room in Valencia through Uniplaces for 6 months. After 2 months I was told by the landlady I have to move out because she sold the flat. Uniplaces said they can't do anything about it as they don't own the flats, they are just a search engine, yet they charged me a huge commission for booking the flat through them and didn't even want to refund it. Avoid Uniplaces if you don't want to get KICKED OUT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE SEMESTER when it is impossible to find another accommodation.
