I had a great experience using Uniplaces to book a place for 6 months. Very quick to find the right place - all the info is online. When I arrived the place was exactly as described. Thank you Uniplaces!
Unfortunately, I had to cancel my booking and the room was seamlessly re-let to another student I knew. Nevertheless, Uniplaces insisted on its strict cancellation policy, which meant that I lost the booking fee and the first month's rent (€700 in total) without anything in return. Very unfriendly and unresponsive customer service, out to maximise profit, unfortunately I cannot recommend. In future I can recommend everyone to use idealista.
I was rejected by 4 landlords before finding a place that looked good, and they didn't give any reason. And I wanted to assure my period for 10 months. Gross mistake. The landlord and the experience was awful, the place was not like in photos, the landlord didn't allowed me to wash my clothes freely, and lowered the power of hot water when I showered, as a couple of examples. But the worst thing is that there was an old woman screaming every night. As a student, how can you live so? Uniplaces don't care about you, or control the conditions of the landlord or the place.
My sister lost 500 euros! She couldn't make changes to her initial reservation since nobody replied by email. There is No phone available. The phone number of the landlord that came in the reservation was a Scam! Everything wrong with this service. I highly recommend you avoid this website.

I booked my apartment with Uniplaces and the first one doesn't exist. Then I got a new one, a "Uniplaces Exclusive" place, as they name it. Uniplaces say that these are verified apartments. However if they verify apartments with mold, probably alls apartments are $#*! on this website. I contacted them within the 24 hours you have, to check your apartment. But they did nothing. I waited for another two weeks until I moved out. Now I am trying to get my money back, as they advertise it on their website. Though the only thing they offer me is to stay in the apartment with mold and they will reduce the rent by 10. This is disgusting!

There was a booking error, but when I asked them for help there was absolutely 0,0 collaboration from their side. Nothing. I proposed like 5 solutions to get rid of the problem with fair conditions for everyone and they just kept sticking to their absolutely not realistic terms and conditions for cancellations. How am I supposed to cancel 60 days before the contract if the universities send you the confirmation/acceptance letters like 1 week before the classes start? This is a very well-known procedure in bigger student-cities and there can be many inconvenients. Uniplaces is not willing to help their clients AT ALL and only covers the landlord's side. That's not fair and I have no idea how they can charge 150€ service fee for this miserable service and suppose that it doesn't matter for STUDENTS to lose almost 500€ at a time. There's people who have to work a long time to earn that amount of money!

Do NOT reserve a flat if you are not 100000% sure that you want it. because otherwise they will just confirm any of the reservations you made and charge you without even confirming with you if that's the flat you want. So you will have a flat you don't want AND lose lots of money because their cancellation policy is unrealistic

We had a lot of problems with our appartment in Rua Luisa Todi 6 in Lisbon. The 24 safety period does not exist and Uniplaces cant help you at all, plus they are really slow to answer. Be careful with your landlord, and take photos of everything, they want to get as much money of you as possible.

Emailing every single day to the Landlord, reminding them to give back the initial deposit after we left the house 30 days ago, tired to this surreal situation, i told them i would hire a lawyer and sue the landlord. After this day, the landlord gave a lame excuse and return back the money.
I contact again Uniplaces to make a review in their site but they said tha after 30 days, reviews are not allowed. That's it, Uniplace is just a lame service sitting in a pile of golden eggs (real state in Portugal) not giving sh*t to their final customers, only the landlords.
Do not recommend this tool!

"Uniplaces" toke all the precautions to protect the rights of the landlord, while in the other hand, there no policy to protect the tenant.
In my case i booked a room in March 2018 to move-in at September 2018. I have got the confirmation and payed the required money, and i have my reservation cancelled by the landlord only 2 days before moving-in. At this time, at the beginning of a semester, it is absolutely impossible to find a room with good conditions. All what uniplaces has done is an apology and sending some suggestions with insanely high values of money. I have arrived to my destination and i have no where to stay. Uniplaces does not have a policy to protect the tenants or compensate them properly for the time and money they lose from this kind of situations.
My experience with Uniplaces is horrible, they are not reliable or respectful, and i would definately recommend to avoid them in your next reservation.

Uniplaces charged me the whole month as well as the service fee even though i informed them that the appartment was dirty, bathtub didnt work, and there was literally a hole in the wall where a pipe went out, as well as he was arguing until 3 am complaining about me and I heard everything. I wanted to book an appartment in Madrid for the period Jan 18-Feb 18. The appartment was advertised for 550€ per month. On the checkout page, I then was informed that my credit card would be charged with 700€ ( 550+150 service fee).
In the confirmation mail I was then informed that I would additionally have to pay 330€ admin fee and 275 "for February", i. E. the total price for an appartment advertised for 550€ per month became 1300€).
After receiving the conformation email, I immediately cancelled (i. E. within 24h). But Uniplaces informed me that according to their cancellation policy they will keep the 700€.
I have to blame myself that I was not cautious enough, the costs are listed on that page (on a sub-page you have to click via a link below the fold, below the fold of the checkout page,... ie always nicely placed where you don't look for it). Thus legally there is probably little I can do against this.

I had to leave my apartment after six days because it was unsafe (threats from landlord, no electricity, physical violence), and spent a lot of money on airbnbs until I managed to find a new place. I contacted uniplaces and they were very unsympathetic, they clearly didn't care, and didn't get a refund of anything, not the rent, not the deposit, not the €300 service fee I paid to uniplaces to "guarantee my safety at every step" lol what a joke!
Very disappointed of this real estate website. I have booked an appartment in Paris and turned out to be a scam, the appartment never existed. However, Uniplaces has taken the caution and fees for an amount of 845 euros! I have contacted them explaining them the owner fraud and sent them all the proofs including a complaint to the French authorities, but the customer service stopped answering me.
The amount has been taken from my bank account and no answer from them in 2 days.
In case you are wondering if you should use this platform the answer is no! You won't have replies or a refund.

I did a reservation for an apartment for myself and ended up with a Room... ok, my fault here. I told myself "ok, I'll stay with the room".
The demonstrated price was 2k for 80 days... to then, find out that I would have to give a deposit and even pay for the other months. And when I decided to cancel, guess what? You need to have 60 days ahead of the start date to get any refunds, with the exception of their refund... which was an absolute bull$#*! of 750 euros, to do NOTHING.
So I'd still have to pay 2900 bucks to stay those 80 days.
For the same period, I can get by 1300 on airbnb.
I just canceled and accepted the 2k money loss (huge money loss), since they won't reply any attempts of communication. Disgusting service, stay away.

They offer terrible terrible apartments with inaccurate descriptions and incompetent hosts, who lie and not even speak English. They dont care about students, they take sides of the hosts and will steal your money, even if you dont check in to the apartments. I lost 764 euro to a woman who wasnt there the time I was supposed to check in, and told me she was out of town. Then they refused to refund my money. Pleased dont use this site.

At first many of the students come from the abroad and you should not believe in the pictures and bills. It is written "all bills included" in the website but you should not believe in it because something you can not think is that gas needs must be supplied by the gas bottle and you have to pay it. They hide this. There is an Internet connection but it is limited In Winter the house is colder than the outside and there is no way to warm up your room with a heater in the picture because it is working with gas and it is old and dangerous. It is clear that there is no heating system in this separate house. Almost all wall have humid and because of the cold you can not open the windows and you have to suffer from the smell of humid walls. Doesn't follow their own terms and conditions, ignores their users and illegally holds user's money. Argues that you solve the problems with the landlord by yourself, and in reality do not give any guarantees that the apartment will not differ from that indicated. Money does not return, I lost 2 payments
Simply a fraud, website is complicated to find the breakdown of their payment, they took away your money and never ask for you, they charge you and the landlord charge you, In Berlin which is the most depressing place to find a room they use that and apply an overrated prices, and they simply comeback with no refunds.

I booked a room on Uniplace (ID *******) in September 2021.
I paid 843 euros, 650€ corresponding to the first month of rent and 193€ for service fees.
I receive a confirmation email saying you are moving on this date, you will have to pay one month deposit and including the details of my landlord.
Then, I spoke with the landlord on WhatsApp and he asked me to pay him 2 months' rent up-front to get this room and told me that this wasn't negotiable.
I told him that it was not specified in the ad and I would prefer to cancel my booking. He replied to me « There are many things which are not described in the advertising »...
So i contacted the Uniplaces « support » by email and via their website it took sometime for them to reply but at the end they solved my problem.

I would give the site -100 stars if I could. Completely useless service. The apartments are supposed to be booked online, but there are only a few photos available. I booked a place that turned out to have the wrong pictures, etc. After the request was sent on my part, the landlord accepted it and money was automatically transferred to Uniplaces (even though I preferred another place). Turned out the place is already taken as the lanlord said. Now Uniplaces is refusing to return the 1st month rent, because the cancellation was made after the appropriate time, but the place is not available. They are offering that I book another place without a fee. What a joke, stay away.

I booked a flat and when I arrived I got another flat assigned to me with the explanation that mine was not ready. The flat I got was smaller, sold, dirty and $#*!ty. I called Uniplaces to freeze the payment (possible up to 24 hours after you move in). Then the landlord offered me another flat which was also not ready for more than a week. I was lucky, because I had a colleague that took me in his guest room, so I cancelled the payment and I got my money back. But Uniplaces could not offer me any help and without my new colleague I would have stood on the street without a place to stay in a new city without knowing anyone. They have no control over who is advertising a flat and they cannot help you if you are unlucky getting in contact with a scammer. Don't book via Uniplaces!

This company has no interest in helping students or people in finding housing, they are in business strictly to steal from people. I submitted what I thought was an inquiry and they charged me $1400 upon submission. As a long term (7month) renter I needed to know a few questions before committing to the property and they have refused to refund my money, and have basically forced the landlord and I to enter an agreement. There are so many trusted and quality rental services, but this is not one of them. Do not use this "service" unless you wish to be forced into a contract. It's terrible.

I had really bad experience with uniplaces. The customer support is really bad I wrote 3 emails and they didn't reply to any of them. Furthermore, I realised that the room that I booked has a really bad reputation and I asked for a partial refund, but even then no refund was provided for me.
Uniplaces nor the landlord don't deserve any stars. Both are unreliable. I don't recomend anyone to use Uniplaces. Everything is fine when things go smoothly but in case of any trouble they always take the landlords site against the contract.
The landlord doesn't follow the contract at all and only functions with money. He tries to take advantage of you in any way he can if he earns some extra money.
He also blamed me for many things that I didn't do or wasn't correct. And soo many other illegal stuff. Horrible experience!

I can tell you that I just had to pay one time service-fee and the support was amazing. After my registration I received a call from Andriana ( I think it was the name) half hour later to help me find the perfect apartment in Lisbon. And know, here I am.
