Love their huge selection of Vans & Converse. Dig their sweats and the store is always having a sale. What's not to like? I see a lot of unhappy peeps on this. I don't get why they're so angry? If you've got a problem, then just contact them. If it's still leading to no where, contact your credit card bank. If everyone were forced to work in retail, they'll all be a tad more understanding and empathetic. No one's perfect & mistakes do happen. Be more human. Getting back, Urban's totally the place to go if you want trendy styles. Perfect place for me & my gf to go. We just split into our individual sections and meet up in the Home section. Shopping online is super easy too. Love Urban.
The company whose business model is to screw up your order and/or account and be so lazy, indifferent, and/or incompetent so as to do absolutely nothing to rectify anything and literally block customers from ever purchasing again, because they can't be bothered to fix their mistakes. Good, if you're looking to reserve a date in bankruptcy court, I guess. Lol. Shop Free people, Urban Outfitters, & Anthropologie at your own risk. And once their regular abysmal customer service ignores you, you'll be blocked by their corporate level staff if you attempt to contact them. An online shopping nightmare. Ugh.
I ordered a rug from UO. When it arrived it had dark coffee-looking stains all over it, dust, and was faded in random spots. It was absolutely disgusting. I called to return it and get my money back and UO put me through a wild goose chase. They told me I had to repackage it myself (the rug arrived in a flimsy plastic bag that already had tears in it which I had to re-tape), and that UPS would contact me to pick it up and I had only 30 days to get it back to them or they'd recharge me. UPS never called me, and after 4 days I called UO and they said there was no information about my return in their system... great. I gave them my information AGAIN and they told me again UPS would be in contact. Your help desk is either full of lazy liars or plain idiots. I received an email from UO, "Kindly repackage your return using the original packaging. Please ensure the original invoice is included when repackaging your return item. UPS will then attempt to pick up your return item within the next 24-48 business hours. They will not attempt to contact you in advance." So now my item is currently sitting on my front stoop for possibly two days, and "Please note that we are not responsible for lost or stolen packages." Your return policy is a miserable ordeal, and your company sold me a dirty, used product. Thanks for not caring about the customer at all.
Faqin bstards!
Never place the order in this store. They canceled my 3 orders for no reason. Also, one time they sent me a Newborn baby products :D.
Poorly customer service. I hate this store, done.
I placed my order may 17 and it said 5-10 business days for shipping. After 11 business days I still did not have them! I waited another day just in case and ended up calling just to check on everything. When I called the girls costumer service was not very great, she sounded like she didn't want to be there at all and over all just wasn't that helpful. She did however tell me that my package was returned to head office because it was "unable to deliver" and that I would get a FULL refund in 3-5 business days. I ended up only getting money back for the product itself, Not shipping or tax, so now I am down $20 :( the whole experience was pretty whack in my opinion tho, uo sent me an email with a link to track my package (like most places do when u order online) but this website hardly ever gave updates and never gave me a delivery date. It ended up saying it was delivered, even tho I never got it! So that was confusing! I still want this item but I am for sure never ordering online from here again! I'm definitely just going to go to the store!
I PRE-ordered a Champion Hoodie A MONTH in advanced, once it had reached the shipping date I was back-ordered TWO WEEKS LATER, then when that date came around I received nothing in the mail. No explanation was given to me either, I emailed Urban Outfitters, then was back-ordered to TWO MONTHS LATER. Was offered no compensation until asked for ($13 off) and yet, still, have not received my parcel. Would not recommend, very unsatisfied and outraged. For such a big franchise I expect ALOT BETTER.
They are cheaters and canceled my order without any prior information. So i ask for a refund and showed my transaction id and get it back after a week.
Went to the website to order a last minute gift. The details box on the e-gift card site says... Waited until the last minute? We've got your back. UO Gift Cards are always the perfect size, and our E-Gift Cards are sent super-fast! Available in denominations of $25- $1000, E-Gift Cards are sent directly to the recipient's email address. They're instantly redeemable at UrbanOutfitters.com and at our US stores, once they've been printed out.
What they don't tell you is that their "super-fast" is 24 - 48 business hours and they don't process requests on weekends.
When I called Customer Service about the delay, they stated that the policy is listed under shipping but the card isn't being shipped!
If you need something last minute, don't use Urban Outfitters!
Simply fill out the recipient's name, email address and your personalized gift message. Decide on a dollar amount, add it to your Shopping Bag and we'll do the rest!

I had made a $100+ purchase online with Urban Outfitters. My payment method was Paypal. Before I made the order, I changed my address on Paypal to my current one. The old address that I used is 3 hours away from where I currently live, so it is obvious how shipping there can be an issue. When I placed the order with UO, the confirmation email stated that the shipping address would be my OLD one. I emailed customer service twice within minutes after seeing this and then called the customer service office. I spoke with Sydney. She basically said there was nothing she could do and said that the best that she could do is cancel the order. When I asked to cancel it, she then said that she could only cancel one item (the cheaper necklace that I got). So my only option was to deal with the items being shipped 3 hours away? I asked to speak with her manager, and when she got back to me, she said the entire order was cancelled (which she had said was impossible to do) and rudely hung up. I was extremely disappointed that their team just didn't care about the fact that if they didn't change the address or cancel the order, I would literally have to drive 3 hours (6 hours round trip) to pick up my order. Not only that, but Sydney handled the situation rudely.
My daughter ordered a hoodie on November 11th - we didn't receive a shipping notification until the 30th. Today is December 16th, and we still have not received the hoodie. When I go online to track it, it just says "in transit". What exactly does that mean? It could be anywhere. We should have learned our lesson from last year - ordered an item in early November 2016 and it wasn't until mid December that I received an email saying the item was backordered. It was for a Christmas gift. I wouldn't have ordered it had I have known at the time of the order that it would not arrive in time for Christmas. It arrived the beginning of February! Never again - this is a terrible company to order from! One star is too many - I could give them a zero, I would!
Returned two items I had bought online via the Urban Outfitters using Collect Plus. DO NOT RETURN ANYTHING TO URBAN OUTFITTERS BY POST. I sent back two items IN THE SAME PACKAGE but they only claim to have received one. When I complained they emailed me back a scan of a hand-written note which (I supposedly wrote) and which only states one item is being returned. The hand-written note is not in my hand-writing. Which means someone at UO is stealing clothing coming through via postal returns and then falsifying returns notes. BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE
BEWARE EXTREMELY POOR INVENTORY MANAGEMENT
Ordered an expensive product (from a third-party brand that no longer ships to Canada) and was sent the item in the wrong colour, that sucks, but I'm thinking not the biggest deal. I talked to UO customer service to arrange an exchange, they said, "No problem, it will be processed in 1-3 business days" and to expect a confirmation email.
I drove to a physical UO location to return the product.
A whole week later, there was no news on my exchange, so I contacted customer service AGAIN and was told that the item was unavailable and that's why it had been refunded instead. (They had refunded it to my account, but there was no communication that the product was no longer available -- for all I knew the $$ would be taken back out of my account when it was processed.)
There was no concern or explanation offered as if the item was ever actually available - is that why I was sent the wrong colour in the first place? The lady I passed the item off to at the physical location says that the warehouse OFTEN sends people the wrong products.
I'm assuming the item was still in stock when I requested an exchange, otherwise the agent would have notified me then, meaning there should have been a product in my name at that point. To date, the website still lists the item as available even though the new customer service agent told me it was not. I was told "kindly" to "reorder the item once it's back in stock" -- Like I had when I ordered initially? Like I had when I requested an exchange WHILE the item was still in stock? YEAH RIGHT.
Extremely disappointed at this incredibly hassle-filled and unprofessional handling on UO's part.
I have loved Urban Outfitters for a while. Even before I could ever afford it. Especially now when I can't afford it, they have Afterpay. Which has been great for making schedules payments through a biweekly payment plan. Sure, you end up paying the same amount, but it's in increments all while you're still getting fresh paychecks so it doesn't seem like you're spending the full price. Anyways, I have had nothing but positive experiences with this store. Mainly online, but that's just because I prefer to shop online. I have had two instances where the first I was missing and item, and the second I was sent an incorrect item. Both times after I contacted their customer service, I contacted them via email, and they responded quickly. Not only that, but both times they offered to fix the problem. And in both scenarios everything was properly fixed. I understand companies have hiccups and things happen, but I respect a company that has quality customer service to match their incredible selection. I just wanna day I have so much love for this store and company. Thank you for being so great.
On time! It wasn't confusing, also it was straight to the point when it came to billing information. My bed spread got here when they said it would. Love it!
Order a e-voucher on 10th September - debited on my account 15th September - gift voucher ONLY arrives on 23rd September - weeks after the birthday gift it was meant to be.
Can't get a human in customer services so I've wasted hours following up with bank and trying with OU - all in all a woeful experience.
Ordered online and they cancelled my order and took payment! I called them and wanted my order placed and they told me they couldn't help me. Bunch of drips
I have been purchasing from urbanoutfitters.com for years because they offer website exclusive garments from a handful of houses that offer high-design at budget prices. While these relationships between the corporate creatives seem to prosper, the lack of technology and ecommerce leadership exposes an ironic flaw with Urban Outfitters and their reputation that places their finger on the pulse of youthful trends. Digital must be headed up by the stoner grandson of Mr. Outfitters because the lack of digital product integration is overshadowed by rampant fullfillment fails and even worse customer relationship management. I have ordered from UO.com at least 12 times in the last three years, and I always pay for overnight shipping, because, you know, thats how I do. Out of those twelve, zero has been delivered within 2 working days, let alone the 5-6 day period. Typically it takes 4 days before I receive an email that the order is being processed. Then the customer service line is unresponsive, and unwilling to right this wrong. Bottom line; do not order from urbanoutfitters.com
Never in my life have I come upon such unprofessional, poorly executed service. I made my order with a representative who guaranteed that my order would be delivered by the 24th at the latest. It was then delayed to the 28th, which I only discovered because it was 7PM and I still had no gift delivered. I had nothing to give to my family on Christmas due to this company. On the 28th, I recieve my item... and it's the wrong one. I got a BOX... AN EMPTY BOX that was suppose to have footwear in them. I ordered a completely different item! I then am told it will be delivered in over-night shipment and it never comes because apparently it can only go ground shipping. I then have to wait until the 4th for my order, recieve an alert it has arrived AND THERE'S NOTHING THERE! The supervisor rudely told me there was nothing she could do after all my inconveniences! I also emailed the CEO and was never even graced with a response. DO NOT ORDER FROM URBAN!
I ordered a champion sweatshirt on wednesday with express shipping ($15.95 extra) over all my purchase was $77.95 for a crew neck sweatshirt. I got the sweatshirt. It had black stains on it and rust stains. I am a regular customer but they did not have this sweatshirt in store and I needed it for a show that saturday. I obviously could not wear it. I called on friday when i got the product and the young lady on the phone tells me shes going to do over night shipping for me. Which ws a lie because expedited shipping cannot be done on fridays and I know this because this is what I do for WORK. Its my job. She tells me she will email me and RMA, didnt email me anything. I call back monday, talk to something who actually explains that they are just reps and the whole process has to go through a "higher party" So the lady i am talking to sends me a RMA, when fedex comes to my work to pick it up they scan it and the label is invalid... how convenient. So they have my money for this destroyed sweatshirt, my card on file. If we treated our customers like this... wow. Its honestly a disgrace
Yes, the clothes may be nice (overpriced, but nice), but that doesn't mean that the shipping can be so messed up. My items got delivered seperately, which I think is idiotic as it just leaves room for error, and missing items. 2/3 of my items were delivered within 2 weeks (not very good delivery anyway), and a month later I'm still waiting for a top that has been apparently shipped a week ago. When I go back onto my orders on the app and click on the top I bought, it says it is no longer available, which leads me to believe they sold me a top that was sold out to begin with, and they've waited this long to wait for it to get back in stock, which I would have prefered to be told instead of the cryptic email I received from their customer help team saying its still "processing" which could take 3 days when it had already been a month, and that they would email me if they couldn't fulfill my order- but if they couldn't fulfill my order, why did they take my money to begin with?
Honestly, the products delievered are not worth the hassle by any means and when my top eventually arrives I'll be sending a strongly worded complaint to their awful customer care team, because the delivery just isn't good enough.
I spent a whole day choosing carefully which items I wanted to purchase, they had good sale prices and I was excited about buying several items. I chose the sizes, the colours, it took me hours.
Finally, I decided to pay and all of a sudden I received a message saying some items couldn't be delivered to my address. By "some" they meant all of them. I tried changing my address to one in another city, it didn't work, I tried with other addresses, didn't work either.
Finally contacted customer service and they told me to clear my caché, that I was probably seeing items that were already sold. But no, after doing so the items still appeared as available. On my phone and on the laptop in two different browsers. They simply show as available but aren't, making people lose their time. If they think this will make customers buy some of the more expensive items that are still available, it's not going to work, because I've lost a whole day of my life that I'll never get back and the last thing I want to do is buying in Urban Outfitters ever again. They have disrespected me and every other customer that is also losing their time with this same issue.
Shame on them! Fix your website and respect people!
Tip for consumers:
Don't use it, ever.
I wish there was an option for 0 stars. I have never had so much trouble ordering an e-gift card from a company. I placed the order and received the order confirmation email, and a "welcome to UO" email, but never the E-gift card to print out and send to the birthday recipient. I called twice and was on hold more than 10 minutes each time, wrote 3 emails to customer service and I still never received the E-gift card. I finally just printed out the order confirmation and put it in the birthday card. The recipient received it, went online to use the $50 and they said he needed a pin from the gift card. Well, they NEVER sent it to me. So he called and gave the only information he had for the $50 gift cert. Which was the order conf. Number. They were not going to honor it so he said he would like to file a complaint and they went ahead and ordered the vinyl for him with $2 left over that he will never get to use. A side note: at the same time I ordered from Urban Outfitters, I placed an order for a E-gift card from REI - I received everything via email within 60 seconds.
While I love shopping here, their online ordering never works correctly and I have had so many problems. I used to use PayPal when ordering with them, but the function hasn't been working for months. On another note, I recently went off to college and so I had to change my shipping address to my dorm building. Now when I try to change it back to my home address, the page glitches and will not let me. I had to make another account with a different email so I could send an order to my home address while I was home over winter break. Also, when I was getting ready to leave for college, I ordered some bedding that was on backorder and they ended up canceling my order at the last minute because they found out they weren't getting anymore of that bedding in. I've gathered that that happens frequently from reading other reviews on this site. I also remember about a year ago, their online ordering wasn't even working and I had to do it over the phone. Basically, the online ordering is just a mess and its either a hit or miss whether it's going to work or not. Their customer service has been helpful, though, in the few times that I have needed them and I usually get their shipments pretty quickly. Free returns are always nice as well.
I have ordered from urban outfitters multiple times, and have never had a problem with them, (besides clothing being a bit small for sizing) so I alwaus have ordered a size bigger, I ordered 3 pairs of shorts in a size 30 (being the size bigger because always have a problem) all shorts were under the same sizing chart and everything and when I received them they were all different sizes, they all said 30 however the one pair I could fit both my legs in one leg hole, one was too tight and the other fit fine, I am angry because I spent over 150 for one pair to fit when I took the time to make sure I got the right size! The pair that fit also ended up ripping down the side when I put them on and now I'm paying an extra 30$ to get them fixed because they are very cute! Overall not happy with the sizing and I believe it should be redone so that this doesn't happen, I've considered sending them back but I've only heard bad things about the shipping and and refunds and exchanges... I mean that's my own fault but there goes 150 down the drain!
My missus bought me a shirt from their website as a gift for Easter, it was like a black shirt with grey quater length sleeves. My missus hadn't realised that the shirt I got Easter Day, was not the right shirt at all. I thought to myself this isn't a big issue, this can be easily resolved. Boy was I wrong! I emailed them that very day, and I do admit they were very quick to respond and a guy told me I had to return the incorrect order within seven days and he had also told me I have to wait 72 hrs, for them to check their stock. I've literally waited for a week now. I did email them again and this time I got a reply stating 'I'll raise this issue with our warehouse team'
And I still have not heard from them, until yesterday. I recieved an emailing stating I returned a shirt that I have no possession of. What the hell! So they are sending me a shirt that I did not order and they gave me a partial refund of £3.99
Overall, the online team are lazy, and they are not doing their jobs correctly. Best off going in to the shop.
I used to place orders from UO online all the time no problems. I recently placed a big order on the website ($450) and the order got cancelled immediately with no explanation. I tried again. Cancelled again NO EXPLANATION. I tried calling customer service and they informed me that there was a hold on my account due to fraud? REALLY? Fraud? OK. They told me they can't do anything about it and that I have to wait for the fraud team to get back to me in the next couple of days. Nobody from the so called "fraud" team ever got back to me, so I tried calling again trying to get an explanation of why my orders kept getting cancelled and they told me that there was fraud suspected on my address. ON MY FING ADDRESS DUDE. Like what the f does that even mean? I have outstanding credit there was no reason for my order to keep getting cancelled. I have never ever ever had any problems due to "fraud" placing orders on any website and I do online shopping at least 3-4 times a week from various online shops. This has been the biggest headache ever. I won't be shopping at UO anymore. Thanks but no thanks. Also "Courtney N" from the live chat is a total bi@tch
I placed an order on a Monday and paid 15 dollars for expedited shipping (2-3 business days) ($276 if that means anything) for 4 items.
I needed my items by Friday hence why I expidited the shipping and paid extra.
2 of my items didn't ship till WEDNESDAY. And 2 of them they can't even FIND?!? They claim it's not available in the warehouse so they have to find it in a store to ship it to me. Well, if I had known that paying 15 bucks wouldn't mean anything I would have not ordered these items at all. It's not Thursday and my items have not been located in a store to send to me. Well, I live in San Diego and I called the local urban outfitters 20 mins away from me and guess what, they have both my items in the right size and color! Wow well now I don't have the money to purchase these items because UO placed a HOLD on the money in my account even though they clearly say "you will not be charged until items ship" HA you might have well have charged me if my money is already on a hold... lousy customer service. No one there even pretends to care about your problem. Do not order online at all.
Always open, always awesome. Clothing, accessories and apartment items for men and women.
