I've been with US bank for a long time. The service has always been courteous. If I had a challenge and needed support they've given it. I can't think of one bad thing to say about US bank...! Don't get me started on wells fargo though.
1st off I have been with US Bank since 2002 Which lead me to believe That I would be a valued customer. I have a situation where someone try to cash a check for $2500 out of my checking... account. US Bank has done nothing to get me the information of who the person was. They keep putting it off on the detective or the other bank. It has been about 6 months and now we are going into the New Year with still no info. Does it really take that long to tell me who deposited the money into the account from the cellphone. I have called them back 2 or 3 times and nothing.
Purchased the car after lease with this bank. They proposed a ransom program that they called "loyalty" for some reason, it's when they add 20% to your car's value if you purchase through the other bank. And the loan rates they offered were much higher than any other bank. They are not US-wide and send a quote that is valid for 10 days with regular mail so it remains valid only for 2-3 days after you receive it, and you have to deliver a cashier's check back within the validity period. No option to pay electronically and they don't have branches in Texas but dare to provide leasing services through Texan dealerships.
This is the worst experience I ever had. I recommend to avoid this bank at all efforts.
Last I checked this is fifth largest bank in USA.
Out of no where, they decide to force everybody to Mastercard.
Now, go change all your Auto Pay merchants to the new card number.
Screw that, why force the bank customer to do all that crap.
Overall U S Bank has been OK, & I have never lost money in various transactions. Plusthey seem ethical compared to the other big banks.
US Bank has been with us for years. We appreciate all the hard work they've put into helping us out as customers. Our family has been with US Bank since I opened my first account at 18! We love the bank and they're all over, especially if you look around. Some people don't know it but they do offer locations in Hawaii, especially if you look through yelp and 711. Thank you again for everything US Bank!
I got married and changed my name so I tried updating my information online, but you can't do that. Says you can over the phone. I call and am told they'll mail me a bunch of paperwork I need to mail back so I'm told to go to the branch despite all near me having hours that don't work with my schedule. They update my name. I confirm it will update on my debit AND credit cards. I get a replacement for debit and no credit. There's no one to email and I can't understand a word your customer service people say because my signal at my home is bad so I'm left going to the branch and taking off work AGAIN. This is pathetic.
Made $44,500 deposit.
Asked teller when the funds would be available.
Teller said "the deposit will show as pending but tomorrow it will show deposited and then funds will be available."
The correct answer is there is a 7 day business hold.
I contacted the branch manager Vivian and she did nothing. She did not address the teller nor offer to help resolve issues caused by the unavailable funds.
Do not use US Bank for finances unless you want problems, excuses and multiple phone transfers.
Today I spoke to 10 different people from US Bank and nothing has been resolved.
I've been a customer for 13 years.
I'm done using US Bank.
Use credit unions instead and stop using banks.
I've been with this bank for roughly 25 years and I've never been this disappointed. They've changed their clear and concise website into an unreadable mess. It is so cluttered that you don't know where to look first. I don't want or need to know all the information that they are throwing at me on my "dashboard." If I wanted to know my last transactions in a certain account then I would click on that account. Why is this on the front page? It's taking up space and forcing me to look for my accounts - which should be front and center, not shuttled off to the left. What yahoo justified their job by coming up with this ridiculous redo?
Us bank closes your account without your consent or permission. They sneak fees as well. They treat account holders of 15 plus years like garbage. I will be sure to tell absolutely everyone I know and strangers never ever to use this financial institution ever. Only gave a star because I am required to if I could I would give them negative stars.
They relay you from one dept to another with a simple question.
Some of the workers scold you and cut you off when you talk, saying you signed the contract, when all you did was ask why the apr is so high.
There are various fees that they can change at any time and they won't reverse fees on things that are out of your reach, even when you pay in a timely manner.
I've been with this bank 17 years and I'm sick of it. I feel like they're stealing from me.
Answer: U.S. Bank is NOT A SCAM! I've been banking with US Bank for over 18 years, and unlike many banks (TCF in particular... who's process may have changed by now since they got sued over it) US Bank counts your deposits first, checks or debits against your account second. If you know how to use Google, and you can find a branch by you, you will get the help you need. The statements by Joe B. Are insanely false and ridiculous. I have 2 checking accounts, 3 savings account and 2 US Bank Visa cards, I've never had an issue doing what I needed to do with regard to any of these accounts, and if I did have a question, they were easy to reach and always helpful. I am NOT currently a fan of their mobile app as they've kept updating it to a point where bill pay is messed up, but otherwise it has been most useful for transferring money and managing my balances. I've traveled the country and never had an issue getting money when I needed it, or handling my finances. And the bill pay on their website has helped me manage my monthly payments (house, utilities, loans) with ease, which was suggested by a US Bank customer service rep... which until recently, was very effective even through the mobile app. And just for the record, I've been buying groceries (and countless other things) at Walmart for 20 years... guess how I paid for it.:-) In general, over 18+ years, I can absolutely recommend US Bank. And no, I don't work there, I'm just a customer who opened an account there because it was across the street from where I worked at the time.
Answer: At the time, it was convenient because it was across the street from where I worked. I've stayed with them because they have always come through for me. Customer Service is easy to contact at 1-800-US-BANKS. Or you can find a branch where you live at USBank.com. And NO, I don't work there, I'm just a customer that knows how to use Google, the internet, a keyboard... c'mon people, use the hat rack on your shoulders.
Answer: Why are you asking people in a forum?! Call the bank and ask them! Here is a place to start: https://www.usbank.com/about-us-bank/customer-service.html
Answer: I had to buy US Bank checks recently. Two boxes cost me $40.80
