I was skeptical because I just happen to come across Vacasa. From beginning to end, me and my sisters and Mom had a great time. It was easy to use and they were very responsive to any questions that I had. I'm using them again in April for my next trip. These are individual homes, condos and apartments.
Rustic River Paradise in Baring WA. Booked via Booking.com it is however a Vacasa managed property. The place was too dirty/falling apart to stay at with kids (and massively overpriced at over 200$ a night for a quiet rural area) so we went back home - not quite the summer vacation plan we were going for. Vacasa absolutely will not refund or come to any other agreement. As they are currently treating customers who booked rentals that may not even be standing after the Hurricane the same way I guess that's not a surprise. They also claimed to Booking.com (and the BBB - filing a complaint at the BBB is also entirely useless) that I turned down their offers, they made none. Avoid anything Vacasa managed.
We rented a two story house from Vacasa, with most of rooms downstairs, we were not able to use the downstairs, it had so many huge pet stains all over downstairs carpet, MULTIPLE stains, it smelled and was absolutely gross. There was garbage all over in "fenced" backyard and was so overgrown and had poo everywhere it could not be used. The upstairs toilet leaked from the bottom of toilet, and fridge downstairs leaked everywhere. We let Vacasa know, and they admitted they had seen personally the carpet but blamed the owners. Vacasa was a horrible place to deal with and still cannot believe how they treat people. We learned our lesson and will never use them again.
I have had Vacasa manage my property for 7 years in San Diego. Vacasa has tried to grow too quickly and has ruined their once great reputation. They haven't reinvested in my local community employees who used to clean my property and local handymen to fix issues. They fired all of them and created lucrative contracts with large commercial cleaners and doubled the cost to the vacation home renters. Their booking fees are exorbitant. Their management fee was greater than 30%. The upper management aren't responsive. I would not recommend any homeowner entertain allowing them to manage their property.
I found out less than a week away from our vacation that out Harley motorcycles are not allowed on their property! They are refusing to give me a full refund! Nowhere does it say in rental agreement that street bikes are not allowed. I would give them negative stars if I could. This is an Arizona property.
We booked a home from Airbnb Wednesday till Sunday thanksgiving weekend first there was a live bird in the home 2.5 hours to get a response and a person to remove it multiple items broken grill so dirty could not use and the hot tub was drained and unusable kitchen lacked most items and is extremely small

I rented a condo at the majestic sun for 9 nights. My son and granddaughters were sleeping in the room with fabric headboards. The following morning they were covered with bites. The headboards were full of bedbugs. I captured 2 in a glass and took pictures. They refused to move us saying that we could spread them. My son and granddaughters slept on the sleeper sofa after they were bitten by the bedbugs. The next day the exterminator came and verified the bedbugs and said that they were only in that one bedroom. Vacasa said we had to vacate ASAP. They had no regards I did get a full refund. But this was a traumatizing for my son and granddaughters. We will be sueing vacasa. I will never rent from vacasa again!
Vacasa is an awful management company beware! Vacasa bought the company I was with and I was loved int a year contract! I had good reviews and rental history until Vacasa! To make them look better they delete negative reviews! I've had to screen shot reviews so I can address things! I fortunately I found out too late and there has been significant damage to my property! They do not inform owners of damages you have to find out by checking reviews daily or going to your rental property frequently! Please do not use this company to manage your properties and renters beware they do not take care of properties and leave them disgusting! I will never stay at a property Vacasa manages!

We canceled a trip 5 days before going it was a snowmobiling trip to Wisconsin no snow all trails closed and no snow in future we gor no refund and insurance giving us a run around never again will we use this company 1444.00 lost but we are going to idaho 8 feet of snow in cascade and airbnb is what we are using

I rented a unit through VRBO. 45 days before the reservation date I requested to change my booking dates, only to be told there's a $100+ change fee from the "owner", which is Vacasa of Florida. When I called VRBO, they said they didn't have any control over the situation. However, it's deceptive business practices by Vacasa to not state that information anywhere in the listing. I wound up cancelling my reservation and booking elsewhere.

As an owner, we have used Vacasa to rent our property for two years. Their cleaning is average at best. They don't have any contractors that facilitate repairs. We had a pipe burst in our cabin and had to cancel three rentals. Vacasa moved those guests to other properties but still charged us their 35% management fee. So we OWED Vacasa money at the end of the rental month. They made more money on our cabin than we did. They also charge your guests excessive "booking fees" often many hundreds of dollars, which is revenue the owner doesn't share in. There are better alternatives. Find them.
We stayed in a house in Newry Maine. Upon arrival we saw the banister leading to the front door was broken ( just needed to be screwed) and the safety rails around the deck in some areas were again, broken or missing however you'd word it. Three times they were notified about this and not once did someone come to fix it. The house was dirty and in need of a thorough cleaning.
We actually left early because of Vacasa not doing anything about fixing the broken railing and cables. Now, trying to get a refund from them for a couple of days is becoming a joke.
I definitely do not recommend this company. This is the first time I ever used them and it'll definitely be my last.
Rented pet friendly place thru Expedia read all the conditions and paid non refundable rent amount to Vacasa. Two days letter received rental agreement from Vacasa with totally different rules and regulations including "pets not allowed, fine is 1K". Was told have-to sign this or no check-in information. I'm a licensed real estate agent and this is SCAM. You don't take non refundable money first and THEN ask a tenant to sign rental agreement they don't agree with. Their property management license should be suspended or reworked all together. What they are doing is illegal. I plan on filing official complaint with the state Real Estate Commission

Skiscape Steamboat Springs - Home was dirty, no response from management, starter supplies consisted of used toilet paper rolls, no maintenance after hours even if it involves the heater. No on-site or local management co - phone call only and very unprofessional. I wish I had seen these reviews before I booked with them because it seems to be a consistent problem.
Just hung up after waiting on the phone for over two hours to speak with a representative, at their so called 24Hr call center. Also, Account portal was not functioning. Finally, Vacasa deleted a negative review that I had posted on their Facebook page. Stay Away!

This company is not concerned about your safety or your enjoyment for a rental. Every one needs to read their reviews and see what their past customers think of this place. House we rented had board coming up on the deck and unsafe railing. Same review was given earlier, they did nothing.
Reserved an apartment on the beach and tried to add a night. After 5 phone calls, we were given wrong information and claimed nothing was available and then told there was. We inadvertently double booked because of their misinformation. They refused to correct the mistake. I don't recommend renting through vacasa. Avoid them at all costs!

Rented from Vacasa for two homes in Seaside FL in July. Up front was okay but when we got their door codes did not work Wi-Fi codes did not work. To get help you have yo talk to someone in Belize that does not speak good English. To top it all off I left my iPad mini at the house the morning we departed. Has the actual screen shot of its location. In order to even look for it Vacasa charges 28.00. Then it takes weeks for them to confirm they've been unable to find it. What a ripoff.
Old houses poor maintenance bad communication no cancellations no future credit terrible experience they took 1500 dollars just because they dont cancel my reservation due to storm in the area worst peoples ever stealing moneys i hope they close this companie

We love visiting OC but after this years experience renting through Vacasa I don't think we'll be back. We rented a very expensive condo in Golden Sands thinking it was well kept, clean and renovated. Sadly once we arrived we learned Vacasa's listing for this unit was complete fraud. The pictures of the condo must have been from years ago. The rental was disgusting filthy. Kitchen was covered with roach droppings. Live roaches found in refrigerator. Bedding under the sheets provided was beyond disgusting- dirty and stained. Air conditioner was not working well. It was a disgrace. I contacted Vacasa several times on our trip and also several times once getting home. We left early bc we were way to uncomfortable there in filth. They only agreed to refund a couple of hundred and that was with a fight. We paid over 3 grand for the week. Shameful! We will never rent through Vacasa again.

In the past 2 weeks 03/01 to 03/10, we had booked into a Condominium located within the 5* Reunion Resort, Central Florida. To state, this has been our worst experience of renting a vacation apartment ever. The apartment was dirty, there was hair in the bathroom draws, the fridge leaked, the carpets were disgusting and stained, the property needed painting to cover all the spillages where previous guests had split food down the walls, the furniture was end of life and the bed springs on the master bed were pushing through. After complaining to both central and local guest services for 10 days, and having had no air conditioning because it was broken, we relocated to another property at our cost. Fortunately we found a property that wasn't Vacasa managed. Never again will we book with Vacasa. For all their blurb on their website, I can tell you, much of it is not true. Be warned is my conclusion.

I would not rent from this company whatsoever. It took someone 20 min to answer a text, almost 24 hours via email and 19 min on hole via phone for answers. Stick with Air BB and VRBO. AT least there you can actually communicate with the owners of the properties.

I left my cosmetic bag with medication in rental. Called within 2 hours of departure, they took 3 days to tell me they didn't find it- basically must have been taken by cleaning crew or Vacasa management. Do not use this company to rent from- wish I had reviews prior to rental.
