Ripped off
March 10, 2023

Left it up to my GF to rent for a two night stay at Shaver Lake,Ca. Arrived at 4pm, no heat, began calling customer service. 20 degrees. Probably 20 texts and phone calls, no results. Fast forward, following morning, 48 degrees in house, no heat. VaCasa hadn't paid the propane bill. They promised to comp the first night BFD. Now they won't acknowledge that promise. This Service is definitely the worst ever. Do not use!

Scam!

The listing was not what we got, their customer service reps hung up on us MULTIPLE times. They lied about everything and talked in circles. If this has happened to you, call your credit card company to issue and charge back immediately. Also, report them to the better business bureau. I could write a book on all the wrong they did. Report them!

There were no fewer than four lock boxes, incorrect codes, none of the keys fit the door. After waiting 2 and a half hours! NO ONE came to help despite many phones (nearly impossible long hold times). We had to leave without entering the beach and never received a refund. Impossible! Do not use them!

When speaking wit the Vacasa representative, we were told the property owner decided to cancel our reservation. No further explanation. We received email notification of the cancellation with a note our credit card had been refunded, however no such refund has been processed. This is not a professional property management company. We'd give them 0 stars if allowable. BEWARE!

Please know that under the unfortunate circumstance a reservation has to be canceled, our Relocations Team does everything within their power to relocate you to another home of the same quality. Overall, very disappointing. Apparently, cleanliness is an unrealistic expectation. When we arrived, one of our beds was stained with urine, the company cleaned the bed and advised they would return. However, no one returned and the bed was unusable for two days due to water saturation. The shower curtain was molded, one missing hooks. The living room
Chairs and kitchen chair pads were stained and honestly, did not even want to utilize them. The balcony screen was tore. There was some sort of bug(s) that continued to come out from the stove. When I reached out to the company, I was advised They "would reach out to local staff about concerns". However, no mention of compensation or credit. I typically am not one to complain but I when booking a spot for vacation. At minimum you want to feel comfortable and not disgusted. Overall, much work is needed.

Several months without paying housekeeping several months management stealing and drinking on property allowing too many guests and under charging thousands of dollars of items stolen before our first couple months of guests by management. Great customer service horrible management! One lady said don't talk bad about my friend to me after my concern of my home being robbed and her drunk while greeting guests! 3-4-5 managers later we will see if they pay and reimburse and make this right!

Sewage backup
June 17, 2022

I hate that I even have to give them 1 star. We checked in on Thurs at 3pm, immediately had an issue with a light falling off a ceiling fan and causing a loud spark! The gate to the outdoor stairs just fell out of the wall. But all of that is nothing to the sewage backing up in the downstairs bathroom Sat morning. Called them, they sent someone out who could not fix the problem. We dealt with this all day Sat, all day Sun until check out on Mon. While I was in contact with someone, they notified me I would be getting a refund…. After asking multiple people exactly what they were giving me back I found out it was $150 of my nearly $5000! Now I conveniently can't reach anyone.

Cabin filthy!

If I could leave 0 stars I would. Wife rented a 1 bedroom cottage on the beach in South beach, OR. $150 a night plus $100 cleaning fee. Cleaning fee for WHAT? Cabin ceiling, walls, cabinets and mantle COVERED in what we thought was mold, it turned out to be black soot from the dura flame logs they provide to guests. I could wipe the soot off fireplace with my hand. Wife is asthmatic and struggled our 2 days there. To many maint issues to list. Cabin could be a gem if it was cleaned and maintained. Hopefully pics show the story... not sure why pics are upside down, they are good on my end

Bait and switch?

I found two different vacation rentals on Vacasa that said they were available during the dates of our stay. But when I tried to book either place, I got an email from them and they said those places were booked but then suggested a more expensive place. Why not update your calendars? Also when I tried to call several times it went straight to voice mail during business hours and we didn't get a call back within a reasonable amount of time. This all seems very fishy.

Customer service is trash. Arrived to our rental in North Padre island and upon initial inspection found the shower doors of their track and stuck in the middle. I called Vacasa right away and was told a work order would be placed. I was there for 4 days and no one ever came. As the days went on I began to find several other problems with rental. Honestly I don't know how this company is still in business. This was my first and last time I will ever book with Vacasa. One last thing, stay away from rental Pathway to the sea #102 in N. Padre Island. Issues with this rental did not just begin when I got there. These issues are old and it dosnt seem like the owner cares to fix them..

Horrific cancellation situation
November 19, 2022

My mom and dad were scheduled to rent a place in Feb 2023. The hurricane came in fall 2022 and my mom's friends said there was alot of debris and mold in the area they are renting. My mom has horrible health issues and severe asthma and allergies. My dad tried to cancel their reservation 5 months in advance and they refuse to give him back just over $5,000 even with my mom's extensive health issues (which I think should be taken into consideration given she can easily have physician send info). This is completely unacceptable to treat someone with a severe health issue trying to cancel 5 months in advance like this. The host should be mortified.

As a homeowner Vacasa is a terrible partner. The problems that I had with them were way too many to list here, Every time I went to my vacation home I had to spend the first day at the hardware store to get parts for things that should have been repaired by the management company. The most telling experience that I had was that they added a "booking fee" on top of the rental fee without notifying me. They reduced that rental rate so I received less money. The guest ended up paying about the same for the rental, but my payment was based in the lower rent. These guys can not be trusted.

The management fee we take from the rent cost helps us pay for our local, on-the-ground staff, upkeep of the home, copywriters, photographers, etc. Our booking fee helps us cover the cost of the credit card processing fees for each reservation, 24/7 customer experience support team, and helps us fund other administrative costs, so owners can relax with a truly hands-off experience because we do it all, and our dynamic pricing allows us to set the right price at the right time to gather the greatest number of bookings at the home, so though the overall cost of each reservation might come a little bit less than the owner is used to, their year over year income is increased!

Disappointing quality for the money

Regarding: www vrbo com /*******

A duct taped futon dangerously collapsed and almost injured people.

Air quality was very poor (everyone was sneezing a lot of the trip), dishes/utensils were dirty. Clearly a cleaning service either isn't used or they didn't do their job.

The garbage can was broken, sink duct taped, pull out sofa broken, and lack of responsiveness from the property manager.

Very frustrating experience, and they didn't do anything about it, and offered a 6% refund on an over 3K bill, pretty insulting.

There was no trip
June 2, 2021

Worst booking experience of my life and I love to travel. Reservation was cancelled, property came offline for renovation. Relocated to another property. Reservation was cancelled because of no cleaning crew. During this, my phone call was dropped/disconnected no less than 5 times. Each time I needed to start over with new agent only to have call dropped again. No properties remained in the entire city or neighboring city except one that was triple the price. Vacasa would not budget on the pathetic compensation. ** Check reviews before booking... anywhere. Vacasa was a horrible experience.

This company is unquestionable the worse management company I have ever dealt with. They change property managers frequently, you cannot reach any manager by phone, no voice mail, they do not respond to you, not even in a timely manner if ever. They charge you for replacements of stuff twice so you must be careful and watch your account like a hawk. Their fees are way too high for the services they provide, you should be able to do much better with other companies. Management is very poor.

Never Again
October 3, 2022

We stayed at Lighthouse Condominiums in Gulf Shores AL in September. The property was managed by Vacasa. The photos were not accurate and there were numerous issues with the unit, including water damage, black mold and a damaged Master tub. I sent them over 25 pictures of issues with the unit. The only thing they fixed was tightening the bunk beds and it took them 2 days to do that. They originally said I would be compensated for all the issues and then refused to do so. There customer service is awful. Don't waste your time and money booking a rental with them.

I do not recommend using Vacasa. We had issues as soon as we got there. The cold water would not cuff off in one of the bathrooms i called, text, and emailed with no reply until Saturday the said they were going to send someone out but never did the hot water stopped working and had to call back wait time was over an hour and still no one come to fix it the toilet was leaking as well. Customer service is a. Joke amd the property manager is too.

Arrived to find broken and leaking dishwasher/disposal. We had no hot water the entire time and we received no response until the night before we left. We found out that all the contact info in the guest book was outdated. We received an email from vacasa a week after the trip stating they were sorry for getting back to us so late but they have been overwhelmed with emails. One of the ridiculous service fees are to protect the customer from these problems.

Toilet in master bathroom overflowed (I stopped it myself so that no permanent damage was done. This toilet gurgled every time I took a shower. Called customer service, said they would send a plumber the next morning. No sign of a plumber, I'm not holding my breath. I will never rent from a Vacasa managed property again.,

Booked a home in North Myrtle Beach through Vacasa and highly disappointed. Arrived to dirty floors with so much grit on them we had to go out and get a swiffer and clean the floors ourselves, the filthy mop they used stuck up the house so bad we had to put it outside. No shower curtains and the shower liners were torn and ripped and not usable, again we had to go buy them. One garbage bag for entire visit supplied, one roll of toilet paper per bathroom only provided. Some ammenities not even in house. Called Vacasa when arriving, and a couple times during the week texting with the "Local" group. Local group never showed up with the missing ammenities and none responsive to fixing non working lights or coming to clean.
