I was skeptical because I just happen to come across Vacasa. From beginning to end, me and my sisters and Mom had a great time. It was easy to use and they were very responsive to any questions that I had. I'm using them again in April for my next trip. These are individual homes, condos and apartments.
Rustic River Paradise in Baring WA. Booked via Booking.com it is however a Vacasa managed property. The place was too dirty/falling apart to stay at with kids (and massively overpriced at over 200$ a night for a quiet rural area) so we went back home - not quite the summer vacation plan we were going for. Vacasa absolutely will not refund or come to any other agreement. As they are currently treating customers who booked rentals that may not even be standing after the Hurricane the same way I guess that's not a surprise. They also claimed to Booking.com (and the BBB - filing a complaint at the BBB is also entirely useless) that I turned down their offers, they made none. Avoid anything Vacasa managed.
Scott Michael and Jason were good at responding to items needed. After brought to their attention trash and recycle taken out on proper days. Bed is master very saggy and not comfortable. Maybe a foam bed would be better. Rug was dirty and sofa had lots of dog hair on it. Maybe consider non shedding dogs in rental or a deep clean. I don't think they have time to do that, but it would be nice. Ceiling looks like it has been leaking and needs repair. Stools too high for counter.
They got us propane tanks when needed and when there was a storm coming helped to put items on patio away safely. The owner needs to make some improvements to the rental. Gas fires places would be nice if they worked one is aesthetic the other should have worked as advertised. Some kitchen items needed for long term renters. Overall our long term stay was pleasant and the view was outstanding.
We checked into our place several hours ago. Internet password doesn't work and my kids are going crazy. My husband called about 5 hours ago and they said they would send someone out… no one ever came. I just called again and the girl (Alex) was extremely nice, said she saw our ticket, but said it was too late they probably wouldn't do anything tonight, but they would "give us $25" for the trouble… Not even close to worth the trouble. I am super sick and my kids (3 young boys) have been going insane. They finally went to sleep and I decided to take a hot bath, but the water is only lukewarm and doesn't get better. I'm livid and this "vacation" is not certainly helping. I would much rather have been at home. I will NEVER rent through them again.
Our rental itself went well and smoothly. Nice clean property. 10 am non-negotiable departure ruined it though. I asked for just another hour and was given a robotic "sorry. That is not possible." On a short weekend rental, a 10 am departure is brutal. Just know that there is no human element when renting with vacasa.

Vacasa takes management fee, pet fee, when something is broken you pay insurance for every guest and still pay for repairs because it never meets the min damage. When linens are missing no one would take responsibility or replace. First 4 months billing was wrong. Great sales people on the phone but goes downhill the minute you sign up.
Absolutely filthy rental upon checkin. Stank of mold. Spider webs and mosquito nests in every room. Oven caked with grime. It was clear no one had been to place in years, yet misleading reviews suggested people had been staying there. Customer service was USELESS. We are working on getting a refund. We are reporting Vacasa and the property they rented us to the city board that oversees rentals.

Walked in to find a dirty place. The futon in the living room was broken. WiFi didn't work. I contacted them through text/email and their "24/7 customer service" number over a dozen times. No response. Some "Molly" bot responds to poor reviews with, "sincere apologies". We had to pack everything up and rent something else. Contact the BBB. This company has been getting away with this for a long time.

This is my first year renting my property with Vacasa. Initially they were very helpful and responsive. Now it's getting closer to rental time and I can't get anyone to return my calls. They've charged me $869 in unexplained fees and I can't get details on when they're dropping off linens, cleaning, etc. If they don't turn around their service, I'll never use them again.
Website inaccurate. Information confirmed by phone was inaccurate. And the phone customer service is the pits. Is practically torture. Takes crazy long. I spent literally hours confirming that the kitchen would have certain items my daughter (rental was for her) would need. And then it turned out there wasn't even a kitchen. It is very hard to understand the representatives; the connection is bad and all the phone reps I spoke with had strong accents. They can't or won't answer simple questions without a ton of info from the customer, including in one case repeatedly asking for a reference number I didn't have. Not that it matters because you can't rely on their answers anyway.

My review is for vacasa rental management company. I did inadvertently call the actual owners of the property (one time their number came up when I was trying to find the phone number quickly by googling the property) and they were upset that we were misled and are offering a partial refund. I want to be clear that my review is for vacasa and not for the owners of the individual unit. I am not sure they are aware of the customer experience.
Upon arrival at your condo, you have no recourse if you find that your bedding, i.e. Mattresses, are substandard or completely worn-out. Vacasa staff may be sympathetic, but they do nothing to resolve the situation, and so you are stuck renting a unit with completely unacceptable bedding. This happened to our family at Gulf Shores Alabama the Fall of 2022. Both bedroom kingsize mattresses were completely "shot". Vacasa later offered a 13% refund but it hardly compensated for poor sleep night after night of our one-week stay. A sleeper sofa was too filthy to use.
To begin, I have called Vacasa THREE times in an attempt to get our situation fixed. Each time the nice representative assured me we would be relocated—and then never called back.
Our rental is dirty, the bedding is stained and dirty, there are fruit flies everywhere, the bathroom situation is horrible, and the carpet in the bedroom is so musty my four year old, who still has breathing issues from Covid, is suffering.
Not to mention my father is sick with terminal cancer, and this house is added stress for him.
All of which I told the representatives.
They told me the local team would get in touch and relocate us.
Nothing.
We cannot afford to just leave and rent another place so we're stuck here.
It's a nightmare.
No one cares.
I've been so kind and polite each time I called, and explained the situation clearly. Nothing.
This is a horrible company and I urge anyone thinking to rent with them to choose differently.
This condo, the location, cleanliness, comforts of home, beach & lagoon views, pools & beach access were more than we'd hoped for!
Parking, WiFi & other amenities were on point.
Check in/out & parking/passes were all easy to complete/obtain/access.
The Vacasa customer service team was impeccable throughout the booking process (we had some unforeseen changes from our original booking/ properties & dates, but the three agents we worked with were awesome & made everything hassle free & without worry!

Our friends and us rented a property in South Lake Tahoe over summer vacations, from Vacasa. Honestly, a royal headache and total bate and switch. Complete lack of QA check. Yuck.
We left after one night because of the horrid condition of the home - peeling furniture, broken furniture, dirty, unsafe sleeping conditions for any of our kids, broken deck, broken outdoor furniture and so on. Just horrible.
They agreed to refund us (over the phone) yet when it came time to get our funds back, we were surprised that so much was charged.
They completely removed the property from their site since it isn't in good condition, but continue to hold our funds ransom by not returning the correct amount.
So vacasa when will you do the right thing?

I rented a property in Florida for the weekend. Attempted to reschedule to a different weekend due to unforeseen weather conditions that include severe thunderstorms, hail and possible tornadoes. I would have to drive from Louisiana through Mississippi and Alabama before entering Florida. Vacasa first told me to contact air bnb with my request, who told me only Vacasa could approve such a request. Vacasa has the ability to approve the request but instead declined and told me I had to keep my dates. That means driving threw extremely dangerous weather conditions, risking my life to not enjoy the beach at all. Not to mention that with the amount of rainfall that is expected, it might damage my car. They can care less about what goes on. I do not suggest you book with this company.

Staying in Sunriver Oregon for the Thanksgiving holidays. Nice house, over $1000 for just 2 nights. No heat, no hot water. Called Vacasa multiple times over 24 hours with no help at all. A neighborhood plumber took pity on us and found that the vacasa folks had space heaters. Vacasa was crap and did not help out. Seems they just care about getting money from folks. I will never stay with a vacasa property again.

Arrived at location, heat not working, place not cleaned (full dishwasher, dirty kitchen, trash). Vacasa couldn't send anyone to help. They offered no alternative. It was late and roads were icy. For safety, we asked to stay for the night and would leave the next morning. They told us to leave or face a police escort. Eventually, after hours on the phone, while my 77 year old parents sat shivering in the corner, they set us up with a another place and suggested they would comp the new and original location for our trouble. They went back on their word and still billed us $580. Horrible customer service.

I wish I could give zero stars. This company has no standards nor principles. I am unable to travel due to a medical emergency and Vacasa won't refund me nor offer me flexibility with dates so I can travel when I get the OK from my doctors. Avoid at all costs, this is the worse service I've ever received in the US. Heartless human beings who only take the money without having any duty of care for customers. Avoid at all cost. There is better people out there.
I checked into one of their properties today and it was absolutely disgusting! Bugs and stains all in the floor. Mold looking stain is in the ceilings. They refused to do anything, and I don't even want to sit down in here, let alone sleep! I see these reviews now, and I absolutely agree. The listing was misleading on location. I have reported them to BBB and will not stop letting people know never to use this company ever again! Buyer beware!
Checked into rental to find that no cleaning person had come in between renters. The house looks as though it hasn't been cleaned in a year. Trash in garbage can, the floors are filthy, kitchen is gross everything is sticky. Stains on couches, pillows, blood stains on bedding, brown stains on mattress bedding. This is just downright unsanitary. Vacasa is useless, no one answers the phone or responds to messages. Do yourself a favor and never EVER rent from them. Airbnb is the way to go, they have actual 24/7 service and stand by their standards. This is the worst vacation house I've ever been in, absolutely appalling and cannot wait to leave.
This location was not as pictured. There was no view or access to the ocean. The floors were filthy & the balcony it did have, was covered in cob webs. After contacting the company, they suggested having a new cleaner come in the morning & were unwilling to help with any concerns. We did not end up staying here. Although it took 3 additional hours after being 10 hours from home, we were able to find an accommodating place. The next day, management canceled our reservation & refunded the cost of the stay. I highly suggest speaking to someone before booking at any of these facilities. It was an extreme let down!
We rented a Vacasa rental in Palm Desert. 7/4-7/7.
This place was so disgusting we had to leave 1 Day early. Completely ruined our family 4th of July vacation. We found 3 live cockroaches inside the house, 2 dead cockroaches inside the pantry where the dishes were, dead flies inside the same pantry, mouse poop in multiple pantry cabinets and when we first walked in the place a dead spider laying in the floor. And it only got worse from there. The tile floor was so sticky and dirty we had to wear socks anytime while in the house. And your socks were black after only a few minutes. Then there's the garage. Tons of rat poop inside the garage and all around patio area.
As mentioned, we left 1 day early because we were not only disgusted but actually scared for our health and kids health. This was a disappointing rental.

Left it up to my GF to rent for a two night stay at Shaver Lake,Ca. Arrived at 4pm, no heat, began calling customer service. 20 degrees. Probably 20 texts and phone calls, no results. Fast forward, following morning, 48 degrees in house, no heat. VaCasa hadn't paid the propane bill. They promised to comp the first night BFD. Now they won't acknowledge that promise. This Service is definitely the worst ever. Do not use!
The listing was not what we got, their customer service reps hung up on us MULTIPLE times. They lied about everything and talked in circles. If this has happened to you, call your credit card company to issue and charge back immediately. Also, report them to the better business bureau. I could write a book on all the wrong they did. Report them!

Vacasa is an absolute joke. I had a family member work there & she was treated horribly for the majority of her stay. Never once was she trained like the boss & website said she would be. Not even for the few times they made her work through her d**n lunch. Also said she never would get paid for working OT, yet they had her working OT almost every single day. It really took a toll on her mental health & that's infuriating bc the benefits are actually really good & so was the pay. But nothing, I mean NOTHING is worth your mental health. Vacasa has had SEVERAL lawsuits already filed against them for a variety of reasons but they clearly don't care about their employees or their customers concerns. I do not recommend anyone choosing vacasa to rent from. You'd be wasting most of your time.
They are horrible to deal with, so unprofessional, no responses to my many messages sent via the VRBO app. I've never experienced low level service like this when renting a home, especially an expensive one. Im a repeat customer and am appalled at how they run their business. The whole point is to provide an elevated experience for renters, they are doing the opposite, i'm frustrated
Overall, very disappointing. Apparently, cleanliness is an unrealistic expectation. When we arrived, one of our beds was stained with urine, the company cleaned the bed and advised they would return. Chairs and kitchen chair pads were stained and honestly, did not even want to utilize them. The balcony screen was tore. There was some sort of bug(s) that continued to come out from the stove. When I reached out to the company, I was advised They "would reach out to local staff about concerns". However, no mention of compensation or credit. I typically am not one to complain but I when booking a spot for vacation. At minimum you want to feel comfortable and not disgusted. Overall, much work is needed.
