Wonderful at first until a purchase I did yesterday at Walmart. Walmart and Vudu have a collaboration when you buy something from Walmart you should be able to watch your video instantly on both Walmart/Vudu or Vudu itself. Both company's have been giving me the run around and pointing their fingers at one another as to why I can't watch my purchased movies. Frankly this is ridiculous, I emailed proof of my purchase and a pictures showing Vudu that in fact I have bought the items and picture showing they have taken it out of my bank account and even a picture showing that it is suppose to be watched instantly. Why are they now dodging me and shoving me under the rug? It's because I guess a buyers satisfaction is not on their top priority list.
I was satisfied with Vudu's service (although their prices are sometimes higher than YouTube or Google Play.) Recently, however, they've started showcasing hate films that include "jokes" about women being beaten up by pimps, and include racist and misogynist "humor." Complaints to Customer Service about the sexism and racism go nowhere.
Vudu, you had one job. I want my money back. I have the best internet and equipment. Amazon works. Netflix works. Vudu crashes every 5 minutes and kicks me out to the roku menu, or won't connect. Complete waste of money. I might finish my movie within 24 hours if I keep trying. Thanks vudu, you are completely worthless!
The site allows users to "download" digital copies so you can watch them offline... Well what they don't tell you is that all of the media is restricted and cannot be accessed without their app. Regardless of whether you are using the online app or the offline app, it rarely works. I purchased HD copies and could only watch them in standard definition. Even with the standard definition it continuously had problems. Worst purchase ever...
Their customer support is beyond terrible when it comes to gift cards. There was an error of $500 that was charged to my debit card. I contacted them within one minute of the purchase to try and fix the error. I have spoken to their customer service and they assured me that the gift card department knows of my refund request, yet no one has contacted me. This happened once before and they just don't respond. I will NEVER purchase gift cards from this company again! I'm sure to them $500 is no big deal, but to me it's huge. And apparently it is to them as well actually, since they refuse to give it up. This company will take your money and refuse to provide any assistance when an error occurs. Buyer beware!
I bought They Live on sale on Vudu and I start watching to find out that it's not in the correct 2:35 aspect ratio and instead is at 1:78. So I paid money to buy a product and I get only part of it? This is not the whole movie and not how it was intended to be watched. At least give me the actual movie and not some incorrect version of it or give me my money back.
I use The Chrome Browser and VUDU ads are always popping up offering special prices on some titles. When I click on the ad and goto the Site I don't see the same pricing available. I sent Customer service an inquiry about this and they claimed they can only honor prices on their own website and not ad's on Third party sites like browsers. That is just plain old bait and switch and false advertising as far as I'm concerned. The service itself is not that great anyways and I won't be using it.
Walmart has to be losing money big time on this terrible service.
This app is terrible. Plays 10 mins of whatever you're trying to watch then just randomly cuts off. Painful and makes watching anything hard to enjoy. This app makes me want to smash my tv. Good job Wal Mart
$#*!ing bull$#*!, I like how I spend my own hard-earned cash to buy a movie and then make it so ridiculously hard to download that no one can $#*!ing do it. Why not just use Movies anywhere seriously? Just make things more difficult how about?
You're supposed to be able to take your blu rays to walmart to convert them to digital for your video library, however, walmart employees never heard of the service (even the corporate office who denied that walmart owns vudu!). Vudu said "just speak with the manager" of the walmart as they all offer it. What a joke - neither Vudu or Walmart can help me find a walmart within 100 miles that offers this service.
Vudu is has the worst streaming and customer service I've ever experienced! Movies purchased will freeze up my entire tv (which is a new samsung uhd smart tv). I'd have better luck pulling out an old scratched up DVD to play. When I've emailed them for assistance they would never respond
We couldn't watch in HD, it would time out or buffer. When I contacted customer service they suggested to power down the router, cable box etc. I told them not worth all the trouble Netflix works without any issues. Nice idea but needs better speed.
I've used Vudu for several years, but suddenly several of my movies disappeared. Turns out they were removed retroactively because the purchase email didn't match the Vudu account email. Apparently Vudu doesn't realize that some households use more than one email address. Their support is horrible, I emailed and was told they would reply soon. Over a week later I still had not received a response so I finally called and was on hold forever before I finally talked to someone who said they couldn't help me.
I can stream hd and uhd on amazon, netflix, hbo now, showtime, youtube. But i can't make it 15 min sometimes into my movies before it gives me a network error. I transferred 50 movies to digital from disc and i can't watch any of them because vudu streaming is messed up. They are the only service that i have trouble with. I do not recommend this service for anyone. Internet speed doesn't matter. I have 30 mb download and it still doesn't work. Broken. Don't waste your money.
I really enjoy buying 20 dollar movies from this site only to have it stop working halfway through! Ibdo not know why I always keep trying Vudu its always the same thing. They take your money and you get your movie about 10 percent of the time. You're lucky if it does work and its fuzzy.
Downloaded movies skip, freeze, or have audio/video out of sync.
Cannot play downloaded movies on 3rd party video software to attempt a better viewing.
Full screen causes video image to disappear while audio continues.
No response to complaints on the forum, they just don't care.
I do not recommend using or purchasing from this service, I have been a customer for over 4 years, and NOTHING has been resolved.
Ordered a movie in October and had no problems with streaming it, so i ordered 3 more 2/1/15 expecting no issues. NOT SO. Now all 4 movies will not stream without constant buffering every minute. Have contacted customer support via email (only option available) multiple times with no reply. WTF! Should have gone with my gut feeling of to good to be true.

I've never had a problem with the site. Maybe it's because I have Dish? I don't know, but we've watched all of the Walking Dead, Once Upon a Time, The Following, Blacklist, ect, all with no issues at all. It seems I'm certainly the exception to the rule here! I've Always had problems with Hulu, never with Vudu. Go figure.
My only complaint is the sites UI. Really confusing, difficult to store the movies, and shows you want to watch. I put them in my "Wishlist," which seems to work. Well, anyway, I've not had a problem, so take it with a grain of salt if you wish. Good here.
Free movies have started buffering to the point of being impossible to watch. Vudu says It's a problem with wifi connection. This is NOT true. I've tried renting the same "free movies," and they do not buffer at all. Perhaps it's the ads that are buffering, or vudu does not have bandwidth to handle everybody downloading free movies.
I will not use vudu any longer for digital downloads. I have put all my movies there after purchasing the bluray, looking for easy access, in one place. When I try to download to my iPad, it's impossible. It will go to 99% and then fail. Others are having the same problem. I've also tried to use the disc to digital conversion and it stops at the final step and says try again later. I've contacted them twice about this with no response. When I've clicked on adding further information to the incident report the website goes crazy. My movies are going to iTunes from now on. I have absolutely no problem with downloading there.
Answer: I would just stay away from vudu altogether. They are the worst company I have ever interacted with. I spent a lot of money on videos with them and I cannot watch any of them because the just buffer literally every 5 seconds and then I downloaded them through vudu to go and they won't play on there either. I keep getting a message that vudu cannot authenticate my account. I e-mailed customer services 3 times and have never received a response. I have wasted about $1000. 00 on movies that I cannot watch. I have started using amazon prime video and other sites as well and have no problems whatsoever. Just stay away from vudu they are just taking your money.
Answer: I have had nothing but problems with vudu. My opinion is just stay away and use another company. They are the worst. You will waste your money.
