What on Earth Catalog

This is one of those websites you'd visit if you were looking for a remote controlled zombie or an alarm clock in the shape of a giant... well, you know what I mean. There are hundreds of them. This one is less tacky than most and surprisingly has some products on show that you might actually want to buy. Some of the tees have genuinely amusing comment, and there are well-known gifts like the Felix The Cat clock or the CIA Factbook alongside less conservative ideas such as the lounging aliens or the Nose Shower Dispenser. Worth a look if you're in the market for harmless fun gifts or unusual slogan tees.

They also have a loyalty scheme called Club WOE (sad choice of acronym there) which customers may join for $30. In return they get about double that amount in special deals or freebies. Should be good value if you're going to be using the site for regular or seasonal gift shopping.

I ordered a t-shirt and a knit top. The T-shirt is fine, but the top was patchwork with some seams on the inside, where they should be, and about half on the outside, where seams do not belong. I returned the top, and WOE (apt abbreviation) sent another, identical to the first. I asked for a refund ($64.99 plus tax) on August 5,2020, and was assured that I would get a refund, so I mailed it back using WOE's prepaid parcel return label on August 6,2020. Several days after I returned the second top, I got a letter from WOE, dated July 30,2020, saying, "We received a call from you regarding a product requiring a return authorization." This is odd because I did not call them until August 5. The letter gave me a "return authorization number" and noted that the number "will expire in less than 30 days," how much less it did not say. Because I had already returned the defective item, on their dime, I had no way to use their "authorization number." The letter also threatened "additional charges" (unstated) if I did not "return the merchandise as soon as possible." As of today, November 6,2020, I have not received a refund. My opinion: Do not do business with this company.

Can I give less than one star? I ordered three items from this place on 12/7, expecting to have the package in a week. Twelve days later I checked the order and it said to call customer support; I spoke to online chat three times that resulted in one hang-up and two totally useless conversations with people who had no clue and were semi-illiterate. Real class acts too as one of the answers from chatter #2 was "nope." Called customer service two days later and was told that one of three items was not available so they didn't bother sending anything. Asked if the other two items could arrive by Christmas and was told "oh no, you'll never get these by Christmas. Isn't that too bad?" When I then tried to cancel the order I was told that she couldn't do that. I'd have to talk to the warehouse.? So customer support is a waste. Don't order form these people.

My husband ordered me some shirts from this catalog as a birthday present. A month later, there is a charge from this company for $14.95 VIP service. My husband didn't sign up for the service, there was nothing on his receipt that noted this extra service, and as a previous commenter stated, "as a one-time courtesy" they are giving us a refund. Too bad, its a neat catalog of stuff, but I will do them the one time courtesy of not ordering from them again.

In December of 2015, I placed an order with these people, but the item never arrived. I phoned to let them know and they said they would promptly replace the lost gift at no cost to me. Dandy. The replacement arrived, was given as a Christmas present and I thought all was well--UNTIL January 11th when they charged me $14.95 out of the blue. I complained and they said it was a charge to join their "club" because I had "filed a claim" with them. I was never told about this and I was livid. They did refund the money--grudgingly. I will never buy from these people again. There are too many other catalog companies and online sites that won't try to cheat me.

They advertised some hilarious tongue magnetic key holders for about $7.00 each on sale. I added an octopus night light. Received order receipt on Nov 26. Shipped notice arrived 12/2. Package received at my Post Office 12/13. I drove thru snow to get it about 4 days later only to find the key holders were not in the package. The $6 nightlight was not really worth $6, but it was ok, but it apparently cost me $25. I work nights, they accept calls only during the day. Not worth wasting sleep time to try to get the keyholders. I get the distinct impression they have these low-priced "come-on" gifts so they can put something in the big box while they conveniently fail to put other items in. Your standard rip-off artists.
