If you need your order within 5 days, I strongly recommend purchasing elsewhere. I placed a recent order, the website advertised a 2 day shipping option, but it would not let me choose that at check out. I contacted CS to place the order with them, paid a hella high price for their 'standard' shipping, ($29) with an additional $15 fee for "2 Day Express" delivery. My order was processed same day, but not sent to FedEx until 2 days later, with the 'express' information apparently omitted, as FedEx had it as 'standard', and I'm still waiting on delivery 6 days after the fact. Young Explorers are running a shipping scam.
My father-in-law ordered a custom book in which they portrayed our blonde daughter as a brunette male, and Anne was disrespectful, condescending, and reluctant to resolve their mistake. Then, from another gift order I had to return for exchange, they do not furnish return labels so I paid $17 to mail back about $60 of merchandise…which they then denied they received despite proof of mail & receipt with USPS tracking. Both times, I was on the phone with customer service for just under an hour with 4-5 holds trying to speak with someone whose English was a challenge and was reluctant to fulfill their tenant as a customer service representative. They also do not have email or online tracking. How is this company in business?!?

Not only terrible customer service - but the phone system horrible. I needed "level 2 service" to correct a hacked credit card. They "transferred me". Four times looped to main menu. I will NEVER order again from this company.
This company should not be in business! They cannot deliver a product on time, lie about whether things have been shipped or not, and shut down their customer service so the buyer has no one to hold accountable. I have bought toys from many different retailers for children and grandchildren and never seen such rudeness and incompetence before. Fortunately there are many other places with great toys and wonderful customer service.
Had to return a product, claimed they never received it on more than one occasion. Luckily I shipped via UPS and had a tracking # and proof of delivery. Contacted them several times over 6 weeks to get my refund. They always came up with some excuse as to why they may not have scanned it yet. 5 weeks and they still claimed they had not received it but would issue me a refund within 72 hours once her manager approves it however since it is a Wednesday, weekends do not count so I should see it by Tuesday of next week... we'll see how that goes. I will NEVER purchase from this company again.
I have been trying to get my son's birthday gifts since 7/19. His birthday is in two days and I am still having issues. Supposedly there is an address mismatch issue but that can't be true because my card has been used many other times without issue.
My son's birthday is in 2 days and, despite several promises to overnight my delivery, nothing. Requests to speak with a supervisor go to VM, dead air or just get disconnected.
I cannot say enough negative things about this company. They are the worst! DO NOT buy anything from this company!
Purchased a microscope in mid-November for approximately $90. Realized granddaughter already had one. Returned and they received just before Christmas. It is now January 30 and I have yet to receive the credit on my credit card. Talked to their CS Dept twice. Lots of excuses. It should not take 5 weeks to get a credit for a purchase. I will never order from this company again.
Very upset with customer service from here. I've been dealing with a broken you they sent me since December 2019. Kept getting another delivery date for replacement. Then today a letter saying no longer available. It is an terrible letter

Their phone customer service is as worth while as listening to a dial tone. Push the directed options and nothing happens, the operator ignores the option pushed, keeps talking and then repeats the instructions before disconnecting. I was charge for an entire order but didn't receive a $130 item. Nothing to tell me back ordered, etc. Worthless!
I purchased a gift for my nephew with a delivery date "by 12/17/20". I didn't get a tracking email until 12/20 that says it will be delivered by 12/27. That leaves my nephew in bad shape for his Christmas celebration. I called them prior to 12/17 to get a status and was on hold for 42 minutes before giving up. I emailed and got a response several days later saying that they needed to verify the shipping address (which was very clear from the start) and they never responded again. I paid over $14 for shipping on a toy.
Also, I clicked a button to get more info on getting "free shipping" and it automatically enrolled me in a $14.95/month commitment, which I definitely did not want. I had to call them to cancel that, which took quite some time as well.
I strongly advise to avoid this company as there are many who provide quality products, better prices and good service.

On December 8, I placed an order for my grandchildren for Christmas. Plenty of time - right? Apparently not. Have been tracking order and was suppose to b here today, December 23, cutting it close, but oh well. Got an update on order, now won't receive until December 26. Should have stuck with amazon. Will never order from Young Explorer again. Now tomorrow i will drive 75 miles to nearest shopping to hopefully find gifts for my grand boys.
This is by far the worse business out there. Customer service is horrible. They don't deliver on time or even let you known that the item you want is on back order for ten weeks until you get tired of waiting and contact their off shore customer service. I would urge everyone to look elsewhere for your needs.
Ordered a camera for our grandsons birthday. Payed what I thought was a high standard shipping of $11.99, then $14.95 more for two day FedEx. A total $26.94 on a $60 item. When it did not arrive in two days, called and they said it would be 5 instead! They didn't care that I paid for two day. I then had to pay for another complete order shipped directly to our grandson as we were to be there when the gift arrived at our home.
They directed me to return the original for credit using the return label in the box. Of course to complete the saga, they entire label and return form were 100% blank. Then he said just mail it to them and they would return my postage.
In the days of excellent on line shipping this is an expensive disaster! Will never, ever buy from them and suggest you don't either.
This is the second time I have attempted to buy anything from these people. The first time, it was the birthday of my grand children, they never delivered and after many attempts to call them they finally told me the item I had bought was out of stock. Now again the items I bought never arrived. After many calls I finally got a letter saying my address does not match my card. Crazy. They are awful. So far I have been on the phone over 20 minutes with no response.
A real horses rear end operation. Returned 2 items in Nov. Have UPS tracking to prove it. They said 6 weeks for refund. Now 4 months. Called and was disconnected. Called back and was told they cannot figure out what was returned even though all their papers were filled out and submitted with returned items. Have to talk to level 2 customer service who is only open about 7 hours a day.
Ordered toy for grandson and without knowing or authorization was signed up for a savings club which got you nothing but a recurring monthly bill for $14 or $15 per month. Do not buy from this company!
I sent an internet order, order confirmation arrived, then I received a mail saying the items had been shipped (with no tracking number) and after a week I called and they told me first they were waiting for my confirmed address before shipping, then that one of three items was not available, then that the remaining orders were going to be rushed for me (their version of rushed orders is 5-8 business days!). I cancelled the whole order and I do not want to buy from them ever again.
Two under water cameras were purchased from Youngexplorers.com. They had posted that the cameras received several awards which simply cannot be true. My child took several pictures with the camera just in our house and out of the water proof case and then wanted to put them on the computer to view them. After seeing that the pictures were unrecognizable I took a few. Pictures thinking my child was maybe running and taking them. After loading them onto the computer and finding still that you could not even make out what I took a picture of I packaged it back up and contacted the company. A product this bad should warrant free return shipping since I already wasted money having it shipped to me. Two emails later I had still not heard from the company. Not one word. I do not recommend ever purchasing from them. I learned my lesson!

5. Paying for 2 day shipping means 5 or 6 days to them. Agent
Said they don't count the day of the order, they don't
Count Saturdays and they don't count Sundays. But they do
Collect and keep your money.
The products I ordered are also available on Amazon. Do yourself a favor and order them there.
I had ordered two items. I got them and they were fine. But I wrote the customer service and asked them let me know of the status after 2 weeks, as I needed them the following weekend. No one ever responded. There was no follow up email from customer service or anything else to update me for the status of the shipment. The items were as promised, nothing more, nothing less. A shame that their customer service doesn't care.
I called three different days and got three different answers when calling the customer service for Young Explorers which out sources this department. Info ranged from half your order is back logged until February, to I'll ship the whole order today, which didn't happen, to I'll ship it right out. I thought kiss those items and money goodby especially after reading negative reviews. However, they arrived even a day early. Nice things just like in the catalogue. I couldn't believe it. I think my persistant calling to check and press forward on the order worked. So I talked to three different people but success. I gave 4 stars because of the changing stories but I am satisfied although it was stressful as these were Christmas presents.
I ordered three 4-in-1 Party Mic Is an Invitation for Fun for my granddaughters for Christmas. BEST GIFT EVER! They actually work. They do all the things that was listed in the description of the product and works very well. My granddaughters ages are 12,11, and 8. I would definitely recommend this product.
