If you need your order within 5 days, I strongly recommend purchasing elsewhere. I placed a recent order, the website advertised a 2 day shipping option, but it would not let me choose that at check out. I contacted CS to place the order with them, paid a hella high price for their 'standard' shipping, ($29) with an additional $15 fee for "2 Day Express" delivery. My order was processed same day, but not sent to FedEx until 2 days later, with the 'express' information apparently omitted, as FedEx had it as 'standard', and I'm still waiting on delivery 6 days after the fact. Young Explorers are running a shipping scam.
DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY! Ordered a toy for a Christmas gift from this company in Dec 2021. They took my credit card info and signed me up for a recurring charge of $16.30 per month without my authorization. There is no way to log into your account on their website and cancel membership or remove credit card info. Customer service was very rude, kept interrupting me when I was trying to explain and ask for refund for the two months I was charged. Supposed to receive my refund within 2-7 business days, but she couldn't tell me how much the credits would be or to which credit card it would be refunded to. We'll see if I actually receive my refunds. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY!
I left items in my cart after deciding the total cost for those items was too high. (I get free shipping with Amazon purchases and decided I could find something similar to the items w/o S&H fees.) I then received an email offering 15% off and free shipping and handling if I ordered within 24 hours. I decided since I would not have to pay S&H AND would get 15% off of my purchase, to move forward with the purchase. After seeing the confirmation email, it showed a S&H charge was charged. I contacted customer support and was advised that this was a carrier imposed fee, not shipping and handling fee. I told the representative that it clearly states shipping and handling next to the charge. She advised me that the website says a carrier charge may be applied and was sorry I did not see that.( As if I would have known what that was anyway!) So I guess when they offer you free shipping and handling, they simply move that charge under a different heading on their end, but it still shows up as shipping and handling on my end. I purchased these items because of the "deal" that was offered to get me to come back and complete the sale. Because the item has shipped I was not able to cancel the order and the charge was not removed. This to me is bait and switch and I will pursue it further even though the S&H charge is minimal. The dollar amount is not the point. I don't appreciate the shady tactics used to get me to return to my cart to complete the purchase. I surely don't have high hopes that the items will be a good quality given the way this company is operating.

I placed an order of over $300.00. I bank account was charged 3 times with 3 different prices of over $300.00. Called Customer Service which a JOKE. Telling me that they just have to hold my money until they confirm that my account is trusted. Are you kidding me right now?! It was evident that they charged me 3 times for the same order. I wanted my order cancelled, but these foreign workers, who are either playing me, or have an IQ of 0, did not cancel my order(s). Finally after speaking to several customer service reps, my order has been duplicated as I was charged. I would have to wait to receive these duplicate orders, and then ship them back to them, then Lord only knows how long before I get reimbursed! Also, they advertise on their web site to visit the FED EX site to get free shipment for my return. Another FRAUDULANT claim toward this company...I am beyond furious...I will NEVER shop this company again...Nor do I recommend them to anyone! And my rating is a ZERO STAR...they make you press a star in order for our review to post.

Absolutely the worst company I have ever deal with. Ordered 2 items on Nov. 26 and received confirmation and an order number. After nothing happen for 2 weeks I contacted them via there contact e-mail address. After a couple weeks I got an automated response says they are busy so please have patience, but with no concrete information about my order. My granddaughter's birthday and Xmas came and went. I checked the status of my order frequently and it always said "In process". Early in Jan I checked the company website and it said one of the items I had order was not available. They never contacted me to tell me this. On Jan 12 I received an email that my order had shipped via FEDEX. Going to the tracking function I learned that it had shipped 4 days before, and was scheduled to arrive on Jan 12, which it did. The product, an off road stunt buggy is the flimsiest piece of junk to come out of China. The package this came in weighed about 2 lbs. and they charged 26.99 shipped from NJ to Vermont. $26.99 was the stated shipping charge for both items when I order them. The second item was substantially larger and heavier. My only advice "STAY AWAY FROM YOUNG EXPLORERS!

I should of read the reviews before ordering my product. I ordered a robot dog on November 21st and was told by email it was shipped on December 2nd... 11 days after I placed my order! When I received the tracking number to check my package, the package could not be found. I called customer service twice and got the same message that package was sent. The company had no problem taking my money out of my account. This company should not be in business! DO NO USE THIS COMPANY... GOOGLE SHOULD TAKE THEM OFF THE SEARCH.
I placed an order on December 2nd and still have yet to receive it. I called other 9th and was told that the order will ship today. Here it is two days later and it still hasn't shipped. I called and requested a ship date as well as a delivery date. They told me that they can't give either. The items are processed and ready to ship, they'll ship out when they do. I spoke with a manager and he transferred me to someone in corporate since I requested that my order be canceled and a full refund placed. The woman that I spoke with was Maria and she was very unprofessional. She cussed me out and told me that if I want to cancel my order do it myself. I explained that was I was doing. So she cussed me out some more then hung up on me. I will never order from here again. They're CSR department is in the Philippines, but they said that the warehouse is in Massachusetts. These are Christmas presents and unfortunately I don't think that they will be here for my son to enjoy.
DO NOT BUY from this company. Ordered a birthday gift for grandkids and called customer service to change a delivery address and make sure it would get there for a Sat. party... CS agent informed me they do not deliver on the weekend so I changed shipping to Overnight and they charged me extra. THEY DID NOT DELIVER OVERNIGHT WHICH I PAID FOR- MISSED GRANDKIDS PARTY!! DELIVERED 5 DAYS AFTER I ORDERED. I called and they processed a refund for shipping... we will see how that turns out.
I bought 2 Christmas gifts from here on the same order and now they charge me a $14.95 "VIP" membership charge EVERY SINGLE MONTH- no matter how many times I call to get it reversed and ask them to stop charging me! They say every time they will stop charging me and now I'm on my 5th month of calling to get it reversed. Horrible customer service.
I ordered 3 items online for my granddaughter from Young Explorers on July 11,2020. I received an email on July 17th stating the items had been shipped. So far, so good. The good part ends here!
Today, July 27th, I tried to track the package. There is no way to track packages. You are simply thrown back to your order form saying the items have been shipped. So I emailed customer service. I immediately received an answer saying my entire order had been put on hold "to verify the billing address." I then called them and asked why they never notified me of the billing address issue (BTW, my billing address was completely correct) and why did I receive an email 10 DAYS AGO that stated my items had shipped. Had they shipped, as their email stated or not?! After several conflicting responses, it became clear that they never shipped my grandchild's gifts, and never notified me of an issue. The only way I found out about any of this was because I reached out to see where the package was. This is not a company deserving of anyone's business! I cancelled the order! I will NEVER shop with Young Explorers again.
On hold for 34 minutes to customer service. The website states 3-5 day delivery. Talked to Customer Service Rep and he says it states 7 to 10 days delivery. I will NEVER do business with them again.
My order has still not arrived. I have called customer service twice already which has you on hold forever. And yet my item still has not shipped in over 10 days since the order was placed.
I ordered almost $800 of presents from this company for Christmas presents on Dec. 5. Yesterday, March 7, I received the last of my order. I will never order from them again. They do not care that they are so delayed in sending anything. They take your money and send your items whenever they feel like it. They actually sent me an email Feb 28 to tell me my order was delayed and if they don't hear back from me within 30 days, they will cancel the order.
Cheaply made products from China and they charge you a small fortune for their junk as well as don't send you things on time or even give you an indication that they will not be sending anything for MONTHS. Colorful, bright catalogs come in the mail and the kids get caught up on that. Never again will I give them a dime of money for their toys. Their lack of customer care is unacceptable.
I wanted to rate this no stars but you can't.
Throw their catalog in the recycle bin and send their emails to spam. Save yourself the heartache of very disappointed kids.

This is THE MOST offensive business in operation -- SCUMBAGS trying to steal money from parents buying crappy toys for their children. They should be totally ashamed of themselves. They are not. They think that if you are dumb enough to give them your credit card number, then you deserve to be stolen from. If you agree to sign up to receive promotional emails from them, they will give you a $4 discount on shipping for that one order -- AND THEN THEY CHARGE YOUR CREDIT CARD $15 EACH MONTH FOR BEING A "VIP" MEMBER. To these scumbags -- "VIP" means "SUCKER". They force you to dispute the charge and cancel your credit card because as soon as you dispute the charge with them, they charge your credit card another $14.95.
I placed an order and they sent me the completely wrong order. It took over 3 days to fix for now. Before I placed the order they wanted my credit card number. Will never order from them again.
WORST COMPANY EVER! Placed an order on 12/4/14. I called the company on 12/20/14 to question when my order had shipped and why the tracking number I was emailed wasn't tracking the package. The "customer service" representative replied that "she did not know where my order was and that they did not activate tracking numbers." (WHAT?!) I finally received my order on 12/23/14. And turns out, one of the MAIN presents I had purchased had been substituted with an item at the company's discretion. There was no contact from the company or adjustment in price difference ($50.), I had to call and wait on hold to speak to one of their oh-so-friendly "customer service" representatives. Save yourself a major headache and DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY.
I thought Young Explorers was a legit company when I they mailed a catalog to me. I ordered a pair of walkie talkies from the catalog for a present. The ones that were mailed to me were not the same as the photo in the catalog (or the online web site). When I did an online search for a similar product from other sources I found the ones that were (incorrectly) sent to me listed as substantially lower cost than the pair that I paid for. I also found the same photo as the one listed in the catalog in another source for a similar price that I paid. I was sent a much lower quality (and cost) product than the one that advertised. There was no packing form in the box for me to follow directions for a return - I called their customer service, and finally (after lots of problems understanding the woman on the phone) she gave me an address to return the incorrect items. The shipping is going to cost me a great deal, because I'm going to make certain there is proof that I mailed the item back. I'm waiting to see if the amount is refunded or if I'll have to put in a fraud claim to my credit card.
I ordered a gift for my grandson for Christmas. I ordered on the 6th and today's the 22nd. The site promises the item by Christmas and after couple messages with customer service, I was told I'd get it. Hmmm my credit card hasn't been charged, no shipment info no nothing. I recently bought an item for $60. We decided to return and was told I had to pay all shipping costs. It will cost $30 to return. Terrible return policy!
Do NOT order from this company! I placed an order on April 4,2020 (6 items for my grandson's birthday), received an email saying the items shipped on April 14 - they have still not been received on May 4! To make it worse, Young Explorers has hired an offshore answering service to keep taking phone orders, even though they have no intention of shipping the items. I have emailed and called Customer Service three times each, with phone wait times of 45 to 52 minutes every time! One of the operators finally admitted to me Customer Service was completely closed, they were just an answering service and couldn't help with orders. I understand a business interruption during a pandemic (I'm working remotely from home), but that's not what this is - they have no intention of fulfilling orders. I'm crushed my gifts weren't delivered for my grandson's birthday (April 25), even though I ordered them 3 weeks in advance. If you want to buy gifts for a birthday or other special event for a child this is NOT the place to order them - you will never receive your order!
I wish I'd seen this website before buying a remote-controlled crane for my grandson last October. When it was opened at Christmas, I asked how it was and my son said unfortunately it was an (expensive) piece of junk. The remote had to be held really close to the crane to work at all, and the buttons on the remote were cheap plastic and had to be pushed many times to work, not easy for a child to do, and most likely due to break. There was no "return label" with the crane, so I called the company about returning it for a refund as per their "No Nonsense Guarantee" which unconditionally gives refunds. I have called Customer Service MANY times over SEVERAL months, always getting the polite answer that it would be taken care of that day. We actually sent the crane back at our own expense (they promised to repay us), and it was received over a month ago, but no refund has showed up. I hope this review will help other people from getting "taken" by this untrustworthy, unreliable, and ripoff of a business!

Young Explorers' website states: "Creative educational toys that allow children to learn and explore through play." Yet the most recent catalogue we received featured toys like: (1) "Stop the Alien Invasion" where kids have to "[a]im and zap with the infrared gun to vaporize the aliens" (for ages 6+); (2) "Zap the Zombie in His Tracks" where kids are told to "[s]core 9 hits in 30 seconds" to defeat aliens -- "but just pop his arms back on, and he's ready for another game!" (for ages 3+); and (3) "Topple the T-Rex in His Tracks" where kids are similarly told -- "[S]core 9 hits in 30 seconds, down he goes-ready to rise again for another fun game!"(for ages 3+). What exactly are they teaching kids? And how do kids 3 years of age know how to discern between real/fake guns and the reasons and purposes for using guns? I am personally APPALLED that they would feature such THOUGHTLESS toys - especially in this day and age. Young Explorers should be ashamed of themselves for promoting these products.
Here's how it works. You go buy a kids toy. During checkout, they will ask if you want something like 10% off or something like that. Most people won't read the fine print. Embedded in the fine print is that they will charge you 14.95 EVERY Month for a VIP subscription service that basically does NOTHING.
They basically hope that the people take awhile before noticing the charge on their CC's.
I talked to a nice lady in customer service and she said 75% of the calls she takes every day is people who are being preyed on with these 14.95 charges. If you call them, you will get 4 months back. Once you escalate, you will get 2 months more back. The remainder, call your credit card company to file a complaint and you will get the remainder back (after awhile). I can't believe a company who sells KIDS TOYS employs predatory subscription pricing. I will be filing an official complaint to the BBB.
Do a google search on YNG EXPLRS VIP and you will find scores of angry people who have gone through this ridiculous scam.
Worst customer service ever. It's now 03/13/17 and still no response. Please shop elsewhere. I have sent 3 emails since 12/22/16 and nothing.
