“Best of a bad bunch”

rm s.
2/12/18

All of the real estate referrals for rentals, Vacation homes, and furnished apartments are extraordinarily expensive for what you get. In almost all cases tenants pay between six and 18% premium plus a 2 1/2% deduction for Credit card payments after the property owner pays $400 to advertise on their site. Zillow is the last of the free sites that operates just like a classified advertisement. So save yourself 10% on every vacation booking I'm getting contact with the owners directly via Zillow

“Becoming a Zillow premier agent”

David C.
7/25/24

We became Zillow Premier agents 5/29/24. Our first experience was a showing "no show," that was double booked with another Zillow agent, at the same property, 30 minutes prior. Agent support could not explain how this could happen. We agreed to paying $800/month for 4 leads who Zillow said would be verified pre-screened, pre-qualified leads that are ready to buy and are requesting to book appointments. This lead counted as one. With multiple calls, emails, and an escalation to supervisors, Zillow still has no explanation how this happened. They have now credited $250.00 for this one lead. In 2 months, we have had 2 bookings, both no shows. 2 calls were customers who already have agents, 2 calls were customers who requested to speak with listing agent only, 1 who pushed button to speak with for sale by owner, and none who were pre-qualified or ready to buy. In addition, we had multiple messages that we had missed a Zillow connection call, though our phones did not ring. We connected two phones to our account to ensure that we didn't miss calls and troubleshooted re-uploading app, resetting phone options, etc. and could still not answer calls once they did ring. Each of these went against our answer % rate and showed as missed or declined. When we received other calls they repeatedly failed to connect though we answered every time. We reported this multiple times through calls and emails and requested a refund. Agent support assured us that they were working to resolve and app was being updated and problem was being reported to their engineers then committed to follow up but would not return calls nor have ever provided compensation. Each failed lead was a missed opportunity to connect with a potential client which is impossible to put a price on. None of this was due to our phone system or lack of understanding how to answer. Our phone works perfectly for our other leads and clients every other day. Our phones are our business. We looked at a lot of reviews on other platforms and now realize how bad it is. We wanted to do this review to help any other agents thinking of become a premier agent. Don't waste your money it's a scam. Sent from Mail for Windows

I just canceled my account with Zillow.
Zillow is a BIG scam, all they want to get Money Money Money from the agents.
They change their rules by going with impressions and changing after to a zip code percentage whatever it suitable for them, because I think it helps them to get more profit.
Zillow pread this poor lead to 4 agents and you have to fight for it, and by the way their leads most of the time are not real or dont exist.
They don't keep their promises. I have a horrible conversation explaining them what they had promised me and they did ONLY for a while, instead doing it for good. Scam! Lie!
When I spoke with a representative, she put me kind of down by saying several times that I am the last agent in line of the agent for my zip code, that I had only 2 sales and keep insisting me to spend more money to buy a zip code percentage or change a zip code. I am very upset, kind of angry that they put me down.

We recently sold our Condo in Elmwood Park, NJ. David Snyde was our agent/broker. David was extremely helpful with staging the unit, conducting open houses and all the details for the sale. We were able to sell the Condo in a timely manner. I highly recommend you speak with David about your real estate needs, His website is www.davidrealty1.com

As a real estate marketplace, zillow has muscled itself into the consumers' "must-have" wishlist when it comes to buying or selling real estate.
Why is not completely clear to me as pro, as major issues plague the site:
1. Inaccurate pricing - the stats are scary
2. Inaccurate property details
3. The worst: ZERO response rate from customer service, to consumer and professional inquiries alike.
4. Lead generation methods make the inquiry form next to a property NOT go to the listing agent but a totally different "premier" paying agent. Worse: the "Call" button on zillows mobile app or page does not lead to the FSBO seller or listing agent, but again to a paying "premier" agent.
All this, folks, is to benefit only Zillow. And Realtors as well as consumers agree to it, every day. Baffling.

Zillow SUCKS the life blood out of the your real estate investment. They told me their Zestimator is on a scale of 1 - 5 (one being the worst area for the Zestimator to appraise), happens that my home is in an area 1 and they just slashed 50% of my home value overnight. Where the hell is the law in this country of ours? Is there any law left to protect people? I will never buy a home again as long as I live.

So Zillow, have you gotten rich enough making the rest of us poor? Maybe now you can take your filthy stinky money and buy and Island somewhere and take down the site that destroyed the AMERICAN dream and turned it into the American NIGHTMARE?

No not yet? OK maybe prison sounds better than spending the money you earned destroying the Real Estate Market? Keep at it, you will be taken down!

I have no problem with aggregators in real estate. They can serve a positive purpose in the business. I do have a problem with Zillow and its errors. I have a problem not mentioned by others. The Zillow map is inaccurate. My town's map doesn't include about 1/3 of the town. We've complained to Zillow and their response has been to admit their map is wrong but they won't fix it for another four months. When people use the site they never have a chance to see properties in the omitted section of town. If Zillow was seriously responsible, they would correct the map now. Every real estate professional in town knows that sellers are being damaged by Zillow with their faulty Zestimates but not everyone knows sellers are being damaged by the map problem. It is pure arrogance on Zillow's part to admit they have a problem with their map but refuse to fix it for several months.

Over priced, coc-ky, ego centric a-holes. They have no concept of reality when it comes to their product. They are over priced and once you spend the one and they lock you in the contract they could care less about you... It's on to the next one, to keep the commissions rolling in. Shame on you Zillow. If you keep burning your customers, you won't have their loyalty for long.

I moved in to my new home in 02/2016. L In 06/2017, I wrote in to ask that my house be added. I never got a response even though I followed up. I just finally wrote in again in 03/2018 and was told that I cannot have it added, that it only comes through some (undefined) third party feed. Their other problem is that use Bing.com instead of Google maps. The street names aren't right in my community and my house isn't even on the map yet. Way to go Bing, way to go, Zillow.

Zillow is completely useless, unless you are a realtor. I own a couple properties in a high rise, and listed one for rent. I am not a realtor, but I thought the site might be helpful. On the day that I listed one unit for Rent (October 1,2013), the "zestimate" was $272,000, and the rental zestimate was at $1900. Today is November 18,2013, and my condo "zestimate" is now 206,000 and the rental zestimate is 1671. The housing market has improved in my area over the past 2 months, and comps for the unit in question have sold for mid 260's this month (exact same floor plan, 3 floor above and 3 floors below). I did send an email complaining to zillow about why my property value has dropped significantly. I received a canned response stating that zillow evaluated based on comps. Of course, since I'm not a realtor, this site has artificially tanked my property value. Now, I disclaimed ownership of the condo, and noted that it just sold for $5,000,000. Let's see how zillow reacts to that.

It is simple: take the list price, then put a value of between 2 to 5 percent less on the property. How did I find out? The zestimate was about 4 percent below the listing price. When I reduced the listing price by 10 percent, Zillow simply reduced the zestimate by 10 percent. Here you have.

There should be a law prohibiting zillow from posting any kind of estimates. They are not a legal estimating company. They aren't licensed to make a legitimate estimate. They make slanderous estimates, meaning they are totally wrong.

Tip for consumers:
Stay away from Zillow.com

Their unwanted ads pop up in my inbox thru GO SMS text app almost every day. I have made repeated requests to them to stop, but the ads just keep coming. They are an unscrupulous company and you'd have to be crazy to have anything to do with them. I'll just keep telling people in every forum I can find until the harassment stops. DO NOT USE ZILLOW!

I thought zillow.com was a good website until I reviewed one of their agents with a one star review, a couple of days after the review the actually rejected my review, that is dishonest business conduct, there are other sites that are far better and more honest then zillow toward the public, and if you see those 5 star rating posted on the zillow I tell you it is nothing then BS and I have the emails to prove the case, Zillow shame on you I will never ever use you site again.

I placed my house FSBO on Zillow. They are reporting to me that my house is doing good, 0ver 2500 hits in 17 days, 26 saves, and #3 in search out of 19 houses in the area. I stated no need in real estate broker, however, all the calls I get are from the real estate brokers. It is evident that all that Zillow is providing is a leads to the brokers in the area that want 6% commission. Contacted Zillow but no solution offered. I think that if you are posting "for sale by owner" all the inquiries should be directed to the owner only, not the brokers that have no information about the house,

Once our house sold all communications stopped. Yes Merrill did check our house when out of town. The culmination as when we sold our house in Chandler and spoke to merrill advising we must stop back to pick up a few personal belongings. Nothing was stated once recoding done you can't go back. Upon returning to our house to get a few personal belongings buyers parents who are also realtors threatened my wife with calling police swore at Janice and threw our medication and a few things on the garage floor. Yes the house was recorded; normal people don't act in this irrational manner. Speaking with merrills wife during the chaos nobody from relavation realty went to our house to diffuse the situation because it boils down to selling the house our agent no longer cared and we were no longer sources or revenue to Merrill Jencks.

Just checked my so called Zillow estimate of my house. They have it listed for $174K which in my own eyes is way to low. I had it appraised 6 months ago from an appraiser from Phoenix and the literally appraised it at $179k. I finally decided to try to refinance it one more time from a local appraiser and they came back at $210k. A good advice to take away from this is to get or request a local Appraiser. They know the area better and could give you a better idea. Out of town have to many houses to appraise and will not take their time on your house. I hope this works.

Zillow does not give accurate reviews of lenders. If you had a bad experience with a lender as I did with First Federal Bank of Kansas City, MO then you do not use the bank as a result of the bad experience, then Zillow tells you they won't use your review because you did not get locked into a contract with the bank. Well thank goodness my review did not qualify! I suspect Zillow may recieve monetary compensation for good reviews and that they post good reviews about banks that are written by the bank.

I made a huge mistale when I used Zillow to finance my home loan. They had 45 days to close a loan and even on the last day we were signing addendums and documents to close the loan. They didn't even send the funding to the title company in time and it took an extra 24 hours to record the loan while still waiting on the funding. Do not use the amateurs, they are the worst representatives of the real estate industry I have ever encountered. Remember Countrywide, these people are the new copy of the old scheme.

Erroneous and non-factual valuations. My home just dropped 30k in the last 60 days (12%). Their Zestimate history now has changed and shows the current Zestimate as the highest in 5 years. Previous Zestimates from as recent as 2 days ago which was 9k higher (yes, I dropped 9k in 2 days) is not shown on the graph. They are a total joke and should be put out of business. Harmful in many ways to the buying public. Banks do not recognize Zestimates as credible for loan purposes. This company needs sued big time!

Zillow is a joke. Put your house on yourself and all you will get are calls from agents. Watch your listing data change to incorrect information about the property and no one will help you fix it. All data is outdated and the Zestimate should be regulated because it's incorrect and another lie. Zillow is absolutely the worst run site comparable to the likes of Craigslist. Just another example of the lowering of service and promises not kept all wrapped up to look pretty. If you are considering using Zillow I would warn you you will be very disappointed. They are a joke! If you use Zilow the joke will be on you. If you don't believe me try to call Zillow.

The history of zestimates is changed based on the algorithims. I would think that they would adjust new prices, but they should not retroactively change their own historical zestimates. It is very misleading.

Three yrs. Go I was new to Pittsburgh, PA, and happened upon Kim Davis from the NORTH WOOD agency in Allison Park. She'll put you at ease as you traverse the piles of forms. Not once did I feel skeptical of her advice, and in the ensuing 3 years all has been well. We continue to touch base about market conditions as my 3 millenials are approaching home ownership, and I could conceivably downsize due to aging. She is knowedgeable, honest and extremely pleasant to work with.
