Zillow has a rating of 1.5 stars from 582 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers complaining about Zillow most frequently mention real estate, customer service, and home value problems. Zillow ranks 1312th among Real Estate sites.
All of the real estate referrals for rentals, Vacation homes, and furnished apartments are extraordinarily expensive for what you get. In almost all cases tenants pay between six and 18% premium plus a 2 1/2% deduction for Credit card payments after the property owner pays $400 to advertise on their site. Zillow is the last of the free sites that operates just like a classified advertisement. So save yourself 10% on every vacation booking I'm getting contact with the owners directly via Zillow
We became Zillow Premier agents 5/29/24. Our first experience was a showing "no show," that was double booked with another Zillow agent, at the same property, 30 minutes prior. Agent support could not explain how this could happen. We agreed to paying $800/month for 4 leads who Zillow said would be verified pre-screened, pre-qualified leads that are ready to buy and are requesting to book appointments. This lead counted as one. With multiple calls, emails, and an escalation to supervisors, Zillow still has no explanation how this happened. They have now credited $250.00 for this one lead. In 2 months, we have had 2 bookings, both no shows. 2 calls were customers who already have agents, 2 calls were customers who requested to speak with listing agent only, 1 who pushed button to speak with for sale by owner, and none who were pre-qualified or ready to buy. In addition, we had multiple messages that we had missed a Zillow connection call, though our phones did not ring. We connected two phones to our account to ensure that we didn't miss calls and troubleshooted re-uploading app, resetting phone options, etc. and could still not answer calls once they did ring. Each of these went against our answer % rate and showed as missed or declined. When we received other calls they repeatedly failed to connect though we answered every time. We reported this multiple times through calls and emails and requested a refund. Agent support assured us that they were working to resolve and app was being updated and problem was being reported to their engineers then committed to follow up but would not return calls nor have ever provided compensation. Each failed lead was a missed opportunity to connect with a potential client which is impossible to put a price on. None of this was due to our phone system or lack of understanding how to answer. Our phone works perfectly for our other leads and clients every other day. Our phones are our business. We looked at a lot of reviews on other platforms and now realize how bad it is. We wanted to do this review to help any other agents thinking of become a premier agent. Don't waste your money it's a scam. Sent from Mail for Windows
There are A LOT of lazy real estate agents on Zillow. I would never contract with an agent that doesn't take the time to take pics or takes dark or lousy pics. If a Zillow listing does not have pics, I (and many others) will not even consider the property and will move to the next. Also, the lazy agents don't take the time to describe the home and instead say something like agent, see notes. What good does that do the average home shopper that doesn't have an agent yet? If there is a HOA fee or lot rent fee, Zillow always avoids revealing this info even though it is significant toward the true price of the home. And if you try to look for a house in FL, you will have to go through thousands of manufactured homes that lazy real estate agents should have listed in manufactured home section. Lots of room for Zillow improvements.
Tip for consumers:
Be prepared to spend 3x as much time as you have to because Zillow doesn't make agents do their job, eg, correctly classify their listings, add pics, provide complete description including add ons like mello roos, lot rent, HOA fees, etc.

It is a MLS site.
I set up at tour date. They had computer contact me. Then they had a computer call me. I don't talk to computer so I hung up. Someone who was not in the area called me she was on the other side of the state. Express my concerns they were more concerned about selling. I felt like I was the monkey in the middle. I told the computer,I would get my own realtor
Nella who works as an agent for Remax is one of the best out there today. She has over 27 years of experience and it is very apparent in how she handles her business. She is also professional and trustworthy. Those are excellent qualities for a real estate agent to have. We recommend her highly to anyone searching for a home in the Middlesex area of NJ.
Zillow has stolen $500 from me by getting my debit card information without my consent, I never gave them my new debit card information, they have found a way to hack me and get it somehow. Until this day I have never received my refund and they have contemplated a way to prove that what they did is legal. Each "customer care" agent working ofr zillow are just trying to make commission out your zip code purchase. Please do not fall for the zillow premier agent. AVOID THIS!
My house was listed as being in a different ( very low ranking) school district. People have actually refused to view my house because of this. I have contacted Zillow repeatedly to have this corrected. They have admitted their mistake but say they are not able to make any changes to my listing for at least a month until their next system upgrade.
Tip for consumers:
Run away. Try realtor.com instead
They have allowed several New York City apt rental postings that have my phone number listed for contact - in the Seattle area. People call me wanting rental info, but so far no one has awakened me with a call from NY as we're 3 hours behind NY. Of course I tell them someone is committing fraud against me and it is allowed by zillow. Zillow security is a joke and I now need to be concerned about identity theft because of my info out there for the world to see.
I don't know where this site gets its information but my home was listed on here in foreclosure. I built and own my home and it has NEVER been in foreclosure. I have never even made a late payment. I am from a small town and was contacted by a friend wanting to know why my house was foreclosed. I was furious to find my home with pictures appraisal information and tax records posted on here! I wonder how many other properties are listed that should not be on here?
Prices are inflated. I contacted a realtor and tried to confirm the price that was listed. They were unable to confirm it for me but referred me to a realtor in the area who never actually got back to me. I attempted this more than one time. Buyer beware.the one thing we did figure out is prices were inflated and the pictures do not truly represent some of the houses they were showing online
Tip for consumers:
Do your research. Check other realtors

Zillow is one of the worst companies out there. They allow someone to post a review with wildly false and inaccurate information about someone with no way to verify the validity of the review. There is also no way to contact Zillow other than an 800 number where you have to leave a message and no one ever calls you back. It's left me no option other than the file a lawsuit against Zillow and it's executive leadership team for slander, libel and defamation of character. I would never use Zillow or trust any information posted on or by there sites.
The program did not produce any good leads in six months contract, very few inquiries on mobile homes and BMRs, no real leads. Subscribers phone numbers and invoice number are not recognized by automated customer service messages. They also illegally debited bank for the 7th month and refused to refund. Do not spend a dime here.

Took more than 10 calls over a week to talk to a real person

Our agent, Edward Zamarripa did an outstanding job selling our home. He kept
Us informed at all times of the process, during a difficult time. Mr. Zamarripa,
Was very professional and I would highly recommend this real estate agent.
Although it's far from perfect, Zillow lists most homes for sale or rent all over the country. You can even see recent sales without going through the hassle of finding an area's property records. Not all of the information is 100% accurate, but it's a great way to view hundreds of properties online without signing up with a real estate company. Often those agencies request a telephone number and send annoying emails. Again, I wouldn't rely on it for accurate estimates, since it gets information from other sources, but overall it's a wonderful way to get an idea of the current market in multiple areas and find a real estate agent if desired.
Took a while to learn the truth about zillow;
The contact manes you receive/ are referred to are bot names and only refer you to a random person somewhere in their network knowing exactly nothing about the area or home you are interested in.
But what is worse is the fact website updates of sales/ contingencies/ offers/ contracts never occur.
A week of phone tag revealed 3 of the properties I was inquiring on (in the same town) were already sold or under contract.
Don't waste your time with these clowns, they make their money "clik-bait" style and never produce anything of value.
1 star only because "0" is not an option.
Submitted offer and earnest money on home (that was listed at market ie no discounted rate for any issues). Hired certified home inspector. He flagged that the foundation piers were a hazard and danger. Footing not filled with concrete, shims put in with added supports, supports used that would rust (direct contact w dirt) and... some at more than a 25% angle. He told us to run from it unless we wanted to sink (no pun intended) 20-30K into it... and we did... Zillow of course retaining the earnest. Mold was found as well.
Zillow SUCKS-search your property-it will make you laugh at how wrong the information is. At the same time, DONT update any info. Don't give the satisfaction to their "bs" sight. I would use Zillow to look at homes for sale in the area, down south, near my sister, etc. Never thought to look up my own property. When I did... HAHA-nothing was accurate! I mean NOTHING! Then searched mores homes that I know and it got even worse. Zillow needs to be shut down. The website is hurting both the buyer and the seller. Not cool Zillow. Just another way to make a buck without consideration of the parties involved. Spread the word.
I am a Realtor. At first the site worked pretty well. However, the leads have dried up, and they go to so many agents they are worthless. Deceptive sales practices make it even worse, and good luck canceling (even if they lied about how long a commitment you were entering into).
Add in to this the fact that they take their info from our hard work (getting listings), and there is good reason to avoid this site. To add insult to injury, they shut down my email I use on my business cards and have not been able to get it back up and running.
Their reps are excellent at taking your credit card number and your money. Not much else, though.
My review was rejected twice. The first time I had put names of the people I dealt with, so I figured that was why (even though they allow names when it is positive). So I took them out, and it was still rejected. They only want positive reviews. Their estimated values are never very close according to my loan officer and 3 different agents I worked with in buying my current home. Below is my rejected review.
Be aware when you sign up with them they sell your email address. Also if you use Zillow Rental manager and don't leave your address undisclosed you will have people posing as a Rental Manager's trying to rent your property out
Zestimate is the biggest mess and they can't fix it. It can be way off, by over 100 grand, and they have one excuse after another. I have a professional appraisal to prove it. Zillow is very unreliable and their data can't be trusted. Customer service ignores customers. They don't help For Sale by Owners and can cost the owner several thousands of dollars by misleading buyers. Their system gives priority by sending contact information about real estate agents instead of the owner. I have had buyers tell me they were mislead. Beware of this system it can cost buyers and sellers thousands of dollars. I wish there was an option to give them less than a 1 rating.
We signed a contract to now be charged about $10 per listing per week. As we do all of the taking of the photos and uploads and writing of copy, it has served Zillow to then have all of those images, etc.to keep their data entry updated! But now we get to sign a contract with the promise of getting exclusive rep-support (I will laugh loudly here) as our anxious to have us-sign-rep is now nowhere to be found. I've left four messages and filled out four on-line supports. The property that has been listed for one month now is NOT showing up in the maps of the area NOT displaying when someone places the street it is on, frankly only displaying on the Partners aligned. The owner is furious as he's missed the better timing for renting his home, and refuses to pay for this non-service. But we have paid for it! So perhaps if Lauren from Seattle is reading this she may give us a call! My advice if you're considering signing anything, don't do it.
Every time visit the Zillow website I leave frustrated and annoyed.
One of the worst user interfaces I've ever seen. There's just too much wrong with it to go into details.
It's interesting to browse properties and see supposed zestimates, but aside from website issues the accuracy and effects on the industry are questionable.
I don't even know where to begin. Non existent consumer support. My pictures magically disappeared about 3 weeks ago - therefore, no one is viewing my home. I have sent 3 extremely kind emails asking for help. To no avail. They have not responded. When you call the zillow "customer service" line you can't speak to someone unless you are a realtor as they are "paying" for zillow. For sale by owner leave message, which is probably an un monitored mailbox. Yep, you guessed it! No one has returned my call.
Also, zestimates are not even close to being accurate.
I can't even begin to explain how awesome Connor Mogan was! He ALWAYS took the time out to show us houses. We finally found the perfect one and he has been so helpful and made the process so easy! Highly recommend him for any of your house hunting needs
