“Best of a bad bunch”

rm s.
2/12/18

All of the real estate referrals for rentals, Vacation homes, and furnished apartments are extraordinarily expensive for what you get. In almost all cases tenants pay between six and 18% premium plus a 2 1/2% deduction for Credit card payments after the property owner pays $400 to advertise on their site. Zillow is the last of the free sites that operates just like a classified advertisement. So save yourself 10% on every vacation booking I'm getting contact with the owners directly via Zillow

“Becoming a Zillow premier agent”

David C.
7/25/24

We became Zillow Premier agents 5/29/24. Our first experience was a showing "no show," that was double booked with another Zillow agent, at the same property, 30 minutes prior. Agent support could not explain how this could happen. We agreed to paying $800/month for 4 leads who Zillow said would be verified pre-screened, pre-qualified leads that are ready to buy and are requesting to book appointments. This lead counted as one. With multiple calls, emails, and an escalation to supervisors, Zillow still has no explanation how this happened. They have now credited $250.00 for this one lead. In 2 months, we have had 2 bookings, both no shows. 2 calls were customers who already have agents, 2 calls were customers who requested to speak with listing agent only, 1 who pushed button to speak with for sale by owner, and none who were pre-qualified or ready to buy. In addition, we had multiple messages that we had missed a Zillow connection call, though our phones did not ring. We connected two phones to our account to ensure that we didn't miss calls and troubleshooted re-uploading app, resetting phone options, etc. and could still not answer calls once they did ring. Each of these went against our answer % rate and showed as missed or declined. When we received other calls they repeatedly failed to connect though we answered every time. We reported this multiple times through calls and emails and requested a refund. Agent support assured us that they were working to resolve and app was being updated and problem was being reported to their engineers then committed to follow up but would not return calls nor have ever provided compensation. Each failed lead was a missed opportunity to connect with a potential client which is impossible to put a price on. None of this was due to our phone system or lack of understanding how to answer. Our phone works perfectly for our other leads and clients every other day. Our phones are our business. We looked at a lot of reviews on other platforms and now realize how bad it is. We wanted to do this review to help any other agents thinking of become a premier agent. Don't waste your money it's a scam. Sent from Mail for Windows

I listed my home on June 21, for sale by owner. I filled out the requisite information and received an email saying I had 'claimed' my property. I was told it would take 72 hrs to process. After 72 hours I had no response. 114 hours later, I finally get a call to verify my listing. (I am happy that they verify this)

Rebecca was difficult to understand and did not appear to have the most basic real estate knowledge. She kept asking me where I submitted the listing from, over and over again (for 17 min). I answered the question, repeatedly. She refused to list my property, saying that the listing didn't match. (!?!) This continued even though the property records indicated me, as the owner with an Indiana address. The same address that a Google search would indicate owned the phone number I was talking to her on. These two searches would have taken less than 5 min. Clearly there system is screwed up.

Additionally, the information about the neighborhood, estimates etc., are not correct. I cant believe the level of incompetence and the potential loss of income I have experience in last 115 hours.

ZILLOW CAUSES INCALCULABLE DAMAGE BY THEIR COMPLETELY BOGUS ESTIMATES OF HOME VALUE. THE FACT THAT THERE IS NO WAY FOR A SELLER TO CONTEST A TERRIBLE ESTIMATE IS UNCONSCIONABLE. IF ANYONE WANTS TO START A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT AGAINST ZILLOW I WILL BE AMONG THE FIRST TO WRITE A CHECK TO SUPPORT THAT. THEIR SECRET ALGORITHM MUST HAVE BEEN DESIGNED BY PEOPLE WITH NO REAL ESTATE BACKGROUND. MY INDEPENDENT APPRAISAL BY A CERTIFIED APPRAISER WITH THIRTY YEARS EXPERIENCE IN MY AREA IS $150,000 HIGHER THAN ZILLOW. I ABHOR ZILLOW AND WOULD LIKE TO SEE THEM PUT OUT OF BUSINESS.

Tip for consumers:
DON'T BELIEVE THEIR ESTIMATES OF A HOME'S VALUE. THEY ARE ABOUT AS ACCURATE AS HURRICANE TRACK FORECASTS BY A HURRICANE "EXPERT" BASED IN COLORADO.

Posted a home on Zillow that contained NO red flags, and after 72 hours and numerous emails... NO RESPONSE!. An auto message tells you the staff is reviewing, but it is IMPOSSIBLE to reach a human for help, and it's obvious staff did NOT review the home I listed for sale or it would have been published immediately! Over 72 hours... no response... still not listed. RIDICULOUS! Customer service couldn't be worse!

We attempted to sell our home without a real estate agent using zillow.com. It was a mess from the start and one of the biggest real estate mistakes that we ever made. The information entered by the company was often incorrect and untimely posted. At a critical time, zillow delayed the listing for over a week with no explanation. Communication offered by the company was nearly non-existent and extremely inadequate. After numerous attempts of entering our contact information, prospective buyers were forced to come in person to our home and make an appointment for showings by knocking on our door, sometimes very early in the morning. When we finally received a response from a zillow employee, he indicated that "the system was having problems" with no remedy. Having lost precious time with a major financial transaction, perhaps the biggest of our lives, we were forced to list our home by another means. To this day, the final "sales price" of our home posted by zillow (without any input from us) is incorrect by $40,000. When I attempt to obtain real estate information from the zillow site now, the map feature, which is critical to my needs, doesn't function at all. In general, I find the website extremely user unfriendly to both sellers and buyers.

Tip for consumers:
Do NOT use the "for sale by owner" option on zillow as zillow exists primarily for real estate professionals and should make this very clear to unwary consumers. The company simply does not service sellers who choose to sell without a real estate professional.

Products used:
After this nightmare attempting to sell our home directly on zillow, we ended up listing our home with an agent, who didn't even bother advertising the house on zillow and sold it to the first prospect anyway. If zillow only exists for real estate professionals, as we believe, it should NOT offer any opportunities "for sale by owner" as that is ridiculously difficult to accomplish, even in an overheated seller's market.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. I advertised with Zillow for 6 months my account manager promised me I will get lots of lead and close on deals right away. Ended up spending close to $800.00 a month and covering 3 market places. Closed on no deals. Their information on Zillow is inaccurate to the consumer most of the homes I would get calls on are already sold some of their listings don't have addresses how do you work with a customer when their is no address. Their estimate is BS totally messes up the marketplace in a lot of ways. BEWARE AGENTS THEY ARE A SCAM ALL TALK NO RESULTS. LIARS

Wise buyers do not buy any property in this unrealistic market because you will be paying double for what that property is worth.
Also, Zillow.com is at the final stage of buying distressed homes left on the market and auctions to give them a cheap and superficial cosmetic work and sell them to you for twice or even more what they paid by fouling you with a low interest rate, which the Feds will no longer be able to keep it low, so you will eventually be under water with your mortgage higher interest and property taxes. Then you will be forced to give your house back to Zillow company, which will once again be selling the house you bought to another uneducated buyer.
Do yourself a favor and be a wise buyer by waiting the market dip down, which is about to happen anytime now and then go buy your house for the right price and value.
I am awaiting on such opportunity that will take place sooner than we think because recession is already here and the same crash will take place as the last one in 2007-2010, where houses were selling for their real value!
I refuse to make big real estate investors like Zillow, Redfin and others richer on the account of the hard working Americans like us!

Zillow's Mortgage quotes page had the best rates with lowest fees. Was better than what Bank Rate was showing. The lender we went with has been doing a great job so far. 5 stars!

I worked with Branch Manager Paul Bosec at Sierra Pacific Mortgage in Roseville, Ca., on refinancing my home. Not only did I get a great interest rate on my mortgage, but it was done quickly and efficiently! I am extremely pleased at how Sierra Pacific patiently helped me through all the questions and hurdles that came up during the process of my refinancing. I highly recommend Sierra Pacific Mortgage in Roseville under its present manager Paul Bosec to anyone who wishes to refinance their home with excellent professionalism and true interests in their clients and their needs.

I wrote an honest review that they kept rejecting about my realtor. It is because the realtor pays Zillow to list some houses. I would not go by any reviews of the realtors.

Zillow is a joke. Of the 12 requests to view a home I submitted, got 1 answer. It seems no one actually wants to rent their listed rental properties. Terrible waste of time.

Is there a NEGATIVE STAR option for Zillow? I am very upset with Zillow's continued misinformation on the website for the general public to view. Due to this, I lost a buying client who fired me because "I did not inform him the property was almost in foreclosure". THE PROPERTY IS NOT EVEN NEAR FORECLOSURE! However, the buyer looked up property on Zillow and was given the prompt to "get more information on this foreclosure". The property had been in foreclosure 7 years ago... BUT NOT NOW! Zillow continuously misleads the public with their old data! STOP IT!

Over a year ago I was searching for a home and called the agent who happened to be Lettie Hill. At that time, I decided I would wait and Lettie said she would follow up with me. I didn't think anything of it and to my surprise she called me the next year. I was ready to purchase! Lettie connected me to a website that sent me automatic emails on the type of home I was looking for and she called me on a regular basis. I couldn't believe it. I felt like I was her only client she had, but I was so wrong.

When I went to look at a home, she was right there. Sometimes it was during the day and others times it was night. But she was there whenever I wanted to see a home. She connected me to a WONDERFUL finance representative. When I found my home she negotiated on my behalf and truly took the lead. I am loving my new home! I was so proud to be her client. You would be too! LETTIE IS AN AWESOME AGENT!

I recently had an opportunity to attend a house inspection that was coordinated by Joyce Fritz a realtor with PMZ. I have bought and sold many homes both in California and out if state. I have dealt with many inspectors and realtors over the years. In my opinion I have never seen the expertese and care I recently experienced with Joyce and her team. Joyce thinks of everything and puts her clients at the highest priority as she would her own family. She had a team of inspectors at the house that went through the house as thoroughly as I have ever seen, and I have impeccable standards. For these reasons I can reccamend Joyce and her team without reservation. Trust me you won't be disappointed. Connie Howells

Zillow will advertise on different sites showing different Zestimate values of a home, advertising upgrades improving home values then giving a home owner a very low Zestimate for a kitchen or bath upgrade, they fill many buyers with delusions they can buy a home for half its market value and insult the home owner. Zillow review your listings, what a joke! PINHEADS

Zillow's estimate for the value of my home and property was grossly undervalued at only 59% of the asking price. They apparently didn't even consider the value of the 20 acres and all of the amenities on the property including a barn, equipment shed, three storage buildings, 600 ft. Of blacktop road leading to the house, pond, and $20,000 worth of property fencing. Zillow has no right to inacurately zestimate the value of property.

We just bought our beach home and love it. Our realtor Debbie O'Donnell with EXIT Realty worked with us for two years to find our dream home. She is AWESOME and would highly recommend her. Using Zillow helped us located homes to review with her and being that we were 200 miles away she made this process very simple along with Zillow. Thanks Debbie and Zillow

My house address changed and the "Help" from Zillow was a total joke. It's like the girl never read my email. She changed someone else's house to mine and I had to email her back and tell her to correct it. I regret doing that now. She doesn't have the knowledge to set up a site for my address so just wrote me back saying they can't do that. Ok, thank you for not being educated enough to serve rural communities where addresses have to be corrected very frequently and then blow me off and say too bad for you. HIGHLY UNPROFESSIONAL AND INCOMPETENT.

Just can't believe they want you to pay $50 per adult on an application to rent an apartment BEFORE YOU ARE ABLE TO SEE IT! If the apartment isn't up to par, doesn't fit your needs or you just don't like it DO YOU GET YOUR APPLICATION FEE BACK?!
How can you apply to rent a place WITHOUT EVER HAVING SEEN IT?
Very, very, very poor marketing! How can an apartment complex even use a service like this. A lot of open rentals I guess, and they are all paying Zillow to advertise!

Tip for consumers:
Need a 'service' category and not just 'sales' verification

Zillow.com is full of BULL$#*!. The houses they have listed on their Properties that's for sale ARE A JOKE. The pictures you see on this Website ARE NOT the current conditions of the houses. I searched the website looking for a house. I seen a nice house on the site, meet with a Realtor Agent from Zillow & the house was in very poor condition. The roof & side of the house was blew have off. No roofing & no doors windows nor siding on the house. A second house was worst than that. No hot water tank, no furnace, & no doors. They were asking $30,000 for these houses. These people are a WASTE OF TIME & FULL OF LIES.

DON'T waste your time or money advertising with Zillow. I hope America shut them down for their fraudulent activity. Zillow will allow unverified negative comments to be posted on their website if you choose not to pay for the disservice it offers. Zillow is the most untrustworthy site listed on the internet. Don't waste your time, money nor believe anything posted on ZILLOW website. Certainly don't turn to Zillow if you are looking to buy, sale or lease real property! ZILLOW SHOULD BE PERMANENTLY SHUT DOWN!

Tip for consumers:
If you have money to burn I still wouldn’t use Zillow. If the service were free I wouldn’t use Zillow. I am waiting for their website to crash and burn!

Zillow's estimates are hard to decipher, especially when an estimate for a delapidated home in an OK neighborhood in Montgomery County MD lists for more than $500K when other larger and remodeled homes around it are estimated at nearly $100K less. Same with under-estimates that are based on some arcane and not well-defined criteria that does not make sense. Why does Zillow even offer estimates when they are so far off of what the real value is, including actual home sales in the area?
