I am new to the uber world. i have a daughter in law that will be performing her rotation in texas. we live in west fort worth, tx and she will be assigned in plano, tx. there is a tremendous amount of construction in the plano area. we wanted to see if she could ride the train to plano and then call uber to get her the 3 miles she needs to travel to her location. she would obviously need this at the end of the day as well. is there anyway to set up a pick up and drop off for everyday she needs it? Answer:

Uber is extremely good for riders. A 3 mile ride in Dallas will probably cost you $4.00. It is not so good for the drivers. Especially with Uber not allowing tips.

It definitely allows this. U can cancel your scheduled trip anytime.

Answer:

Any time there is a surge your Uber apt informs you of the amount of the surge and prompts you to accept or decline the charge. You must have missed that and accepted the surge charge inadvertently.

I recently signed up but have not used uber. i like the idea that i do not have to figure out and pay the tip. i am concerned about the reviews that say rates are not standardized in any way, and price gouging is common. i would like to have a better understanding of how much rates can fluctuate and how i can know up front how much i will be charged. Answer:

You can be charged up to 9.0 times a regular rate. I was quoted a $33 estimate, and they took $285. This was a 23 minute, 13 mile ride. You do the math on that; and decide if you think it's price gouging or not.

The rating system is a joke. Some people will give you a bad rating because they are having a bad day, they think the price is too high, or they are just all around idiots.

Not personally but I prefer to use gift cards to pay for services like uber because I know many people who have been charged fraudulently. They don't seem to worry about protecting their customers data

Answer:

I think it's just driver's personal decision to charge more money for his personal benefits otherwise other cabs add night travelling charges but uber doesn't charge extra night charges. So he must have thought he can easily make some money by that.

I know you can call a car for anyone using your phone even if you're not there. You might also be able to give someone your log in info and they can log into Uber using their own phone but then they would really have total access to your account.

Answer:

Well if you've had that person as your driver before then you just go to history in your app. And that driver will be on there. You just click on that driver and you will be able to write a review and give a star rating. If you have not had that driver in the past, just email uber and ask them. They are pretty good at replying to emails quickly. I hope that helps you! :)
