I have a question: to whom are the taxes paid?
THere seems to be no where in the "contact 1st dibs" that I can ask that question. Or any question. It seems my choices are just one menu click after another. So that is very dissatisfying.
My past experience w 1st dibs is otherwise very good.
This is a fun way to make a unique vintage purchase. Not difficult.

There is a 18h century Liverpool American ship creamer on 1st dibs for $7000. The exact pitcher right down to the #15 tag on the bottom is on the New Hampshire live auctioneers for auction or buy for $3000. Look it up! Something doesn't smell right.
The shopping experience on this transaction has so far been good. I hopt that this item arrives as described. My last shopping experience was a total disappointment as the vase was was craced at the rim. Not this seller!

I bought a wallet from Lampoo a dealer for 1st dibs and they are trying to keep my money after saying they would refund my money. Now I'm fighting to get my money back. Not a 5 star company. Better off buying somewhere else online. These people are horrible. Customer service is terrible and non caring and don't expect to get a refund. It's a trap. Update... I did get a refund but I had to put up a fight...
Ok so far. Will see how it goes if offer accepted and delivery effected

It is too difficult to remove unwanted items from personal account.

Can be confusing from checking the site on different days.

Do not use this website. They are complete scammers! I bid for a pair of earrings and won the bid (paying through my paypal verified account). They proceeded to request all sorts of personal documentation and information (which given the fact that I was paying through my paypal verified account) there was absolutely no need for further information. Extremely dangerous and unsafe practices for buyers. DO NOT TRUST. I of course refused to provide any unnecessary 'extra' documentation. BUYERS BEWARE. UNSAFE AND UNTRUSTWORTHY website. Don't bother with 1stdibs!

1stDibs offers me interesting jewelry all the time, but this pendant was perfect. And I received an offer from the seller which made it more affordable. My daughter will love it!

Thanks for leaving a review for us on SiteJabber! From what I can see, the order would have been shipped to Ohio. This means any sales tax would have gone to the relevant state sales tax authority.
As this was an international shipment, any duties or taxes collected by the carrier would go to the customs authority for the United States on the way in. If you returned it, you might also incur duties and taxes into Belgium, also paid out to the country's state authority.
