Good and reassuring except for this rating experience. I am unable to close the window and I cant see my receipt.
The seller was great but there was a shipping price issue that could not be resolved on their. End. I contacted 1rst Dibs customer support who graciously and quickly resolved the problem so I could move forward with my purchase. THank you!
No immediate quote on shipping, so expect to purchase an item and wait days before finding out that shipping will cost you as much as the item itself. The FTC and consumer protection agencies will be interested in this.
The way this site works is new to me and has been clearly in the category of so far, so good! I'm looking forward to the seeing the last part of this exercise, when the package is delivered.
I purchased a purse for $1000. Needless to say it came looking like a $35 goodwill purchase. It smelled like cigarettes, had tears and stains beyond repair. I provided full photos and description the same day for refund. I was given a run around for 3 weeks. Now no refund, and I'm stuck with junk. I am so disappointed in this company. In america we expect quality and customer service, both of which they do not have. I will never recommend them to anyone.
I ordered a midcentury modern piece of furniture. It was reported to be "in perfect condition". When it Arrived, not only did it have several impact damages (perhaps from shipping?) but it also clearly had a fake "xerox" copy picture in one of the panels that should have been covered by glass and was not. Clearly not the quality touted. I have communicated with 1st dibs many times with no resolution. I warn Folks to stay away from this site as You can't tell the good front he bad sellers and 1st Dibs isn't working to drive out the bad ones.

Can be somewhat frustrating as not everyone replies to questions about shipping. Something that is obviously important to me as a buyer from afar like Sydney, Australia.
An expensive piece of art arrived damaged and 1stDibs is ignoring their own customer guarantee policy. I have been trying for weeks to get help with no resolve. This is by far the absolute worst customer service I have experienced, and this is after me purchasing quite a few pieces of expensive art in the last year via them. Their customer protection policy has been completely ignored. I have had to involve my credit card company to do a charge-back on their merchant account. Don't buy anything from this site unless you're fully prepared to walk away from your money, or go through the hassle of involving your credit card company.

Answer: It's a real company. But as I have learned by experience their policies and buyer protection are a scam. They mark up prices and sell high. You over spend and no way to get a refund. I'm highly disappointed in their ethics. Don't buy, look elsewhere.
