When we start a new company or concept, 99designs is the only place we go for design work. We can put our concept out to hundreds of designers at once and whittle down to what we like. Many of these designers have incredibly original and inventive designs. We like being able to "tweak" designs as we narrow down, and always are more than satisfied with the end results. The timeframe is perfect for us - giving us time to make a decision while not feeling the process becomes "stale". And, customer support with 99designs, in my opinion, is TOP-NOTCH. Contacting me when needed but not pushing anything. If I have questions, I get answers quickly and professionally. Highly recommend!
My designer level has dropped, but my graphic design skills are still strong, and my communication has improved, which makes clients happy with my designs, I already have many art school certifications. I have been a talented designer for 12 years. However there are still empty slots on the project browser, and they have stopped working on limited to 15 contests. 99designs is not a good platform for them.
I am graphic designer from last 3-4 years, specialised in Logo design and Stationery designs. I earned nice and positive feedback from my clients all the time by providing them best quality work with all necessary formats. But recently I tried 99designs because I had heard so much appreciation that this market place respects designers and pays the money worth to design, not like useless fiverr with just 5 dollars logos... I tried 99designs but after submitting best of my work, they refused me to take. I thought, may be there standards are much higher, then I approve my work and again try to get in but again rejection, I tried three times on 99designs with different emails because they only gave 2 chances on one email under one year time period. But all the time, they sent emails with full of love and best wishes but with REJECTIONS... So much I have to say about that ***** marketplace but... So disappointed that in todays time, no one is taking new registrations seriously, I'm talking about new registrations, not the newbies* thanks for the time... And if anyone from 99designs community is reading this, take some time to accept new registration

99designs team deleted my logo and also i suspended form that., I dont know why they suspend my account. I think 99design is a scam, fraud site. They cheating some designers and stealing their clients money.

Go to spot if you're look for professional quality designs at a competitive rate. Customer service is excellent. You really get over 99 designs submitted to you in a short period of time.
This was a great way to get multiple ideas and designs for many different designers. The process was easy and allowed for feedback and alterations. Overall quite satisfied with the finished product.
I genuinely review everything i buy, but on this occasion i didn't review this site until after i had purchased my logo. If i had i probably wouldn't of bothered.
I paid a tiny £59 for a very basic stock deign with a tag line underneath, which was perfect for my business. I completed the purchase at 10pm and had the fished logo by 5.30am the next day, and i honestly couldn't fault it, it looks good on my business cards flyers and website.
I emailed them a few questions and they responded with helpful answers within a few minutes.
I could of paid a lot, lot more on another site for a very similar logo.
Very happy with service, and design, can't really fault them.

I've been suspended recently. I'm designer in 99designs from 2015.
I don't understand why i've been suspended, i was chosen as the winner more than 5 times and get final round more than 14.
I through final round right now and this is really frustrating to get suspended at this time.
I think the staff and team must thinking before suspend the loyal designer.
Note: 99DESIGNS WAS CHANGE BECOME WORST WEBSITE FOR DESIGNERS.

I cannot recommend this site enough. I'm thrilled with my new logo but also in awe by the customer service and communication along the way in record time. Cannot recommend this service more highly.
As a designer it was a total waste of my valuable time. I read their policy and rules and looked at their winning section and thought wow I would love to participate. I've been designing for top Ad agencies here in LA for many years. Things have gone little south so I figured I'll do freelance jobs here and there. 99designs really disappointed me today as I've spent many countless hours and days designing and to find out that the contest holder had already declared a winner. The deadline was not till another day. I was completely disappointed. I stayed up late last night to polish of the designs and I was going to upload first thing in the morning. Well that was a big surprise. I just wasted my entire week on these designs and remind you I was sick for two days... this was going to be my second contest entry. The first one I got eliminated without any word. The winner, in my professional opinion, the design was amateur.
What I noticed from the other design contest, the designers were starting to copy each others ideas. The same photographs were appearing from other designers and the designs become so similar. If you upload your designs earlier on, the other designers will copy your ideas and therefore your idea is not unique anymore. Its better to hold off until few hours before the competition is ending.
Designers out there this company is not for you, its better to meet people and try to get them as your clients! The old fashion way.
Like the title says: Easy process, good price, high quality. The number of submissions was very large to choose from and most of them were very original. Really good value for money!

Though 99Designs is a Great Idea of having Design Contests where Clients gets a variety of Designs to choose from. But if at any point you need to contact customer support. Don't Contact, there's no one.
Like you get suspended for low quality designs or for some other issue, they'll suspend you asking a Portfolio of 4-5 designs for 99Designs live contests. Don't design the portfolio, NO ONE IS THERE TO CHECK IT!
You will Never get a Reply from 99Designs or You may get an AUTOMATED reply declaring that you will remain suspended.
They Don't have dedicated Customer Support members! I haven't seen anything worst than 99designs customer support!

I was recommended the site by a neighbor and liked the concept, the process seemed simple. I was a little hesitant committing money for a logo that I didn't know how it would turn out, but within 24 hours had some great designs and after 48 hours had my 3 favorite designs.
After that during the initial phase I did get a few entry level designers pumping out design and design that did not hit the mark ad just kept submitting, but still there was no harm in seeing alternatives.
The final stage was a little confusing as I thought I was choosing the final designer not the final design, but the designer was very understanding and we hashed out the final design with a couple of text fonts, different colors and different layouts. All provided in 5 different file formats including layered Photoshop files so as a photographer I am able to make various selections of various parts of the logo as needed.
With a time difference of 8 hours between me and the designer did slow down the communication somewhat but we got there in the end. Happy to have a pool of design skills to select from as opposed to one designer with a narrower design scope.
I was also suspended on 99design and I have over 10 years experience, they said my work quality is not good enough which is absurd, I worked for top agencies, I wrote several times to support because I simply was humiliated by their rejection as long as 99% of the logos on 99 design are a joke, and every time I had the same automated answer that my quality of work is not good enough without taking in consideration my portfolio I submitted.
I am a contest holder and paid over £400 to hold a competition
After a couple of days I tried to log in to leave the hard working designers reviews and feedback, so they could modify their designs before the end of the competition (in 2 days)
I was shocked to find out that 99designs had blocked my account and wanted me to upload a copy of my passport (no way), before I can access my account
I checked with my credit card company to see if there was an issue with the payment, no there is not the money has been taken
I am now waiting for a response from their customer support department, who appear to be non existent
In the meantime time is running out for me to leave feedback and get the designs modified

All the negative reviews here nearly scared me off, and honestly concerned I'll be taken as a shill given how good my experience was. After nearly writing off the idea tipped over the fence when a $25 off promotion was on, so I started a $299 contest ($274 with the money off), figured as the design studio quoted minimum $2,000 to develop the logo couldn't hurt to see what came in. Talked to a person named Veronica, and she assured me the money back offer is good if used within the time in the agreement- never had to try and exercise that. Anyhow on the first morning there were eight designs, two quite good. Rated them, and the refined designs improved more. The one hiccup I had was my designer used a stock photo as a model for a line-form, it was reviewed and 99designs was concerned, the designer overnight reworked the logo with one of my own photos as a model and it improved it even. The logo is as good as I could have hoped for, was done in three days, and overall excellent value and very pleased.
Getting a good design is the buyers job, as well as the designer's. Good art is not easy nor is it automatic. If you are new to composition and creativity admit it and with that awareness, you can find allies who can help, starting with the staff of 99designs. If you've created, made things you're happy with, then the design process will be fairly easy and straight forward. If not, then be ready for an enjoyable experience, as the staff at 99Designs and the amazing (and some not so amazing) Designers offer their ideas. Then you need to say what you think and want. That's the fun yet tricky part. Do you know what you want? Can you put it into words your Designers can use as feedback?

I want to share my awful experience in 99 designs here, their website seems so promising to designers, so last week, I just gave it a try on 99 designs. I participate my 1st contest, stay up late, draft idea and made a lot of effort, the design I summit got 4 stars (out of 5) I got into final! During the final, the interactive with Contest Holder was good, and she gave positive advise, and I revised my design for her and I got rated from 4 stars to 5 stars, but I got suspended immediately after the contest ended for the reason that my design is not meet their standard. That is outrageous! I got an art degree and I am an experienced designer for over 5 years. Also I sensed something not right during the contest, I felt some of the competitors' designs are almost the same, just fonts in circles or squares, and they summit the same design multiple times at the same time. And the other 2 finalists, their designs are exactly the same shape same colour. But since this is the 1st contest I entered, so I can't judge that so early, and I keep focus on my design. Even I did not win at last, but I feel happy I got in final at my 1st contest. But when I got suspended for reason that lack of quality, I was shocked. It proves my sense is right, it really obvious that they deliberately banned potential designers who are really professional and creative, and protect those so called designers in their 99 designs team.
I have to speak it out, to all the designers who made so much effort, don't waste your time in this scam platform!

99Designs have connections to the best designers. I was given so many wonderful designs for my book cover. I had a hard time choosing the best one! I will be using them for all my future projects!

The reason for the three month period is that we want to make sure designers really take the time to improve in the principles of typography, visual hierarchy, composition and color, as well as technical skills. We have to remain consistent with all designers in our procedure for portfolio review. As such, our staff will not review a portfolio until three months past the date of your account-hold.
