“The only place for quality, original designs”

When we start a new company or concept, 99designs is the only place we go for design work. We can put our concept out to hundreds of designers at once and whittle down to what we like. Many of these designers have incredibly original and inventive designs. We like being able to "tweak" designs as we narrow down, and always are more than satisfied with the end results. The timeframe is perfect for us - giving us time to make a decision while not feeling the process becomes "stale". And, customer support with 99designs, in my opinion, is TOP-NOTCH. Contacting me when needed but not pushing anything. If I have questions, I get answers quickly and professionally. Highly recommend!

My designer level has dropped, but my graphic design skills are still strong, and my communication has improved, which makes clients happy with my designs, I already have many art school certifications. I have been a talented designer for 12 years. However there are still empty slots on the project browser, and they have stopped working on limited to 15 contests. 99designs is not a good platform for them.

DON'T DESIGN FOR THIS SITE!

I submitted a couple of designs and got good feedback from the client for one of them, the other was given 4 stars along with 3 other peoples efforts. This suggests the design was shortlisted seeing as they were the only designs even given ratings out of the 50 something. I then got suspended from the website before the competition was completed so my design have been removed. This is a joke. I've read some of the comments on here and people are being suspended for the quality of their work even though they have won competitions. Sort it out 99designs you cretins.

Ive had this account for 6 months maybe submitted a dozen entries and all if a sudden i get suspended for lck of quality? Have you seen some of the crap people submit? Its a joke. The last contest i entered i was having. $#*! of a time cropping my logo so i withdrew it a couple times to get it right... i smell robots...

At first I was impressed with the concept. I work in the marketing world but didn't have the time or resources to work on this myself and we needed a professional logo for our real estate group. This seemed to be a great solution. We received a variety of designs-I'm sure some of the designers were original and the interaction with designers was good. Unfortunately a design popped up at the end of the second phase-we ran a poll and this new design rose to the top so we ran with it. I had to spoon feed most of the creative but ended up with the basics to work with.
I was disappointed to find the logo that won was not original at all-it was pulled and copied directly out of Adobe Cloud Library. I wish one of the designers that worked so hard to create something original for us had won. I guess we got what we paid for. So sorry for and to all the designers out there who produce quality work.

I had big projects to complete and a ton of money to spend and I needed a company that had it together. From what I saw in the reviews, I was scared to take a chance on unprofessional losers. One of the designers from 99designs that got suspended, ran into him at Starbucks, showed me some of his work and we are investing in him. Sometimes it pays to go to the real designer and their studio.

Not recommended at All, when there is any issue with the designer they won't even care. And the reply from the head of customer care was very rude and not even even close to care.
It was something like we got our money and now you have to solve your problem

Even for $700 you only get average amateur designers. The designers end up copying the first design you give an above average score to. All I ended up was a lot of very average designs! Highly recommend using designcrowd instead as was much cheaper and ended up with much better designs.

This site had not only great designers but also great ability to grasp your abstract ideas to making them into a reality. Customer service was great and the responsiveness along with revised submissions were done with little to no time. Quick and efficient. If you are looking to get a logo done and have a deadline to meet, this is the company for you. Definitely recommending this to anyone who is looking for a graphic designer. Cheers!

The great thing i found was that you were offered many various options, many different and others very similar, whoever, if you dont have any idea in the first place you discard the ones you clearly dont connect with and then focus on what catches your eye. Providing a brief that reflects some idea of look, feel,, values etc does narrow the designers creativity however that is part of the reason for a brief so you dont get a lot of options that dont hit the mark. Creativiy is subjective and having been through a process with corporate branding where you can spend considerable time and money and not achieve outcomes, the outcome is in the eye of the beholder. This experience was a positive one for me.

I have been working at 99 design for the last several months as an illustrator, and I am happy working there even the experience might be bittersweet to designers and clients.
My good experiences came from competing at an international level, that makes me elevate my quality, work harder from the concept to the final design. It is not easy, has been a lot of hours learning and improving. I have a lot of defeats in the contests, but each defeat is a lesson to learn if I take the time.
The bitter side from the story came from the periods when I have no wins, even when I have working hard and providing good designs. There area lot of good designers in the site.
The biggest problem as designers is having a bad communication with the clients, the clearest we understand a client the better work we are able to do. If you are a client be sure of what you need and like to have, the better you understand you're need the better we will be able to help you.

This was my second time to use 99 Designs for book covers but not my last! I received 104 designs for my most recent book. At least a dozen of those would have been wonderful covers. The hard part was picking the best out of all the choices!

I really love the logo that SilARG created for us. She was proactive, hard working, creative and more responsive than I would have ever expected. She is a real team player and collaborator AND she has strong ideas and suggestions of her own - what a great combination! We are #100%satisfied:-) Thanks Sil - 5 stars and 2 thumbs up for sure.

They treat you like you are not their client. They just want money and provide no service or support. The "packages" they offer are all the result of poor designers' good will, efforts and hard working (they have no part in this service except taking money). They are not transparent and unclear with their terms of service. I don't recommend them at all.

This is the second time I've had a highly successful, business-critical project done via 99designs. I'm super happy with the output. My only knock this time versus last time is that there weren't as many designers competing for my business this time. Not sure if that was an anomaly or what, but overall I'm really happy.

So I got a silver contest for a brand design. Got 500+ designs. Much more than the promised 60. Many looked very much alike and contestants kept mimicking each other. Most did not follow the brief and ignored messages about things they should and shouldn't do. Many did not seem to speak proper English. It cost me much more time than expected, logo files are visually of good quality but require some tweaking before print after 7 days of revisions with a designer in a completely different timezone.

End result is nice, but the road there was tough, price paid was too high for what I got. Will not do this again for logo design. Fiverr is probably a better idea, will probably find someone with a style I like and ask them for something original in the future. Will contact 99designs staff about this though.

I have started on 99designs 4 years ago as absolutely beginner and I learn so much there! Lot of inspirational designs, great designers to learn from and support from great community made me work on myself and improve my design skills higher then I ever expected! Great recommendation for everyone who want to work, grow, develop and learn each day. Also, great recommendation for clients who wants proffesional design since lot of the world's best designers are here!

I'm a college design student who has been using 99designs for the past 3 weeks, as a way to potentially make some money because I couldn't find a summer job... I participated in three contests, and was chosen as a finalist for two... one of them was about to end, and based on the customer's feedback it seemed like he was definitely going to choose mine... and then today I received an email saying "Your account has been suspended forever for the following reason... after reviewing your 99designs portfolio, weve found that you do not yet meet our minimum quality standards"... the customers liked what I was submitting, but because the people running the website didn't like it, I got suspended and automatically lost the contests. DON'T waste your time like I did!

I had never done anything like this before and I enjoyed navigating the website. I got some designers that didn't match with my style and they quickly were declined. New ones popped up immediately and I enjoyed working with several right up until I picked the winner.

The process was clear and easy. I appreciate the notes of guidance and frequent updates along the way. When the designer didn't respond to my final request, I contacted customer service via chat and receive prompt and friendly assistance. I strongly recommend.

It was a surprisingly positive experience to work with 99designs. We did that as a trail - to see how it would work - without any high expectations. But the outcome was much better than we expected. I think we now have a logo for our brand that suite our purpose.

This site was recommend to me by a graphic designer who gently let me know we couldn't afford his services. After my first 99designs experience, I know I'll go this route again in the future regardless of how much money I have to spend. We were amazed by how many designs we had to choose from--and we actually had a lot of fun with the process! The poll feature was incredibly helpful. We reached out to customer service on multiple occasions with questions about the process and were always pleased with the answers we received and the quality of service. Will definitely use this service again in the future and have already recommended it to others!

Throw a bunch of hungry people with a computer into a spec work situation where they're "creating" something for free in the hopes of being picked, and you get sub-par and often illegal ripoffs being touted as branding.

These aren't designers, and the owners don't care about design. This is money-grabbing at its worst.

The designers are very talented and creative. All of the designers responded promptly to changes I asked for. Initially, I was a little apprehensive about trying the service but I'm glad I pulled the trigger on it. The service exceeded my expectations and I am very pleased with the end result.

Absolutely horrible! Yes, you will get at least 50 logo concepts by using 99designs logo service, but let me tell you something: 90% the designers submitted are plagiarized. SO if you want to waste hundreds or thousands of dollars for a logo that you will likely be sued for, go ahead.

Fortunately for me, I found a great custom logo company called VX Logos, www.vxlogos.com, which a friend recommended to me, and now have my dream logo!

It was classified in an English brand Ernest Collect Contest with 13 Approved Marks and 3 Stars. They suspended me from the web site saying that I have no I have technical preparation. I have 32 years of experience and attended more than 500 big clients in Brazil and in the World. They did not respond and I intend to go to court to see my legal rights

The reason for the three month period is that we want to make sure designers really take the time to improve in the principles of typography, visual hierarchy, composition and color, as well as technical skills.
