Customer service is horrible trying to set up payment plan lady did not try to work with me needed to make payment on the 16th was told had to pay on the 4th and just made a payment on the 16 lady had no compassion for me just pay us our money don't think I will be renewing my policy in February I wasn't in good hands with Allstate
I called to inquire and ask questions because I had a leak in my home that destroyed some of my furniture I never put the claim in, and i never got a claim number because after talking to them I figured it wouldn't be worth it. Yesterdsy I switched to another insurance company because they went up 30 dollars because I moved around the corner they said the area I live in has a lot of accidents anyways while getting a new quote I found out that they put in a claim on their own for the furniture now my history shows that I have a claim on renters insurance even though it says zero was paid out it's still is an issue to have that on my history
Stay away! Don't make the same mistake I did. He started off as a seemingly nice guy who gave me a good rate when I switched to Allstate for Milewise. It seemed to be the best plan for me since I work many hours from home, and I barely even have time to drive my car. In addition, I have a great driving record (no issues at all) and live in a safe area.
That good rate lasted a year. Then my rate increased by 32% (with no explanation), and then another 36% six months later. When I called to discuss the increase and mentioned that his wife (who works there) was unable to give me a good explanation for the previous 32% increase, he flew off the handle, told me that I could say anything about him, but not to touch his wife! He then told me to take my business elsewhere, and he hung up on me. I was going to take my business elsewhere, anyway, because I'm tired of being ripped off. But I thank God that I saw his true colors before I had to file any kind of claim with him because I can only imagine what a nightmare that would've been!
I guess I'm supposed to just sit here quietly, with a big smile on my face, and let him drastically increase my rate every six months. Never. He was very rude and extremely unprofessional instead of calmly answering my questions. He loves to say, "We don't set the rates." And he actually had the nerve to tell me that I have the best rate! But the clincher was the explosive anger after I mentioned that his employee (who happened to be his wife) was not helpful. I couldn't believe he was the same guy I dealt with when he sold me the policy. Horrible.
So I filed a complaint with the SC Department of Insurance because I had already spoken to them previously, and they told me that those increases were quite steep. Then I switched immediately. I was able to get much better coverage for both my home and car...for better rates...a zero deductible for my car (full coverage)...and with another company that consistently rates above Allstate in all the rankings, and which unlike them, has excellent customer service. So I'm very thankful that this horrible experience (the worst I've ever had with an insurance agent) spurred me to immediately switch to something better, and I'm so happy that I did!
Our Motor Home has been in Repair Shop since June to get a Comprehensive Claim fixed. It is now October and we haven't been able to use our Motor Home all Summer because Allstate refuses to pay to get our Motor Home Repair finished. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE, "BAD HANDS" SAVE YOURSELF A LOT OF TROUBLE BUY INSURANCE ELSWHERE!
My car was hit by I don't know who I asked my #Allstate insurance for help I was treated badly by the inspectors I didn't get the tow truck I didn't get the replacement car Of course I pay this policy I chased them for a month asking help to fix my car and this was not granted to me and coincidentally they had to sell the car #allstate #insurance you advertise on tv if you treat people like this!
Worst insurance! Don't consider getting insurance from them. I guess you get what you paid for. They're rip off.
I've always been a careful, law abiding driver. However, accidents do happen. This 02/22 they didn't allow my insurance to get renewed and is terminating my policy.
So I tried to do an online quote hoping I might get a new insurance from them. They took my premium payment, but towards the end a message that follows "Unfortunately, we won't be able to give you policy at this time." I waited 3-7 days for them to refund me but they didn't. So I called AS customer service, and the local agent's answer was just "I don't know." They employ incompetent people. They cannot help me so I contacted the customer service of the credit card I used, and immediately I got my refund. However, few days later, I received a letter that I'm getting charged $55 for canceling.
Like why am I getting charged $55 when my insurance got terminated and not allowed to renew?
Plus they're giving me a temporary policy that is expiring until April. WTF.
Anyway, the reason for the termination of my policy is due to drivers who caused accident to me. First was a hit and run. Second was a driver getting impatient with the traffic in Walmart parking and backing up and hit me. I told the customer service that those incidents weren't my fault but responded to me that "even though it's not your fault. You're involved in too much accident in one year."
If I could give Allstate a zero star I would. I had a break-in at my home in Youngstown Ohio. When filing my claim, I missed a few details. Because of that, my claim was turned over to a special investigator by the name of James Revere. From that point it was no longer an inquiry, it became a hostile Interrogation and nothing short of a criminal conspiracy. Where were you on this date? Can you send me proof of that? Who else has access to the house? Can you send me their name and number? Every question was shaped to incriminate me. I felt extremely uncomfortable having to explain every detail of my life to him. There are so many things about this situation that he didn't bother to ask. He call my wife and asked her trick questions to fit his narrative. I called his manager to ask her if his line of questioning was proper and she was even more hostile and rude. She spoke over me several times. The paralegal assigned to my claim was rude, and pushy as well. I've been labeled a criminal by Allstate Insurance. A guy who would break into his own home and steal his heating furnace, water heater, and copper plumbing. Now I'm forced to hire an attorney to protect my name. Just because Allstate suspects that I had something to do with the break-in at my own home. I feel like I'm being victimized twice. Once by the burglar and now by the Allstate.
They are nothing but thieves. They win in my town and they took my hard-working $500 out of my account by adding my miner son without my permission on the policy. And they refused to refund my money!
First I want to mention I had been an Allstate customer for 17 years for both my car and house. After a mild and remediation service that I had hired noticed I had hail damage on my roof. I called my agent several times and to no avail he did not respond. Afterwards, I contacted Allstate directly and a third party roofing company came to inspect the damage. After he was finished, he connected me to the Allstate appraiser only to be told Allstate had approved $534 in damages so I will be receiving a $34 check since I have a $500 deductible. I told him not to bother since I don't want a claim on my record. I had received the check anyways so I called Allstate to complain. I was told there is nothing they can do because of state regulations. However they said next time I should contact my agent and he could walk me through it. Long story short, when my policy came up for renewal the premiums skyrocketed due to the claim on the roof. Allstate insisted it was not the case and again I should contact my insurance agent. I did try calling several more times to no avail. So I shopped around for insurance only to find out I have been overpaying approximately $1,300 more in yearly premiums. As for that agent I couldn't get a hold of, he had died a month prior to putting in for the claim. I was not contacted about this until 3 months after his death. Google Allstate and it has a ton of negative reviews! Even the American Association of Lawyers wrote an article about their deceptive practices.
I filed a claim with Allstate for the tsunami damage to my roof and they repaired the roof under the promise of not paying extra beyond what the insurance company paid for. Lastly, I received 2 checks from Allsate in July 2022. I deposited the check into the bank and it went through without any problems. I soon paid the roofing company a check. However, after a few days allsate returned the check. The reason is that the check was canceled. The roofing company is lying and won't return the money and Allstate won't fix the problem saying they are not responsible for canceled checks. Over the past 6 months I have talked and complained countless times about my pain but the billing team is wasting my time not taking responsibility for their mistakes.
I have never been notified of canceled checks in advance and have always deposited and debited insurance money and all claims to my personal bank account. Why? Did you create this problem by issuing a check this time? For six months, I reported this issue to lawyers and various social media communities and sought advice. Everyone says the insurance company will fix the problem.
I've been a loyal Allstate customer for almost 20 years, but the way the claims team resolved the issue this time was shocking. I still can't sleep because I'm sick and I'm angry.
Before blaming someone
The cause of this problem is that allstate is sending an incorrect check. As an allstate insurance company with 100 years of history, please solve the problem
I've been trying to get my money back for a long time now I had Allstate insurance for one month they had me all set up then they cancelled my insurance don't know why all I know is am out of 580 00 dollar's and now I've trying to get it back it's been a big joke and now they are sending me late payments that was a big mastake dealing with Allstate insurance
I was hit by an allstate driver so I had not choice but to deal with this company. It is difficult to talk with anyone directly. Phone system is set up to direct you to the website or to file a claim through a link. It took weeks to assign blame and process the claim. They had an app to establish damage and provide estimate for repair. The estimate was a joke. My regular body shop wouldn't deal with allstate. Found another body shop who did. He tried to arrange a rental as he does with other insurance companies and has done with allstate in the past.
Allstate has a new policy, I need to pay for rental upfront and then they will reimburse me. I didnt find this out until I was returning the car. I have called allstate back 3 times today was on hold for a good chunk of time, talked with 3 different people at the company. They all had different stories. The last person I spoke with said they would only reimburse me for 3 days of car rental even though it took 10 days for the repair. The total car rental was 520 dollars. They will only pay 80 dollars. 3 days at a rate of 26.68.
I am going to file a complaint against the company with the state. I would not even give them 1 star. They are an awful company. I have never had an issue like this before. Most companies arrange the repair and rental directly with the body shop to make the process easy. Not ALLSTATE. They are clearly not interested in providing good customer service.
Allstate gives me a hard time when I get backup sour water in my basement, After back and forth for long 2 months they paid $1500 instead $ 10,000 cover of my policy. Every day they came with a new reason to not pay my coverage. I DO NOT RECOMMEND ALLSTATE. NO NO NO NO BE CAREFUL YOU NOT IN GOOD HANDSS
They tell you one thing to get you to sign a low ball offer and then pay you a different amount. They say that they told you but no they didn't. Liars!
Allstate offers lower premiums and better coverage than my previous insurance company (Liberty Mutual), but their people just flat suck rocks. Both my local agent in Loganville Georgia and his office manager are incompetent. When I tried to sign up for the insurance, they put in a lot of wrong info, starting with my name. The one and only thing they got right was my Visa number. And that is EXACTLY the one and only thing they care about. Forget trying to get ahold of them - they work 9-5 M-F and don't even answer their phones then or respond to e-mails. The 1-800 number is useless - none of the reps can change anything. Allstate is absolutely a throwback to the bad old days. I gave them two stars for the low premium and zero for anything else.
UPDATE Allstate posted a response below asking me to e-mail them. That is a PRIME example of how lazy and careless they are. They have ALL of my contact information yet they are too lazy to reach out to me. They want ME to reach out to them, yet again! So if you needed any proof that what I have said is true, Allstate has conveniently provided it right here.
Allstate owns Castle Key who write their homeowners policies.
Run dont walk away from buying a policy here.
They are crooks and will deny valid claims.
Litigation next.
I just got a spam phone call from Allstate California. The caller said they had a coupon, I said I'm not interested and the caller said F***Off three times before I could hand up. Real professional!
We carried Allstate for home, car and landlord insurance (3 rentals) for 20 years and never filed a claim. We've moved states and lived in multiple houses. No claims until a couple years ago when our refrigerator line got a pinhole leak and did some damage in our kitchen. We needed new kitchen floors and a couple cabinets repaired. Their estimate was about 1/6 what we were told it would cost to repair but they conceded and paid. Fast forward a bit and there's a hail storm that sent roofers knocking on our door to say there was likely damage. We told them to take a look and they confirmed. Talked to Allstate who wanted to send out their people who said there was no damage. Fine, we said. Close the claim. Then last summer, a pipe in our basement sprung a pinhole leak. Drywall needed repaired, and carpets cleaned. Couldn't have cost too much. We even used their "good hands" contractor who took 6 months! To wrap it all up. No big deal, we said. As soon as the claim closed … Allstate told us they were dropping us! What?!?! Conclusion? You're in good hands as long as you never ever file any claim.
I had my worst experience with Allstate insurance company. Mostly because of Evita Reynaga their agent or not sure who is she. My car's accident happened on 16th of May 2020 and from that time till July 31 I was negotiating with them all that period. The accident happen at the parking lot of Ross store and cameras fixed it, everything was very evident I saw video of impact, it was 100% another sides fault, but evita said that they cannot get the video footage, After long negotiations she accepted that accident's fault is lying mostly on their customer, in video is very clear that at the time of impact my car wasn't moving, but anyway she agreed on 65% of estimate (which was their company's estimate and very low, almost half amount of real expenses). But she wasn't hurrying to send my check. 2- 3 weeks ago I called to corporate office and found a person named Diana who transferred 65% to our account. Thanks to her. I don't know if it's company's policy to play on time or customer's health, or just evita's personal approach to us. This is the last company I will ever recommend to anyone.
Started off with a great 6 month deal for my car insurance in January. Now it's April and the company decided to add my brother and sister onto my policy without my knowledge of sending any mail, text or notification UNTIL days before they were going to take $850 from my bank account. I explained to multiple people I talked to that I was never informed of this change and I never added them. They have their own insurance and vehicles. Allstate said there was nothing they could do but that I could remove them by putting in their insurance info, so I did. This wasn't good enough. Had to send more document proof and take the high road with this process and told me it would take days. I canceled my policy after this and went with another insurance company because of how unhelpful most people were or couldn't explain to me why I was not informed of this change or why they were added in the first place! The worst is that I was told I owed money. Currently fighting this dispute as the company says I owe $200 yet really my brother and sister are on there own insurance and I should be getting refunded the 3 months of insurance I won't be using I originally paid for. They are very sneaky!
Answer: Geico, Progressive, State Farm. They're all the same and rates are based on YOUR personal driving history.
Answer: Because my husband chose them. Now he's gone and I think, so is Allstate.
Answer: You will be on Hold for a while... then you'll get someone who may or may not give you correct information. Be prepared to call back MANY times.
