We purchased a new refrigerator from Home Depot 15 months ago along with a warranty. We lived with minor problems until now that the main door handle is loose. It has a screw on top, but nothing I see to release or tighten the bottom. I called the warranty number. It is actually Square Trade aka Allianz. The recording said first step was to text my original invoice to the number provided. I did. Hours later, no response. I called and spoke with an Allianz / Square Trade Rep. I was told to continue to wait. Hours later I called back. This time I was told that texting doesn't work. I needed to email it and I was being sent a link which now took me to my account. I was told it was in progress and that I needed to call for assistance, the continuation of an endless circle. This time I did an online 'chat' and was making little progress until he finally understood the dilemma. I was disconnected from the chat. I tried again. After 30 more minutes the agent told me that the link does work, so I was given incorrect information. He sent me an email to which I would reply with my invoice. It arrived. Now I was told to call for a service appointment with another division. My wife called. She was told to send pictures of the loose door handle. HMMM? How does one send a picture of a handle that swivels 1/4 inch. Instead I sent a video. We were told to wait 24 hours for an update. Oh, yeah, one of the problems we reported was an ice maker that generally starts by leaking out water. I am told that is a known defect. We were told to take out the ice bin (no idea how to do that), flush out the parts with hot water. What parts? Where? Otherwise, they would not service it. Let's see if at the least I get some resolution for the refrigerator door appointment.
I left MA for a few months and took my car off the road, and that included removing the insurance and registration to save money. I had auto insurance in another state while away. Currently looking for another insurance carrier since my insurance increased 27% (Hanover) since I've been away (and no fault of mine...). AllState will not insure my auto if I didn't have 12 months of continuous coverage in MA... I had 33 years of continuous coverage in MA, but have been traveling over the past several years and only use insurance when I'm back in state. So even with coverage in another state and many years of previous coverage in MA, Allstate will not insure my auto. Not the brightest policy considering driving record, continuous coverage of an auto for 3+ decades, 33+ years of coverage in MA, etc.
Knowing this, even if I had exactly what Allstate desires, I wouldn't use them. Many other choices out there. I couldn't even get a quote to see if it was even a viable decision. BUT, they will insure my home - I think NOT.
The customer service representative Ms. Angelica Yanez, was rude, aggressive, argumentative and went out of her way and her job description to intentionally try to add more tension and complications to the initial problem I called about.
She tried lecturing me on her training class experience at Allstate. When I would not give a reaction she got frustrated and began insisting I give her a reason why I felt my car should have aftermarket parts.
Regardless of the fact I called bcuz I stated I didn't want aftermarket parts on car due to depreciation concerns.
She went on discrediting my reason and began over talking me. When I asked to speak to her supervisor, she said "No! You can't speak to my supervisor and hung up on me.
It should be known that you are not in good hands with Allstate. Actually some of the worst customer care in the industry.
The adjuster, Eric H. Dale sent me an email stating, "Mr. X, I have investigated your claim and Allstate. We use aftermarket parts and will be putting aftermarket parts on your car"?
No offers for other alternatives, no customer edicatesy, just rude and demanding. Telling you that you have no control over what's being done to your property, despite the fact it's your property.
I would not recommend Allstate to anyone if they expect to be well taken care of.
ALLSTATE IS THE WORST! I have had both auto and home for over 6 years and have never filed a claim before. In May we had some bad storms run through Minnesota and unfortunately I had to file a clam on my roof for hail damage. I had my contractor come assess the damage and he felt it warranted a claim as he noticed a lot of damage. I filed the clam and they sent an inspector to check out my roof, this is where all the problems started. The inspector stopped marking anything after 7 hits every square (10X10 section of my roof) additionally he completely disregarded other Window damage we wanted him to look at. My claims examiner Devin called me and said he noticed I do indeed have a lot of damage but they're only going to fix the damaged spots and not the whole roof (I'm ok with that as long as it matches) in this case, it does not! First off my shingles are discontinued as they no longer make them. He sends me an intel report of the "match" he found. I purchased a sample of this match and it was clearly not a match. I proceeded to take photos of their so called "match" on my roof and sent the photos in to my examiner. He said he felt it was a match. Minnesota law requires matching shingles and cannot "spot fix" if the shingles do not match. I told him I was in disagreement and would like a second set of eyes on my claim. I contacted customer service in was given his bosses information. I called his boss Kendra over a month ago with no call back. In fact, I've called her several times and left messages with no response. I'm now 3 months into this claim with no end in sight.
We had extensive damage to our roof due to a windstorm. Allstate does not send an experienced adjustor out to assess the damage. They send a contractor to take pictures, then an 'adjustor' in a call center in Dallas (phone rep with a headset) manages the claim. The Allstate contractor came out and we had an additional contractor submit a quote and pictures. Weeks later the 'adjustor' came up with an estimate of $1,400.00 to repair some shingles. When questioned, she did not even look at the pictures from the Allstate contractor or our contractor. After she looked at the pictures, she kept demanding more and more information from our contractor. When communicating with me, she was rude, sarcastic and condescending. After months, she wrote an estimate for a roof replacement, however, our Allstate policy had a 'rider' that 'depreciated the roof' causing Allstate to only pay 40% of the cost. Worst company ever - it's like not having insurance. We are getting quotes and will be changing companies.
Allstate will lie cheat you out of your claim never buy home insurance with Allstate they cheat me out of my claim left me homeless lost my family because of Financial stree.
The problem with Allstate is that the computer controls all. Not one dang person in that company can override what the computer tells them even when the computer is wrong. Once day I decide I'm not getting a great rate with them and I'm tired of getting the run around every time I try to talk to someone. So I buy different insurance, as one does. I do that, and call up Allstate to cancel my policy. Only to be told it can't be cancelled today. That it would have to be backdated a whole month because the cancellation system in their computers showed I hadn't paid for the current month yet and that I was a month behind. The problem with that was yes I had and no I wasn't. Their computers wouldn't even accept a payment because my account was showing no payment due. Backdating and cancelling would trigger a refund of one month's payment, they confirmed this. I talked to three different people, who consulted supervisors. Each and every one of them could see that I was clearly current, but not one of them could fix the problem, because at Allstate the computer controls all and no one can override it.
I gave up and cancelled backdated, after confirming that my lender wasn't going to take issue with it. Stay away from Allstate. I have never in my life dealt with a more infuriating company.
Had windstorm damage to roof which caused leaks from ceiling.
Allstate sent a person to take pictures, these were sent to Allstate adjuster in Texas.
Allstate set total caim amount to $3500.
Quote for Roof repairs$22,000 tree removal $3500 and plaster repair $8700.
Total for repairs $34,200.
My next step was a public adjuster.
Allstate appraisal was $16,000
My appraiser was $44,000
Read your policy!
Allstate always told me that I had their best policy
The deliux home owners policy which had replacement value.
What Allstate neglects to inform home owners is the code upgrade clause.
If you do not have this on your policy get it or drop
Allstate. IT WILL COST YOU IN THE END.
THIS COST ME AROUND $13,000
State Farm, Amica and USAA code upgrade is part of their standard policy.

I submitted a claim for wind damage after a big storm knocked a bunch of shingles off my roof. Had it inspected by their 3rd party inspected "Hanson/Hansen/Hancock something like that" which also agreed there is wind damage. Had a brittle test, pliability test, all failed and they no longer make my 3 tab metric shingle. They suggested cutting up a standard 3 tab shingle which isn't possible. They also would change adjusters on me ever few weeks so I would have to start the process ALL OVER from scratch with the new adjusted. After it was all said and done, I think they had passed me over to more than 10 different adjusters. This is just fraudulent! It took 11 months to finally get my wind damage covered, after going through over 10 adjusters (they kept moving me around just as soon as I started making progress), and had to ultimately take it to the State Insurance office before they finally did ANYTHING. This company is a bunch of scam artist and they WILL NOT cover you when/if you ever have a claim.
Do not do business with Allstate Insurance on any level. I had a collision with a deer on December 11th, 2021, and that is when everything went to h*** in a speeding bus. First, the roadside assistance that I pay additional money didn't arrive for over four hours. Next, the claims adjuster provided me a lowball estimate to which they stated they wouldn't pay, because I only had liability although the police report directly stated the collision with the deer was not my fault. They did stated it did not matter that it wasn't my fault, and I should not have followed the advice of their salesperson when I purchased the policy. I then took the vehicle to a shop that provided a repair estimate of $8,362.26 which was more than the overall value of the vehicle. I then chatted with multiple agents that provided me the same, old story. I'm sorry there is nothing we can do although we took your money for months knowing the repair costs were more than the vehicle's value. Each agent stated I understand your frustration, but there is nothing we can do for your liability policy. PLEASE, PLEASE do not purchase any policies from this company. I'm confident I'm not the first person that they have done this to, but I'm going to try to make myself the last.
I made a valid claim on renter's insurance policy bought from Allstate. Allstate claims representative, Mr. Kirkner, yelled at me over phone that the security deposit is never returned to the renter and that I bought the lowest premium renter's insurance from Allstate. He completely discredited the Allstate product on the phone and took no responsibility. He never contacted the land lord or the property manager to get any more information. Now this claim, as a risky claim, is on my credit report forever. I can no longer obtain any renter's insurance or homeowner's insurance. How can I be a risky applicant if I am sent a proper written document by the property manager at the time of the move-out? The Homeowner Association, landlord and the property manager reported a written incidence of damage and have held $950 from me and this is the amount I paid from my pocket. The fact that All State couldn't do its job by saying that a working number of the landlord and the property manager didn't get them connected, has nothing to do with my being risky. It's just gross incompetence of their team.
Never received it and tracked it down Post Office doesn't except FedEx...
Didn't know we're To go get the Meter
That's not my fault
Had to cancel POLICY
Let me start by saying Allstate is popular but not necessarily good. I filed a claim about hail storm damage to my roof last year. Allstate denied my claim. Allstate claims that there was no hail stone damage. And so I left it at that. This year 2022, 1 put my house in the market and the buyer's inspection agent also reported hailstone damage to the roof. I refiled my claim again and Allstate once again denied my claim. I uploaded pictures of the hail damage as prove of hail damage and Allstate still denied my claim. They give me no justifiable reason to deny my claim because there was none. This denial was based on greed on the part of Allstate. I had to cut the price of my house by $15,000 in other to sell my house. What's the point of having a home insurance when you're not able to use it when it matters? What more., my car insurance is also insured by Allstate, I will cancel the car insurance and have nothing to do with Allstate. I am buying a new home this month and so I am shopping around for a trustworthy insurance company. I will do my homework this time. I will read reviews and do my research before picking one. My advice for every one is to stay away from Allstate.
Remember Allstate commercial? They always say "Allstate you are in good hands" But I say Allstate you are in dangerous hands!
I have been with Allstate over 20 yrs, and always a good and loyal customer throughout these years. My 2020 Lexus got hit from the back this week, and I did not believe the car can be driven after the accident. I uploaded the damage photos to QFC as per Allstate request. Allstate gave me its Estimate of Record with amount of less than $1,900. I believed my car is either totaled or needed a major repair work. I called them and ask Allstate to give me a fair estimate because I did not want to be in the position between repair shop and insurance argument with the result of my car not get fixed properly. My request was rejected and was told they can not send an appraisal or redo the estimate until the repair shop give out its estimate. My questioned the manager from Allstate, his first name is Daniel, how this estimate was conducted and how he, as an manager, can adjustify this kind of ridiculous low amount in the estimate. He has no answer but keep on telling me it's initial estimate. At the end, he did not agree to give me a fair estimate, so I said to him 'good bye'. I am extremely disappointed after over 20 yrs with them, and expect to get a fair treatment when I need the help. I am switching the company. 'I am not in a good hand - Bye bye Allstate. I do not believe Allstate deserves a star or any star.
A tree fell on the house, on the carport, and did extensive damage. Since it was just the carport the house was livable. Filed the claim, Allstate sent out a claims examiner (not an adjustor, i found out there was a difference, but still don't understand what the difference is) the examiner sent the information to an adjustor in a different state and he called me with the estimate based on the photos and the examiner's report. I contacted a contractor, one All-State recommended, and they came out and said no way the damage could be fixed with the low amount i was paid. The contractor said he would deal with the adjuster. There was no issue with the additional amount for the repairs but what All-State refused to pay was the Additional Living expense coverage under my policy contract. The house was going to be unlivable while the repairs were being made due to the contractor would have to shut off power to the home since there was extensive electrical damage done. All State refused to pay for me to live elsewhere while the repairs were being done. It is about a 3-week job and I have to pay out of pocket to live in a hotel for 3 weeks!
My car was hit by someone with Allstate insurance. It has been a miserable experience compounded by the rude idiots who work for Allstate.
One of there insured hit us head on becuse he did not scrap the frost off his windshield this truck is only 6 months old and they do not want to pay out. Have 15 hrs in in fighting them to take 100% of the blame. Still can't get them to pay what we payed for the truck. Horrible Bullies stay far away from this company should be illegal for them to do business.

I realized that i haven't gotten a notice of my insurance premium for a while. In 2014 My daughter was in a car accident, my husband died and my mother almost died. I went through a lot emotionally and I was grieving still in 2015. For some reason I must have forgotten about the policy because I forgot to pay it. I had this policy since 1999 and I called the customer services representative who was not very empathetic at all. She was kind of rude and came back at me with very sarcastic answers to my questions. Her attitude was well since you didn't pay it, we cancelled you. She also stated that the company sent me a notice in February of 2015 and in April but I told her that I didn't receive either. Oh well my loss. The customer service representative kept stating that they sent it as if I received it, I didn't want to pay my insurance or mail cant get lost. This is the second time this happened to me and I don't understand why a company can be so cold to cancel a policy that has been held for almost 16 years. I told her that it seemed as if they did this on purpose. She stated that they didn't have any reason, but yet there was a reason but she stated that I couldn't get any of the refund of my payments. This company states that it is a name that you can trust but how is this possible when stuff like this happens? So I get two letters sent to me and that's it. No email, no phone call just hope you get our cancellation. If not oh well. The only times I missed payments were in 2014 and 2015 out of 16 years. WOW this is unbelievable. Their slogan is Your in good hands, Really. Hmmm I am not so sure. I can't tell. They did this on purpose.
I was hit head on in my Mercedes wagon by an insured Allstate driver. I was not hurt but my car was totaled. Right out of the gate I gave a statement, the other driver gave a statement and I have her on video admitting fault. Allstate did everything they could to not pay out diminished value, the full length of the rental car and delay the claim. For every five calls I made maybe I would get one return call. I went to the supervisor of my handler and no return calls. So the apple does not fall far from the tree. I had zero claims for injuries so you would think they would want to help me. Finally I turned it over to my insurance company to handle the claim. I have Hanover and they are simply fantastic. Nice to chat with on the phone and respond even when they do not have an answer. Finally when Allstate was paying my rental car they wanted to not pay for four days! So had I not had another car to use for some of that time I would have had to pay out of pocket. So that makes zero sense. I am minding my own business driving the speed limit I get my car totaled and Allstate does not want to pay the full term of the rental car. Why should this have cost my anything? If you get hit by an Allstate insured driver hire a lawyer. I had wasted what I figure is over twenty hours of phone time and email time dealing with Victor and his supervisor Beverly. They think it is ok for me to have out of pocket not reimbursed expenses for an accident not caused by me. Yet zero medical claim which I could have pursued legally but it was not the moral thing to do. Sadly it is companies like Allstate that have caused the need for legal profession Ambulance Chasers!
First, they got the date of the accident incorrect, so to another insurance company it looks like an additional claim. They say they can not remove it, they just show it as closed... as a closed claim. The agent has no clue of how to do anything. Anytime we called the office, we spoke to the assistant. They had no idea there were 2 additional people on our insurance that did not belong on the policy---we found out at renewal time. Then had to spend time to get reimbursed for paying for the extra people for OVER 1 YR. Then, we receive a notice TN Secure Power of Attorney to turn over my car... we NEVER made a claim... WTF is wrong with them? When we called Allstate, we spoke to someone who spoke broken English... I AM SO GLAD WE SWITCHED INSURANCE COMPANIES TO A COMPANY WHO REPRESENTATIVES ARE IN AMERICA AND SPEAK ENGLISH... ALLSTATE IS THE ABSOLUTE WORST INSURANCE COMPANY EVER. I switched my home and auto and feel so much more secure if something should happen. I have told everyone I know NOT to go to ALLSTATE. EVER. FOR ANYTHING..
Answer: Geico, Progressive, State Farm. They're all the same and rates are based on YOUR personal driving history.
Answer: Because my husband chose them. Now he's gone and I think, so is Allstate.
Answer: You will be on Hold for a while... then you'll get someone who may or may not give you correct information. Be prepared to call back MANY times.
