AT&T has a rating of 1.2 stars from 2,434 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers complaining about AT&T most frequently mention customer service, new phone, and next day problems. AT&T ranks 243rd among Internet Service Provider sites.
Very disappointing when finding that all rewards offered when activating Internet 300 service online are automatically switched to a bundled product that after 7 weeks has not yet arrived. They sent an email 2-3 days after service activation showing that you qualify for an "extra" reward but what they don't disclose is that if accept this "extra" reward, it automatically disqualifies you from the other rewards, close to $250. Just cheating to get you in because most probably you won't even receive the bundle. After 7 weeks waiting period, they just said that an extra 4 weeks are needed. Would it arrive? I think this is just an AT&T SCAM!
I switched from T-Mobile to AT&T recently. Terrible experience from the beginning! Customer service is non-existent! Wait time to speak to a rep was greater than an hour multiple times! Additionally, my bill contained duplicate charges.
Jacob Minor in the Encinitas Store is exceptional!
We have been ATT customers for 25++ years and this experience has keep me from changing providers. Truly, I was looking to move-on!
I was very turned-off to your customer service weeks ago by walking into store and one of your team members said "I DO NOT GET PAID ENOUGH", when I asked him are you okay and this is how he replies.
My husband needed a new phone his died and went into store and met Jacob. He assured me that Jacob would be the one to assist with my new 15-pro Max when I received it.
He was correct!
Had a five-star experience and have not stopped raving about the process. The product was exceptional and Jacob changed my mind about ATT'S customer Service.
Thank you Kindly Jacob for your excellent, kind heart, and patients with setting up my new phone. Made my life happy again with ATT.

I have been a customer with AT&T for 10+ years. They have showed zero loyalty to their customers. If you're new customer they're more than willing to help you. They sell you insurance and you pay them for it then they claim it's a third-party and not pay for your products. Or they tell you a deductible and then they triple it. I wouldn't recommend AT&T to anyone.

Set up internet installation at my parents house and confirmed with the rep that the installer would be wearing a mask; I was assured that absolutely the installer would be wearing a mask. They also sent my mom a disclosure confirming that the installer would have minimum six feet from contact with anyone, and on and on ( a veiled, cheap attempt to act like AT&T cares about its customers during the pandemic). Well low and behold the installer showed up wearing NO mask AND only put one on after my father told him to.

The techs literally showed up 15 minutes early at one location I work at and 45 minutes early at the other location I work at and canceled the tickets claiming no one was there. Well yeah no one was there because you came during closing hours! Then they hang up on you when you're on the phone and try to act like it's your fault when the tech person came outside of the ticket hours hat were scheduled! I wouldn't even give them one star! Except that I have to in order to post this review!

I was told if you suspend your line you only have to pay for the cost of the phone. For three months straight i been paying for the phone and service. I recieved a credit for two months. I called back this month and they told me that it was an inconvenience credit. Say what? I have been lie to from the store and from customer service. Anything for a sale i guess. I would not recommend AT&T to know one. They dont know how to treat their customers and dont give a damn as long as they get paid... I much rather go with a prepaid phone then have to deal with them...

My data speed is at 2.5mps. Everytime customer service helps me with one issue, it causes two more issues. For what I'm paying a month, surely I can get faster internet speed on my phone and customer service where people are not always laughing and carrying on in the background. Absolutely the worse service in the world. Taking my money for them next month and getting a different service. Ok update for today, 4/13/23. My 4g LTE speed on AT&T is 3.3mps. My wife on Verizon, 200mps. Lol, really AT&T. AT&T gets no more of my money.

I have had my phone many years with AT&T. One night my phone became useless. Found out they gave my phone number away. As we all know it is a major hassle to have your phone number changed. I am on prepay so is no fault of mine. T mobile ended up with my number. I went to Warrenton MO office and told them I wanted my number back and make my phone good again. I was thrown out their office refusing to give me my phone number that they gave to T mobile. I should have sued them for this! I was without a phone service and live alone in a rural area. The worker that forced me to leave put his grubby hands on me which is assault. I am still finding people after a year not have the new number I was forced with after them giving my phone number away in the middle of a billing cycle that was paid for! Also their satellite internet is a joke buffers and disconnects constantly!

Rip off, scam artists, trash, wastes all of your time on the phone. Fees on top of fees on top of fees. Horrible service. Over priced phone plans, the highest in the industry.
Tip for consumers:
Do not use this company.

They are nothing but a bunch of liers. This was my business phone for 35 years with At&t. Now i have been crapped on. Thanks a lot you $#*! holes. I am really pissed right now!

My mom died and they said that they were going to cancel all charges. Then they sent a letter that they were going to go to a collections agency. So I get on the phone to clarify this and they send me through phone h*ll. I was transferred from department to department over 10 times! HATE THIS COMPANY! Worst customer service.

I upgraded the phones for my business for $1, then the service was upgraded to $45 per month per phone without my knowledge, on top of adding multiple other fees that I was not aware of. Then when I tried changing the service to an unlimited plan they only applied the new plan to three of the 19 phones I have under this account. The other 16 phones still have the same service. My company has paid anywhere from 1.5 to 5 times the amount we should be paying for the phone service because of AT&Ts constant inability to do anything correct. I am constantly on the phone for at MINIMUM 1.5 hours for them to MANUALLY make changes to each INDIVIDUAL phone... and the bill is still incorrect at the end of the day! If I could give them zero stars I would, I cannot stand working with them and highly regret upgrading the phones.

I was trying to unlock my phone to transfer service, I was told that I could put my phone on a "vacation" status by a CSR, paying $10 a month and then paying each month for the phone. Great, so I called the other carrier and it was saying the phone was still locked. I called ATT back and another CSR stated that I couldn't do that. I would have to pay off the balance which would show up on the next statement. He stated that he would unlock the phone and I should be good. Again, I called the other carrier to try and start service, they said the phone was still locked and they couldn't do anything. A 3rd time I called and another CSR stated that they won't unlock the phone until the balance is paid off. I told him (as nice as he was) that I have had terrible dishonest misinformed experience from ATT and he stated he was sorry for that. He stated that as soon as I pay the phone off, ATT should be notified and they would immediately put in a request to unlock the phone which would take about 24-48 hours. I will not miss the high cost of service and all the hidden fees and taxes associated with your service. You better step up your service!

I have 5 ATT phones and have a customer forever. Never had to wait more than 5-10 minutes in the past. Just now waited on hold for 57 minutes to be told by a person that didnt speed good English that I needed to talk to a different department. Still sitting on hold at 1 hour 33 minutes. And even worse - I had to listen to their constant COMMERCIALS the whole time! OMG! Boy has ATT gone done hill!

I may not know if my son will have a high school graduation ceremony or if my friends will be able to earn a paycheck this month but one thing I do know is that whenever I need to connect with the people in my life, whether it be hearing their voice or reading their messages, At&t will make it happen. Sometimes, the At&t employees that work in customer service, have a bad day or might struggle with personal issues that come across to others as them being rude or disrespectful but they are only human, give them a break. One rude employee on the phone shouldn't affect a customers overall opinion of an entire company. At&t is my lifeline, I couldn't keep in touch with the all of most important people in my life without them. Highly recommended, landline, internet service, wireless, satellite TV... they do it all

I was promised a Visa gift card that was to be used to pay off my phone with Verizon. I never received the gift card and now I owe Verizon Wireless almost $900. Don't believe the saleperson if they give you this deal. You will never receive the gift card!

After going to an AT&T store to set up a business plan for my phone, I received multiple bills far more costly than what I was promised. I spoke with multiple employees with the company, and was informed my bill wouldn't be more than quoted. I spoke with someone at the office of the president and was told a higher amount. 4 to 6 employees tell me one amount, then I get a totally different amount from the office of the president. Customer service is terrible and the way they treat customers when it comes to issues or resolution is far worse. I feel they shouldn't be in business at all.

Att damn near ruined my business I've been having father service for 5 years and all the sudden the last couple months they've been suspending my service I've been having to call up customer service and fight all day to get it turned back on just to have the next day it turned back off or suspended again then the last time they had it off for a whole week straight so I couldn't get any calls for my customers or clients my work was going down and they didn't seem to care I would call their fraud department and leave hundreds of messages and I get one call back it's like they didn't give a f*** about me so I got to the point where I had to write a complaint to the better Business bureau and voila after I write the complaint that very night my service is back on and I don't have any issues but why did I have to come to that point why can't I have just fixed it in the first place because they like to mess with people's heads they like to keep people down apparently unless it's going to affect them somehow

My inboxes for my wife and I were both locked out! Can't see if we have bills waiting or just someone trying to contact us. Called ATT customer service, most don't speak English you can understand, that always helps! Talked to 7 reps and 3 MGRs. Came to a conclusion, to send me a reset password through the snail mail. About 5 days later I got it, didn't work. So they paid 10 people for 5 to 6 hrs of talk, that couldn't do nothing as far as help. Told me no discount on my bill, I'm not ENTITLED to an inbox the guy said, but pay 10 people that can't do their job.

I just need to simply get into my att email account. I have called ATT nonstop for a month. At this point, I have heard it all. One representative told me they only offer paying customers help (i only have an ATT email I do not have service with ATT - and I wouldn't get it after my experience). I told him that I would pay money and do whatever it took to get back into my email. I've had people promise they will call me back, and never do. I have had people hang up on me after asking to talk to their supervisors. I've broken down crying on the phone and these people hang up on me. I understand it is not appropriate to break down crying to a stranger service representative, but I feel that it is even more inappropriate to hang up on me.

Customer since 1996 therefore 19 years and they have still major issues.
Coverage not well cared and customer services... well, sometimes is good and. Sometimes it sucks. Perhaps time to switch to a different and try a competitor as my wife as Verizion and she is happy with it.

This has to be the WORST customer service I have ever dealt with. I have been on the phone for 8! Days at least 3 hours each time and no one can figure out how to fix the problems and they just pass me around from person to person. JUST AWFUL
