AT&T Reviews Summary

The reviews reflect a predominantly negative perception of the company's overall reputation and customer service. Customers frequently express frustration with long wait times, ineffective support, and unresolved billing issues, leading to a sense of distrust and dissatisfaction. Complaints about unauthorized charges and poor communication from representatives are common, suggesting systemic problems in service delivery. I was an employee for 21 years. Started out as bellsouth and things were great. As soon as corporate AT&T took over everything went to $#*!s. I know what some people are thinking is that "oh no now you have to start working" but that's not the case at all. I'm a very hard worker and like to know that I'm trusted to do the job that I'm great at and know how to do but that's not the case. Got a chance to get an early buy out and never looked back!

My company has 18 cell phones with AT&T and when I wanted to port the cell phones to T-Mobile (Best customer Service in the industry) I spent over 13 hours spanded over 4 days and was only able to unlock one cell phone and had to spend another 3 plus hours on the phone dealing with the most incompetent individuals to get the line opened to port it. First they told me we had to pay off the cell phones, which we did. Then they told me I have to go online and request the phone to be unlocked. Only problem is their system would not unlock our cell phones. Then after multiple calls and being hung up on and misinformed I was finally able to get one phone unlocked. However, I could not have the number ported as this is an entirely different process and will probably take me another 10 plus hours to accomplish per cell phone. To me this falls under the rhelm of holding me hostage as my company owns the equipment and they will not allow us to use our property how we see fit and on whtever network provider we choose. If you are reading this and you are thinking of walking into an AT&T Store I advise you to take my advise and start running as fast as you can in any direction that is away from the store. Go to T-Mobile or Verizon but stay clear of AT&T as they are a horible company and I do not wish my experience to happen to anyone. If you become an AT&T customer after reading this then you deserve the bad customer service and if they treat you like they dd my company I hope you don't need the phone numbers or you will experience what I just wrote about.

Bought a phone, rep. Stated my phone was good for a $800. Trade in. Contact att, spent many hours trying to resolve this. 3 different att reps. Have approved my credit. Now they are saying no deal. BAD, HORRIBLE SERVICE! Did I say to stay away from AT&T?

Worst Company Ever
November 10, 2022

I don't even know where to start. This company is a joke. They make promises they can't keep. They change your plan without informing you. They can't get your bill right. EVER! I have only been with AT&T for 6 months and I have to call them at least 3 times month take the correct something on my bill. I have had to file two warranty claims because of faulty phones. When I filed the claims I was told I would rather new phones within 24 to 48 hours of the phone call. One phone took 6 days to get to me. On day 4 I was told by a technical support manager that I can track down the phone, find the UPS truck and go get the phone myself two states away. Now today I'm dealing with the same issue today is day 2 and the phone hasn't even been shipped, after I paid the extra money to make sure I received it within 24 to 48 hours. As of right now they are telling me the they they can't do anything to help me.

Worst decision you will ever make in your life. Quitting alcohol & drugs & sex would be less torture than being apart of the AT &T "family". Joining a cult - signing your soul away- & giving away one of your own limbs would be less painful. Yes IT IS that bad & yes I'm a real person. My friends call me M.

I've been a customer forever. Recently my phone started acting up and not working. It was a universal phone. I've ALWAYS had universal phones. ATT told me sucks to be you. Buy an ATT phone. I did against my will. My husband opened a family plan soon after. ATT offered me a Samsung A13 for $2 a month since I didn't want a new phone. They then tell me I need a new number. Why? What's wrong with the one I got?! No. I need to pay them for a new number, can't just transfer SIM card with the phone in my hand that I aready own and is fully functioning. I took the phone and new number annoyed as he'll. I dropped the current phone in the toilet. SIMS card and everything still works. The phone can not take pics or anything. Called ATT about buying another phone. This one I have to pay in full AND buy a new phone number. Asked wtf?! Stick the pin in the side of the phone and just put SIMS card in the new phone. No. They can't do that. I need to buy a new phone number. They can identify if sim card is transfered to a new phone and will deactivate it. I know because they did it when my husbands samsung was stolen and guy tried to put it in his iphone. We thought it was a security thing. No even the owner cant buy a phone from ATT and put it in their own phone. They have to pay for it again even though they are already paying for the sims card that works and outright own the phone. I own 2 ATT phones and one active sims card. Even if this phone 100% stops working, the card I'm paying for can not be used in the other ATT phone. I have to pay for the same account twice. I still have to pay for broke phone AND pay for new one even if I already own it. If I buy a phone from Walmart fine. I'm still not allowed to put the current Sim card I'm using and paying for this very minute in it. I have to buy another phone number etc

My company changed phone and internet service because our internet and phone were constantly going out during business hours… Two months later we are still getting billed. Today I called to see if someone could help me get this squared away. I have been on the phone for 1hour and 50 mins and no one seems to be able to help me I keep getting transferred to different departments 6 different times. You should really do better AT&T. I give them zero stars!

HOSTAGE SITUATION
November 9, 2022

11 months ago my husband died suddenly. I called att to separate mine & my daughters phone from my mother in-laws family plan. It took 6 hours and 4 phone calls with att in order to accomplish this, once I was released from that plan att had difficulty running my credit in order to give me my own plan, I was left with no choice but to go month to month. At that time I was very busy with the funeral, coping with this tragedy, and a million other very important things. I went in to the store to try and get help there, another waste of time. I have been on the phone with att and in 3 different att stores, trying to get this resolved. NO ONE has been able to help me and I have been paying $75 per month for prepaid service through att since my husbands death because att in entirely incapable of providing ANY effective customer service. I can not take my phone elsewhere because they can't figure out how to unlock. Ive been the phone and in the store many times, ALWAYS a dead end road where employees, after wasting countless hours of my time, have told me-I'm sorry this doesn't make sense, it must be a glitch of some kind. This is the most frustrating situation I have ever encountered. For almost an entire year, the most difficult year of my life, I have been in this hostage situation with att, and every time I try again to resolve it ATT wastes my time and does NOTHING. Everyone one of the employees I've encountered is baffled by this and basically says oh well, sorry we can't help you. How is it possible, in 2022, that a company as large as att can get away with this? My plan renews today and I have no choice but to pay the $75 for the monthly plan that I DO NOT WANT, if I want to be able to use my phone. My husband died of an undiagnosed heart condition, genetic tests shows that my daughter carries the gene and we have been back and forth with many cardiologists-i need to be able to communicate with her doctors, I need my phone to work. This is a hostage situation and att is the absolute WORST company with utterly useless customer service that has done nothing but waste countless hours of my life and leaving me with zero options.

Prepaid with AT&T
November 8, 2022

I signed up with the prepaid wireless plan through AT&T on the 5th of the month. It is a 30 day cycle so I was told at the beginning that the next payment was due on the 4th of the next month. Because I had autopay it came out on the 3rd, ok not that big of a deal, until each month thereafter, if came out a day before until October 2022, they payment came out on the 2nd of October and then again on the 31st of October. I called AT&T and asked if my phone was locked and they told me no, I then proceeded to change over to verizon, when I put the sim card in, it told me the phone was locked. Really long story, but I had to pay them another $40.00 on the 7th of November 2022 to get my service back on. They basically took 3 weeks from me, and admitted that when I confronted them. I cannot wait to go somewhere else. This company is horrible.

Horribble
November 8, 2022

I got both phone service and home internet service on October 10,2022. Let me tell you that this sh*t is horrible. I blame my self for letting the AT $ T representative, who was located in the Target store, talk me into getting this sh*t. I should have read all the reviews first. I should of stuck with t-mobile for my phone plan I also should have stuck with Xfinity for my home internet. I was trying to be cheap and I regret it. I can cancel my home service but the phone I cannot. The people do try to help when calling in, which is a plus but no matter what they try and do THIS SH*T SUCKS.

WORST!
November 8, 2022

5G is the worst. They said the data is slow because I have new Iphone, they told me to upgraded my phone plan to premium then I will never experience the slow data even I am in the mountain. All lies. I already upgraded my phone plan to premium, pay more for the bill but still has no data. That's ridiculous. Been trying to contact customer services, technical support but here what they said "We tried our best but we can't do nothing about it". WTH

Upgrade phone
November 7, 2022

If there was a no star review I would give them zero stars. I went to upgrade my daughters phone which I was quoted $1000. 00. Turns out that her phone was not a lock mode so it devalued the trade in value to $26.00. Its now past the 14 day cancellation policy, No call no emailes stating that your phone was being devalued. Worst service ever. Trying to get somene on the phone i nearly impossible. Dont be scammed

Despite the fact that I have been an ATT customer for years, they are unscrupulous in the event you have any problems or if you are thinking of transferring your mobile service to a new provider. They disconnect your calls regularly, give you a myriad of phone numbers to call, which ultimately lead to a recording telling you to go online to submit a request. They refuse to unlock your device, even when you have paid for it in full. The business practices, ethics, and integrity of this company sets the lowest bar for any service provider I have ever encountered. Trust me... don't use ATT.

I have called AT&T several times 10/14/22,10/25/22,11/6/22 and spent over an hour on each phone call. My question was simple, my number had changed and I need to log into my account. They give me a new pin number every time and I tried to log in while on the phone with them and yet they do not know why I am still not able to log in. Every time I have called AT&T its a different representative so I have to re-state everything I have already said and having issues with. I am a client and I need to be able to see my account and make any necessary changes I need to make. I have two phone lines and a hotspot and still I am not able to make changes or add or do anything to my account because no one from AT&T has been able to get me to log into my account. They can see my information but I am not able to see my information. I am currently on hold and have been on the phone now 1hr and 9 minutes and 50 seconds and going because they are waiting for someone to take help me? AT&T this is the type of services customers get? No one working on AT&T has been able to help me and why? Diana -Q942yd6 could not even help me.

This company is terrible
November 5, 2022

There was a fraudulent purchase on our account, someone purchased two phone and for the last month att has been trying to make us pay. They even disconnected our service, after telling us they were going to give us the $900 credit back to the account and all they have done is give us the run around and trying to make us pay. Horrible we are long time customers and this is how they repay us.

Straight up liars
November 5, 2022

The worker Kayla told me the flip phone was free, that all I had to pay was the tax, which was 100.00. The next time I went in, my bill went way up. She never told me the phone was 1000. Dollars. She also up graded my service, which I did not ask for. Everybody gave me the runaround. I will be looking for new service carriers. I call it taking advantage of the eldery, as I am 63. I am on a fixed income, and I never would have bought a 1000 dollar phone. A worker took my complaint, told me the manager would call. Never did. I'm hopping mad

Oh my god this has got to be the worst wifi company ive ever seen, the data is slow, expensive, and hardly works. Not to mention, autopay is a $#*! to set up and sometimes won't bill your card leading to you losing your mind going from store to store trying to fix it as they send you on a wild goose chase for a month of data.
