AT&T has a rating of 1.2 stars from 2,434 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers complaining about AT&T most frequently mention customer service, new phone, and next day problems. AT&T ranks 243rd among Internet Service Provider sites.
I went to the local AT&T store in Midland Park with my dead iPhone and assuming I would need to get a new phone and, of course, pay more per month (isn't that what always happens?). Surprise! Store Manager Alex K. Cleaned a wad of lint out of the charging port and lo and behold the phone came to life when he plugged it back in. He could easily have run up a new sale and make the usual commission. But, he is an incredibly honest fellow and was more interested in helping us than making a commission. Kudos Alex! And thanks. We definitely will be back to upgrade in the near future and highly recommend this AT&T Store and Alex in particular.
Beware of this company. They are not secure in anyway on their MyATT app. Mine got hacked and a double payment was made. One being authorized and another not. They will make you pay for their mistake. They will not correct it either. Their customer service is pathetic. They don't care about their customers they didn't through Covid either. I received a letter in the mail about my information being compromised and that they believed no personal information was stolen but explain to me how an unauthorized payment was made. Done go to T-Mobile for service they are by far AMAZING
I was with Verizon and extremely good cell service. At home I couldn't tell if I was on my home internet or Verizon 4G. I switched to AT&T because they said they can give me the same service for less than half the cost. They cut my bill from $140 a month to $70. I told them I need the exact same service I was getting from Verizon and they said they can do that. What I got is spotty service and they have a limit on how much data I have. They reduce my data when I run out of the higher quality data. Even their highest quality is mediocre at best. When the 5GE icon comes on I have no internet and can't send messages. I do Uber and need a good signal everywhere. Many times I have to drive to another part of the city to log in. This has negatively affected the money I can make. There are dead areas in the middle of the metro area where the signal should be really strong. I really regret switching to AT&T. I often get their super low quality 5GE when most people are not online, like after midnight or at 2am. Where I live I also never get more than 2 bars of service.

My mother called to see about a issue with her father's bill because he is old and hard of hearing!. She kept calling! Calling! Calling! To see if someone could help her out with the issue and every single time she got hung up on! Repeatedly. She sat there for about 8! F**** hours trying to get help all the way till F***** 12am! Through 7Pm just to find one little bill. That would be so easy to find but NN oOoOO! They had to keep asking for a F***** password that we never got and a BILLLLL! We never received at all
So they are all a bunch of F***** as****holes!

I am firing them after I get my issue resolved and will not only ever do business with them again, but will also make it my life's mission to tell everyone to stay away from this garbage company. What happened is that I was late on my bill. They turned off my phone IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DAY while my wife was out and about in a snow storm! When I tried to contact customer service to talk to them, THEY TOOK ALL THOSE OPTIONS AWAY since I'm a "loser" that's late on his bills. Literally, no option for online chat (since I can't even try and call them), and then when I tried to call them from my VOIP app on my phone using home wifi, they somehow recognized my phone is associated with my ATT account so they only gave me 1 option which is to pay, no questions asked no other options. AND, this is a small business account, so I'd assume these idiots would not treat business people that way. This really reminds me of how I'm treated by airport companies and gov't institutions.

Used this service since nokia back in the day of 2001. Worked in France, Guatemala, and all across western USA and southern USA in the mountains too. For three telephone lines it is about $250 to $300 for unlimited data texts etc. you have to call for international rates and international calling it is $10/ day as of aug 2022 or $100 unlimited. Your telephone is your LIFELINE to your family and friends and business if you get stranded overseas in a foreign country or you can locate the consultants for return to the USA probably at your expense. I recommend the ATT tower signals in the USA. The phone is a separate expense. It offers a phone insurance called Assurance to replace your phone if it breaks I think it's $100 per month like car insurance.

Their sales people are sweet talkers and full of lies! I left my previous and now current phone service provider because I was promised a cheaper bill for the same features. I gave my phone as a trade in for a newer one. A week later, I get a phone bill for $135 with charges I wasn't aware of and wasn't told I would be paying for the phone for 3 months and added services I didn't approve. I immediately called to try and get my phone back and cancel service. The sales person would not answer and I was told it's at the warehouse. So I had to pay a restocking fee when I gave the phone back and I'm still without my phone. I had to buy another phone and restore my previous service. I sent a dispute letter and it took them weeks to send a letter stating the charges are valid. How? When, I turned the phone in and canceled services within 14 days? This is pure greed! You can't charge someone for future services when the services are no longer active. A complete waste of money, time and energy. Their customer service can't provide a valid reason.

Nothing but Lies and headaches. NEVER EVER AGAIN. I will send smoke signals before considering them ever. Started with Billing issues, over-charges, promises and lies. $99 plan become $168/mo and then the promo - trade your phone for $800 credit. Was billed every month for new device I did not need but accepted because of promo.
Assured 3 times it would drop off and was given a $220 credit for a NEW Iphone 10X. Assured the $800 is coming. Got billed again to be told I needed to upgrade and its too late- $220 is what I get and I had someone who offered me $500 cash for it, and I told her I can get $800 from At&T.
This was the last straw. They already lost a 12 year direct TV customer for which they will never see me again for TV service also. My other phone was fully paid for.
MARK MY WORD- DO NOT TRUST THEM... They are smooth talking, false compassionate con-artists and need to be investigated for their many illegal practices!

The worker Kayla told me the flip phone was free, that all I had to pay was the tax, which was 100.00. The next time I went in, my bill went way up. She never told me the phone was 1000. Dollars. She also up graded my service, which I did not ask for. Everybody gave me the runaround. I will be looking for new service carriers. I call it taking advantage of the eldery, as I am 63. I am on a fixed income, and I never would have bought a 1000 dollar phone. A worker took my complaint, told me the manager would call. Never did. I'm hopping mad

I have had AT&T turnkey cable, internet & phone service for decades. As long as everything was working ok, I had few complaints. But their customer support is abysmal. Worse than that. Every single call takes more than an hour, the employees never know anything other than how to follow a script to verify what you already know - things are NOT WORKING. Then they send you old recycled equipment that doesn't work, and that's another hour-plus before you can convince another untrained staff member that they need to authorize you to return that equipment. You do that, and the new equipment arrives days later, and that is also not functional. I used to manage a customer support group for website software, and I'm blown away by the exceptionally poor quality of their staff & their equipment. It's not the employees' fault - there's just no investment by AT&T in providing customers with any reasonable kind of resources if all goes wrong. I'm tossing everything, am willing to pay any price, and cannot wait to see my last-ever AT&T bill.

Called to have internet set up. An hour later I was done & had been told my internet modem would be delivered in 2 days time. On the 3rd & 4th day I was told the modem would be delivered that day. The 5th day I canceled service to go with another provider & the modem showed up in the mail. After figuring out my complex only deals with AT&T as a provider I called again to have the service set up, letting them know I had a modem & didn't need a new one sent. After several reminders & being told My request was understood AT&T continued to send another modem despite my request. The person who was supposed to come set up the modem also didn't show up until 2 hours later. After having the internet set up I did not get the mbps I was promised. They charged me a fee for a service on a specific date & failed to provide the service I paid for or do it remotely close to the date promised.
Tip for consumers:
At&t should be a last ditch effort. You can get spectrum hooked up the same day & very easily for the same price.

I called AT&T and complained about my bill and although I did get a bill for $106 the other day the girl I spoke with claims that she deleted the balance. I was very surprised that she deleted it but they did try to charge me and were probably hoping I wouldn't complain about a $106 bill for service that was never activated. I almost just paid it because I had this bad feeling that the entire process was going to raise my blood pressure and ruin my week but glad I did call.

I recently bought a Sim card for an AT&T Hotspot device that I bought from another Internet company. I was told that it would be $50 a month. When I received the SIM card, it wouldn't work in my device so I called them and canceled the service. Today I received a bill for $106 for service from June 21,2022 through June 23,2022. The charges include $60 for a wireless phone and $30 for an activation fee plus taxes, etc. I did not buy a phone. I got a Sim card which was never activated. It would not work. I made the mistake of doing business with this fraudulent company years and years ago and have had to deal with their deceitful and dishonest practices in the past so it was really stupid of me to try to buy a Sim card from them. I would recommend Verizon over AT&T any day. They don't play these deceitful, unethical games, trying to hustle every penny out of their customers. My phone service is through Verizon now and I recently bought unlimited home internet service with them with no early termination fees or other janky ploys. AT&T's site states that they have a 4.7/5 star review which is laughable and has to be another one of their lies.

Been dealing with AT&T for over 2 months. Tried to split a number away from this account, and they have gone nutso. One of our former employees wanted to keep his number so we asked AT&T to split that number away from our business. The physical store had us call 611.611 is giving us a huge runaround. They disconnected our access to our phones and sent the huge entire bill to the former employer and gave him access to all of our phones. HUGE CLUSTER! GRRR Maybe it is that AT&T outsources its customer service. At some point, they need to recognize that this is not working and is contributing to their low ratings.

It is incredible HOW these idiots stay in business. Absolutely horrendous customer service. The worst of any business anywhere. ALL my services have been with these inbred d*ck s*ckers for over 15 years. My internet service has been in and out 30 plus times. They keep sending dumb*cks to repair it only for it not to work next week. Directv stream service is a nightmare. It works when to wants to and its not very often. I have had a bad TV unit for months and they have not will not replace it. I am on hold for customer service for hours at a time. I have honestly spent a total of 40 hours on hold with these c*ck s*ckers. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR get another service. STAY AWAY FROM AT&T.

Long story short, I switched wireless service to AT&T with hope (and promise) of lowering my wireless bill by bundling AT&T internet (which I already had). The sales rep quoted me a price which was inclusive of a new phone however my bill is 30% higher than quoted. I've spent hours on the phone with AT&T and their solution is for me to get a cheaper plan with less data or pay for a more expensive plan which makes no sense. It isn't my fault their sales rep quoted incorrectly, but they seem to hold me (THE CUSTOMER) accountable for his mistake. Do yourself a favor and stay as far away from AT&T as you possibly can. Their wireless service is inadequate as well, so now I'm paying more for worse service.

Ive been with ATT for over 20 years before they were ATT and changed over to Cingular and back to ATT. This past year I moved to another state and it has been a nightmare dealing with customer service. They have gotten so big that they don't care. People to them is just something to suck money out of. STAY AWAY from This company and any other who pray on people by promising the moon and delivering garbage.

Litterally always the the worst feeling to know I have to contact customer service at AT&T, usually the worst experience of my month (or 3-4 months hopefully). Good luck connecting to an actual human, and if you do theres about an 11% chance they speak fluent english. I must say in-store wireless service representatives are generally very helpful. But they aren't always open, neither can everyone always make it into the store during their normal business hours. You wait 10minutes on hold for them service provider to make your experience take 10 times longer than it needs to. HEYY AT&T,,,, PAY your customer service better, and learn how to train, and then maybe you'll have better workers who actually give a care

I tell you only the truth. In fact, I purchased a phone at AT&T Authorized Retailer, and I wanted to pay it off at the time I purchased it, but later I find out he put me for 36 months financed. I strongly disagree with AT&T services and Retail Sales Consultants because it is not true. The retail sales consultants are not reliable and targeted grants. The monthly cost keeps increasing. The Retail Sales Consultants are not trustworthy and have no respectfulness. If you go to the AT&T Authorized Retailer on Shaw and Villa Ave, in Clovis, I recommend you need to think twice before you go to this location. The Retail Sales Consultants are not telling the truth. Please review the following attachments for the evidence.

I have been trying for 2 days to change my Dad's payment method for his autopay. I have called 611 and the 1800 number. I get an automated message that repeats twice and then hangs up on me. I finally called from my own cell phone and was told the 1800 number was for postpaid and I would have to call another number. When I explained I was getting tired of being hung up on the CS agent, an actual person, hung up on me.
I am just going to let the number die and go to another company. It isn't worth the hassle and disrespect to deal with this company. I will also let everyone I know just how terrible this company treats it customers.

If you're planning to transfer your line to another provider, make sure your phone is paid off before do so.
I order my phone through Samsung. Com( their credit card)I didn't know att could block my phone. They block my phone to the point for more than 6days where I need a MCK# called costumer service and they denied provide me a services. They send me to the new provider or Samsung costumer service. When the issue is a network one because of them. They gave me a reference number but none one wants to work with my issue. After 12 years off having them as my providers. Bad bad

I ordered 2 phones online AT&T charged me 143.63 for the taxes on the phone. I paid and was emailed my receipt. The next morning I received an email the order had been canceled because they couldn't prove who I was and my payment would be refunded. They told me to go to a brick-and-mortar which I did. I again ordered the two phones and again paid for them after the agent called and had the $1050 bill they were trying to charge me for the phones I already had before I moved to AT&T. Now I had to pay my phone bill plus the 143.63 again even though I did not get my phones online. They claim the new 143.63 is for a phone bill and not a recharge for the phones. My emails from them say differently. I started by calling customer service who read from a script, transferred to the manager who read the exact same script, transferred to the supervisor who acted like I wasn't talking to him in chat, and disconnected. I filed a complaint with the FCC, AT&T office of the president called me and said the exact same thing as the first call to customer service. No one is willing to listen or look at the emails sent to me from them. I was forced to pay the 143.63 or come up with close to $3000 to pay off the phones I had just signed a contract with them so I could move to another wireless company. I want to know if they can pay enough to make sure they listen to their customers instead of reading from a prompt and assuming it is God.
