Mr. Holberg is very competent, professional, and an absolutely nice person. He wins. He has been my attorney for eight years. He has never lost a case while representing me. If I ever have to go back to court he will be my attorney.
Just abt all the lawyers on there are snooty, self rightous, smartaz know it alls who dgafa"wedaPpl". N thats the troooof bruh
Avvo publishes consumer reviews that paint an excessively rosy picture of the respective practitioners. That's because Avvo will arbitrarily reject reviews on the basis of what it deems to be "personal attacks, insulting comments, or accusations."
I have a legitimate issue that is very serious and has caused me unbelievable damage. An attorney answered my question taking personal jabs and attacked my being "too poor to obviously afford a lawyer". I'm humiliated and beyond disgusted that an attorney would treat me like garbage when he knows nothing about my back story. HORRIBLE nightmare trying to remove my question to avoid more personal attacks.
This site only publishes fictitious reviews about Attorneys. If you write a honest critical review of an attorney, they take it down, and allow the attorney to deny they even know you. I stayed on top of them and asked why they took it down, and hounded them for two weeks. This attorney had no reviews for over a year, then when I demanded my negative review of the attorney be published, suddenly the attorney had two new reviews, so his score was never affected by my review. Don't trust this site, they probably are paid my the attorneys.
You might not need a lawyer if your workers' compensation claim, I know I did. I was promised by Jamie Adler that I would receive medical treatments due to my workplace injury and that he was experienced and would help me navigate the workers' compensation system, he didn't.
One I retained him, he disappeared. The only way he would have contact is if I went to his apartment in West Hollywood!
I refused, and he allowed my case to become denied, and never allowed me to get medical treatment. He told me that he didn't want to work on my case, but could settle for $10k even though my work injury has left me disabled, without any medical treatments.
I found another law firm who said they could help but he refuses to release my case. Watch out for this attorney and Goldberg and Loren.
A lawyer should value your claim, negotiate with the insurance company, and represent you in an appeal, not constantly inviting you to his apartment.
I use the website frequently, but mainly because with almost every 10 answers, one of all the answering lawyers will make a mistake by mentioning something legally useful. All others use the tactic of scaring you and ask you to hire an attorney.
Ratings on the website do not reflect actual capacity or qualification of the lawyer. Lawyers endorsement of each other's answers are merely political; expected endorsement back.
Avvo does not accept any negative experiences. Avvo will only approve positive feedback. Avvo is a scam and do not use or trust Avvo. An attorney in Houston Tx by the name of Lisa Andrews was referred to and hired by my loved ones acquaintance. Lisa Andrews used to be a DA. This was the worst pick. I should have researched before allowing my loved one to choose this individual. Very unethical, unprofessional, arrogant, lies... This individual was paid to represent my loved one and yet worked against my loved one. Impossible to schedule an appointment with the hired attorney. Her assistant was rude via phone. The attorney looked my loved one in his eyes, only to lie behind his back. My loved one feels setup by the individual he paid to have represent him in a positive light. Do research before hiring someone to represent you. Dont just throw your money away for poor representation and to be lied to.
Left multiple questions about a couple legal issues I am in and no one responds. Responses in 12 hours my $#*! its been months since I have asked the questions. The only way to get an answer is to use the connect to an attorney, which of course costs money.
Mr Olson suggested I meet him at his office. When I met him and explained my case. He seemed bored. He rolled his eye and said jokes. He didn't not seem interested. At the end he brought up his wife that after 9 years of marriage he threw her and her dog out and made the homeless. He continued to say how ruthless he was. I really felt bad for his wife. Don't use this attorney. He is narcissistic, and arrogant.
Is unfortunately not a useful site as it is paid for by attorneys who are ostensibly reviewed by any client. Truth is that the Payer (in this case Attorneys) gets the kid glove treatment. It just gives visitors the impression that they are making informed decision when selecting an Attorney based on 'reviews'/ 'rating' at the website. In fact visitors are no more wiser than if they were to pick an Attorney at random. Sadly this review site (and sadly like most review sites) is not a magic bullet in selecting a service provider based on client reviews :(
I had a terrible experience with a completely disrespectful and rude "attorney". I submitted an appropriate review but it was rejected. Stated it violated their guidelines, but offered no details. I read their guidelines and found no violation. I resubmitted a negative review to reflect the experience but it was rejected again. This happened 4 more times. I then see many others also stating that the site deletes the negative reviews and I wanted to express that the same happened to me. Very disappointing site to say the least, about on par with the level of attorneys on it. I do not recommend to anyone looking for good service.
Tip for consumers:

None, their attorney pool is terrible. Same as their customer service.
I had a very bad experience with a lawyer from that site. I went to post my concern and experience and the review was denied. I followed their guidelines and still got rejected. Avvo is a bias scam site that's paid for by lawyers
Tip for consumers:
Wouldn't recommend or trust the reviews on their site
It is all a scam. First, my charge increased at some point without explanation. Second, the legal questions to add to the rating are garbage. One would think they would screen the questions instead of letting people submit nonsense. Case in point, a person age 40 realizing only recently that she believed she had anxiety from a teacher slapping her at at age 12. In addition to that, it is very difficult to cancel.
I posted a very simple, "where do I begin" type question. I received no response at all - nothing. Then, after a month, I received an email, asking me to review the service. I immediately clicked the link to leave a review, but it stated that too much time had passed to submit a review. I kid you not. From the other reviews here, I should perhaps be grateful I was unable to get through.
In my research I've observed that any lawyer who pays to be advertised on this site will be rated attorney of the year with a 4-5 star rating. I even researched an attorney who got 4.5 stars even after being accused of bribing public officials! Proceed with caution after reading reviews of these advertised attorneys.
They make every excuse to delete a review that you make on a bad attorney. The attorney pays a fee. Therefore they don't want you to share your true experiences with another. I told them I will provide them with videos, and evidence what I went through with unprofessional attorney. Please don't depend on any reviews for attorneys, they will found every reason to not post the review. Now if you're saying something nice it goes through. I follow all their guidelines they find every excuse not to post the review, you're better off using goggle not this site here. I don't want anyone to go through what I went through with the attorney I hired. They kept denying ever review the one they approved it was deleted in few days.
I asked a legal question and no answer was forthcoming, just emails to get me to contact a lawyer in my area. In essence it's nothing but a bait-and-switch scam to get people to contact lawyers for a fee before any answers are given. Avoid at all costs. I would gladly give NO stars if that was an option.
I have attempted several times to submit a negative review of an attorney who was liable for legal malpractice. The review was always rejected for vague reasons. I asked the site for specific reasons for the rejection so that I could amend the review, but I never received a response. The attorney, Joseph H Chivers, has several performance complaints against him on other websites, but he has absolutely none on Avvo. He had some negative performance reviews at one time, but these all vanished after he complained to the site. Obviously, these people serve as a shill for the legal profession.
First I asked two questions on Avvo, with detailed information, none of which were answered by any attorneys. Then I asked another question, which was answered very rudely and in a condescending tone. The smart-$#*! attorney who answered must be on an ego trip --- only answering questions just to make himself feel superior. His response was very flippant, unprofessional, and he sounded like a jerk off the street, not the response I'd expect from an attorney. Perhaps there are attorneys on Avvo who want to be helpful, but I personally never got answered by any of them. I only got a smart-$#*! answer from a smart-$#*! attorney who prefers to cast judgment instead of being helpful.
I simply stated. The said, attorney does not return emails or phone calls. That is a factual statement about this attorney.
I tried rephrasing it and AVVO still declined it. Not sure this is a useful source at all if they only allow good reviews.
Avvo.com is a scam in the biggest sense of the word. Lawyers are damned if they do, damned if they don't (claim their profile.) Avvo allows clearly bogus reviews to be placed, with no recourse by the attorney.
Avvo does not allow people to make free and clear opinions of attorneys they have dealt with. The review or the rating goes to the Attorney to be approved. This does not allow negative feedback to the attorney unless the attorney allows the comment. A review is supposed to allow you to say what you have actually and truthfully dealt with. Good or bad it is your decision. It should not be monitored by the Attorneys decision. I would enjoy the feedback from peoples comments. This would allow me to clear myself up in hopes to change that disagreement with the Attorney or in my case my salvage business. So, the ratings and reviews are not fair with AVVO. I am a business owner since 2006 in salvage. In some cases I need attorney help.
Tip for consumers:
It is a good free attorney finding service you can view and choose your self.

This is a website that deals with attorneys and their services. Avvo is not a place where you spend money. You can ask questions and get responses or find information you might need.
Avvo rating of lawyers is meaningless and consumers are being misled... big time!
Some lawyer on the site as rated 9000 other lawyers as excellent. How can one lawyer know 9000 lawyers enough to review them. Avvo does not know the lawyers it rates, never used their services and therefore the ratings are a scam. Avvo makes annoying phone calls to get the lawyers it rates to advertise on the sight. Does anyone else see a conflict of interest here?
AVVO is crapola. My review of an attorney who belongs in prison for malpractice, extortion, and theft was rejected repeatedly. They give this reprehensible "lawyer" a 6.6 rating even though the reviews are scathing and at lowest possible scores. I'm guessing money is changing hands.
Their sales team is relentless in contacting attorneys for payment and paid things...
Then, LOL 2022, they have boomer attorneys who are literally sitting on the internet drunk at night troll answering questions like they are talking to a trash off the street. $#*! off avvo. Never you again. Bad times pass, bad reputations stay. Clean your house omfg. I get traumatized by a bunch of $#*! up boomers for asking a question. Yahoo answers had better moderation that your piece of $#*!.
You can be as clear and straightforward with your question as is possible and you won't get much in return. With the sketchy, half-hearted replies, you'll wonder if these attys even totally read your question. Or understood it. Not worth the effort and I've tried several times. I give this 2 stars because at least they email you with some follow up contact, like they care a tad. Though it's relevant to what you asked only about half the time.
Avvo has ratings, reviews, and disciplinary records for lawyers in every state. Get free legal advice, find the right lawyer, and make informed legal decisions.
