I've had two repairs from this place and both were fine. Some suggest poor communication from them and while I can say they didn't sweep me off my feet with communication, they were nice and polite and they do reply. One thing to note is that most all of these shops are about the same with communication. Cameras and Parts doesn't hold your hand and rub your belly during the process of the repair. Keep in mind, if you pay Canon about double the price, they won't do that either. Some people should grow up and get back to reality. For anyone out there who has a reasonable sense of mind, Cameras and Parts does a good job on repairs and they have better pricing than most any other place. I can confidently recommend them based on two good repair experiences.
BEWARE! They have had my camera since early May 2014. They answered 1 phone inquiry in early July. They have not responded to numerous phone calls, emails and a certified letter. They have my $500 camera and it appears to now be stolen as of 8/27/2014.
They send the part we order fast. It is a battery door and it is easy for us to install it. I recommend this site they give good service to me.
We just had them service an SD400 and an SD850 both with lens errors. They did a terrific job on both. Great folks all around!
They did a repair to my Canon SD780 camera. I thought they did a great job. My camera has been working beautifully since.
Stellar Service, Repair and Fast Turnaround - Cameras And Parts Rocks! You did a great job fixing my Canon G9 - I will be sure to recommend you all!
Here is my experience with Cameras And Parts. To start off, I am a high school teacher in charge of our technical department. We have an emphasis in the fine arts, with a program set up specifically for students wanting to get into journalism and photography. Needless to say, we sometimes need to have equipment serviced. We have used Cameras And Parts over the past few years and we've been happy with them as a whole.
Let me cover a few things, the service they do at Cameras And Parts is impressive. They repair the cameras right, they do corrections to some of the models with known problems to prevent the problem from occurring later on the camera, they service the cameras at the time of repair and they do one heck of a cleaning on the camera too. Nothing to complain about here. We have always been impressed with the repair aspect of their service. Talking with them, they are very knowledgeable and polite, very good people to deal with.
Now for my gripe, why did I ding them a star? Well, and I've gone over this with them many times, we are a school and we need a purchase order which we pay in 30 days. They do not accommodate us on this. What does this mean to an instructor? It means I, as an instructor must pay them first and then submit the receipt to our accounting department. Then I wait about a month to be paid, sometimes longer. Also, I don't think it's wrong to give a discount to educators, this they don't do either.
Why do we still use them? They are in fact very good to deal with. They turn the cameras around very quick. The one time we had an issue, they bent over backwards to get us looked after, this is all appreciated. So why make it so difficult for an instructor by making the instructor have to pay first and then the instructor has to wait to be paid by the schools accounting department. If they issue a Purchase Order, they will eventually get paid, usually within 30 days, never more than 60 days. Hopefully one day this will change.
I still choose to use them because the cost is much less through them than others places for repairs and their work is as good as anyone could as for. Not helping teachers though as far as a small discount for volume of course and also not letting the school pay in 30 days in my opinion is wrong. These are students needing the equipment for an education.
I sometimes have strong views really taking an interest in young minds wanting to learn. I have been an educator for nearly 30 years. I am very respected in my field. Other business do these things for schools, it is something I would ask Cameras And Parts to consider.
I have a Canon G9 I had a power failure and I took it to a local repair shop to get it fixed, well let me tell you they had it for 2wks to only tell me that they could not repair it- I was so mad. I was planning a small vacation and mentioned to a friend of mine that my camera was not working and that I wanted to get it repaired to take on my vacation but would probably would take to long. He recommended that I send it to CamerasAndParts in El Paso, he also has a canon camera and had also had a problem with it, he went on telling me how helpful they had been and how he spoke to one of their representative about some concerns he had and they explained the whole process of what they would be doing to his camera and reassured him that he had nothing to worry about, well after hearing him out I went on to search online for www.CamerasAndParts.com and found out also that they had the pest price to get it fixed with parts and labor included the total cost was $98 i also found a discount code for $10 dollars so it only cost me $89. I also called with some of my own questions and mine were more with the concern of getting it back on time for my mini vacation, the gentlemen that helped me and I apologize for not remembering his name, but i do have to say that he was great help and also helped me out to get a rush order in to get back faster- I just wana say thanks the repair techs and staff at CamerasAndParts you guys are awesome and you did an amazing job. Also very important that I must add my previous repair shop had done some damage to the circuit board and misplaced screws, basically damaged it more that what it was all ready and these guys at CamerasAndParts repaired everything at no additional cost- thank you once again
They delivered great service all the way to the UK. The repair and service work was brilliant!

About 5 or 6 weeks ago I sent my Canon G9 to Cameras and Parts.com after seeing their website. It didn't even cross my mind to check online reviews regarding the company. After not being able to communicate with them either by email or by telephone I strted to get worried and began looking online for the reports of others. I began getting pretty worried after reading the extremely negative reviews. Here is my experience:
A couple of weeks after sending my camera to Cameras and Parts.com and not having acknowledgment of their receiving it I tried to contact them via email. I heard nothing back from them at all. After another couple of weeks I tried calling them only to get an answering machine with a pleasant message saying that they would get back with me. It was only then that I began getting worried. I knew UPS had delivered my camera but I got absolutely no response from C&P.com.
I started to do some research online and found several sites with very negative comments regarding the company which really made me concerned that I would never see my camera again. I pretty much resigned myself to that scenario and chalked it up to experience.
Just about a week after that my telephone rang with the caller ID saying only a Texas number. It was a man whose name I do not remember calling from C&P.com. He apologized right way the lack of communication and told me that they were having some problems as a Yahoo Commerce (?) participant and that their emails were not getting out to their customers. He said that he was returning my phone call as a result of listening to the message I left. He also told me that the negative reviews were the result of some disgruntled former employees who had been working hard to discredit the company.
He told me that my camera was in the pipeline and was being repaired as we spoke. He explained to me what their technician was reporting about the camera and what they were doing to repair it. He went on to say that they would expedite the return shipping and as soon as it was finished, which might even be that day, they would get it out to me immediately. Frankly, he talked so long, explaining and apologizing so much, and expressing genuine concern that I was still worried that I might be being scammed! But there seemed to be enough real knowledge in what he said that it somehow sounded credible.
That conversation took place on the day before Thanksgiving 2013. On the day after Thanksgiving I received my camera. So far it is in perfect working condition.
I have no idea what to believe regarding the bad press that C&P.com has received on this site and several others. Since then I have heard about other Yahoo Commerce sites having some really severe problems recently.
But what I do know is that I do have my camera back and it is working. I hope this is helpful.
