Our company opened up a Capital One Spark account for business. We had an account previously for our business that had a set credit limit and worked fairly well. We had to set up this new account under one of our owner's name. Unfortunately that left me, the person administering the account, unable to perform a lot of functions without having to track down the owner who was out of the office a lot. That turned out to be a minor inconvenience though compared to what else we went through. The first day, THE VERY FIRST DAY, our account was shut off because we exceeded our credit limit. With the Spark Business card it's an evolving line of credit that you earn as you spend. We already had established $100K credit with our old account at Capital One, but apparently with this new account we were lucky to get $1K. I understand how the credit works, but if we were just switching to a different type of program in Capital One, why didn't our established credit come with us? To top it off, a glitch wouldn't allow even the Capital One customer service rep to fix. That left 25+ employees without use of their card out in the field in the middle of a job.

We were lied to when we set up this account, just to get the business and then after that, our account rep washed her hands of us. She and her boss promised to help us get an established amount of credit, but never followed through. At one point they asked why we didn't use our cards from our old account... Because you sold us this business program and our employees don't have their original cards...

If you are thinking of applying for a business account DON'T. Find another bank that won't lie to you just to get the sale and then abandon you when you are stranded without credit.

My card was restricted and even after I answered all the security questions including my social security number, the last few purchases, my date of birth, my address etc
They asked me to take a picture of my license
Thru their secure link
Their secure link couldn't read my driver license information though I attempted many times
They even told me to take the picture outsiside which I did
I have an iPhone 14 with a very excellent camera and the pictures were crystal clear on my end and my license is in excellent shape like new
But their system would not accept it
Their customer service if you can get someone who can speak clear English is horrible
I was told to upload my documents to a different site and they would review it would take at least 7 days
I'm still waiting
This is the worst experience I've ever had with a credit card company
Usually matters such as these are handled on the first phone call not with Capitol one
Spent literally hours on the phone to no avail
Their policies and customer service are only meant to hinder the customer not to help
I will concider closing this account as soon as this mess is cleared up I have credit cards from the major banks and I never had problems of this magnitude until capital one took over the account it was my favorite card to use
Don't pay attention to their commercials dealing with them is a nightmare stay away

I've had a capital one account for a month and still don't have a functional debit card. I was added to my husband's capital one account a year ago and never got a card for it. We assumed it was because we didn't order one. When I opened my own account, the page said I would receive a debit card in 7-10 days. When it never arrived, I called and I was told I couldn't have a debit card because only one card was allowed per customer and they sent me a debit card for my husband's account. Despite the fact that I never received that card, it took arguing to get a new one. The man told me it would be identical to my husband's card and both cards would have access to both accounts and have the same numbers. My new account was in my name only. In order to switch where the cards pulled from, we'd have to switch them on the desktop app. So everytime we used our debit cards, we would need to get on the desktop app to make sure it was pulling from the correct account... I called back the same day because that made no sense and I was told that was untrue, I would get a card with different numbers from my husband, and only mine would have access to both accounts. I was not offered expedited shipping despite the fact that the website had told me I would get a card and that hasn't happened. When I got the card TWO WEEKS LATER, the option to switch which account it pulled from wasn't present. I made a charge on the card to see which account it would pull from and it pulled from my husband's. When I called, I was told that the option to switch accounts wasn't present because of the charge but it wasn't present before the charge. I was then told that the option to switch accounts may never appear and I would have to call, and sit on hold for 30 minutes, in order to switch accounts. I could only do this once the charge cleared which can take up to a week! I will have had this useless account for 5 weeks and have run into every headache imaginable. It should not take over a month to get access to your own money. No one at the company is helpful. This is the worst bank I have every banked with.

I have been a victim of credit card fraud involving the Capital One Silver One credit card that I own. On September the 30th, thieves made online purchases on Walmart AR (I live in Oklahoma City). I was notified 2 later and immediately disputed the charges. Of the charges, $XX were effectively charged to my card and another $XX were declined due to being over the card's limit. After spending around 1h speaking to a non-native English-speaking representative ("fraud department specialist") I received several emails reassuring me that I would not be penalized, as is their contractual obligation. However, the charges were made. I had another over-one-hour call with another non-native English speaking "fraud specialist", who was not familiar with the USA legal system and encouraged me to seek law enforcement. My card statement changed in front of me, on my computer screen, as they proceeded to lie, saying everything was taken care of. Another charge was done a few days later. Another hour on the phone. After that Walmart made what looked like two credits to my account and several days later Capital one charged me with $XX as "billing adjustment". After so many charges, credits, adjustments, letters with discrepant numbers, I have no trust that my actual balance is accurate. Capital One only reacts to legal threats. Their consumer review is the worst in the scale, by thousands of customers. I took time analyzing them and Capital One actually infringed the law with several of them. Finally, they lost my card on the mail and were going to charge me for a third card. Had I not reminded them that that, too, would be illegal, to which they responded that they would not charge me anything, I am sure I would. In terms of billable hours, they owe me at least $XX. However, they have caused serious damage: I have hyperacusis. I had to be medicated because of the pain caused by the bad connection.

Capital one was fine at first, until I had to pay my bill... then they needed the Bank Proof of Ownership BullSh!t? Never have I had to do this with any other account or card, EVER! In June, I made the payment, which cleared almost immediately, then my account was suddenly "Restricted" and I got a message to call in. I did and talked with someone who barely spoke English and was visibly following the script. I submitted the requested document, no calls, I call them and that wasn't the right thing, I send different docs, they never call, I call them and that's not right either. I then send them the first page of my bank statement because I don't think they need to see 6 pages of transactions. That's none of their f~cking business! Wait more time and that's a no go too because it is incomplete. Fine, I send the whole thing and a voided check because my bank statement only shows the last 4 of my account, they need the whole number? Who the f~ck writes these policies? Seriously? Started this process June 22nd, it's almost August... unf~ckingbelievable

Horrible, HORRIBLE company to deal with, they will never call you so unless you call them every other day, don't expect anything to ever happen, my advice, choose a better company, don't make the same mistake I, and obviously many others have, STAY THE F~CK AWAY FROM CAPITAL ONE!

After the SIXTH rep/supervisor I spoke with today about a BS late fee, I found out everything I had been told so far was either blatantly wrong or an out and outright lie. After 5+ hours on the phone, I am beyond done with this horrible company.
Initially, I called and complained about some reported missed payment (I have never missed a payment with anything!) they rescinded it (was told customers are granted one 1 time). I thought ok, good, at least that is fixed. Then I continued to ask and ask about how the heck it happened so I can avoid ever experiencing it. Mind you, I only charge to keep up my credit activity... I prefer using my bank card. Also, I wanted to ensure there wasn't anything negatively reported on my credit.

I was transferred 3 times to a very rude "credit specialist." Surprise! They don't even HAVE them at capital One! Then after condescendingly walking me through my notifications settings (which were all set as I wanted them to be anyway), she finally sends me to "IT." He proceeds to look into it and then explain how it is a mobile app "glitch" and that it is well known there... they have been "working on it." Then he tells me he is writing a note in my account that it is a "Capital One software glitch" and furthermore commiserates with me and says he is contacting the credit bureau to explain that Capital One takes full blame.

Guess what? After 5.5 hours I find out that no one there can even do such a thing! One positive note is that after I spoke with him, I called again and inquired about my new ballooned minimum payment only to find out that major interest was included... if I didn't inquire, I never would have gotten that refunded despite everything! My conversation with the 7th (and absolute final rep ((this one a REAL supervisor))) finally clarified all of the BS, lies, and incompetence I was fed all day. Acceptable still? Not by a long shot!

Very long story short, I am keeping the account open because of the length I've had it but after my refunds next week, I am transferring my balance to a new card. They wouldn't even offer me anything to keep my service... syonara Capital One!
